Posted 8 years agoI bought new watercolors. (Winsor & Newton Cotman watercolor 45 half pans)
Let's just say that I thought I had the slightest clue on how watercolors work. I tested them out and oh boy, that's so much pigment! And I realized that I can't continue painting as I did until now because of the amount of color, on the other hand if I dilute it, I don't have the feeling of how much water for that intensity.
Also, I got 40 different colors now, and it's easy to forget what color is which pan.... so yay for learning.
Btw up untill now been using Lefranc & Bourgeois 12 watercolor tablet set, and I thought this was student grade. I've been so wrong....

Well, I've got a table at the art show.... yay/nay~ I'm conflicted.
this means I'll have limited space for showcasing my artwork. Better luck next time? I'm not sure if I'll be able to visit the year after.
Anyway, I've prepared 4 watercolor pieces up until now, and I'm not sure if I should upload them here.
On one hand I'll hopefully get some new watchers (and maybe give more time for potential customers to decide), on the other hand I'll spoil the art show. What do you think?

I've gathered up the courage to go to this year's art show. Last year I couldn't attend the event, so I didn't even sing up...
I'm very nervous about it because I don't think I can measure up to the other participating artist.
I'm planning on doing more traditional art, because I value it more than prints, although I may include some.
I will prepare some wooden canvases, painted with guache, some watercolor works, I will attempt to do one leaf collage, and you can expect from me one mature content piece :) I wll try not to include graphite works, since I think they are not very appreciated.
If you have any suggestion on what you'd like to see form me, please leave a reply :)
Do you prefer feral or anthro characters?
Wolves or dragons?
Abstract or realistic?
Scenery or simple bg?

I'm currently having a sort of art block, where I don't have the will to draw anymore. So I was thinking if you can come up with any ideas for me to draw to send me off my comfort zone. Computer is still dead, I need to purchase a new motherboard, and that will take some time before I can make digital art. Unless I use my crappy laptop to do low res stuff, that's an option too. :)
I'm not looking forward to suggestions as "draw me" or "draw some horses in a forest", more like emotions, poses, concepts as living pictures or harshness of nature. I don't know if I'm explaining myself.

Posted 9 years agoI always tell myself that I will do the inktober challenge next year, but it always has to happen something that I can't draw.
Last year I had to move apartment and was pretty busy all the time, this year my computer decided to not give a fuck, and now I'm diagnosing what's wrong with it, which also takes all of my free time.
I'm probably gonna invent something of this sort for the spring/summer months, since I'm more free around that time.
Btw computer status:
Problem = Won't turn on
- Power source checked and working
- Power cable checked and working, double checked the backup too
- On/off switch had loose cables so I repaired them. Working
Stuff I can't/don't know how to check for errors:
- There might be a problem with the power supply, but sometimes works (I did succesfully turn it on a couple of times, but never with the I/O devices plugged in)
- There might be a problem with the power supply cables, connectors are firmly installed, but you never know about the cables
- There might be a problem with the mother board, since the switch bypass doesn't always work
EDIT:
- Power supply was tested by itself and works.
- When I reconnected the power supply to the motherboard everything worked.
- Everything worked up until I connected the I/O devices to the case.

Since the biggest of our collaboration will be of mature content (for obvious reasons), and since we don't feel like having NSFW artwork inbetween our regular stuff, it's best if we keep it in a separate gallery. Some folks might find this kind of account more appealing while waiting for this content on our regular accounts might be a bit tedious. On the other hand, some might like more our regular stuff, and find the extra content unappealing. I'll be posting duplicates of my work btw. Anyway, this is the gist of our decision.

I mostly charge around 5€/h, which is low, but previously I had my prices set to 1,5€/h which is brutal.
I've updated my "Commission Info" tab, so there you have all the details, if you have any questions or quotes feel free to ask! :)
I'm always happy to give discounts if I like what I'm drawing, so don't be shy.
Also, if you feel like I'm doing a good job, you could always tip ;)

- You can add whatever you want to keep me inspired (mood, preferred pose, theme...)
- I'll choose arbitrially who I draw and when I draw, might be never. Sorry.
- Add "snow leopard" or "dragon" in your post so I see you've read this, otherwise I'll delete it >:3

Anyhow, school is taking every ounce of freetime I have, so don't expect your commission to be done in a month.

As soon as I start doing it, I'll notice you, and then you do the transaction, not before. That0s because it can take long and I want you assured I've started drawing
If I start drawing it will be done shortly. If I promise to do something, it might take a while.

Time has come for me to use the skills I've been polishing for a long time in order to pay myself scholarship.
I think that with commissions I can force myself to learn things I like and broaden my knowledge, earn money to pay my scholarship and make other people happy at the same time!
Before I start with the prices I should explain a bit how I will charge: all prices are determined by how complex the task is, first of all what part of the body should be drawn (head, torso or full body ), then what kind of pose/perspective, then the complexity of the pattern and color variations, then the shading/highlighting, and in the end the background (lazy background, undefined, blurred, undetailed, detailed).
All the prices are in EURO's, the only accepted payment method is: PayPal

Sketches: (can be detailed or rough, you can't know what you'll get)

Now let me explain why some prices are so high
I am not an artist. I did not take any courses or lessons regarding art, ever. I don't have a lot of experience, and I have to learn a friggin’ lot to reach the desired level of skill. I put a high price for some things because I'll definitely spend a lot of time on it just because I'm not familiar with the technique. I might make a total mess of it, and many of you might not like the outcome. But as you spend money, I spend my time and effort. Money can be returned, but time can't. And I think it's unfair to make me work and get nothing in return. That is applicable to all the commissions I'll ever do.
Here are some examples if what's my »expertise« [Link 1 – Pricelist ]
Regarding fetishes and subject species:
-I practice a lot on felines and canines. Dragons are ok too. Every other specie I'm about to draw means for me more research work. If the specie is particularly »difficult« for me, I'll charge you extra 2€
- I don't enjoy drawing mature material. Actually I avoid drawing. If you want to commission me mature stuff, I'll have to charge you extra 4€ for sketches and lineart, 7€ for flatcolors, and 10€ for cel shadings. All else has to be discussed.
- Mature material acts and fetishes I'm NOTdrawing even paid: Scat, gore, sado-maso, extreme bondage... Everything else is discussable.
In future I’ll add a form for the commissions, so there won't be any misunderstandings and sensless noting.

And I think it's unfair to make me work and get nothing in return. That is applicable to all the commissions I'll ever do.

Regarding fetishes and subject species:
-I practice a lot on felines and canines. Dragons are ok too. Every other specie I'm about to draw means for me more research work. If the specie is particularly »difficult« for me, I'll charge you extra 2€
- I don't enjoy drawing mature material. Actually I avoid drawing. If you want to commission me mature stuff, I'll have to charge you extra 4€ for sketches and lineart, 7€ for flatcolors, and 10€ for cel shadings. All else has to be discussed.
- Mature material acts and fetishes I'm NOTdrawing even paid: Scat, gore, sado-maso, extreme bondage... Everything else is discussable.
In future I’ll add a form for the commissions, so there won't be any misunderstandings and sensless noting.

Posted 11 years agoBuh, everybody is looking forward to this vacations because of Christmas or new year and gifts and everything; for me it's just an other period of time for myself. This mean I'm planning to do all the stuff I couldn't because of my busy timetable... Unfortunately I've been loaded with schoolwork and some other stuff, and I won't be able to meet all the dates for requests to be done. (I didn't forget about you :3 ) I will try to do everything, but I don't guarantee it being due on time, sorry :S
I'm writing here that requests are closed because it takes too much time to make everything I've been requested to do (slots are full till February) I don't want to make the waiting line too long. So until I finish everything I won't accept new requests. That doesn't mean you can't ask for one. I'll write your name on a note, and as soon as I'll be free I'll inform you if I'll accept the request or not.
I'll also write an other journal about what to specify in a request, since I'm having some troubles understanding what to do, how, who, etc.
Otherwise, I wish you merry Christmas (for the ones that celebrate it, I don't ), and a happy new year! (ok, this is soo mainstream....but who cares, it's nice to wish :3 )

Snow n' cold
Posted 12 years agoWell, winter was my favorite season for a loong time. I love snow and I love skiing. But I don't know what happened but I can't stand cold anymore. It's annoying. Last year I had to split my winter holiday because I had so much cold while skiing, and had to return to the apartment early. Such a waste of time, I could be skiing longer :C
I'm really afraid the same thing will happen this year... I don't want that to happen. I'm considering of asking for a method to widen the blood vessels, for more blood flow and more heat to hands and feet, but there are many downsides of this thing, could be even fatal. The other option is to increase metabolism, but I have no idea on how to do that. Any suggestions?

So far the requests I'd taken had made my day better, it's nice to know a part of internet likes my drawings :3 Been a honor to do them, and it's very positive for my low self esteem. :3 Wuv ya.

Hello everyone, whoever's reading this.
My name is Lara, I'm also known as Eldnsay or in short Eldy on the internet. I'm 18 and female. Brunette and kinda short (1,62m). I live in Slovenija, a small but beautiful country in middle Europe, since the country is small, I was forced to learn languages. I speak almost fluently Slovenian, Italian and English. I was forced at school to learn German and french too, but I don't speak them. I've also started learning for fun some Japanese, because I'm in love with Japan.
I'm almost all the day in front of the monitor, watching, commenting and interpreting visual art I like and find here on this site an many others. I force myself to do some sports so I stay fit and keep my parents happy, because they think I'm addicted to the pc. I don't have many friends, but the ones I have are the greatest friends I've could ever imagine.
My greatest love is nature, and I want to learn everything about it. Everything about nature intrigues me. I also fantasize about the if's and it's about nature, trough art I want to communicate my fantasies to whoever is interested and to help myself imagine them better. :3
Regarding my submissions, I've always loved to draw, since I was little I was always scribbling something, copying from nature, curious about everything natural, from simple rocks to animals, to space. Whatever skill I have for drawing I've earned them trough practice, and lately some tutorials. I've never been to any art course (except the obligatory subject "art" in elementary school), but I would love to participate in one. I think my skills aren't that great, actually most of the times I'm unhappy with my pieces because I can see I lack knowledge (especially color composition). I don't think I'll go to art school because I'm too scared of what my future as freelance artist or illustrator may hold, also I label myself as incompetent sales(wo)man, and I don't think I'll ever have the backbone to start a company of my own, or advertise myself.
My personal philosophy is that the more you skills know the better life is. I want to learn almost everything there is to learn, form craftsmanship to digital art, from gardening to architecture, from medicine to computer science. You got the point. ;D I won't know any skill for good, but at least I want to be able to survive in case of an apocalypse of whatever kind. <-- yes, that's my reason for the love of learning.
My wish for my future is that one day I will be able to to draw well, well enough that if something happens to me, I'll be able to earn my living with that. But as time passes I see that even less skillful artist than me happily accept commissions, and trough them even improve, and I must say at an remarkable pace. I'm thinking about "forcing" myself into commissions, requests, gifts and trades. Even if my skills aren't good enough for a good deal. Just to improve my skills and knowledge. I also found out that I my family won't be able to pay rent and scholarship by it's own (Or me myself for every little thing that comes by. I think it's better to "work" on something you happily do than work for real and be unsatisfied.)... So I think I'll open commissions pretty soon.
