I usually don't participate in inktober/drawtober etc because it's in the middle of my school quarter, but this year I want to try to do a november project c:

I'm going to try to at least do 2 drawings a week (or equivalent) of my own, and I'm also going to open up for discounted themed commissions, and officially for themed art trades (you pick the theme, whether its nihon (japan) or neko themed), or something specific under that umbrella).

I guess somebody made a callout post about that most recent submission and got their account suspended? Some issue about child pornography...or something. Just wanna throw out there that I totally don't support child porn or like, anything in that vein honestly I don't know enough about it to specify but yknow. It hurts my heart that people would attack art and illustrations for something like that, and even worse that people would attack an artist and call them sick or encourage them to seek therapy. The piece in question was done in a "chibi" style, aka big head, big eyes, little body PER the agreement with the character's owner. If the character were to be standing I think anyone would see that the development of the breasts and elongated legs isn't something you could see on a child! I think the issue may be that the character has doll-like eyes rather than anime eyes, which can be a little off-putting to some! The doll-style is something I've gotten a lot of professional attention about from zines and art professionals, and while it is celebrated in some circles, I see that FA is not the place to showcase that vein of art.

But just to clear up for anybody who like...cares. yeah it's really not a kid. it's just a chibi. I've blocked submission comments indefinitely because I really don't...need that kind of drama! I apologise to anybody who is offended by me trying out different art styles, I really never intend to harm anyone or disseminate any kind of socially unacceptable or controversial themes :c

Sorry I was gone for like a week! I had to pack up and move all my stuff back home from atlanta TwT it's been a very stressful few weeks and i am glad to finally be able to rest.

so my main oc (not a sona....don't have a sona!) Khai is usually referred to as a cat-dragon, since her design is based on a few features from each. However she's really her own kind of species and I've been able to nail down some culture/history for the species and some traits so that I might be able to make some adoptables. my spring break is next week so i would be able to start a guide and maybe do 2 or 3 adopts...just trying to guage for interest right now though.

if anybody is big in the adoptables/closed species circle i'd love some advice on marketing and stuff.

Speaking of constuff, i'm trying to sell at metrocon in florida this year if anyone is interested!! apps dont open till february but I'm working on some samples. If anyone has suggestions about anime/etc. that's popular right now I'm totally open to new products...I focus on keychains, stickers, and patterns for printing onto like, lanyards and pencil cases and stuff, since with school I usually dont have time to do full prints with backgrounds on large files. Hey, I realize that before i was posting about one or two pieces of artwork a week and since the beginning of September I've pretty much stopped altogether :c

Don't worry, there's nothing wrong, I've just been focusing a lot on school work (which means drawing from life for 6 to 8 hours a day! That's a lot of going out and just sitting places and drawing :O ) so I haven't had a lot of time for FA stuff. This upcoming week I'm going to be trying to scan some of my schoolwork and posting the relevant stuff here and the rest to my artblog (egglantis.tumblr.com)

That being said, hopefully once things calm down a little bit I'll have more time to work on personal projects. Right now the biggest thing is preparing my sketchbook for CalArts next fall, which I'll be sending in December. So, because of that I'm not as active as I probably could or should be.
