Just want to let everyone know
General | Posted 13 years agoIn an attempt to replace/upgrade my motherboard, I have unfortunately come across the problem that my monitor does not work when plugged into the motherboard, so I must go find myself a video card fitted for my new MB. I think that's the problem.
If it's not that... I think it's the IDE-to-SATA converter I got... Even though it was new and -not- used.

Birthday soon!
General | Posted 14 years agoSix more days (Jan 19) and I turn 23! Yay! I love birthdays, they give me an excuse to bring cake to my friends.
I have no clue what I wanna do, though, as I somehow got the day off. O.o

Short-term Monetary goals
General | Posted 14 years agoI have a few... Let's see if I can actually be smart with my money, shall we?
I need to find some way to get myself to save up nearly $3000 for sake of my computing and art desires. If I do it right, I'll, at the very least, have emergency funds should anything happen. Going for most expensive first so as to give myself more wiggle-room when shit hits fan.
Goal #1: Accumulate funds necessary to purchase myself a Wacom Cintiq 21UX (Roughly $2000! x_x ). A good friend of mine has recently acquired one for his school projects, and she let me try it out. She and I swear by the damn thing now.
Goal #2: Save up anywhere from $500-1000 for an upgrade to my computer, be it a new computer altogether or just to upgrade the different parts I'm working with as it is.
Goal #3: New glasses with resulting left-over. This pair is getting horribly scratched up now, and it's killing my vision.
Goal #4: New bike. Could do with a means of transport other than the bus that would also be a means of more exercise.
Wish me luck!

About the banner....
General | Posted 14 years agoDEAR GOD! Why am I seeing nearly as much bitching and griping about this as with that one Thanksgiving banner a couple years back? Grah!
Okay, got that out of my system. Now onto trying to figure out how to properly draw my farfetch'd gijinka, since the last attempt sucked. :3

My comp has been mortally wounded
General | Posted 14 years agoGot virus's once more, and now, after cleaning it again, something in the registry has been altered so that my comp can't recognize EXE files normally. I've gotten around it for a couple programs, but I fear I actually need to get a new computer now.
Had a strange dream recently
General | Posted 14 years agoStuck with me throughout the following day, enough so that it screwed with my sense of what's really there and what isn't. sometimes I couldn't even feel the item I was holding in my hand even though it was really there...
The dream I had, oddly enough, wasn't entirely surreal. Kinda sci-fi-ish, but it felt entirely plausible. And unlike other dreams where 'Oh, hey, somethings happening, deal with it', it was more like, 'Here, I have a story for you, sit back and listen.'
Been writing it out, trying to hold onto the pieces that are still there from yesterday. Might get a story post from me when it's done.

Bah! (Got Virus'd again, fixed it thought)
General | Posted 14 years agoDamn trojans, stop trying to take away my internets with faulty proxy servers! You're not mongolians and my internets aren't a city wall! >.<
I'm hungry...
General | Posted 15 years agoAnd all the food in my house is in cans, and I have no can openers...
Missed my own B-day!
General | Posted 15 years agoTurned 22 Wednesday, yay cake... Um... that is all.

General | Posted 15 years agoAs it would seem, I'm in another art rut, unable to really draw anything... You know that point at which you start a drawing, get half-way through with the sketch, and regardless of how good it might be looking you get frustrated and crumple the paper thinking it's not as good as your other works? Yeah, I'm at that point in the block...
Just letting you know I'm alive, sorta.

This might seem a touch metaphysical
General | Posted 15 years agoThe energy flow where I am feels amazing right now. Just walked home from work, and there's a steady breeze blowing through. I looked up along, and can see a couple stars above me, but all around them are dark, dark clouds. There's lightning, BRIGHT lightning off in each of the four directions, north, south, east, west, and even though they're strong enough and bright enough that I should be hearing at least a soft rumble of thunder, all I can hear is the rustling of leaves. To top it off, the few breaks in the clouds are looking almost like they're being pulled by a gentle vortex, like the energy of the sky is swirling...
I feel so charged up and wanting to move about with all the lightning around now...

Loss of a loved one
General | Posted 15 years agoAt 6:53 this morning, only a half hour before typing this, my pet cat for sixteen years, Bo, died in her sleep laying next to me. I woke up to her shaking violently and thought she was just shivering from the air conditioner, and after I turned it off, I realized she wasn't moving, wasn't breathing...
I'm really gonna miss her.
I'm really gonna miss her.
Emotional Breakdown, WHOO!
General | Posted 15 years agoSo, um, random update... Two nights ago... well, actually about 24hours before posting this, I kinda sorta had a breakdown right when I was trying to sleep.
Too much stress, too much loneliness, I dunno what. Something caused it, and made it very hard for me to get to sleep. I was also reminded that it physically hurts me to cry. On the plus side, I had possibly my first -relaxing- darkness dream.
Um... Okies, in need of sleep. And soda.

Random Journal: Subject; Pokemon
General | Posted 15 years agoBecause I've found so many people dun seem to realize it, as obvious as it should be...
The Nidoran family are RABBITS! Not lizards. I mean, look at Nidoran(f).

Virus! And the prompt removal thereof!
General | Posted 16 years agoIt would seem that yesterday, my comp fell under the attack of a somewhat well-known malware parading around my computer as "Antivirus Soft". Soon as it popped up, my immediate reaction was unplug from the net, and call my dad for help since he's been working with computers nearly as long as I've been alive.
Anyway, he did a little research for me, told me of Malwarebytes, and helped me figure out how to run safe mode and still access the internet (woot!). Got myself the program, ran it once.... Knocked out five files... Rebooted, but foolishly -not- in safe mode. Virus still there. Went to work, came home, ran the thing three more times in safe mode, making sure each reboot was in safe more, and the last time I ran it, nothing found. Reboot as if normal... And yay, no virus!
And that was my adventure from saturday evening to monday evening. Hope some of you can learn from this, and that most of you haven't learned already, the hard way.

It's mah Birthday!
General | Posted 16 years agoAnd now I'm officially old enough to drink and gamble. However, my main interests are what kind of cake I'm gonna take with me tomorrow to celebrate a day after the fact.
Sudden Realization...
General | Posted 16 years agoThe sound of the Wyvern in Final Fantasy V makes me tear up and feel kinda sad.
I wondered why for a moment, then I remembered, "Oh, wait, played through the game long ago, there's a reason it's so sad."
If you've also played through it yourself, you should understand what I mean.

Gaming: Magi-Nation!
General | Posted 16 years agoAs it turns out, my local gaming store was struck by a major case of nostalgia as we were discussing well-made card games. So they've enlisted me, and a few others who have collections like me, to bring in all the Magi-Nation cards we can... I'm probably one of few who still has enough cards to make a deck for each region, haha.
This is gonna be a fun weekend. ^^

Halloween Costumes!
General | Posted 16 years agoI'm going as a mobster/mafioso this year... Hopefully I can get coat to go with the outfit, still looking for the fedora.
Next year, however, thanks to a toy knife I found at work...
Tonberry!

Drama?
General | Posted 16 years agoOkay, all this Chewfox craziness that kinda blew right past me without my full awareness had me very confused... I seem to miss out on all the good drama just cause I dun watch much TV and dun really check the forums at all...
So, I did a little reading, and found Dragoneer's journal... read that, then read some of the comments...
Dear [insert appropriate deity here], the comments about the drama (and not the source of the drama) have me cracking up, mostly cause of the metaphors and visuals sprouting from the comments. My personal favorite is "It was like a tsunami of shit."
I take no part in drama, but the aftermath always seems to amuse me... I'm surprised the whole cub thing a long while back didn't cause this much flak.
Here's a llama, there's a llama, llama, llama, duck! >.>;;

Chrono Trigger
General | Posted 16 years agoI finally got myself the DS edition of the game. The bonus stuff (so far, only did the Lost Sanctum, as of right now) was not all I hoped it would be... But, I'm having nostalgia left and right playing this game.
Nothing has made me cry so much as the story for this game, other than the loss of a pet that was a year older than I... But anyway, great game, nothing's like playing it on the go.
At some point, I need to draw some fan art for it...

General | Posted 16 years agoI finally went and bought myself Pokemon Platinum. One of the last three at Walmart. And found a DS for only $70.
And got the new Kirby game too. Yay classics with bonuses :D

The big 2-0!
General | Posted 17 years agoThat's right! in a day and 3/4ths less than a month, I turn 20!
My dad already got my the second best present he's ever gotten me, and cheaply, but I'm gonna have to wait another month after my b-day before it'll get to me.
Can't wait to see what he got me for christmas, though, and I hope he enjoys the preset my sis and I bought for him. :D Since he doesn't know about FA, I'll tell you: Fallout 3! What makes this perfect is that his comp can actually run it!
Need to find my mom a good-sized lion/lioness plush... My sis keeps telling me not to buy her anything, and I know why now (her two biggest wants cost a min of $1k ._.)
Been doing a bit of doodling lately, trying to draw a comic to go with the most epic fight scene I witnessed in an RP game (Star Wars setting)...
A very good friend says I need to do some studies... So, I bought myself the Antarctic Press Posefile book, the big one.
All sorts of good stuff :D
