Dragon Has Left The Nest!
Posted 10 years agoSo, for the first time in my life, I'm finally living on my own. I made the choice to stay with my family until I graduated college, just to make life easier, and now I have done just that! Finished college in December. :D I have a strong career going and am financially stable, and now have my own place in Louisville Kentucky. I do have a roommate, which is my best friend
rctforme, but I still count it as my own place because I'm no longer with family. xD
Anyway! Major change is major! I'm also out of a small town and now in a huge city. Maaaajor change there.

The Value of a Mistake.
Posted 10 years agoLife has been pretty tough and eventful for me this past year, with a lot of good and a lot of bad. One thing this year has taught me, though, is the value of a mistake.
A year ago, I started an apprenticeship as an engineer. I was so afraid of making a mistake and seeming like I didn't know anything about the job, that I tried to tackle things on my own, and ended up making more mistakes than if I had just humbled myself and asked for help. I learned my lesson, but unfortunately a bit too late, as I found out yesterday that I did not make it as an engineer in this company. They did offer me another position, and said I can work my way to being an engineer, but that is not the reason of this topic.
The reason is that I have learned that people should not be so afraid to make mistakes. Mistakes happen, no matter how perfect you think you may be, or strive to be. Thus, it is important to realize the value in them. Mistakes are what mold who we are. How we handle them. Do you learn from them and strive to become better through them? Or do you allow them to overcome you and give up? These choices are what mold who we become.
I know this post may seem out of the blue, but I just wanted to write out this realization that I came to in the hopes that it may help someone else going through a hard time like I have been.
Video from Fur Reality!
Posted 11 years agohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmJkNWQcKW8
Video from a Who's Line skit I was in! (I'm the black dragon fursuiter)
The skit is "Party Quirks". A game where one person (Pandez in this case) has to guess the assigned "quirk" of the other players. The first one's quirk is "running from the police after burning down a building". Mine was "Developing super powers". The next was "Twitch that destroys things", and then, finally, the last was "Two the Ranting Gryphon"
This was so much fun. x3

Why Did Fur Reality Have To End? *sad-dragon-face*
Posted 11 years agoFur Reality 2014 was so amazing. This was my first con ever, and I don't think it could have been any better. I met a lot of new furs, had fun in all kinds of events, and just all around had a great experience. Probably the best weekend of my life!
Some highlights of the con were:
1. Meeting the wonderful furs that I roomed with, and would gladly do so again;
, and Kitta's fiance
As well as all the other awesome furs that I met throughout the con. You are all so great!
2. Attending the Who's Line games (based off of the popular show "Who's Line Is It Anyway?") run by the awesome Alkalie (I think that's how his name is spelled). There were two of these during the con, both of which I attended and participated in. The second I attended in fursuit, which made it far more fun. xD The major highlight of this was during a part of the game known as "New Line". This is a game in which you hold a conversation on a certain topic with each person saying only one sentence. If the host says "New line", the person who just spoke last has to change what they said to a new line, changing one or two things, or even the entire sentence, but staying on the right topic. Mine went as goes:
Other person: "What did you call my mother?"
Me: "Your mother's a furry."
Alkalie: "New line."
Me: "Your mother's Alkalie."
Alkalie: "NEW LINE"
Laughter ensues.
3. Getting free sake, twice, from Uncle Kage (the Chairman of Anthrocon). This was an end result of something which originally quite annoyed me. My fursona, and thus, my fursuit, is a black dragon with a white mane going all the way from the head to the tip of the tail. This ended up looking somewhat like a white stripe... which caused many many people to ask me if I am a skunk-dragon. This included Uncle Kage... who then shortened "skunk-dragon" to "drunk". This became a running joke, and when I walked into an event he was hosting (in fursuit), he actually stopped what he was doing an announced that "The skunk-dragon, or drunk, has arrived!" to which I replied with 'I am not a drunk! ....but I'd like to be!" This, surprisingly, got the reply of "Well if you have a cup and a long straw, I think I can accommodate." Someone in the audience actually found me a cup and large straw, and I was allowed to go up front to Uncle Kage, and he poured me some of his sake. x3 It was awesome.
4. Getting an amazing badge from the awesome
which I could not be happier with. Go check her out!
In the end, even though I am now known as a skunk-dragon to probably the entirety of the local fandom, as well as to Uncle Kage, (I am NOT a skunk...just a fuzzdragon with a white mane!), the con was absolutely amazing. I loved it. As I stated before, it was probably the very best weekend of my life. I can't wait to go again and see all my new fuzzfriends again!

FurReality! (Plus Life Updates)
Posted 11 years agoThis dragon will be attending FurReality from October 11th through the 12th. This will be my first ever con, and I am so excited! If any of you are going to be there, you'll be able to find me wandering around in fursuit during those days. If you see me, feel free to come up and say hello or get a hug! I promise I don't bite, ^.=.^ I'm a friendly dragon.
As for life updates, a lot has happened to me lately, much of which has been terrible. Thankfully, things are finally working out.
The largest event to occur was back on August 19th. I was, unfortunately, in a vehicle accident in which my airbag deployed, giving me 1st degree burns along my left forearm, and broke my right hand. The break was on the neck of the 5th metacarpal, which is the bone directly under the small finger, and the neck of the bone is the portion directly below the knuckle. When it broke, the bone was also forced out of place so that the knuckle was beside the bone it should have been resting on. Due to this, there was a major risk of needing surgery to fix the break... the surgery would have involved realigning the bone and putting pins in place to hold it.
In addition to the risk of surgery, I was knocked out of both work and portions of school while healing. Thankfully my position at work is being held for me, so I will not be losing my job due to my injury. My degree in college is Industrial Maintenance and Electricity, so many of my classes involve hands-on lab projects. Just as with work, I am not being allowed to perform the labs until my injuries heal. Due to both of these things, I did NOT want surgery, as it would make recovery far too long to ever catch up with my schoolwork, and force me to drop out this semester. This would be extra devastating because this is supposed to be my graduating semester.
Thankfully, things have started to work out. My insurance is paying me for the time I am off work, so I am not missing too much of my paychecks. My hand was able to be mended without the need of surgery by the doctor forcing the bone back into place and putting my hand in a cast to hold the bone there. My professors are all working with me to make sure I still pass this semester. My work is holding my job for me while I am in a cast, so I have a job to return to. I was already given a great deal on a new vehicle, which I can afford, and the vehicle is far better than my last one. And, finally, my cast will be coming off October 1st, which is tomorrow!

I've learned a valuable lesson...
Posted 11 years agoWell I've learned my valuable lesson for the day...the dangers of my career.
For those who don't know, I'm an industrial maintenance/electrician major, and work as an engineer in a local factory.
Was doing some metal work, just simple tasks of cutting some metal to size then drilling holes in them with a mill. No big deal. But when I went to grind of some excess metal off a part, the grinder caught the part just right and yanked it from my hand, but the back end of the part briefly clamped my thumb between it and the RUNNING grinder.
Ended up just smashing my thumb (not badly. About the same as closing a door on your finger), but had I not been wearing my tough leather gloves, the grinder would have probably peeled the skin off my thumb to the bone... It's made to sheer metal, after all...
So yeah. I'm going to be a bit more careful from now on...And am very thankful I was smart enough to wear my gloves. They probably saved me from losing a finger.

Update on my last journal....please read.
Posted 11 years agoTo all who read my previous journal about my mother being dead, things are now far worse.
She isn't dead. She faked her own damn death to get back at my family. I now wish she really was, because then she wouldn't be entirely destroyed in my eyes. Things are far worse, because she has proven herself the monster she really is. To put my family through what she did...just out of spite and anger.
I don't know the entire story, as I was mostly on the sidelines for all these events, just hearing bits and pieces... but when she "overdosed," it was the friend she'd asked to pick her up from rehab that reported to my family that she had died.
Well, after getting past all the shock of it all, my family started pushing (rightfully) to see her, to have the body, ect ect. The "friend" made this difficult, coming up with excuse after excuse. Finally, it was found out she wasn't really dead. She was angry with the family for forcing her into rehab, and wanted to get back at us. Saying, "If you want me gone, then we'll see how you feel when it really happens!"
My mother is nothing but a monster... she manipulates everyone to get what she wants. She tells everyone exactly what they want to hear...and when she doesn't get her way, she'll go to no lengths to make sure others suffer...
I lost it today... I entirely lost it. I told her she is a monster, that I don't know who she is anymore, that she is NOT my mother. I slapped her as hard as I could... Even worse? She didn't even respond. Nothing. Not even when I slapped her. There was NO response. NO remorse. NOTHING.
How could I have come from such a monster of a woman....

Posted 11 years agoLong story short...My mother has been in rehab since January...she was begging to leave early, and my family said no. She took drugs and got kicked out, and my family chose to say she had no home to come home to...she overdosed on drugs...she's gone...My mother is gone...-cries-

(KY Furs!) Need spotter for March 15th Furmeet!
Posted 11 years agoThere is a furmeet on the 15th at the Florence Fundome, and suiting is welcome. I plan to go and be fursuiting at this meet, and it will be my very first time fursuiting as well, but I found in the rules that any fursuiter has to have a "spotter" and can't be alone. So....would any of you furs be willing to help out a first-time fursuiter? x3
Finally getting a fursuit! :3
Posted 11 years agoAll is finalized now. =D Finally getting a fursuit from the awesome
takumori! I can't wait to have it finished. It will feature a moving jaw, large wings (going from top of head to bottom of butt area) which can be removed when needed, Blue LEDs in the eyes which are 3D life-like reptilian eyes, a cooling fan inside to keep me nice and comfy when wearing it (hopefully!)... I am so excited I can't stand it. xD

My friend
rctforme has custom-painted these headphones, and may possibly be doing more. They are themed after the Celestials from World of Warcraft. Fairly soon, they could be going on sale, but I can't place a price here for I do not know. I just know he was intending to sell them once they were finished.
So be sure to keep an eye out if you like what you see! I can guarantee they are completely original, one-of-a-kind, and would make any WoW fan proud. You should totally buy them!
