I told myself I would... but then over the weekend I spent a lot of time working on the SV_Battlers for my RPG. Hmm...
Well, it's not a total loss. I posted some of my progress. Which, it's really the first pixel art I've committed to since... since I worked on an RPG in high school, half my life ago.

My girlfriend saw it and thought of an interesting idea of taking the image and cross-stitching it. Then she wondered if there was some kind of market for people who'd want their characters pixelated in some kind of action pose, then cross-stitched. Of course, the cross-stitching would take some time, (as it's not a slow process) and it would be shipped, but it seems interesting.
So... wait... what was I saying?
Ah yes, so I need practice with pixel art. Mostly because instead of reading up on tutorials and watching videos about how to do it, I just made up my own method, and it seems to work in one way or another. However, those three frames of Kreyshi took me about five hours. Which, of course is a bit longer than I'd like. Meaning I need to work on making it faster.
So I might offer some freebies of this. Characters pixelated and poised for battle!
Who'd be interested in that?
For that matter, would anyone be interested in a commission type that includes three frames of a combat-ready character, or character action (like punching or kicking)?

Rejoice, for I am tired of drawing ponies for a while!
Back to anthros, it is. Anthros with sexy bodies. Mostly ladies, as per usual, but we'll see what all I have in store as it goes on.
Meanwhile I do have a few things to finish that I sort of let fall behind. Seems I work best when I do what I need to immediately, else it sort of... disappears. *Sheepish chuckle.*
So, who here enjoys the month-long YCH fests?
When I started the one for October, I almost didn't think I had it in me. However, I surprised and delighted myself when I came through, completing 31 YCHs for 31 days of October. Now I've done the same for January, and it has, in fact, gotten easier.
Granted, Horror seems to hold a much greater appeal than ponies... but I think it's mostly where I'm at. I haven't added up my JanuPony earnings yet, but I believe they are about half of what I made during October.
I think the next month to have the treatment is May... then perhaps August... then back around to October.
Anyone have any really good ideas for May or August? At first I think August could be all about eating things... but that's pretty close to horror, and a whole month of vore does seem like it'd be lacking in variety.
Mmm... I've gone on a ramble.
For those of you who did rather like the ponies, they're still available on call for commissions.

The kind that could whip up some fairly decent SV Battlers for RPG Maker MV?
See, I'm working on this project (quietly) and I just spent an inordinate amount of time creating an 80x80 battler for a rabbit mage... and in my opinion it looks a little bit... shit.
See, I'm not a fan of the chibi look of the character generator stuff, so I've been working out a lot of other appearances. Even working on my own generator items so that I won't have to manually create every rabbit in my game. There's a lot of them. I can do that... I'm "okay" at it... but when I found some battlers similar to how I wanted to make mine, and then went and tried, I realize I'm really not too swift when it comes to this thing.
Side View Battlers. Almost like retro video game fighting figures. Probably need someone with MUGEN experience... and who the hell plays that anymore?
Two main characters. A mage, and a martial artist, and they're both bunnies. I grabbed some chun li for inspiration on the one, 'cause she wears a qipao too.
Ah, enough of that. Any Pixel Artists out there reading this? I could pay.

Like where two artists who are also RP'rs post images back and forth as a means of playing.
Like each image is the panel of a comic book... or a piece in a long series of sequential art.
Just something I'd like to do someday... but it's something that I don't even know how to approach or seek out.
Anyway... I'll get back to what I was doing...

The torsos went so well, yes! Still, I was thinking that maybe you'd be interested in some cel-shaded headshots for a dollar or two each. Yes? No?
I've actually been practicing them on paper, and I think I've discovered a new (to me) manner of construction lines that make them hold better weight and value as an image.
Yes, I usually offer things like this for zero dollars, but I want to have a little fund to get my girlfriend something special for X-Mas, (so nobody go poke her about this.) So I leave it up to you how much you want to give for a headshot, but it must be at least 1 dollar.

General | Posted 8 years agoI woke up today and went to do some art and uh... well, yeah.
I'm trying to put together some YCHs to post up for another rush. Like, I got one with an exploding sleigh and a character in the foreground trying to hide a rocket launcher.
Anyway, I uh...
I forgot how to draw faces... and heads.
I don't quite know how this happened, but I do the circle for the base and it's all just uh... gone.
I tried a few for practice and they look like they were drawn by someone else. The style is a lot different.
Has this happened to anyone else before? You think you know how to draw something, and then suddenly it's just gone?
*Grumble, grumble.*
Anyway, yeah... what bazooka? I was thinking of doing a few post-Christmas themed, and throw in a bunch of Winter-styled ones for January, but uh... if I can't draw heads... I don't know what to do.
Guess I gotta go back to practicing random stuff.

Each person has a different shape and body type! Right?
Well, yeah!
So I'm giving people a chance to just... have their character's naked torso drawn.
All you need to do to enter is...
Characters Name:
Character Reference: (Can be written or visual.)
Nude, Barbie, Undies, or Clothes: (If enough undies/clothes are requested, a separate torso sheet will have these to be a General rating.) The difference between nude and barbie is that bits may be shown on nude.
IMPORTANT NOTES
1: If you use a BASE for your ref, you are less likely to be drawn. Like a Waitress base, or a Mixi base. I was original body types.
2: If you're not that great at drawing and you present me with a stick figure (or close to) base, please include in your comment a written description of your character's body type.
3: This is not a RAFFLE this is a SELECTION. Most characters will probably be drawn.
4: If you are not watching me, I won't accept your reference.
5: I will not respond to your entry unless I want you to correct something to enter correctly.
6: Yes, you will be notified VIA shout when I post your torso in an image. Yes, you may repost the image as a whole on your account, as long as you link back to me or the original.

Updates and Questions

So I've been busy emptying out a storage bin I was using while making my move to this lovely town I'm living in, (and I'll be happy for not having to pay for it anymore,) and generally sorting out all of my stuff. So that's mostly where I've been.
I've also been practicing anatomy, because I still feel that I have a lot to learn with it. LOOK AT THESE TORSOS I DID FOR PRACTICE!
I really ought to kick myself into practicing male anatomy though, because most of the males I've drawn (most) kinda look like potato sacks.

QUESTION! If I made a calendar for next year, do you think anyone would be interested in it? Would using the sexy ladies theme be doing something that's just too played out? What could I do instead?
QUESTION! I came across my ex's old fursuit partial, and it's in pretty good condition! She hasn't touched the storage in 2 years, despite having the key and access, so I assume she doesn't want it. Where is the best place to sell an old used fursuit partial?
Anyway, I was considering doing another month-long YCH thing, but the problem is that there aren't any upcoming holidays I'm fond of. Just call me Mr. Grinch. I was thinking of doing a month of all chibis for YCHs, but I can see the theme running its course pretty quick.
January's a good month for maybe some kind of snow theme, just as March would probably be good for spring-time antics... not sure. What do you think?

So I've been busy emptying out a storage bin I was using while making my move to this lovely town I'm living in, (and I'll be happy for not having to pay for it anymore,) and generally sorting out all of my stuff. So that's mostly where I've been.
I've also been practicing anatomy, because I still feel that I have a lot to learn with it. LOOK AT THESE TORSOS I DID FOR PRACTICE!
I really ought to kick myself into practicing male anatomy though, because most of the males I've drawn (most) kinda look like potato sacks.

Yes. I know I'm going to do another 31 YCHs next October. I loved it.
I also might do a 31 YCHs of Spring in March.
HOWEVER if you want gory, bloody, messy, horrifying art from me before next October, I suggest commissioning me.
I will not be doing YCHs like that on a regular basis. I'm an avid practitioner of drawing in themes. As many of you already know from following me for my free art, I like to stick with one theme for a bit, then drop it and move on to something else.
If I do post some YCHs, they'll probably be back to what I usually YCH. Sexy pin-ups, tentacles, and other misc. porn.
Stay tuned for the future!
I intend to finish up a bit of work, then it on to FREE SKETCHES again! Going with the theme of HOBBIES!
