Posted 6 months agoWell after a week it looks like we're back. Yay. Muscle memory kept making me go back to the submissions inbox only to realize that "Oh yeah. Nothing's changed because it's still down lol"
Anyway I know it's been a while since anything significant has been posted. So let me say off the bat I'm sorry for that. My muse has been very flighty and unsteady for about a year now. That isn't to say that nothing has been written. I'll have a few things to post up in the coming days. Waiting for one thing to be pre-read atm that will go along with a few others. I will be taking down the Beacon's Light short I posted up before and reposting it. (Because lets face it, no one cared because it didn't have art attached to it so it just flew under the radar.) I'll have another chapter of Aurora to post up as well and that major event I hinted at a couple journals ago? Yeah I think I got that figured out now.
Anyway I hope you all are doing alright in this crazy uncertain time. Take care of yourselves, and have a good day/night.

Posted 9 months agoAlright. I know it's been a while since I last posted anything, but I have not been idling. I'll have a few things to post soon. A couple new characters, and a couple pics and shorts as well. Hope you look forward to it.
Dilemma
Posted 10 months agoI have new characters to introduce to the normal canon world. But there is a specific encounter that's supposed to happen before they're introduced. I have been tempted to just say fuck it and skip the encounter altogether and just say it happened, but it's a major event. What do you think? Would you prefer for the actual event to be skipped, but talked about after the fact, or see said event in "real time"?
Anyway; Random thoughts aside. I'll post the most recent chapter of Aurora soon. That story is about 2/3rd through. My hopes are that I finish that story this year. And I have another short introduction to my newest D&D character to post that I am quite proud of. I used a style/medium I hadn't yet used to try to tell a story. I think it came out well.

Posted a year agoIf I was to pin the overall blame for this on anyone it would be:
1. Obama for orchestrating Biden's defeat of Bernie Sanders in 2020.
2. Mitch McConnell for being the last vote in Trump's second impeachment and voting to let him skate instead of voting to actually remove him. Removing him would have stopped him from being able to run again at all.
3. Harris for taking the tried and failed strategy of "running to the right" on the border and listening to the Biden staffers and stopping hitting Trump/Vance on how authoritarian and "weird" they are. And not listening to the democratic base and distancing herself from Biden on his stance on Israel and what they've been doing in Gaza and Lebanon. She had multiple opportunities to break from Biden on a few topics, and she opted not to each and every time.
4. Biden for being stubborn enough to have to be forced out at the last second. An actual primary might have helped.

That's all I'm going to say. I don't care if you voted for him, keep any hate and gloating off of this journal. Get your kicks somewhere else. There are a LOT of people who are now afraid for their well being. A LOT of those people frequent this site. Keep in mind that it costs nothing to say nothing if you've got nothing nice to say. Outside of that I am open to talk politics, but keep in mind that I am not a Democrat. I am a left leaning independent, and that is the view I will bring to the table.
Buckle up folks. Trump was given his "Get out of Jail free" card, and he will never face any kind of consequences for his crimes. And because of it we're likely in for a rough four years.

Magic and Religion in Wolfwood and the World as a Whole
Posted a year agoAlright. I asked a couple months ago if anyone would be interested in finding out how magic and religion works in my world setting. There was some interest, so I’m going to tackle those subjects here in this journal. Thank you to those who showed interest, and to those reading this now. I’ll try to keep it simple as as I can as getting overly focused on details and how things differ from how they are in the real world is what’s making this hard to write. So bear with me if this is a bit scattershot, but there's a lot to go over. Here we go.

My setting is a modern one, but within it magic is a real thing, and so is religion. And the two are linked in an interesting way. So to explain it let’s start with the basics.
Realms: There are two realms in my setting. The Material (or Mortal) Plane, and the Spirit World.
The Material Plane: Simply the physical world and the universe at large.
The Spirit World: Where all supernatural things originate and where most of them live. It consists of Heaven, Hell, and the space in between them. Beings partial to both sides populate the space between, and the energies of both sides clash, mix, and churn in the middle where they meet.
Heaven: God exists in this world. He created the universe and rules over Heaven, and those who live on the side of the Spirit World where Heaven lies all revere and worship him. In ancient times he was very much Hit or miss. You either were good enough to get into heaven, or you went to hell. Since the birth and sacrifice of his son though things have changed, and a new order has taken prevalence in the Spirit World when it comes to death, but we’ll get to that in a little bit.
The half of the spirit world influenced by heaven’s energy is home to entities who are compelled to help others. Such as Cherubs that go to the mortal realm to try to cheer up down people, and convince those on the path to Hell to change their ways; angels that try to answer prayers and change things in people’s lives for the good, and Angelicutioners who are driven to cleanse corrupted souls with their weapons and energy.
Hell: On the flip side of the coin Lucifer also exists. He is trapped in Hell, but his influence reaches out into the Spirit World and the Material Plane at large. Demons are fallen angels that followed Lucifer, and take up residence on the side of the spirit world that his influence reaches. Under them are devils that are usually in their thrall. These are succubi, imps and other entities that go to the mortal plane at the behest of their demon masters and possess or otherwise mess with mortals to bring their energy, or their souls into the Spirit World. If a person sells their soul to a demon, or is brought to the spirit world, and they are exposed to the corrupting energy of the Hell side of Spirit World for too long; they will become a devil themselves.
Scribes: Why do bad things happen to good people, and vice versa? That would be the doing of the Scribes. Scribes are powerful beings whose purpose it is to write as yet unhappened events in the universe from big events that affect countries and the planet itself to the little twists and turns people's lives take every day. Their changes are far reaching and consequential, but neutral. They do not have any control over who receives what changes they write. Most people take the curveballs that come their way in stride and chalk it up to luck as long as they can weather the change, but some changes are so drastic that those who experience them just want someone to help change things for them. This drives some to religion; whether that be for good, or for bad.
Holy Scribes: Angelic beings once completely neutral, now since the fall of Lucifer have shifted to more write good twists of fortune for mortals to counteract the work of their counterparts.
Infernal Scribes: Fallen Angelic beings who are the yin to the Holy Scribes' yang. They fell with Lucifer, and now work tirelessly with their writing to bring misfortune, and woe to mortals to drive them toward the clutches and embrace of evil.
Death: So let’s talk about what happens after a person dies. Yes if you are a good little bean in life and do good things you will go to Heaven. And if you’re a horrible person the fires of Hell still await you after your demise. But those two aren’t the only outcomes anymore. Jesus lived among mortals, and fostered a love for all, those who know of him and his father, as well as those who didn’t. His sacrifice on the cross created a third option in this setting after death. It created a special zone in the Spirit World known as “Purgatory”.
Purgatory: The place the soul goes if someone dies in the material plane and didn’t know of religion, or wasn’t bad enough to go to Hell. It’s a waiting room of sorts where your previous life is wiped clean, forgotten, and after a time you get reincarnated into the mortal world with a fresh start, and hopefully this time you will find your way to the path to Heaven. Reincarnation is the main way life and death work now. And it is finding your way out of that cycle that will lead you ultimately to Heaven, which is why the religion is called Lumipath. (Or Light Path)
Lumipath Church: Churches function as places of worship as well as rest and respite. Priests and Nuns work together to educate the population and guide others onto the path to heaven and out of the cycle of reincarnation. A heavy emphasis is put on volunteering and being selfless. Doing good deeds for the simple pleasure of having helped someone else out. Churches often function as soup kitchens, and as gathering and rally places during natural disasters. They offer a small number rooms on a temporary basis to weary travelers and the homeless. And of course they have confessionals to anonymously confess your misdoings and be forgiven for them because no one is perfect.
Exorcisms are another important service the church offers. With devils coming to the Material Plane to possess and bring back souls to the Spirit world for their demon masters it is important to be vigilant and fight back. Priests and Nuns have the ability to exorcise devils, but their ability to do so is linked to their faith. It can be a dangerous undertaking to try to exorcise a devil, but it’s a risk they’re willing to do to save the innocent from that fate.
Priests and Nuns live at churches and have their own living quarters. Sex and pleasures of the flesh are a natural part of life, and as such they are not required to be completely chaste. Often they will form bonds with each other to help alleviate those urges and keep them from becoming overwhelming, or too distracting. It’s taught that all things should be done in moderation, and while sex isn’t outlawed, indulging in it too much or even too little can be problematic. The habits that Nuns wear are provocative to showcase that they will not look down on anyone that enters the church for indulging in pleasures of the flesh, but do not think for a moment that their dress means that they will sleep with any and everyone.
Nature and Elementals: The force of nature exists in both realms, but on the fringes of the Spirit World where the natures of Heaven and Hell mix; Light and dark, Order, and Chaos, Creation and Destruction make it a bit more volatile than on the Material Plane. Places of extremely strong weather that attract and even make certain spirit world entities. Souls in the Spirit World who aren’t close enough to be affected by the good or evil energies still are affected by the churn of the mix and turn into elementals, or other entities. Entities warped or born in this way are seen as abominations by Angelicutioners and are hunted in the same way as devils. Which has led to clashes in the Spirit World. Most Elementals just want to be left alone. If an elemental, or devil is destroyed the soul is stripped to its bare essence and goes to purgatory where it rejoins the cycle of reincarnation.
Plants and minerals are also affected by the mix of energies and are highly sought after by witches and wizards for their crafts. Expeditions of the magically aware go into the Spirit World to gather ingredients and sell them to Witches and Wizards on the Material Plane.
Magic: Speaking of witches and wizards; magic is prevalent in the setting. While most cannot perceive it, (and so do not know that it is real) the invisible energy is everywhere and is as harmless as sunlight in its natural state. It is the result of the chaotic energies of Spirit Realm mixing and bleeding through into the Mortal Realm. Those who have an affinity for magic can not only feel it swirling in the air around them, but can learn to harness it to do different things with spells and runes. There are schools around the world that teach witches and wizards to harness their affinity to use the innate magical energy around them safely. On the flip side are those who seek pacts with demons for more power and delve into the more dangerous energies. This is of course banned, and those warlocks are shunned by those who practice magic.
While not directed by runes or a spell, magic is inert; inactive. Like sunlight though even inert magic can be dangerous in large concentrations. These spaces can cause distortions and effects to happen at random to the environment, people or animals in them. Because of this; magic schools usually pop up in places of magical concentration and make use of the abundance of magic energy.
In short Magic is the inert chaotic energy that flows into the Mortal Plane from the Spirit World. It’s neither good nor bad, and is largely harmless until it’s directed by runes or a spell.
Reality Warping: And finally this brings us to Sly's ability specifically. His father is a Holy Scribe, and his mother is a Succubus. His father’s ability is much more powerful than his own of course as he can affect things throughout the universe with his writing, but Sly's part devil, and what are devils and demons known for doing frequently? Messing with and interfering in the lives of mortals. Be it for their own gain, or fun or whathaveyou. This plays into how Sly's ability actually works. It's not as powerful as his fathers, since he can only edit things not create them, but he can take affect in other people's lives and actively target what and who he affects because of his devil heritage's nature. Now he does use his ability for good, but that's due to his upbringing more than his lineages since neither his father or his mother was in his life or raised him. So growing up on earth his experiences and how he was taught and raised influenced him to be good.

Posted a year agoThere have been a few instances in my writing's normal canon that have touched on the topic of The Spirit World, and Magic, and Religion, but I've never posted anything actually explaining it. Characters like Sly, Surge, Mei, Rei, Celesti, Sabrina, and the other witches, and the soon to be posted Nun trio all embody or represent beliefs or parts of the Spirit World.
Would anyone be interested in seeing me post a general info guideline to the spiritual aspects of my world, including where magic comes from and how Sly's ability works?

My dreams of late
Posted a year agoTypically I'm not a big dreamer. I know for a fact that I DO dream, but usually any memory of said dream starts to fade within thirty seconds of waking up, and is fully forgotten after about five minutes.
The dreams I had a couple nights ago, and last night have been...intense. I don't remember everything, but I do remember themes. The from two nights ago I was being pressed to join a cult. Ironically the dreams, layout was that of the church I grew up going to. There was a carnival going on, and I did something to earn the ire of the owners of the carnival. I believe I peed on a bench for some reason. After found myself being pursued by security. It didn't seem to matter where my car was, I couldn't escape them to get to it. Once they'd caught me they didn't arrest me, but gave me something. I don't remember what it was, but I couldn't leave the carnival. Later they tried to give me a tattoo, saying it would be linked to one of a few people on a list that I didn't recognize. When I realized that they all had the same tattoo I knew something was up. The entire dream had a very creepy atmosphere. I woke up not long later.
Last night's dream hit on a bunch of different subjects and was a bit all over the place. From helping the military find a clutch of alien eggs, (not xenomorphs) to somehow being linked to said aliens in a way that if they are destroyed I die too, and being unable to convince the military to not kill them and knowing that I only had a short time left alive to handle any business and talk to anyone I wanted to talk to. Also thrown in there because it dealt with the military was a moment where I noted that the establishment "just wouldn't let us have Bernie" when Biden decided fuck it lets just kill the aliens when the subject of what to do about them came up. The last thing I did in the dream as I waited the last few minutes until I died a second time was walk up to a shop to buy something small to get money back and a youtuber I watch was the cashier. He sold me some christmas themed cookie thing. And I ate it while standing there in the last few seconds waiting for death to hit me a second time and hoping the same thing that happened before happens again,but not really wanting to go through that anxiety again.
So yeah. Those happened.
The dreams I had a couple nights ago, and last night have been...intense. I don't remember everything, but I do remember themes. The from two nights ago I was being pressed to join a cult. Ironically the dreams, layout was that of the church I grew up going to. There was a carnival going on, and I did something to earn the ire of the owners of the carnival. I believe I peed on a bench for some reason. After found myself being pursued by security. It didn't seem to matter where my car was, I couldn't escape them to get to it. Once they'd caught me they didn't arrest me, but gave me something. I don't remember what it was, but I couldn't leave the carnival. Later they tried to give me a tattoo, saying it would be linked to one of a few people on a list that I didn't recognize. When I realized that they all had the same tattoo I knew something was up. The entire dream had a very creepy atmosphere. I woke up not long later.

Posted a year agoWhether you are an anime fan or not, you know of the series Dragonball. Be it the original series, Z, GT, or Super the series created by Akira Toriyama has touched everyone in some way. Some have watched his creations directly, but others have been touched through other media that took cues and ideas from the series. Unfortunately the creator of this great series has passed away. (Yes I am aware that he created more series than Dragonball, but this is the one most well known, and recognizable work) May this legendary writer and artist live on in our memories, and may his spirit rest in peace. Thank you Akira Toriyama for the memories, and the inspiration you blessed us all with with your art, your writing, and your light.

She stowed away aboard the first zeppelin she spotted, and that's how she came to be aboard the Moonchaser. She bartered passage back as close as the Captain could bring her to Bidel by offering to be his slave until they arrive. Six months later and he made good on his end of the deal. Having gotten to know the Captain she hesitated to leave, but she did. Finding her family's lives back in Bidel hadn't changed in her absence, and noting differences between what she experienced on board the Moonchaser, and her prospective life in Bidel, she decided to go back to the Moonchaser willingly and took her place as the first member of the Captain's harem. She is now the head of his harem.

I want to say thank you all for still sticking around and following me. Thank you especially to those of you who read my stories and have been following the adventures of my characters. I like how my current posting style has led to more engagement overall. So I'm going to continue it. "Aurora" is still coming along full steam. Posted 2 years agoThanks to those who wished me a happy birthday yesterday. I had fun. My best friend drove up to hang out with me. We played some games, watched the Netflix Live Action One Piece, and then a couple anime episodes in between me doing a few fares.
The Live Action One Piece was very well executed. It shows that Oda supervised the writing himself to make sure it was good. There are a few tweaks here and there to the story, but overall it was a very well done series. All of the actors took to their roles well too. Luffy took a little getting used to, but I think the actor did fine overall. Looking forward to season 2.
The Live Action One Piece was very well executed. It shows that Oda supervised the writing himself to make sure it was good. There are a few tweaks here and there to the story, but overall it was a very well done series. All of the actors took to their roles well too.
