Personal Fiasco - Also, Artist Feature!
General | Posted 8 years agoFirst off, check out the very cute artist:
vulpix3337
When I saw Vully add me to their watch list a few days ago, I instantly recognized the screen name from very, very long ago on DeviantArt. How long have I known of Vully? Well, before I knew anyone I regularly interact with these days (including Stampy).
Here are some pieces I think are cute and fun!

http://www.furaffinity.net/view/24530817/
I highly recommend watching Vully. ^^
Anyways, about a personal fiasco I'm having...
Wednesday my laptop started blue screening again. Apparently removing the RAM stick weeks ago didn't fix the problem like I thought I did.
Stampy has some things in mind for me to try to see what needs to happen to it, if anything can be done. But I'll get to it when I feel like devoting time to it. In the mean time, I have an old laptop set up for use now. Its dreadfully slow and also acts like my personal heater here in my room for the winter.
But it will serve me alright for now as I am basically treating my main laptop as a loss right now (it could be as bad as the motherboard failing). It would be devastating if I was still modding for Minecraft (cause I did it all from my laptop) but I ain't doing that anymore, so isn't as nerve racking. If anything, this is life's big way of forcing modding out of my life.
I have a LOT of commission projects in progress right now to be working on and I have managed to keep up with it. Its the social aspect of my life I'm behind on right now because of this fiasco, to make sure I keep up with commissions.
As a reminder, I do early access to my artwork on my Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/EclipsisStudios
You can see sneak previews to the pictures released on Patreon on my Twitter: https://twitter.com/EclipsisStudios
Until next time,

Ending Cluster Posts
General | Posted 8 years agoAs many of the watchers know, I tend to post pictures in large clusters at a time. The reason behind that was for drawing attention to my Minecraft modification work, which a mod update post would lead the cluster.
Now I am not longer regularly developing my Minecraft modification and don't have a reason to continue the cluster posts.
Expect more individual pictures posts from now on after the cluster posts I am doing today.

Notice: Commission Price Increase
General | Posted 8 years agoI am giving a formal notice that I am officially raising my commission rate from $15 per hour to $20 per hour.
The polished pictures I do accept on commission take about 3-5 hours to finish, depending on the content and difficulty. I usually won't accept a commission I think will take longer than that. ^^
Hope you all are doing well. Cause it would be faaaaaantastic!

My Patreon Page Has Been Released
General | Posted 8 years agoIf you followed my Twitter, you know I've had a Patreon page in the works. Now its released!
https://www.patreon.com/EclipsisStudios
It is mostly an early access place but does have an option to vote on future works depending on the tier signed up for. There are already 13 submissions to it already but even then, its just a drop in the bucket of what I have yet to post, not even including what I have set aside for the next submission batch.
Will probably annoy people to know this but its actually my Minecraft mod work that is the hang up for posting to FurAffinity. Production on the mod has basically frozen because of my involvement in drawing and a few other things. I've had to ration the few posts I still have left to post of it. To me, its important to use my art to help promote the mod here.
Patreon is all about the art so pieces will be posted almost immediately on its completion or scanning (in the case of WIPs). For the Polished and Finished tier, I will supply the original scan resolution to personal pictures. I always reduce them to some degree for FurAffinity.
I will be using Twitter to post teasers of submissions to Patreon in addition to full posts to FurAffinity when they do happen. Twitter is here: https://twitter.com/EclipsisStudios
Thanks for supporting me if you do! I highly appreciate it for me becoming more involved with art for a serious income I need to move on in life. ^^

Dedicated Twitter Account for Furry Stuff
General | Posted 8 years agoI created a dedicated twitter account for furry stuff. I was a little embarrassed people were linking to my Minecraft mod development account. ^^; I try to keep furry stuff separate from more normal things like that.
So here it is: https://twitter.com/EclipsisStudios
Not entirely sure what I will do with it right now but as you can see, it has a very attractive welcome banner. o3o'

The Submission Process For Here Explained
General | Posted 8 years agoI figured I would explain how I submit pictures to this gallery so people know what to expect, especially the newer people.
At random times I post at least 5 pictures in a cluster. Sometimes every few weeks. Sometimes over a month. Just depends on when I feel like it. The cluster is intended to appeal to the roughly three different audiences I have.
The first is always a Minecraft mod screenshot collection. So if you see that in your inbox by itself, you'll know at least four more actual drawings will follow. The Minecraft one is usually random with a little bit of some description about stuff going on in my Minecraft modification, Kindred Legacy.
As for the four drawings, I tend to do them like this.
Two are always between my regular commissioners,
VDO and
pkmndiamond493. Basically you are almost guaranteed a macro picture and a non-macro hyper picture.
Third is usually a commission from someone else and that varies. Though more often than not, this other commission is a macro one.
Fourth is a personal one and this varies greatly as to what it is. Could be macro, could be hyper, could be hyper macro in a non macro scene. could even be a non-fetish picture all together. The personal one from the last batch was this one which has quite a bit of buzz to it, far more than I was thinking it would get: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/23866840/
Then if I feel like it, I may post more in the batch and at that point anything is game.
May surprise people but the paw fetish is not considered part of the regular rotation so if there is a post with them, it happens. If not, oh wells.
Overall, I have a LOT of unposted stuff. At least about 25 pictures. You'd almost think I was treating my account like a Patreon thing but I ain't. xD I have considered Patreon though.
Kind of a journal to let you know why there are long periods of time between postings.

Bad Personal Crisis
General | Posted 8 years agoA few days ago, at our family business, which is one of my three jobs, a plumbing problem put a few inches of standing water in 1/3 of the used bookstore overnight. It's been a frantic scramble to save inventory and other storage (it all happened in the back of the store) while keeping the store somewhat open as it is starting to be our busy season.
After all, water + 100-150 year old books and about 5,000 $0.10-1.00 cover price comic books don't go well together at all.
Most of the most significant work is behind us as we have another company, hopefully insurance covered, doing the labor of moving our contents out to treat the building.
I've been moving stuff around for the last two days now, got a bad sunburn from standing outside for 5 hours trying to dry as best I could the comics yesterday (didn't know I was sunburned until after I was mostly done) and am aching from moving the vintage books around today (cause we don't want movers touching them). It was so bad the first night for me as my mind was still processing the comics while I was in bed trying to sleep (sorta like when you play a game too hard for too long). I'm dead tired.
I might be a bit quiet or withdrawn for a while. Just passing that on before going to bed. Have to be up early again to let the cleaners in again. Getting up at 7:30 a.m. isn't something I'm used to doing considering its not uncommon I go to bed at 4 a.m. from doing personal things.
Those on my Skype list can still get a hold of me, just might be slow to respond.

Considering New Traditional Method
General | Posted 9 years agoLately I'm been shown or am finding really nice pieces that make me highly envious of how they are done. Naturally all digital. While I am highly skilled with colored pencils and am normally not intimidated to mimic digital art, many of these pieces I've found I appreciate enough of how impractical they are to implement with colored pencils.
At the $15 rates I charge on commissions, they are not time effective and I know enough about my skill to know the finished quality would be comparatively poor compared to the digital pieces.
A few such pieces I am envious of are as follows:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14474597/ (recently attempted mimicking this one but didn't care too much for the results)
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/18817723
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/21460756/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/22622382/
So do I have a way around this? Yes I do. It's a little trick called paper dying.
hibbary has some great tutorials on how to do this on DeviantArt. I even attempted some at one point many years ago but never put my products to use.
Each of those four pictures above I know what sort of final dyed product I need to do any of them. (Scream's picture actually shows what I'd need very well, being a WIP) It's just a question of getting it in the first place. I would also need to use higher quality paper that could handle being in water. Couldn''t get away with dirt cheap computer paper there.
Part of me is bothered by this mixed media path in that I've long prided myself staying almost completely authentic to colored pencils. I even refuse to use white gel pen, a common "get out of jail free" technique for white highlighting.
But what I think I am most proud about all these years is that I am still a traditional artist and paper dying could let me keep up with digital artists while keeping up with exceptional quality I feeling . So many people that I envied their traditional work (particularly macro artists) have left it behind and basically never went back once they picked up the digital media. It saddens me a great deal.
In a way a picture being traditional can be big deal. I have only commissioned two digital pieces in my life. Everything else is traditional with the intend of obtaining the physical copy. Basically, if I can't obtain an only existing physical copy, I don't buy it (prints don't count).
SilverBirch is the only person I've bought pieces from over the last 3-4 years.
Saying that, yes, I could mail the physical copies of my own work to people at an additional cost. No one ever asks for them so I don't mention it but that is something I would do.

Picarto Streaming Account
General | Posted 9 years agoThis journal serves as a static post for people to see where I stream art. https://picarto.tv/Eclipsis
I almost never post stream notifications and they are almost always done along side
Stampy in multistreams so it is recommended to sign up for notifications with me.
It's also a very common place I take stream commissions if I am not working on anyone else's. I prefer very short, one sitting pictures and those tend to be either sketches or black paper art. I tell people I run a rate of about $15 and typical pictures with typical media tend to be around 3-5 hours; slightly longer for new people as I try to get a good feel about what they like most. Stream time is not the definitive clock and work time general scaled down from that.
If that interests you but you are on a budget, black paper space art is my quickest finished media.
Now I don't ALWAYS stream art. On occasion I do stream Minecraft mod work particularly when not streaming with Stampy, but I do try and limit it to something visual like animating or building models. And if possible, I like to entertain people who watched the modding streams with some drawing stream time near the end.
See you there if that interests you! ^^

Kindred Legacy MC mod out, PokemonMD's descendant
General | Posted 9 years agoSome may now already but I discontinued PokemonMD: Undaunted Heroes around the start of December. In its place I have been working on a recreation of it called Kindred Legacy for Minecraft 1.11. I have just released it yesterday: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forum.....t-mods/2779176
I might attempt a backport to 1.10 but no promises.
I hope to stay inspired for this "new" mod. Minecraft updates are not as brutal now as they were from 1.7.10 -> 1.8 -> 1.9. The name is new but in reality it is still the same mod, stripped of its Pokemon name to hopefully encourage non-Pokemon players to play it.
Admittedly, my personal play in Minecraft 1.11 feels pretty empty with no colorful, objective based mods that I can really find to play. So my heart sort of aches for the old 1.7.10 content so... maybe I might go back and continue PokemonMD but no promises there especially.
~Eclipsis
P.S. Also admittedly I've been very inactive here. I have tons of comments and submissions to go through. I dunno, I've just felt uninspired to maintain my account I guess. I'll see to that some time soon. I have TONS of backlog macro/hyper smut to post. I dunno why I'm so lazy to post it. c.c

Happenings: Lawsuit, Gaming, Arts, Mod Update
General | Posted 9 years agoI figured I might share some happenings. I have the topics labeled so if something perks your interest, you can read that bit. No need to read it all. ^^
Family Lawsuit
As some friends know, I have not really been getting paid from one of my two jobs, the immediate family bookstore one. They can’t afford to pay me and I’ve only been paid up through the first half of July, which was a measly $130 due to holidays and my severely cut hours.
Business has been extremely bad and we know exactly why. For the second year in a row, the major highway next to us where tourists and other passerby people would come to our business is under heavy construction; the first overhaul of the road and utilities in roughly 100 years. This was supposed to be completed last November. As you can see, it is mid-September and it is still not finished.
We know from a newspaper I also work for (and is paying me), a large reason for the delay is because of poor management practices and other problems such as workers refusing to work on weekends to make up for lost time or failing to show up at work at all. We caught wind of one business in the area planning to sue this construction company for the significant loss of business and my mom told me yesterday this is inspiring her to try and do the same.
If we could get a significant compensation for our business losses through the lawsuit, that would mean I could get back the over $2,000 the bookstore owes me in wages and a personal loan I lent. With that money I could nearly finish my Health Savings Account minimum needed amount to be exempt from monthly fees and be prepared for any medical emergencies.
Health Insurance
It’s no secret I hate Obamacare and other similar socialistic policies in America. My current insurance I have I pay nothing to due to Obamacare, insurance I never use but the company will be withdrawing from the market by the end of the year so I will no longer have it. I do not intend on finding another so come tax year, I will simply show I am so poor that I can be exempt from the Obamacare fine for not having insurance like I learned I could do last year.
I have a highly funded Health Savings Account. My lifestyle is stingy as heck so whenever my back account goes over a certain amount, that surplus goes straight into the account. I have little worry of health expenses. I’m healthy. My stingy lifestyle keeps me from living a completely trashy lifestyle. Not the best, but it works.
I know a lot of other Americans may have the problem of affording or qualifying for Obamacare. Do know you have the option to be exempt from that outrageous fine for a useless expense if your income is low.
Gaming Hard
Roughly the Sunday before last I caved in a picked up a childhood game, Final Fantasy VII, to play on a whim after watching a Let’s Play of Final Fantasy IV. Since then I have put in roughly 75 hours of gameplay in about 8 ½ days. It’s been a lot of fun to relive the piece.
But I told myself that today would be the last day I would allow myself to play it. I have to have finished all I want to do. All that remains that I want to do is obviously finishing the story (beat final bosses) but also do something I have never done before in the 8 or so times I’ve beaten the game: defeat the Emerald WEAPON (defeating the Ruby WEAPON doesn’t interest me or find worth it).
After that, I’ll get myself to do something else. I’ll do my best to stay away from Starcraft II which I’ve been itching to play through and finally play Legacy of the Void for the first time. I’ll try and do useful thins instead. Hehehe.
Some may know I also play League of Legends (hence all the references I make these days in my Minecraft modification). I play it once a day against AI games for a free in-game point bonus. I faithfully have not missed a day in probably close to two months now. Other than playing with friends over Skype now and then, that is all I do and not much more for League. I’ve kept it from being a huge time sink. ^^
Lots of Slutty Art to Post
I have tons of stuff to post. Just been too lazy to take the time to post it. I have well over a dozen to post, nearly all commissions done over the last 7 months or so. At some point I’ll get to it.
Just another reminder, I don’t bother taking the time to make public listings offering commissions. Historically it’s a waste of time as most of my commissions come from people I know on Skype. If you want something, just send me a note and I can see if it interests me. I just make sure to say that I tend to charge roughly $10 an hour. I ain’t one of those dirt cheap, begger artists.
Dedicated Pokémon Sun/Moon Update to My Minecraft Modification
I decided to make the Beta 1.1 update to PokemonMD: Undaunted Heroes a predominantly Sun/Moon/7th Generation themed update. Nearly every Pokémon addition made so far is from the 7th generation.
The current addition in the works is a Tamable, Death Blossom Lurantis. Thing is, combined with the new animation standards implemented this update, Tamables are massive time investment. I’d say it takes about three weeks to fully implement one. This Lurantis mob is taking even longer because it is a body build I am not used to working with. As of now, I still don’t know what to make the Lurantis do for certain. I’ve been so busy with just movement and idle animations.
Just today, I see the Coro Coro leaks revealed the evolution to Rockruff, another Pokémon I wanted to make a tamable out of when it came time. So… yah, probably another three weeks’ worth of time to invest. c.c’
As for one other hostile mob planned, Tempest Vikavolt, that project is still stuck due to lack of interest. Another recent new mob idea is Unknown Type: Null, a reference to the Unknown type monsters in Final Fantasy VII, inspiration courtesy my current play through of it.
Final Thoughts
I hope everyone reading this is well. Sorry for lack of activity. If anything you can visit my favorites to see what I’ve been looking around at throughout the weeks. ^^
Until next time,
~Eclipsis

General | Posted 9 years agoAnyone else getting really tired/annoyed with the nearly daily spam of journals from artists selling stuff, commissions, YCH and auction reminders (despite being prohibited), con attendances, livestreams, and whatever other thing people are trying to do to sell you stuff or similar crap?
I am poor man. All those journal notifications are worthless to me. -.- I wish FA had an option to turn off journals from certain people.

Suggestions for a Mob Drop?
General | Posted 9 years agoI am kinda stuck on a new mob I'm adding for the next update to my Minecraft modification: Zergling Nincada, Raptor Zergling Nincada, and Crackling Nincada. All are references to StarCraft II. Seen below respectively:
http://sta.sh/01czloaltbjl
I don't know what items to have dropped from these guys. Or what simple useful items to make and add to the mod other than one for Crackling Nincada to make this extremely tough version rewarding to defeat.
Any suggestions for an item drop from any of you?
I have ruled out Spider Eyes and Slimeballs as I consider these useless drops. Crackling Nincada's drop will be an item specific to Poketamables to temporarily boost their combat potential.

PokemonMD mod may be discontinued
General | Posted 9 years agoA few months back I told myself if after the release of the next update, Beta 1.0, if the mod failed to get 500 downloads in the first 30 days after the update the mod would be discontinued. For a mod of its size, scale, and time put into it over 3 ½ years, that is an abysmally low number to set as a goal.
Roughly 11 days in, it’s managed 46. Roughly half of how much the previous update, Alpha 0.6, was doing after 11 days. The mod is showing an inverse relationship. As the quality improves, people’s interest in it declines. With that, I’ve decided to honor the goal. After about 19 days, PokémonMD: Undaunted Heroes will likely, officially be discontinued.
What will I do afterwards? Not for sure. I will likely continue doing mod work but it won’t be for PokémonMD. It will also likely still be my own mods, not work for someone else.
But before PokémonMD is discontinued, if that happens, I promise to release the Beta 1.1 Prototurret Update as a sort of going away gift to those few who did enjoy the mod.
So until then,

Social Stuff
General | Posted 9 years agoI added a footer to my journals showing my other social locations. Unfortunately for most here, I don't post my smut (most of my gallery) anywhere else, so if this place goes, my stuff is down until FA comes back. And my black market content is not posted by me anywhere, only by those commissioners. So don't think I still have a secret account lying around.
One thing I'll point out about how I treat my DeviantArt account is that there is some stuff posted there that is not posted here... yet. I deliberately have a high latency on some of my submissions there.
Twitter is almost exclusively for my Minecraft modification related updates and comments.
I also forgot to mention, I have graduated from college and it feels good being free.... even if I still have nightmares about having to do homework. c.c

Mostly Inactive for Now
General | Posted 9 years agoJust dropping a journal saying I've been fairly inactive for the last month or so on here. I have messages and notes built up that I have not really taken the time to go through.
Almost done with college. Yes. COLLEGE. Not just the school semester. Finally, after 10 years I'm getting a 4-year degree.
I've been spending much of my free time playing League of Legends because I love many of the characters in that game. Ahri and Kindred being my favorites. <3 I just wish I didn't suck herm-balls at the game. X3
I imagine once I grow tired of LoL I'll have a rekindled spirit to return to my Minecraft modification which is on vacation right now.
I have TONS of art that needs to be posted but I'll get there eventually. c.c So don't go nowhere now.

Question For People Who Beat Super Mystery Dungeon
General | Posted 10 years agoI recently beat Super Mystery Dungeon and played up the big treasure collecting quests. But I want to know if there is more story to the game after that.
The reason I ask is that I really want to start over and play through the whole adventure again. I absolutely loved the story and I want to experience it all over again. It was very emotional to play through and I think it's the best Mystery Dungeon game they ever made.
I want to make a personal review to the game to maybe encourage others to try it out too at some point.
So is there any more story to see after the treasure hunting quests begin? I don't want to research it on the Internet because I don't want to come across spoilers. I want a more tame, conservative reply.

Created a Twitter Account for Modification Updates
General | Posted 10 years agoHello all. I created a Twitter account which I hope to update either daily or every other day on what I did for my personally required 15 minutes a day work on my Minecraft modification.
I created the account here: https://twitter.com/SpikybumJolteon
I don't write many updates about the mod in places other than the Minecraft forums so as not to annoy the smut watchers too much.
Now that this is more public, I better make the progress more meaningful each time. o3o
Looking at my journal history, I see I've definitely cut down on writing tons, usually useless, journals over the last few years.

Dilemma with Disciples of Corruption
General | Posted 10 years agoWith so much work I have done over the months for Disciples of Corruption, I decided to create a list with how much is left for the next update, Alpha 1.0. My heart just sank as the list just seemed to go on and on with stuff, almost to the point that if felt like I have not done much at all since the last update in February I think it was.
I do feel really discouraged at this point. I even started wandering off and messing around with non-Disciples of Corruption modding. At this point I am thinking about doing one of three things for the mod’s immediate future.
1) Release an Alpha 0.6 update instead
This would release essentially all content not related to the three major additions in Alpha 1.0 (the Prototurret, Foxfire Zorua, and Sun Idol Espeon; the Vespene Condenser and Tablet Manufactory would also be put on hold).
Mobs released with this update would include:
~Clay Luxio
~Clay Shinx
~Cujo Furfrou
~Cuotl Ekans
~Scrubby Darmanitan
~Vegnagun Dustox
Other changes include nearly all mob drops being rebalanced or changed in some way. Some spawns have also been changed. This update I could probably push out in about 1-2 weeks, depending on how difficult Vegnagun Dustox is to finish, how much testing I can get in to test game balance, and any changes in setting up the newest version of Forge and moving the mod to it.
2) Break Alpha 1.0 into two halves
Releasing a first half of Alpha 1.0 would include all of the above plus the Prototurret, which is mostly done, and half of Foxfire Zorua which right now is just like a fancy Wolf (it doesn’t have an inventory yet). Another issue for this version to be addressed before releasing it is that I do not have the way to tame Foxfire Zorua added yet.
Sun Idle Espeon would be completely withheld from this version too. Sun Idol Espeon is important in acquiring Foxfire Zorua because it guarantees a needed item drop that is otherwise a rare drop from tough mobs that do not spawn all that often.
The mod at this point will be so massive that I think it will require its own Wiki site because there is too much content for the Minecraft forum page. I have an idea of where to host the Wiki but I have to learn how to use it, design the pages, and carry over all of the documentation in addition to the new content documentation.
This approach would take about 4-6 weeks to put out I would estimate.
3) Keep Alpha 1.0 whole
Pretty much this would be keep doing what I am doing and release all the content together as a very symbolically special update for Disciples of Corruption. Those special content are: action based animation, the first minor boss tier enemy, and the mod’s first tamable.
I would guess the release date would be no sooner than December, depending on what happens with Fall schooling and how much my attention continues to wander from the mod.
I am contemplating putting these options up for a vote over the next few days. What do you think?

I need a new icon...
General | Posted 10 years agoHow many of you think I need a new icon?
It's kinda one of those things I ignore having all the time. It doesn't even represent my interests anymore. I hate PewDiePie now. xD
Yet at the same time, I feel like it has to be animated but I am in no mood to make a new animated one. c.c
Epic fail.

Financial Mess
General | Posted 10 years agoIt has been off and on good and bad. My four week summer break came and went; spent a lot of time on the Minecraft modification. I played and finished Pokémon Omega Ruby (very good game). I picked up League of Legends yet again for a small past time all because I am obsessed over the champion, Ahri (but I am a terrible player).
Some of you might know that of my two part time jobs, one is for our family business, a used bookstore. It is not doing very well in the last few months because of significant road construction. The construction is expected to last until the end of November. That is a long time to weather bad business and I have been asked to cover more expenses than usual using money from my other job. I was told yesterday that the family job is three semi-monthly paychecks behind on paying me.
Well, if that was all of the problems, I would be fine, but I have a more serious concern coming up in a few months. My financial aid for my final semester is only going to cover 1/3 of my school expense, leaving me to come up with the other $2,000 plus books (the school jacked up tuition this next semester by $20 a credit hour). I do have enough to weather even that but I am more concerned in the long run after that. I won’t have much to spare in case something serious does happen.
I still wish there was a way to get a return off of my Disciples of Corruption modification but I don’t really see any. The ad revenue I do earn is about $.40 a month. I looked at Patreon but I do not see very prolific mods doing very well there. My mod isn’t prolific in the slightest in the grand scheme of things. Still, it is a big part of my life. I work on it every day for at least 15 minutes but usually more than that.
If anyone might have a suggestion on what I could do to try and get a return on my modification, I would love to hear it.

Do many people actually care about my Minecraft stuff?
General | Posted 10 years agoI know there are a few that do but I am not sure if there are much more. Or is it just annoying trash in people's inboxes? I try to only post pictures along side actual drawings rather than favoring one type over the other.
Sometimes I feel like I spend too much time writing descriptions no one really reads anyways. At the same time, I am leery of asshole admin's trigger happy fingers possibly deleting my content without warning again, destroying all my time writing descriptions, notes, and comments.
If it does happen again, I don't intend on posting them ever again to FurAffinity. Even if they really are my creation at every level of the development. Modeling. Texturing. Animating, Behavior coding. Sound mixing. That still has not changed.
