c-19 vaccination - 24 hours later
Posted 4 years agoAs I started typing this, it's been exactly 24 hours since I had my first of two Moderna C-19 vaccinations. I had to drive a little over an hour south to the CVS pharmacy in Greenwood, SC to get it, as there were no appointments available closer.
I was a little tender in the shoulder at the injection site after receiving the vaccination. By the evening, it was painful to use my left arm. I took a Tylenol, which alleviated a lot of the pain.
This morning I struggled to get out of bed, and have low energy. I also have sinus congestion and associated headache, both of which are not unusual for me. The only soreness with my arm is if I press on the injection site.
I have no other symptoms, except for a strange protrusion growing from the base of my spine.
Maybe I need to drink more coffee.... LoL

2021 fursuit price increase and European commissions.
Posted 4 years agoThanks to the additional tariffs levied on Chinese imports, the price of faux fur has been steadily increasing during last year, and thanks to Covid, many furs (colors and types) have become difficult to find. This forces me to depend more on west coast distributors, which results in higher shipping costs for raw materials. Unfortunately, this means I have to raise my pricing schedules to compensate for these cost increases. It's not something I want to do as I want to keep my prices that I feel are reasonable and fair.
Also, I will be unable to take on international commissions due to VAT/Customs complications with shipping. However, I will entertain international commissions with convention pick up.

Pandamonium has been sold
Posted 6 years agoPandamonium has been adopted by a new owner near San Francisco, CA. I'm sure the new owner will give him a new name.
He's a beautiful work of art and I hate to part with him, but I never really connected to him. If I ever make it out to BLFC again, I hope to see him there.
Thank you everyone for all your wonderful comments when I have posted photos of him.

Fursuit price increases for 2019
Posted 6 years agoI try to keep my prices as low as possible so my products are affordable.
Unfortunately, the cost of materials, particularly faux fur, continue to rise. And that means I'll have to raise my prices in January to cover those increased costs.
Here is my current price list. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/19797945/
E-mail me at Eddie_Bear50[at]yahoo.com to get a price quote and get in the queue before the price increase!

Updates...
Posted 7 years agoI'll be at Anthrocon next weekend, staying at the Courtyard, arriving late Wednesday afternoon, and leaving Monday morning, hopefully before the mass exodus clogs up the elevators. Check my icon if you wonder which suits I'm bringing, and that includes a mystery suit....
will be there with me for part of the time, debuting her new Kilala suit that I just completed as a companion to InuYasha. I just hope security doesn't have issues with me wielding a 5 foot Tetsauiga.
Unfortunately, the price of faux fur has gone up AGAIN and most affordable distributors won't take half yard orders anymore, resulting in me having to raise my fursuit prices to compensate. Any one all ready on my queue board are safe.

BLFC 2018
Posted 7 years agoYes, I got my arm twisted good, and so I will be attending BLFC 2018. I'm looking forward to seeing furriends that I only see there, and all my other furriends, too.
I'll be arriving in Reno Thursday afternoon, leaving Sunday morning, and room sharing with two of my besties.
Who am I taking? My avatar should be a good clue.

Cons for next year - Room share for FE??
Posted 8 years agoUPDATE: FE is a go.
I've been looking onto my conventions for next year, and balancing monies along with vacation schedule.
Ichibancon, ACE, FE, TFF, FWA, Anthrocon and MFM are definitely on the books.
I am seriously thinking about attending AnthroNW after hearing all the good things from last year.
I probably won't make BLFC this year.

Posted 8 years agoThat's what I need to raise before next Friday to beat my goal for this year's Relay for Life.
That's only $100 more than I raised last year..
Let's give someone a fighting chance to beat cancer.
$144
That's just 12 of you donating $12 each.
Or 24 people donating just $6 each
Or one very generous fur donating $144 (THANK YOU!!)

TFF and FWA
Posted 8 years agoSince I'm flying to TFF, I'll only be taking Fu Manchu, Cotton Candy and SabreKatz. I'll be arriving late Thursday and flying home on Monday.
FWA I will pretty much be bringing everyone because of the theme and builder's photo shoots.
Once again, I'll be hosting the Fursuit Cleaning panel on Friday at 3 pm.
And here's another shameless plug for donations to the American Cancer Society.. Only one month left and $140 needed to beat my goal. $240 to beat last year's donations.
Click on the link in the footnote to donate.

The doctors visit
Posted 8 years agoUgh, the dreaded visit to the doctor. Not your favorite thing to do. But you’ve been feeling run down for several weeks now. Last week you lost about 10 pounds, and food just doesn’t taste good anymore. The doctor takes blood, and puts you through a barrage of tests and x-rays.
Then comes the diagnosis - you have cancer.
The good news, there’s a new kind of treatment that uses your body’s own immune system to fight the cancer. No hair loss, no nausea, and it works better than Chemotherapy did. It was discovered with help from funding by the American Cancer Society.
The day comes for you to go in for your treatment. “Don’t drive” the doctor tells you, “get someone to bring you.” But no one can, so they send a driver to take you. They’re a cheerful person, won’t accept any money. “Why not?” you ask. “I’m a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, and they pay for the gas I need to transport people to and from their treatments.”
You’re back home now. Groggy from sitting in a chair for 2 hours while the medicine was fed to you intravenously. There’s no one to talk to, you’re feeling a little depressed. “Why me?” you ask. No one in your family has ever had cancer. All you want to do is talk to someone. You see the card that the driver gave you, and dial the number that’s on it. An attentive person listens to your concerns, answers all your questions, has you feeling better in no time and is going to send over some snacks and vitamin drinks to get you back up on your feet. All at no cost to you courtesy of the American Cancer Society.
You too can indirectly help others with cancer through your donations, whether it’s by giving a ride or food, talking to someone on the phone or helping to fund ground breaking research. The money you donate helps to provide these services and more. You give hope to those going through cancer treatments, and a fighting chance to live.
Please help me beat my fundraising goal and donate today. It doesn’t take a big donation, just a few dollars is all it takes to help someone.

Starving artist...
Posted 8 years agoOnce again it begins...
Posted 9 years agoNow that the election is over, lets focus on something a little more life threatening.. The big C word.
It's a horrible disease, and most of you don't give a crap about it until either you or someone in your family gets diagnosed with it..
And then you wish you could have done something sooner...
So do something NOW to help fight cancer, or help those who are fighting it. Just a couple of bucks will go a long way towards helping someone.

Cancer is no laughing matter.
Posted 9 years agoYou've seen me solicit donations for my Relay walks to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Now I'm asking you to help a fellow fur directly.
Has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Without surgery, the cancer could spread, and eventually kill her.
So come on, help her out. Just a few $$ from each of you could make a difference.
If you can't, at least give her a signal boost and show her your support.
