Posted 10 years agoI realize it's been a while since I posted anything. But, I've been working on some samples and will be opening commissions soon for one purpose. A very gifted artist, melaniecaffrey, is at risk of losing her house. Next week, I will be posting a few samples of my art and opening for commissions. All proceeds will be sent to melanie. I am currently in the process of redesigning one of my old characters, Sihlo. Linked below are several pictures of one of my cats who I will be basing her new design on. What I need are pictures of her. So, if you are an artist (or know one) who would like to draw something of her, please contact me with your prices.
Please note that I am not able to spend more than $30 on a picture. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

A little history behind this picture. Exactly one year ago today, I adopted a newborn puppy who, for whatever reason, was no longer being fed by his mother. He was a day old when I brought him home with me to hand raise. Every vet I spoke with told me that hand-raising a puppy that young was very difficult, time-consuming and that very few pups survived. I'll admit, I was a little discouraged at hearing this, but I still kept at it and took the time to bottle-feed him as often as needed (thankfully, at the time, I had a work-from-home job I could easily take breaks from long enough to properly take care of him), kept both him and his bedding area clean and warm, and took him to regular visits to the vet to ensure I was doing everything possible to keep him healthy.
Now, over a year later, he is not only still a live, but a fully grown, healthy dog. He's not quite as big as I imagined he'd be (due to his mother's breed/size), but more the perfect size dog for apartment living.
As for the pic itself, it's more a compilation of two different pictures. The one on the left is one I took of him a few days after bringing him home. The one on the right was taken a couple days ago.

Now I'm not entirely certain what different breeds are in this little mutt, but I do have an idea of most of them.
The ones I've been able to figure out (based on his parentage) are
Father: Shih Tsu, Chihuahua, Pekinese, Poodle
Mother: Basset Hound, Collie, Pitt Bull, Retriever (plus likely a few other breeds mixed in. Those are the only ones I know for certain)
As soon as I'm able to get FA to upload the above picture, I'll remove this journal post.

1. Do you and your "fursona" look alike?
For the most part. She's got my eye color and about the same height as me (or she would be if drawn plantigrade), and approximately the same build.
2. Do you and your "fursona" share attires?
Pretty much. A couple of the clothing styles I've drawn her in I don't, personally, own, but wouldn't mind getting similar clothes for myself.
3. Do you share the same sexuality as your fursona?
Yeah.
4. If you changed your fursona to be more like you, how do you think he/she would look?
Probably the only thing I'd change would be her hair. Didn't think it'd look to great to have a black furred fox with short black hair. That's just too much, had to throw some color in there.
5. Did you work hard to develop your fursona? What is the (brief) history of your fursona?
Somewhat. I did go through a lot of different designs and species, mostly me just trying to go with something that wasn't over-used. But, eventually, got myself narrowed down to either a fox or some species of feline. Finally, decided a multi-tailed kitsune would suit me just fine.
6. Do you and your fursona share relationship status?
Pretty much. I've never drawn her with another character or in a relationship and I, myself, am single. Though, whether I will put her in a relationship when I get into one....not sure on that one, yet. Guess it depends on whether my boyfriend/girlfriend is into all this as I am.
7. Do you find yourself jealous or upset if you get paired with someone you don’t like or your partner does?
Never really happened to me, so couldn't say how I'd react.
8. How would you like your character NOT to be used?
Without my permission, of course. Giftarts are fine and all, but I'd prefer no porn. Tasteful nudity is fine, but that's the extent of it.
9. What’s your fursona’s specialty?
She's really good with computers and technology, she's also got a few magical abilities. Haven't really narrowed it down to what she can do exactly.
10. On a scale of 1-10, how much are you and your fursona alike?
Probably nine. Other than the hair, we're pretty much the same. I mean, there are a few differences, but those are mostly stuff I'd like to try and gain myself. She's a little more muscular and fit than I am, but it's not a huge difference and I am working to fix that.

Make a post in your journal containing your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple to really big. The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
If you wish for real-life things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where folks could get in touch with you.
Step 2
Surf around other lists to see who has posted their list. If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream for free--do it. You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

1. Help out our animal brothers and sisters. There's a ton of ways to do this. Donate whatever you feel you can afford to a reputable animal charity. Gather up old, soft blankets you might not be using anymore and donate them to the local no kill shelter. You could also drop off unopened bags/cans of food, or inexpensive toys. (Most pet stores have a discount bin just for this purpose this time of year) Offer to help out at the local shelter, even if you can only do 1 day a week. Every little bit helps. If you are able and willing, adopt one of the many, many animals who have no people to watch over them. There's nothing like having an animal companion in your life, and they are incredibly grateful for a loving person and a safe home.

2. Art. I would love to get some pictures done of my fursona, Edyn and my friend's character, Adema. Note me for refs.

5. Anything featuring Cheshire Cat (2010 version) or Beetlejuice. These are two of my favorite fictional characters.
6. For a friend in Upstate South Carolina. Seriously, I need at least one person to hang out with every once in a while. Even if it's just to go see a movie or go for a walk with. I don't care. I just need someone to talk to. (again, copied from Bir only because I really do need someone to spend time with during the day so I'm not constantly alone)
