I'm back! New year (and future cons)
General | Posted 9 months agoHello everyone!
Thank you for the influx of watchers while I was away finishing my degree! I have now completed my Bachelor and couldn't be happier.
I have taken on art as a part time career, as much as I can handle. Part of what that entails is my dealing at my first furry convention! FurDU is in early April and fast approaching. I will have stickers, pins, hand-painted decor, magnets, badges and coasters. In addition I will have my full range of original paintings including canvases. I will also be submitting paintings into the state show, the EKKA as I have the past two years. While I will be busy with art this year I am keen to reopen commissions at the start of next month. Come along and see me in person if you are local, Australian based or attending FurDU.
A new year brings new YCH oppertunities! What sort of YCH would you like to see this year? I am compiling a bunch of hobby related pieces, a pair hiking and camping are currently being sketched.
I will be uploading a mass amount of work that I have completed over the break, it is good to be back.

Updates!
General | Posted a year agoHello everyone!
Thank you all for your continued support during my abscence. I am graduating in a few months and finally at the end of 6 years of study. It is a very surreal feeling, and has not left me much time for anything outside of University! I haven't had much time to camp, bird watch, even visit nature and it has been taking a toll. My favourite form of therapy is simply existing in beautiful country, and while I have been travelling a lot to complete studies , it is not the same. I will be taking time off once I graduate, either to work or before I continue with my Master's degree.
My harddrive is failing but everything is backed up, and I have an ex-work one in my PC at the moment, to buy time before we replace it soon. I strive for more work-life balance, and hope that once university is finished I will be able to create again. I am doing reletively well health wise despite the stress! I will have more paintings to share with you all soon~
Kind regards,
Eiolf

New year, new goals
General | Posted 2 years agoHello everyone!
With the start of the Year of the Dragon it has been a very hectic few months already. I took some time off to camp, travel and hike places I have never been before. It was an amazing experience I cannot wait to head back to when time allows. I have begun my final year, now I am slated to start work in the industry in August this year. I have mainly been focusing on my studies so I can ensure that there is no delay for my graduation. I have been under a large amount of stress this past month. I am grieving for my grandmother's passing, as well as the passing of a friend after his long battle with cancer. It has highlighted the importance of telling those close to you that you love and care for them, as well as the importance of having a will written.
While I cannot pause my studies, I will be tabling at as few events as possible this year. I have slated myself for two multi-day conventions this year (with a third pending), two local half-day markets and a rural single day event that I have never vended at before. With all my duties the time to create personal art has dried up! It serves as my primary way of destressing, and it has been challenging being unable to paint traditionally. I am aiming to participate in the art scene a lot more once I graduate, moving into next year. I still have timetabled in time to work on YCH's and commissions, they will be progressing at their normal rate. I wish to thank everyone for their continual support, being following, commenting, favouriting, participating in YCH auctions or commissioning me! It has really helped with budgeting time and money this year, and I look forward to creating even more through the year of the the dragon.

University finished, more YCHs to come late November
General | Posted 2 years agoHello everyone!
I have finished all the YCHs that have been won over the past year, thank you everyone for your support and patience! My usual turnaround is a month, but that was extended the second half of this year with external stresses. Now they are resolved I am able to comfortably work on art once more. In addition, my health has returned to normal and is no longer a concern, meaning I have been able to return to hiking and doing events!
I have just recently finished university for the year, I am a 3rd year student and finishing this semester was very difficult, but I am happy with my work. I have several small events next month of which I am now in the process of stock take and preparing for. Once they are complete I have 6 new YCHs that I will be making available late November! Some hints for theming is a pile of plushies, street/urban style and crafting.
Thank you for reading and following my return to FA, this place has been so accommodating and supportive.

Computer fixed
General | Posted 2 years agoHello everyone!
I just wanted to update everyone, my computer has been fixed since the low surge that came through after someone hit a powerline poll a few months ago. Happy to say that I can now resume work on YCH's and more art! Thank you all for your paitence during this time, it is certainly great to be back!

New YCHs coming and successes
General | Posted 2 years agoThank you all for your paitence while I am finalising a psychology report for university this month.
Between final exams and reports being due and recent events there has not been a lot of time to spend elsewhere! My event in April went wonderfully, it was very exciting to be selling art again in person. I had a great time talking about my process, what inspires me and what other artwork I have ongoing. My next event is in mid June and interstate, that should provide ample more oppertunites for inspiration along the road trip! My health has mostly stabalised, I still get small arrythmia attacks once a week or so but they are often small and more uncomfortable that anything serious. I have taken the time to apply alot more relaxing techniques and take time down to ensure my health remains well.
I really long to paint again and have collected a lot of resources for more gouache landscapes and videos to be produced. In addition I have a few ideas for YCH that I am very excited to reveal soon. Some of these involve two characters interacting, is this a topic that any of you would be interested in? Or do solo illustrations peak your interest more? I am inbetween I feel, I really love the focus on a single character interacting with their environment, it feels easier to understand their vibe and present their unique view. On the other hand, two characters interacting allows for greater expressions, connection and interest between character dynamics.
I look forward to unvieling more YCH and paintings once finals finish in a week, and getting back to talking with you all soon,

Recent health scare and updates
General | Posted 2 years agoThank you all for your paitence while I have been low activity.
I have an event in two weeks which will inject some much needed cash into the coffers and hopefully mean my PC gets replaced! I am looking forward to being able to create and film/edit painting videos again. Some of you may have noticed my abscence from the past two weeks, this is because of an arrhythmia I suffered a fortnight ago. It was a very sudden attack and left me with an irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, fainting and orders for decreased activity. I was thankfully able to see my specialist (he had a cancellation, otherwise it would be until June he would be available) and have been given new medication. It will not be long term and it is a relatively safe drug with no sideffects. I am feeling much much better and have confidence that this recent fibromylagia flare up will pass and so will the inflammation on my heart. I have been able to resume normal life and most importantly feel myself again.
With everything returning to normal I am allowed to paint and particpate in life again, the biggest strugggle was not being able to create!
Thank you all for your kind wishes and support over this time, I look forward to chatting with you all more frequently.

PC was taken out in a power outage
General | Posted 2 years agoSo story time! Yesterday a truck hit the power lines near our home, no one was injured. We did however lose power for a short while. My computer was upstairs in the office on sleep mode (I was finishing an assignment for university). Looks like the surge fried my PC. My husband did some testing and it seems like it is either the CPU or motherboard. He is working on a solution to restore my data and we will be looking into replacing the parts soon.
My tablet and everything else is fine so I can still complete commissions using my husbands computer. I backup my paintings thankfully so there was nothing lost, just my university work. I managed to rewrite my assessment overnight and submit it this morning.
We are all safe and fine, just wanted to update everyone and let you know I may be slow to reply to comments and events. Comissions will proceed as normal within the same time frame as I can use my tablet and software with my husbands work setup. I have two baking YCH in the making but it will not be until my PC is fixed that I can upload them or any of the art I have painted in the meantime.
Thank you for your patience during this time!

✦ Thank you for your support✦
General | Posted 3 years agoHello everyone,
I just wanted to thank you all for welcoming my return here and supporting my work with favourites, comments, commissions and by participating in my auctions. Through this support I am happy to say that I am now able to consider creating art my part time work! In particular, there has been great response to my fursona, the angora goat Merv. This fills me with joy as he represents the drive of creativity, through painting and fiber art. Preserving throug artblocks, inspiration fatigue and time restraints rests on a strng creative drive and it is nice to have a phsycial representation of this. In addition your comments and engagements with my gouache postcard series has really encouraged me to keep going and produce more. After finishing 7 more this week I am a few postcards away from the half-way mark. That includes over 50 different slice of life paintings from my personal experiences or places that have inspired me.
Overall, this is helping to support me while I study my final year in university. I have not shared this previously but I have many medical conditions that prevent me from traditional work and comes with a problems with participating in society. I have an assistance dog in training that greatly relieves my disability and chronic pain, your support is helping train him.
I intend to continue to be active here and create new YCHs frequently as well as finishing commissions and winners in a timely manner. I am also planning to do an art raffle once I reach 300 followers! I am always collecting new artists and sources of inspiration. If there are any places you have been or experiences/theming that has inspired you in the past, please share that information below.

✦ Shinies enabled, YCH suggestions✦
General | Posted 3 years agoWant to support my work but don't have the budget for a commission or YCH? I have now enabled shinies/tipping! I am a full time psychology student in my final year of study but with the rising cost of living in Australia I am hoping to make creating art my part time job.
I will still be creating YCHs in the meantime if you are looking for something specific! I enjoy drawing landscapes and tend to stick to nature themed paintings but recently completed a series of urban portraits that took me through a few local cities and I found a lot of inspiration through the project! Neon lighting in arcades, bars , strip malls and street signs have provided me with some great textures to design paintings with. Do you have an idea for a kind of YCH you would like to see? Would you be open to a few urban life styled YCHs, or are you more into landscapes and the natural world.
Please comment below with your thoughts. Thank you for reading,
Eiolf.
