We've all heard them, most of us know all the words, but do they actually impact our buying habits?
For me I'd have to say no; no they do not. I hear them on the radio, I see them on TV, they even stalk me while I surf the net. Do I ever buy their products? Nope; not once.
However...
I have caught myself on several occasions dancing happily to a catchy little tune in my head that I soon after realize to be the AD jingle for some company or another. -_-
If anything, I now want to buy your product even less.

RTotD - Green; What makes "you" so special? >:/

Why is it that so often we see and use the colors red, blue, yellow and GREEN?
Red, blue and yellow are primaries so that makes sense that we see those everywhere in our clothes, toys, and (just everyday stuff)...
But why is green just as common as our primaries? Green is a secondary color; just like purple or orange yet wildly more used. I understand that we are now accustomed to this trend, and it just seems normal or "right" to use this color in combination with our primaries... but who, and why was it deemed that green be a "secondary primary" in the first place... why not orange or purple? Maybe it was because of our grass/ leaves... but in the fall even those will have an orangey hue. Sunrise and set also have hues of both purple and orange; and what of all of the purple flowers out there???
All I know is if I was purple or orange right now I'd be pissed and planning the assassination of green. He needs to be put back in his place.
Your assignment:
Go around today and count all of the green, orange, and purple things you see (not in nature). It's rediculous.

Busy busy busy week ahead... >_>
Once I get back home tonight from the hospital I will be running to do my last bit of grocery shopping for the party... I need to pick up all of the expire-ables that I couldn't get before now.
Tuesday is clean, clean, clean...
Wednesday-Thursday I will be starting/ finishing my decorating of the apartment. I can't wait to see it all done up! I already have my window clings up! :3
Friday I will be busy, busy making up all sorts of desserts from worm/mud pies, wormy slime drinks, caramel apple slices and of course an array of Jell-O shots.
Saturday is the day of the party so I will busy finishing everything up before 5:00... Hiding the clues for the hunt, blowing up balloons, making punch, etc, etc, etc... Also, Corvale will be making boo burgers. :P'''

Posted 15 years agoAs does my "Haunted Forest" themed costume party!!! I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself! X3
It's gonna be so awesome... the first thing we're going to do is I'm going to take my guests down to my mothers woods/ pastures via hayride, split them up into 2 groups and set them loose... There they will find that a small village has been under attack by a so called "wolfman" and it is up to them to find the clues to solve the mystery before he strikes again! It will be getting dark when they arrive so they will need to use flashlights for a good portion of this. :D (The losing team will be punished with shots)
Next, we will take them back to my apartment. Where the only lighting will be from candles and black light, and we have plenty of decorations. There will be themed food, drink (non-alcholic included) and candy. I also have several neat games lined up for the night. Including this one where there are dare type cards in ballons and you have to pop them and do what the card says before the other team does. (and yes of course there will be "Seven Deadly Sins) Oh, how I love that game... :P
Sadly, a good number of my friends have other plans for that Saturday night... but I've had enough confirm that they're coming that it should still be awesome good time fun! Too bad I don't live any kind of close to any of you people out there... ~glares through moniter~

My Tuesdays are now full of Rawk and Awesome! :D
Posted 15 years agoA while back an old friend of mine came over just to hang out and watch some movies... Well that soon turned into movie drinking games and needless to say she stayed the night instead. :P
During our drunken ramblings we decided that it would be a good idea to pick a day of the week to go to the gym and work out a bit to lose some weight. This was pretty much forgotten/ not really thought about in the next few weeks that followed...
Last weekend we went to the fair and once again it popped up in conversation, this time sober, and we decided that we would go on that upcoming Tuesday for sure! I'll admit that it wasn't exactly something I was looking forward to doing, but something I knew I would benefit from and was just going to be determined and do it. Well, Tuesday came and we went... I HAD A FREAKING BLAST! :D
It had been a long time since I'd worked out in a gym (since college) and I had forgotten how much I missed it or how much fun working out can actually be... Granted we didn't do a whole lot as we were kind of scoping the place out... but we did work out on a few machines, walked some laps, and then swam some laps in the pool. And Hell if I can maybe lose a few pounds to that, get some of my stamina back, and have fun to boot, I’m all for it!!! I can't wait for next Tuesday! I'm hoping we can find a program or two to sign up for! :D

Halloween. (Just me rambling about Halloween... move along)
Posted 15 years agoMy favorite holiday is quickly approaching... Skeletons, ghosts and bubbly caldrons; Black cats, pumpkins, and haunted trees... There is just so many things about this holiday that makes me all giddy inside it's ridiculous.
For most people it's just a fun day where you get to play dress up and have random strangers give you FREE candy for it. For me, however, it is much, much more. It's not just a day, no; it's an entire month dedicated to the creepy, the crawly, the things that lurk in the dark, that go bump in the night, the things that most don't care to even acknowledge exist for the other months of the year. Some of my fondest memories of childhood are of October festivities; from Trick or Treating, to Haunted Houses, to harvest festivals, or even just plain ol' homeroom parties. (This is also the reason I give for me being such an avid horror/ thriller movie fan)
October doesn't even feel like a month in the normal sense to me. It feels as if I've traveled to some magical far off land where everything just "feels right". I mean, even the air breaths differently for me! Of course I could just be some crazy, scary-psychopath Halloween freak... Meh, poe-tay-toe, poe-tah-toe. :P
It saddens me greatly when on Halloween night I see less and less children scurrying about in search of candy and even fewer lighted porches for them to run to. My mother always made sure that I had a costume and was able to participate in the local on goings even when we had no money to do so and would have to come up with a costume out of old clothes and imagination. On one hand I curse the parents for keeping their children from such an experience, on the other I realize all of the danger tied into the season with kidnappings, robbings, moving vehicles/ dark clothes, and even poisoned candy. -_- It always scares me to think of what Halloween might look like once I have kids that are able to participate.
This season, even if you're not going to be home, leave the porch light on and if nothing else leave out a bowl of candy. It will make some kids night. :3
And yes I am fully aware of what Halloween used to be/ started out as; I've done my homework. This is just what Halloween means to me and nothing more.

Mothers, concerts and life; Oh My!
Posted 15 years agoEver heard of Adam Lambert? Are any of you planning on seeing him in concert anytime soon? Well, I will be as my mother is completely INFATUATED with him. No lie. Yes, even though she is quite aware that she has absolutely no chance in Hell with him, even if the only reason might be the fact that she has a vagina, she absolutely freaking loves him.
Well, her birthday is coming up on the 15th... and we live in Texas... so I will be taking her to go see Adam Lambert in Oklahoma on the 10th. I've also got a shit-ton of Adam Lambert merch that I will be giving her ON her birthday minus the wallet that I give to her before the concert. She is going to have a ball. :D She's already told me that she is going to cry throughout the whole damn thing! lol
In other news... been having crazy dreams lately... I mean creepier than normal. The other night I had one where I was pretending to be dead in the middle of this fight that was going on for some reason between all sorts of folks so I wouldn't be killed. Well apparently I wasn't as good of an actor as I thought because this mage/sorcerer/whatever stepped over me and said to his buddy "Well if she's dead than I guess she won't mind being set on fire." He then proceeded to kneel down beside me and rubbing his hands all over me while muttering under his breath. Meanwhile his hands kept getting warmer and warmer... Then I woke up. Only to encounter other dreams of the like and even creepier... No idea where it's coming from...
Also! I'm planning on having a themed Halloween party this year at my house! Any ideas or suggestions you guys wouldn't mind sharing? :3
AAaaand... As I just recently found out... I have lice. >:[ I also have looong, thick, wavy hair. This is going to suck. -_-
We have NO idea where they could've come from... I stay in my office all day at work and Eric doesn't even have a job ATM... I don't go rubbing heads with anyone or anything either! It makes no sense!!! We've already stripped the sheets, sprayed the furniture, and begun treatment but fuck... Shoot me now. ~please~
Sigh... I guess that's it for now.

This weekend me, corvale and astrologer-loopy went to go see the movie Inception. I wasn't really expecting much just something to pass the time and maybe offer a bit of entertainment for an hour or two.
I was greatly surprized... It was one of the best movies I have seen in awhile! Full of mind-fuckery awesomeness yet not all that hard to follow. I highly recommend anyone that's even remotly into dreams, "odd sciences" or different ways of thinking to go see it if you haven't already. I will definatly be buying this movie. :3

Posted 15 years agoI’ve always been a big believer in karma and “what comes around goes around” type philosophies… I’ve also always had a strong love for karma contests… Don’t know what a karma contest is? No worries, I’ll explain. :)

Posted 15 years agoAs some of you may already know PatchTogether held a Fairy Tale Character Contest last month. (Yesterday was the last day to get submissions in.)
Well, I created two different toy designs; one for Puss in Boots, and one for Rumpelstiltskin. Those two were always my favorite fairy tale characters and I just couldn't resist. :)

I haven't been very active lately due to work, (I've even left the forums neglected D8) and I just wanted to let you guys know I'm not dead! :3
As far as my life is concerned, everything is going pretty damn good. I've been spending a lot more time with an old friend of mine from high school (along with her roommate/sister/bf) and we even have a weekly bowling/zombie game night set up with her now. XD Last weekend me and corvale met up with a super cool fur that I had been talking to on here for quite some time and DIDN'T get hacked up into little bits or even asked to yiff!!! 8D
Astrologer-Loopy go forth and give him comments, watches, and lots of monies... his stuff is AWESOME!!!
Corvale is still without a job but hopefully that will start to look up soon. I'm still without a vehicle but considering my luck with cars this is actually a blessing in disguise. Oh, and did I mention that our current apartment manager got fired and has to be out by the 15th??? Life is good. B)
Other than that it's just been filling in the null with WoW and Mario Galaxy 2.

Now I'm not one to get all caught up in what people (especially "internet" people) might say or think of me, or Elessara for that matter. I am who I am and both you and me are just going to have to live with that. Period. (But I just couldn't help myself over this one... X3)
I received a note this morning that was entitled "Not trying to be mean but," curious and not recognizing the name of thetroll person who sent it, I of course opened it. Inside I found that it was short, sweet and to the point.
"I think you should possibly re-consider your "fursona" choice. It seems as if all you did was take an animal from the wild and placed a pair of "optional" wings on it. "Fursonas" should be a personal matter IMO. Wings =/= Original."
Now, this could all be fair and true, and I'm sure that everyone (including me) could see my fursona as just that. However in my opinion, Elessara is the perfect embodiment of me in EVERY way except that she has 4 legs, fur, and wings; but enough about me, let's get back to the root of this...
Curiosity struck me once again and I just HAD to find out who thistroll person was... On his page I see that his fursona is an anthro red fox... Again curiosity struck me and I went to turn my mature filter off so that I might take a "full" gander at his gallery/ favs... surprise, surprise it was littered with gay pr0nz... Not that there is anything wrong with red fox fursonas or gay art/ people, but seriously folks... Posted 15 years agoThe party went so much better then what was originally planned, SO MUCH BETTER!!! 8D!!! We were expecting 2 maybe 3 people to show up, but by 7:00pm we had a full house which was full of awesome and pure epic win!
We started it out with corvale cooking burritos/tacos because it's just not good to drink on an empty stomach and I like to make sure that my guests are taken care of. Once we were all done eating (of course corvale was last... he's a bottomless pit!!! XD) we did the opening of presents as there were two zombie games in there that were intended for the party. He got a lot of really neat stuff too! My favorite had to be the little feather wolf mask (I got a kitty one!!! :3). After that I broke out the "cake" and made everyone sing Happy Birthday because, as I stated at the party, "You're never too old or too drunk for the Happy Birthday song." :3 You can't tell from the pictures too well but the candles that were used actually all had different colored flames according to the color of the candle... it looked really neat!
After that... it was free game... The fridge/freezer, ice, blender, shakers, (any other kitchen utensils) were fair game to who ever wanted to use them for whatever reason to get this party drunk!!! (We had quite a few "interesting" drinks concocted that night) For the remainder, we drank, ate jello, and played zombie themed games until the wee hours of the morning... and wow those two zombie games had a TON of rules, actions and just stuff in general that were really hard to keep up with while having a good buzz going! XD
All in all I think
corvale had a really good 23rd birthday. I know I had a ton of fun... It was undoubtedly the MOST fun that I've had in a really, REALLY long time... :3
Tonight’s agenda??? Double date: The new Freddy Krueger movie.... (I sure hope they don't ruin who Freddy truly was) :(

New to Second Life... Drop me a line?!?

I'm now a few days old and starting to get a handle on things... I have a ton of free stuff that I'm still sorting through and I'm planning on buying an avater real soon. Nothing major, just something to get me started. I'll worry about looking and shopping around for nice one to have recolored later when I'm a bit more "adjusted".
I've found a few places and hangouts that are pretty nice, but I'm still looking for a decent sandbox area... :/ (Any suggestions???)
So, if you're on Second Life (and aren't completly repulsed by me) feel free to drop me a line anytime!

Posted 15 years agoPretty much what the title says. I love creating creatures and I have one that I just can’t decide how to color nor what his markings should be.
Color Me!!!
He is my new “closet monster” character and I am letting you color him as you wish so that I might get some ideas for his permanent design. You can choose any color scheme, any markings, ANY DESIGN! It doesn’t matter. Also, THERE IS NO SKILL LEVEL REQUIRED!!! Seriously. This contest will not be judged on how well you can color, shade or even stay in the lines… It will be judged on pure design and creativity. He is my new “closet monster” character and I am letting you color him as you wish so that I might get some ideas for his permanent design. You can choose any color scheme, any markings, ANY DESIGN! It doesn’t matter. Also, THERE IS NO SKILL LEVEL REQUIRED!!! Seriously. Anyway... this was brought on because I was thinking of starting up a coloring contest for http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3272657/. There would be no skill required, all you would need is some creativity to come up with neat markings and color schemes for my new closet monster. Posted 15 years agoWell, there's no gentle way to put it... my baby squirrel Clover, which most of you have been watching the status of, died earlier this morning...
It makes absolutely no sense! I mean hell, I fed her 6:00am and she was fine... feisty, strong, and all over the dropper! corvale fed her at 9:00am and again, same story... NO PROBLEMS! But yet at about 10:30am corvale went to check on her before he left for work and she was just out of the blue, dead... No warning, no signs of illness or weakness, no "bathroom" complications, no NOTHING! All seemed well and healthy... but then BOOM! dead... :(
I really wish the people who had originally found her gave the mother a chance to come back for her baby... maybe then she would still be alive... ~sigh~
I buried her on my lunch break today. She rests under my favorite tree in a black crush velvet bag lined with some baby clover and two different angel charms ... I will not, however, be taking any photographs of the gravesite like my mother suggested... that's just not how I choose to remember anything; anyone that has died. So don't expect or ask for any more postings of Clover... this is the last you will hear of her from me.
Damn this sucks! I was really looking forward to her release date and watching her climb up her first tree wild and free... :(

She’s not a genius but she is smart, learns fast, and is always on the quest for knowledge.

Sure

Some have called her a Mary sue which I think is BS… I mean hell, it’s not she has a body of titanium with laser beams in her eyes and can freeze you to the spot while setting you on fire… -_-

She’s easily bored, contradicting, stubborn, fickle, and she’s not very strong but she’s intimidating.

Baby squirrels and sleepless nights…
Posted 15 years agoWell, I am now the new mother of a few-day-old baby squirrel... >_>
It was supposedly left motherless after some of my moms neighbors moved some pipe they were going to use. Knowing my mother is such an animal person they offered the small hairless creature to her… Well, mom really didn’t want to be the one to have to take care of it so she brought it to my house so I can be the one responsible… (joy… -_-)
When she finally got to my house, she was strong and very healthy looking, but cold… So I quickly set her up in a nesting house with a rag and a heating pad… I then checked for dehydration (which she had no signs of) and whipped her up some squirrel proportioned puppy formula… After she warmed up a bit, I tried to feed her some formula which she wanted nothing of so I gave her some pedialyte instead which she only took a tiny bit of… ~sigh~ worried, I set her back in her nest to try again in a few hours…
Well, I am pleased to say that we made it through the first night, and her 7:30 pm, 10:00pm, 3:00am and 7:00 am feedings went amazingly well… She’s eating about the right amount that she should be and is even sucking on the dropper (great signs) she’s warm to the touch and is very strong in her movements…
Corvale is in charge of her 9:30 feeding today since I’m at work, but he has to go to work right after so I have to go home at lunch for her noon feeding then find a way to smuggle her into work to my office so that her 2:30 feeding won’t be missed… o_0 geez I don’t know how I’m gonna keep up with this…
Oh well, here’s to hoping that these great signs of a healthy baby are not short lived and that her 12-14 week release date is not un-reachable.
