here i was, all, "i'll upload a bunch of art!" and then.

i took. so much overtime. and i was very tired. (and all my old pokedoodles were on an external hard drive) and now i'm about to be off on holiday with my partner and her partner! oops!

so while i'm hanging out with those two beloved nerds, alas. i vanish once more. BUT if you don't see me uploading a bunch more art next wednesday please shout at me because i really, really want to get back here! :D

Hello, creatures one and all!

So.....I keep disappearing and reappearing. Oops! It's been, uhhhh, a busy year? Life stuff happened a lot? (Ultimately very good, excellent life stuff, but boy howdy it kept the ol' brain bandwidth pretty full for a while.) The ADHD continued ADHDing, as it is prone to. My partner and I moving out has meant a lengthy recalibration of work-life-housetask-art balance. Honestly, most of my art making time has either been upload-unworthy sketch pages or unfinished WiPs, big projects that I can't post anything from before they're done, or commission stuff that I sometimes forget to post (because my uploading routine is so shoddy now).

BUT HELLO AGAIN UHH HI HEY HELLO HI

I intend to return For Realsies, Maybe! With some of the aforementioned projects slowly but surely starting to wrap up, my work-life-housetask-art balance tentatively stabilising, and very pleasant free-time-creating side effects of the aforementioned life stuff.... I'm starting to think I can get back into a rhythm with making (and sharing!) art.

For the time being, I'm keeping it easymode: I've got a backlog of things I never finished posting here, and I intend to get y'all up to date. I've got so many Pokédoodles I'm proud of and want to put out here! :D

(And, maybe, just maybe, I'll start using my side account to post art again, too. Watch that space.)

Hello! I'm back!

Where did I go, you ask? (Maybe you don't, because it's been 5 years. I don't really know who's still here after 5 years. Time flies, it transpires, when you have ADHD.)

So, uh, for the last few years I did a combination of simply forgetting I had a Furaffinity account, getting distracted with my fleshrealm job, and not remembering which email I signed up with. I tried a few times. Somehow I just completely overlooked one of them, because I was "sure I didn't sign up with that one" - or maybe I was sure I'd already tried it and it wasn't that. (Thanks, brain.) In a very typically me move, I did actually sign up with that one. I only thought to try it out now. And it was like, "Yup, here's a reset email!"

There's the update. That's where my dumb ass has been. But now I'm back, and I intend to stay. And boy oh boy have I racked up a backlog while I wasn't here! I'll try not to spam anyone's inboxes, but I'll be gradually uploading stuff from The Missing Years until I hit present-day.

Name: What, the real one? We'll say Drew, I'm becoming increasingly fond of Drew and that's a Real Life Human Name so let's all pretend it's the one people call me in the real world, hmm?
Nickname: Socket, Socks.
Location: England, where the weather be perpetually dreary and the summers are muggy as all hell.
Age: 22.
Height: Basically tiny. Very smol.
Zodiac sign: Saggitarius
Pets: A Western Hognose snake called Pretzel! He has his own blog. (Also two cats - Tilly and Rosie, and a border collie called Buffy.)
Favorite thing about yourself: That's a hard question! I care a lot about people and try to do my best for the people I care about, and I think that's a good thing.
Worst habit: Not communicating myself very well if I don't feel so hot. Working on it, though!
Fun fact: My little fingers are ridiculously short. You can tell if I referenced my own hands in a drawing by the weird proportions of the little fingers. (My little toes are, almost as if to compensate, oddly long. I think something got mixed up when I was created.)

Gender identity: Relatively neutral, it teeters and totters but the natural resting place is neutral. I appreciate neutral pronouns, but either binary pronoun will do, particularly if periodically rotated.
Sexual preference: Anyone who ticks my boxes, but with a heavy lean towards girls.
Romantic preference: Ditto the above!
"Kinsey Scale" score: The Kinsey tests have this tendency to either spit me out with an undecided result or call me super mega gay.

Myers/Briggs type: INFP/INFJ - the test varies every time as to the final letter.

Routine

"Early Bird" or "Night Owl": Naturally a night owl, but early bird by virtue of the girlf's work schedule.
Bath or shower: Baths. Preferably with excessive amounts of bubble.
First thought in the morning: "Nghhhhhhargh."
Last thought before falling asleep at night: I actually have no idea - I'm probably listening to whatever's on TV and that tends to keep my brain occupied and away from the whole thinking business before sleep.

School/Work

Do you work or are you a student: Screw your work/student binary, haha! I guess you could call me an independent student...and a part-time freelancer. So both and neither.
What do you do well: I'm not bad at writing when I can push past my writing inhibitions, I think. Most of my other skills are less work-related.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years: Hopefully moved out, with either a ""real"" job or a stable art income of some variety!


Habits (Do you…?)

Drink: Not particularly. Nothing actively against alcohol, it's just not my thing. Bailey's tastes good though.
Smoke: Nawww.
Do Drugs: Nope.
Exercise: I've only just started an exercise routine! Hopefully I'll stick to it. Before that, nah.
Have a go-to comfort food: Biscuits of all kinds, most sweet baked products count. Also dark chocolate.
Have a nervous habit: Anxious hands - I tend to fumble with my fingers or find something to occupy my hands in some way. (Also since needing glasses I've discovered I tend to fuss with those as well.)

Physical quality (in yourself): My hair! Love my hair, so long as it's kept short.

Well, I went and vanished again for forever. This needs to stop happening!
