Holy Crap!
General | Posted 16 years agoWell. It's been awhile. Sorry about that, all.
I'm not dead. Promise. I just haven't been very active on FA recently because my focus has shifted to YouTube and my college career. I'll still be lurking around, sure, but submissions may be slow (if any exist).
And now, to ensure I'm not gone for two months again. *makes a bookmark on his Delicious page*

Update on the Rig
General | Posted 17 years agoSome sort of New Year's miracle must have chosen me and said "Unto you I shall occur"...maybe. Sounded cool in my brain.
Anyway, the computer has shipped early! It went out last night, so I should be back sometime shortly after the 5th or 6th of January. Perfect for a late B-Day present.
See you all soon!

Computer Blues
General | Posted 17 years agoTo those who have been missing my presence online lately, I'd like to offer an explanation.
The video card on my PC died recently as I was in the middle of recording a Let's Play (anyone who doesn't know what a Let's Play is should look them up on YouTube). I took the computer to Best Buy to have it looked at and the man there explained that, due to the way the innards of the comp were laid our, it would be impossible to replace the video card without replacing the entire mother board. That's so expensive I thought it wise to just break down and get a new PC. Fortunately Dell was having a one-day sale a few days later so I was able to get a new rig that would normally have cost over $700 for $569. The new computer is due to ship out on the 9th of January. I should have it soon after.
Sorry for not explaining this before but without easy access to a computer with Internet connections it's been hard to update. =P
Hope to see you all soon!

What A Kiss Means (CHAIN LETTER ALERT!)
General | Posted 17 years agoSimply posting this because I find it to be very true. And because I needed a new journal up anyway. =P
+Kiss on the stomach = "I'm ready"
+Kiss on the Forehead = "I hope we're together forever"
+Kiss on the Ear = "You're my everything"
+Kiss on the Cheek = "We're friends"
+Kiss on the Hand = "I adore you"
+Kiss on the Neck = "we belong together"
+Kiss on the Shoulder = "I want you"
+Kiss on the Lips = "I love you"
What the gesture means...
+Holding Hands = "we definitely love each other"
+Slap on the Butt = "That's mine"
+Holding on tight = "I don't want to let go"
+Looking into each other's Eyes = "I just plain love you"
+Playing with Hair = "Tell me you love me"
+Arms around the Waist = "I love you too much to let go"
+Laughing while Kissing = "I am completely comfortable with you"
+picking someone up off their feet = "that they love them fully and would do anything for them"
--Advice--
+ Dont ask for a kiss, take one

Random Meme from Klesk
General | Posted 18 years ago
kleskvadrigaar tagged me for this survey and, actually, it looks really interesting. What a great way to wake up!Here we go!
1.) Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, and find line 4.
"...grassy. It looked endless: wild and lonely and free."
2.) Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What can you reach?
A tower of blank CD's, my Logitech ChillStream controller, a phone book, a handbook on making Celtic knots, a copy of Jedi Academy for PC and my starter deck for WoW.
3.) What is the last thing you watched on TV?
The Smoking Gun presents: The World's Dumbest Criminals
4.) Without looking guess what time it is?
9:58 AM
5.) Now look at the clock. What is the actual time?
10:03 AM
6.) With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?
The air coming up through my vent, my folks talking in the kitchen, the fridge being closed and the television in the living room.
7.) When did you last step outside? What were you doing?
I was walking from my car to my home after work. It was at about 1 AM last night.
8.) Before you started this survey, what did you look at?
A few things here on FA and the new video I'm working on for YouTube.
9.) What are you wearing?
I don't dress very completely in the mornings if I have nowhere to be in a hurry. Right now it's a pair of orange pajama pants with a black dragon pattern and a pair of white socks on my feet.
10.) What did you dream about last night?
More like this morning in my case... XD But all I remember of my dream was that it involved me hugging Sarah tightly and at the same moment we said to each other "I've missed you so much!"
11.) When did you last laugh?
A few seconds ago when I read Klesk's response to #10 on this. =P
12.) What are on the walls of the room you are in?
My walls are pretty bare. Going clockwise I can see:
A shelf containing an old bottle of homebrewed root beer from a festival in Hannibal, MO years ago, a 2nd place martial arts trophy in sparring
A shelf with a large bottle of seashells collected from the beach at Pensacola , FL
A Precious Moments picture of a young boy holding a teddy bear with the words "Jesus Loves Me" on it
A painting of an island sunset I bought in Hawaii
A picture of myself and my younger cousin Jessica when we were young
A picture of my grandparents
A picture of the Lindamood family (Sherry Lindamood being my mother's sister) from when their son John was younger
A bookshelf
Two plaques for participating in the East Central District All-District Choir
A plaque with the kanji character for "good fortune"
A shelf with an adage from Pinocchio in a frame on it
A shelf with a 4th place martial arts trophy
13.) Seen anything weird lately?
Nothing that I can think of.
14.) What do you think of this quiz?
Well... it's different. XD Kinda fun, actually.
15.) What was the last film you saw?
Stomp the Yard. It's an awesome testament to the importance of team mentality and commitment, not to mention that the dancing and music in it kick ass!
16.) If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy?
...Damn. I'm stumped on that one. x.x
17.) Tell me something about you that I don't know?
...Lemme get back to you on this one.
18.) If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt and politics, what would it be?
Finally, something I can actually answer again! =D Simple. I would make the separation of church and state in America absolute. From then on, anyone who invoked religion as a reason that a law of intolerance should be passed or used it as a cop-out to appeal to a voting demographic would be removed from Congress and their pleas not heard.
19.) Do you like to dance?
Anytime. ^_^
20.) George Bush...
...is an inept dick without a dick. Plain and simple.
21.) Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?
Kyra. It's a beautiful name and it works well with almost any last name.
22.) Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him?
Kaimana. It's a Hawaiian name meaning "power of the ocean". I simply love the sound of it, not to mention it would be a lot more distinguishing.
23.) Would you ever consider living abroad?
If the opportunity ever arose, I'd love to live abroad for at least a short while. I think it would be an enriching experience.
24.) What do you want God to say when you reach the Pearly Gates?
"Kid, I liked your message and I loved your energy, but did you hafta be so damn loud about it?"
25.) Tag Four people who must also do this in THEIR journal.
Let's see...
natsukomansata because I'd love to see how she answers these.
phantomfoux for the same reasons.
revamp &
lin-sivvi because I need to catch up with both of them and I want them to know I still think about 'em.And... I'm out. =D Later.

I love this song and I love the professional effort put into the AMV by the creator. Feels very much like watching a Sin City trailer and with good reason. I just had to share this one with FA as a whole.

Thank The Powers
General | Posted 18 years agoWell, it seems that it's not all as downhill as I would have thought. And yes, I've been hiding that. It was all minor stuff, anyway. The deal was that it was just one little thing that piled on top of another and soon it became a mountain.
This past month or so has been... troubled. I've been getting snappy with my roommates, I'm tired all the time, I keep missing classes just to sleep in (which ultimately doesn't help me on any front), I've been getting distracted from homework. Most of this I bring on myself, yes, but it's not like me. But most of all, I miss my Sarah...
But, still, I've been getting some good news. My school situation can still be salvaged, I'm just gonna have to really buckle down. I'm trying to go to sleep earlier at the end of the day when I can. I still know nothing of Sarah, but I don't get that knot in my stomach that I usually get when I know something is wrong. This isn't the first time we've been out of contact for a long time. Right now, I'm just praying for her safety.
Well, I feel a little better now. Thanks for listening to my whining.
Better journal next time, I promise. =3

Give her a hand. n_n

A New WIP!
General | Posted 18 years agoYes, yes, yes, and sweet fuckin' yes! After so long of waiting around and denying the urge to do it, I've finally got off my haunches and started on a new story.
For those of you who know my Furcadia-esque characters, this one will focus on my sex-machine squirrel, Cosmina Voinic. I won't spoil what happens exactly, but I think it'll shine a little more light on her and give her a slightly more three-dimensional feel. I do hope it's enjoyeable.
And in other news, I've been thinking a lot about the first several chapters of the Massian Chronicles and finally given in to my gut instinct on them. They're not up to snuff. The characters need some more fleshing out and perhaps a bit of rethinking, there are plot holes that are really, REALLY driving me up a tree, and various other things that are nagging at me constantly about it. Because of this, I'm going to go back at some point in the near future and revamp them. Yes, this means the originals WILL be taken down and replaced once the first rewrite is finished. Don't worry. The project is not dead by any means. It'll just take some major redoing.
That's all.

General | Posted 18 years ago'Planet Hell' (Nightwish) - Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2
Hoo, boy. This is just plain awesome!
Before I watched this AMV, I didn't really appreciate just how dark the Kingdom Hearts games could seem. Now that I've given this a watch, my mind has been changed a little.
Just watch and feel.
'Creek Mary's Blood' (Nightwish) - Princess Mononoke
Yes, I know it seems like an unlikely match, but it works surprisingly well! In a way, this AMV's creator is able to create a beautiful metaphor.
The song itself, as you may be able to deduce from the lyrics, is a lament for the suffering of the Native Americans at European hands. Kinda works with the AMV, considering which clips the creator put to use.
Again, watch and be amazed.

Ahead of My Time... In A Bad Way
General | Posted 18 years agoWell, now I know for sure my mind's not as it once was.
Talking to my friend, Ty, got me thinking. He spends most of the time we chat solving rubic's cubes, and it keeps his mind active. As he so excellently put it, "I'd rather it be this way than vegitating."
Well, I was at Curcuit City today with my roommates, so I figured I'd throw down the $20 to pick up Brain Age 2 for my DS. Okay, so it didn't seem like much of a good purchase, but I feel good about it now that I've seen it. Well... good and bad at the same time. More on this in a minute.
The game has several good features. There's Quick Play, Brain Training, Sudoku puzzles too. But here was what I was interested in. Brain Age Check.
One's Brain Age is determined by how quickly their brain processes and stores information. The ideal Brain Age is 20. Well, after a few reaction and memorization quizzes, guess where mine stands?
54.
That's right. At 19, I have the brain of someone in their mid-50's.
Definitely need to work on that, no?
Well, okay. To be fair, the game has a few quirks that can make the quizzes just a teensy bit inaccurate. Sometimes, it doesn't read the input just right the first time, which can fudge results. Still, though, the number is unsettling.
I'll be playing this for at least a few minutes a day now to see what little Brain Training puzzles can be unlocked, and also just for the fun of the Sudoku puzzles.

AMV Promotion of the Moment! - 1
General | Posted 18 years ago'Goodbye Love' (RENT) - Fruits Basket
I adore RENT. It's a powerful musical that has a message for just about everyone. We're all suffering somehow, and RENT treats these problems with compasion and shows us something we all know - love can save.
Setting the song 'Goodbye Love' to these images was ingenious. They work so well! I don't know how the idea first came about, but every AMV like this I can find is usually very powerful still.
For those of you unfamiliar with the story behind RENT, I'd suggest looking it up on Wikipedia before checking this out. It makes it even better.
Give props to this one's creator. He/She's incredible!

*I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian.
*I am the person who is afraid of telling his loving Christian parents he loves another male.
*I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual woman.
*I am the sister who holds her gay brother tight through the painful, tear-filled nights.
*We are the parents who buried our daughter long before her time.
*I am the man who died alone in the hospital because they would not let my partner of twenty-seven years into the room.
*I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the two fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had. I wish they could adopt me.
*I am one of the lucky ones, I guess. I survived the attack that left me in a coma for three weeks, and in another year I will probably be able to walk again.
*I am not one of the lucky ones. I killed myself just weeks before graduating high school. It was simply too much to bear.
*We are the couple who had the realtor hang up on us when she found out we wanted to rent a one-bedroom for two men.
*I am the person who never knows which bathroom I should use if I want to avoid getting the management called on me.
*I am the mother who is not allowed to even visit the children I bore, nursed, and raised. The court says I am an unfit mother because I now live with another woman.
*I am the domestic-violence survivor who found the support system grow suddenly cold and distant when they found out my abusive partner is also a woman.
*I am the domestic-violence survivor who has no support system to turn to because I am male.
*I am the father who has never hugged his son because I grew up afraid to show affection to other men.
*I am the home-economics teacher who always wanted to teach gym until someone told me that only lesbians do that.
*I am the man who died when the paramedics stopped treating me as soon as they realized I was transsexual.
*I am the person who feels guilty because I think I could be a much better person if I did not have to always deal with society hating me.
*I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I don't believe, but because they closed their doors to my kind.
*I am the person who has to hide what this world needs most, love.

Diviners, Papers, and Stories (OHMY!)
General | Posted 18 years agoWell, it's been awhile since my last journal, so I figured it might be good to post on recent events. There's quite a lot to say, so... let's get to the point.
First off, I've finally decided to take a leap into something that's held my interest for quite some time: the ancient art of divination. A have a lot of friends who are Neo-Pagan, Neo-Druidic, Wiccans, witches, etc. Some of them (the one from my workplace in particular) have been telling me that with all the deja vus and prophetic dreams I've been experiencing I should really look into trying psychic readings of some sort. Well, yesterday, I was messing around at the Barnes & Noble in Fenton, and what should I come upon but The Book of Runes? After thinking on it and doing a bit of studying, I realized my decision to try it out was more practical than Tarot or the like. Rune readings require deep introspection and a clear mind, but no contacting the spiritual realm. Sounds safer than asking the dead to show me the future. And, boy, did they prove their power when I asked them about Sarah. To those who know me, you know why that's proof enough that it works.
Next up on the list. College. I'm finding myself caught in the same old trap I do at the beginning of every year. I'm getting lazy, and it's already costing me. I need some sort of higher motivation to keep going. Or maybe I need to stop pushing myself so hard. Or maybe I just need to quit and try something else. I dunno. I need help deciding this sort of thing. Those who were college survivors before me, I need some advice. How did you keep doing the work and still find time to relax and do what you like?
And, the final note. Story progress is kinda stunted for the time being. What with three Honors courses, parents demanding I work as free labor for them every weekend I come home, a weekend job that drains me every Friday and Saturday night, and trying to stay on good terms with my roommates, it's getting tough to even squeeze in a moment of my time for them. I'm still trying to get a new one out there ASAP, but I don't wanna rush and harm the potential quality.
That's all. More details at noon.
Jackal, out.

Couldn't Come At A Worse Time
General | Posted 18 years agoHey, FA! Guess what happened to me earlier this week.
I was informed that I was a victim of ID theft! Isn't that great?! </sarcasm>
There's a company called Certegy Checking in the Tampa, FL area. Certegy is a service provider to U.S. retailers (Wal-Mart and such). On Monday afternoon, I received a letter from them saying that one of their employees breached security and took the bank account numbers of many thousands of people and sold them to anonymous people in the Tampa area. The employee was caught, but he is refusing to reveal who he sold the info to.
Okay, so, why do I have to worry about this? Because the bank account housing my college fund was one of the thousands of accounts put in danger by this man!
Fortunately, the stolen account has been closed out and the money in it transfered to a new one. No money was missing, so I should count my stars.

General | Posted 18 years agoThe Lord is my shepperd,
I have all I need.
She makes me lie down in green meadows.
Beside the still waters She will lead.
She restores my soul,
She rights my wrongs.
She leads me in a path of good things
And fills my heart with song.
Even though I walk
Through a dark and dreary land,
There is nothing that can shake me. She has said She won't forsake me.
I'm in Her hands.
She sets a table before me
In the presence of my foes.
She anoints my head with oil
And my cup overflows.
Surely, surely goodness and kindness will follow me
All the days of my life
And I will live in Her house forever.
Forever and ever.
Glory be to the Mother and Daughter
And to the Holy of Holies.
As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be.
World without end. Amen.

Personal Life vs. Workplace Interaction
General | Posted 18 years agoI need to get this out there. I still feel like a piece of shit over this and I'm not sure where to go with it.
This past Saturday, I got a trainee named Chad. He seemed like a pretty cool guy, and we were already getting along really well. Not sure how well I taught him, but it hardly matters anymore. Explanation in a minute.
Chad ended up needing a ride home. He's poor and rooming with a prostitute downtown, so he doesn't own reliable transportation. I was more than happy to give him a ride there, and on the way we were just chatting about inconsequential things like we had all morning. As soon as we got near his house, he admitted his girlfriend is bisexual, and I just casually said, "So am I." He smiled at it and said "That's cool." then got outta the car and I drove off.
Next morning, I come in to find he'll be working with me again. At least, I thought so. No sooner had I come in than Heather, the manager on duty, pulls me to the back and said "It's come to my attention that you are bisexual and asked to have relations with Chad. You drove him home yesterday after you two got off, and I understand things were said." Naturally, I was totally confused at this point and I asked "Who said this?" Heather said Chad was behind it and that what I said counts as sexual harassment, which would mean immediate termination. I start thinking there has to be something wrong with the story. Chad's a good guy and he wouldn't try to get me fired.
Well, he comes in to work two hours later, gets pulled to the back with Heather, and in a few minutes he comes out furious because HE was fired for sexual harassment. I guess Heather's justification would be that he's trying to spread rumors about me in order to harm me and my reputation among coworkers.
At this point, I'm totally annoyed and more than a little suspicious. This job was the only thing Chad had going for him, and it just got pulled from him for what I believe was just a misunderstanding. Does it sound like anyone was harassing anyone else? No. And, to make me feel even more like a heel, all the managers come in and start hugging me and smothering me with "Are you okay?" and "Everything's gonna be alright." All I could think was "Please, God, get these people offa me. I've got work to do." I swear, now I know the support rape victims must get...
Some things here just don't add up.
A: What was said was said outside of work and should never have involved anyone from the restaurant. Even Heather said to me what happens in our personal lives is our business and our business alone.
B: Chad would not let something like this leak out. He was really nonchalant about my prior confession and he doesn't seem like a good actor to me.
C: The only way this sort of thing could be harassment is if the victimized party feels sexually threatened. I sure as hell didn't! Chad would rather have threesomes with his girl (which he claims has happened often) than stick himself in me, so what did I honestly have to fear from him knowing?
Well, I felt like shit over what happened all day and I never wanted either of us to be fired over a casual conversation outside the workplace. I got off an hour early (I guess Heather thought I would want some time for recovery. Dumb bitch.) so I went down to Chad's home to talk things over with him and be sure the record was set straight between me and him. Well, guess what? I found out a few things that made things feel even more suspicious.
He had come to work two hours early by accident and met up with Brian Lane, our maintenance worker on the weekends. He was sweeping the lot at the time, so Chad stopped to have a smoke and talk to him for awhile. Brian apparently asked him if I was bi, and Chad said "Yeah, as far as I know." and left it at that. He left after that to walk home and get a little more sleep before he had to work.
Also, he and Heather have obviously got bad blood between them. Heather does interview applicants from time to time, and interviewed Chad several times. Each time, she turned him down. He was eventually hired after an interview with Tammy, a different manager with craploads of seniority over Heather. With how gung-ho Heather was to fire either me or Chad, I wouldn't put it past her to simply use this as the perfect excuse to get rid of him.
After we talked and reconciled everything, he and I have agreed to do everything possible to set things right with work. As for me? I won't be able to stand it there much longer, not after what they did to a perfectly good employee and a new friend. If things aren't resolved soon, I'm just gonna put in my two weeks. I've been getting sicker and sicker of the place every day, and this is the final straw.
I plan to speak to either Laura (the head manager) or Mike (the owner) to see if maybe they can help me out and get all of this cleared up. I'm directly involved in this, so my words should hold more sway than anyone's. Also, Chad's got my cell number so he can update me on his situation.
I'm done. After this fiasco, I'm just done. I firmly believe the politics in that restaurant are gonna tear me down if I don't get the hell outta there. I'll do what I can to help Chad, then I'm gonna leave that place behind. No question.
Thank you for taking the time to read this workplace rant.

Facts About Gay Marriage
General | Posted 18 years agoTaken from
allester
1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.
2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.
7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.
9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.
11) Marriage has always been Christian/Catholic and never once stolen from druids and Hebrews like the Pentagram.
12) Even though "God loves all his children." he still kills them by the handful when they try to love each other.
13) People are attracted to the same sex by choice, not by birth. This means that any sort of attraction which causes a positive emotional stimulation, such as a liking for the taste of chocolate, is one which each individual chooses and is not naturally wired for.

Okay, now, let's be honest here. I still lean towards the ladies. I'm a Christian, born and bred. There are many people I know and respect who are totally anti-gay. Does any of this affect my feelings about gay rights?
Fuck, no! Gays have the right to love each other just as much as straight folks do. Marriage is not something that was first demonstrated by God, it was something humans made up to signify a deep sense of love and commitment to a significant other. Whoa, whoa, wait a second? ...Isn't that the only reason gay people want to marry in the first place?!
So please, support gay rights.
