FUNDED! Genus #96 is GO!
Posted 10 years agoThe Genus #96 Kickstarter reached its funding goal with six hours to spare! (Which means, if you want, there are still some now-risk free original art perks that were unclaimed...!) I am so relieved and grateful that we made out goal! Huge thanks to everyone who shared and retweeted, reblogged and backed the project! Now comes the easy part of getting the book printed for everyone.
We are hoping to have the book in time for Texas Furry Fiesta in Dallas at the end of February (unless something goes hinky with shipping or there's some kind of major printing issue), so if you want to pick up your book there, you will totally be able to do that. We are also going to make the DRM-free PDF version available for everyone who pledged, regardless of which tier they pledged for, just as a thank you.
Whew, what a big pile of stress this removes! Whew! :D

Genus #96 Kickstarter!
Posted 10 years agoLet's get Genus #96 printed! We started our first-ever Radio Comix Kickstarter to raise the money to print Genus #96! The book is already completed and in the printers' hands, they are just waiting on their check to print and release the book! It's a really strong issue, cover and new story by Joe Rosales
, interior art and stories by JK Blacklin, Agouti-Rex
, Shon Howell
, Terrie Smith, DAQ
and our Japanese artists, TRUMP
, Michiyoshi
and Kolshica!
It's a pretty short Kickstarter, but that's because we are on a tight deadline- we want to have the book ready for Texas Furry Fiesta, since almost all of the artists in the book will be attending the convention and it's the perfect time to debut it! Please feel free to share the Kickstarter link anywhere and everywhere!
Not going to lie, the ongoing back taxes we have been dealing with since 2013 have made regular day-to-day comic-making pretty hard the last couple of years. The monthly IRS payments are fairly steep, not to mention our tax lawyer's fees (but boy, is he essential to untangling this ongoing mess). Thankfully, I have my comic store DayJob, or we wouldn't even be able to cover rent, bills or groceries. No one said comics-making was easy!

Hunca Munca, the Return...
Posted 11 years agoAfter a fashion, anyway. Once upon a time when I was younger and had scads more free time than I do now (so, the mid-1990's), I ran an all ages anthro fanzine called Hunca Munca. This was because I was frustrated that no one in the fandom seemed to cover or care about the kind of stuff I liked, like children's books, Sanrio stuff, cute things, anime, video games and comics. Well, now that I am on the Tumblrs like all the young hep people, I restarted Hunca Munca over there as an online zine (so, a blog). Because, yeah, once again, it seems like no one really talks about the stuff I like, and I am all about sharing information when I like stuff. (I ran a wildly successful anime club for over a decade because I wanted to infect other people with my madness, after all...)
There's only been a few posts so far, but I am queuing up more. Mostly comics news so far, because, duh, my DayJob is in a comic store so I am on the frontlines so to speak. Give it a follow if you are on Tumblr!
In other things, life continues, I have no free time, and I work about 14 hours a day. No rest for the wicked.

Further Confusion 2014
2. Staying at:
I think we are at the main hotel? Maybe? We might be at the other one.
3. Arrival and Departure:
This question seems a little stalker-y. I'll be there for dealer setup and leaving when the con is over. Unless you're my ride to and from the airport, I don't think this is necessary info!
4. Mode of transportation:
We are flying because I have a DayJob.
5. Rooming with:
Joe Rosales
joeartguy, my usual convention buddy.
6. Con Plans:
Hopefully selling lots of comic books. Please buy my comic books! Also, hanging out with the Team Shuffle dudes and
baroncoon,
smudge,
agouti-rex and other various Radio Comix artists!
7: How can I find you?
I will be trapped at the Radio Comix/Team Shuffle dealer tables pretty much the entire convention, unless I can escape to use the restroom.
8. Do you do free art?
Trust me, you do not want free art from me. I cannot draw.
9. Do you have prints/Cds?
No, but I have comic books! LOTS OF COMIC BOOKS, OH GOD, PLEASE BUY SOME. (There will be a new issue of Genus Male, new issue of Genus, new Cantrip the Magic Rabbit GN, and a new Furrlough, so there's lots of new comics!)
10. Will you be fursuiting? if so: What suit(s)?
Uhhhhh no.
11. Will you be going to parties?
Not really? I usually eat something and then pass out in my hotel room after working the dealer's tables. I am An Old.
12. Will you be performing?
Technically, since I will be in full Retail Mode. All the world's a stage...
13. Smoke?
No.
14. Drink?
No.
15. Gender:
Female
16. Can I hug you?
Please no. I am of Norwegian and German heritage, and we are not a touchy feely people. The introversion is strong in this one.

18. Will you be at any panels?
Nope, dealer's room, all day, erry day.

21. How old are you?
Extremely.
22. Can I snuggle with you?
Uhhhhh, do I know you?!
23. If you're pissed off, should I approach you?
Um.... best not to? I have made people cry when I am angry., completely by accident.
24. Are you nice?
I try very hard to be nice!
25. Cliquey?
I have been called so, but mostly it is just due to shyness and social anxiety.
26. How tall?
Extremely small.
27. Can I Take pictures of you?
If you let me know ahead of time. Otherwise, you get into weird stalker territory and that's not cool, dude.
28. Will you get anything commissioned?
Likely not, I don't generally commission art.
29. How can I get your attention?
This sounds like a dating site question, seriously. Just say hi like a normal person!

Genus Male #12 Emergency Plea For Stuff!
Posted 12 years agoHeads up Radio Comix artists who like to draw the gay males.... We have exactly 15 days to get Genus Male #12 printed *and* shipped out to Further Confusion (where the book debuts every January). The only problem is, one of the stories scheduled to be in this year's issue is.... missing. As in, didn't even show up, and I am getting no replies from the artist involved. (Alarming, but not unusual with artistic types...) What this means is I have 11 pages to fill, and no time to fill them. (A couple will probably end up being ad pages, since we have the back issue ad and website ads.) Doesn't help that the back up story I had scheduled *also* fell through due to the creative team falling ill.
SO! If you have any gay male illustrations full of scandalous levels of sexiness, get them to us as soon as possible! (Really anything goes!) We've got good stories from Matix-san and Tredain & Zel (
darkzel ) already in hand, and they look really good! (Tentacles! Whee!) Illos should be as high a dpi as you can manage (300 is best for printing, but we can fudge things if need be.) We need this stuff literally as soon as possible- we will be assembling the book over the next two days.
Please send all subs to Will at willworks@gmail.com! And of course, let me know what you're sending (and include your contact information, including pen-name, real name, etc.). ^_^
Oh, and I forgot to add, totally unrelated, but the Ebin & May Vol. 2 graphic novel is for sale on Amazon now! This is a big deal, since it was not available via Diamond Distribution for comic stores. Check it out!

Odds and Ends and Auctions
Posted 13 years agoIt's been nothing but work at both Radio and the DayJob for months now, interspersed with many incidents of illness, usually brought about by conventions. I've been up to my eyeballs in getting a tax mess straightened out for the last few months too and we are definitely going to owe some money. Thus, I've been auctioning off chunks of my comic collection like a madwoman. If you're interested in getting various Radio Comix books, manga and indie comics for cheap, you can check out my auctions here! Every little bit helps! Plus, it helps get more of this stuff out of my incredibly tiny rental house.
Untamed Vol. 2 (adults only) is in production right now, which means it is available for pre-order at the Radio Comix online store! This volume is going to be excellent, since we not only have work from the whole Anubis: Dark Desire team (aka The Art Ladies), we've also got some stellar work from Steve Gallacci, EbonyLeopard and Max Blackrabbit. I'm excited! Furrlough #192 is coming together nicely as well, and that will be up for pre-order very soon too. Direct pre-orders are a great way to guarantee your copy of these books, especially if you don't have a local comic store where you can pre-order independent comics.
Also, still seeking contact info on artists who have worked for us in the past, so if that's you, I need:
--Real Full Name (this helps to send packages!) along with any pen names used.
--a physical mailing address (for the aforementioned packages)
--current email address
--if different than the above email address, a PayPal address (if you have one)
--Current website address (or dA or FA page); as we are building our Links page on the Radio site and want to drive traffic to people!
I don't need phone numbers, since I don't ever get to call people anymore, being stuck at the DayJob during the day most days.
Please send this info to me via note on this site, via editorial[at]radiocomix.com or via the radiocomix[at]gmail.com email address (though, that MAY get buried in the floods of emails we get on that account....).
Oh, and completely randomly, I am now a dog owner. We rescued a stray puppy from the street and originally planned to find her a home, but ended up keeping her after she got her head stuck in our fence. (Puppies are not the brightest bulbs in the box...) We've named her Sansa. Even though it has been a month, the cats still despise her very existence. Ah, animals.

All the cool kids are doing it! I wanna play too!
Where are you staying? With Smudge and her crew, since I am travelling to the con alone, and Darling Husband doesn't like the idea of me staying by myself in another state.
What day are you getting there? Late Wednesday night, but to actual con site Thursday.
Who will you be with? Smudge, Baron Engel, Rindis, Trump-san, Ken Singshow-san, DAQ
Do you do free art? Trust me, you do not want me to draw for you, even for free. I am no artist.
Do you do trades? Not generally, since there's the whole no making art thing
Do you do commissions? Again, no art skills. Alas. I could probably write you a paragraph, though I don't know why you'd want that! Or I could proofread for you, that'd be as exciting as watching paint dry. Editorial skills really don't lend themselves to commissions....
Do you do badges? See above.
What is your gender? I have a woman's hands!
How old are you? About ten years older than I look. Way way older than you think.
Are you taken? See reference to Darling Husband above. Deeply, happily taken.
What suits will you have? As I live in terror of fursuits (childhood trauma), none. Also, my cosplay days are mostly over, limited to occasional breaks in cosplay retirement at anime cons.
Can I touch you? Please very much NO. As a person of small stature, it makes me very uncomfortable to be touched.
Can I talk to you? Most definitely. I can generally talk to anyone. (20+ years of retail skills!)
Can I buy you lots of drinks? I am allergic to alcohol, so no thank you. I generally am not really comfortable receiving food or drinks from people I don't know very well anyway. (I have some food allergies.)
Can I give you lots of money? If you want to buy books or comics, yes, definitely! It's most helpful! Support small press!
Can I hug or snuggle with you? See above in regards to the touching. I am very reserved, Norwegian heritage. We are not a demonstrative people. Sorry. Also, I'm like super monogamous, if that is even a thing. I hug very rarely, and only like hugs if I initiate them.
How tall are you? 5' 2". Extremely small! (Also, what a weird question!)
You look pissed off out of suit can I come up to you? Since I've been told I look pissed off a lot of the time, even when I am not, yes, come up to me. (My "thinking face", "concentrating face" or "working face" all apparently look angry.) Now, if I am swearing at top volume like a sailor and throwing things, then flee! Flee for your life!
Are you nice? I don't know....? I don't think I get to decide if I am nice or not. I always try to be polite and use good manners, at least.
Are you cliquey? Since I am a fairly reserved person, I have been told I am. Mostly at cons, I am working or spending time with people I work with, so I don't often have time for a lot of socializing, unfortunately. That apparently comes across as snobby or cliquey, which is not my intention. Just a side effect of concentrating on business!
Can I stalk you? Please, no. I've actually been stalked before online and in real life, and it's really such a headache to have to file all those police reports.
Do you have an artist table? I will be manning both the Radio Comix table and the Team Shuffle table for Trump-san. Come buy stuff from us!
Do you like parties? I enjoy the dances, but I am always too tired to do much after the dealers' room closes. I am old and covered in cobwebs.
If I see you, how should I get your attention? Be polite and say hello, or introduce yourself. Don't just stand there staring and waiting for me to talk to you, I'm bad at noticing people when I am busy!
Can I hang out with you? If you don't mind hanging around a dealer's table, then yeah. I am trapped there most of the con! (Just don't block the customers, and we're all good!)
How can I find you? Find the Radio Comix/Team Shuffle tables in the dealers' room; look for the shortest person there; profit!

Genus Male #11 Deadline Info!
Posted 14 years agoJust a heads up, it's getting close to Genus Male #11 time! We have a cover being worked on right now (and a story to go with it), but need more stories and art for the book! We're going to debut the comic at Further Confusion as we always do. ^_^
The deadline is December 17th, 2011! Stories can be anywhere from 2-14 pages long! Gay male illustrations full of sexiness are also acceptable, if you have some lying around.
Please send all subs to Will at willworks@gmail.com! And of course, let me know what you're sending. ^_^

ATTENTION: Radio Comix Artists! Contact Info Update Drive!
Posted 14 years agoHave you done work for us in the past? Have you not heard from me in a while?
I'm in desperate need of new contact information for many, many artists. With the DayJob sucking 38+ hours away from me every week (and it was *supposed* to be part time, but in this economy, I am not about to complain), I've been incredibly horrible about keeping up with people. I also lost vast swathes of my contact info/address book/rolodex (yes, I had an actual rolodex still) between the move from the Radio Apartment to the rental house I share with The Husband and then the Horrific Hard Drive Failure of 2009. So I am in need of information, lots of information!
I need:
--Real Full Name (this helps to send packages!) along with any pen names used.
--a physical mailing address (for the aforementioned packages)
--current email address
--if different than the above email address, a PayPal address (if you have one)
--Current website address (or dA or FA page); as we are building our Links page on the Radio site and want to drive traffic to people!
I don't need phone numbers, since I don't ever get to call people anymore, being stuck at the DayJob during the day most days.
Please send this info to me via note on this site, or via the radiocomix[at]gmail.com email address (though, that MAY get buried in the floods of emails we get on that account.... I'm in the process of setting up a new email just for editorial stuff.)
Also, I can always be contacted on my Twitter account or on my Livejournal. There's also the Radio Comix Facebook page and the Radio Comix Twitter account. Please! Get in touch with me! I feel awful when I forget something important for one of our artists, and I am trying to get caught up on many things.
EDIT TO ADD: Even if you think I already have your information, SEND IT AGAIN. I am wanting to make double and triple sure I have current, reliable contact information for everyone. Please take the time and do it, it will be a great help to me!

Who Doesn't Like Anniversary Linkspam?!
Posted 14 years agoI've been so busy, I haven't been able to post here regularly like I've wanted to. Which means there's all kinds of linkspam I've been meaning to post here, but have been behind on.
First up,
Smudge has been doing a bang-up job on our websites, so there are tons of good comics to read! I'm especially excited that Steve Gallacci's Birthright is being archived on the Radio Comix Online site- this was one of my favorite series in the 1980's anthology Critters, and it's all but impossible to find nowadays in dead-tree format. But now, you can read it on the web, for free! Links to all our current comics to follow:
Here's the main comics portal on the Radio Comix site!

We've also gotten the SinFactoryComix site whipped into shape, and recently updated with new stories from Heather Bruton
Hbruton, Diana Harlan-Stein
dhstein and Japanese artist TRUMP
Masakado! It's extremely Not Safe For Work, but here's the link to the main page: Sin Factory Comix
And, in other things, the new Bureau of Mana Investigation Vol. 1 GN and new issue of Genus Male #10 are on the online store, as well as a pre-order page for Genus #93! (They're still in transit from the printers, the boxes are heavy so they go the slowest way possible.) You can check out all the new dead-tree stuff for sale at the Radio Comix Store!
I've finally got Radio up and into the modern age, since we now have a Facebook page, and a Twitter page for the company. I try to update those several times a week, so there's up to the minute news. Well, maybe not to the minute, but to the day, certainly. ^_^
And yes, this is something of an anniversary post- April 2011 marks the 14th anniversary of Radio Comix! Hard to believe it's been 14 years already... but we even got a shout-out over at The Comics Reporter! Nice to be remembered, that's for sure.
Now, off to do MORE WORK!

DEADLINE REPOST: Genus #93 and Genus Male #10! LAST CALL!
Posted 14 years agoIt's officially the last day to get anything in for either Genus #93 or Genus Male #10! If you had stuff you wanted to send to us for either book, THE TIME IS NOW. We're definitely going to have Genus Male #10 at Further Confusion; hoping we'll be able to have Genus #93 there as well (depends on the time it takes at the binders; the stapled comics take less time to produce).
Status so far for both books:
GENUS #93 (48 pages): Cover by DAQ, a great long story by ReDaDillio, a short piece by Dennis Clark, illos by several people so far (still making my final count- I'm in the middle of it). Straight or lesbian anthropomorphic material, adults only rating (so at least, it has to have some nudity in it).
GENUS MALE #10 (32-48 pages, depending): Cover is already scheduled (waiting for it to arrive at the moment); story by Tabitha R. Jones & JK Blacklin, story by Tredain & DarkZel, illos by Michele Light & ReDaDillio, a couple more things I have to look over still. Gay male anthropomorphic material, adults only rating (so again, at least some nudity in it).
Let me know in the comments if you've got anything for this, and get used to seeing these posts weekly until it's time to send the books to press! If you already have something for either book, please email the files to Will at willworks AT gmail DOT com. Please include all important information with submissions, including real name, pen name (if you have one), email address, and a valid postal mailing address. This information is essential! (This is from our standard submission guidelines.)
Pages should be black and white, minimum 300 dpi, TIFF format, 6.875 inches by 10.5 inches.
Naturally, if you do not normally draw adult material, DO NOT force yourself to draw adult material. If you don't like drawing such stuff, it will show in your work and the readers can totally pick up on that. ^_^;
(Now the legal stuff: Submission does not guarantee publication. We reserve the right to refuse publication on the basis of quality, unacceptable material/themes, or space available.)

DEADLINE INFO REPOST: Genus #93 & Genus: Male #10!
Posted 15 years agoReposting this again, because we're getting down to the wire on these books, and it's looking like promised material may be falling through in some cases (life gets in the way, can't be helped, but that doesn't change the fact we need the books printed by Further Confusion in order to make enough to pay off the printing costs!)
The deed is done; these books are scheduled officially! Genus #93 will be in the new format we've been doing, and will carried by Diamond Distribution (plus Haven and the various furry distro houses). Genus Male #10 is the TENTH ANNIVERSARY ISSUE, and will be regular comic format (as it's always been), and carried by Haven Distribution and the various furry distro houses.
Thus it's DEADLINE TIME! Both these books are scheduled for January release, to coincide with Further Confusion. As FC is earlier this year (Jan. 13-17, instead of around the 25th, as it usually is), this means we have to seriously get cracking on these books! They have the same deadline, since they have to be done at the same time. Also, Xmas falls in the middle of the production time, so that always slows up the works.
The ABSOLUTE LATEST you can get things to me for publication is: DECEMBER 15, 2010.
Status so far for both books:
GENUS #93 (48 pages): Cover by DAQ, a great long story by ReDaDillio, a short piece by Dennis Clark; still room inside for stories/illustrations. (Possibly a Karno story as well, have to double check my files.) Straight or lesbian anthropomorphic material, adults only rating (so at least, it has to have some nudity in it).
GENUS MALE #10 (32-48 pages, depending): Cover is already scheduled (waiting for it to arrive at the moment); story by Tabitha R. ALSO: We have SUPER-CHEAP Project Wonderful ad boxes up for grabs on most of our online comic pages! Bids start at $0.01, which can't be beat! You have your choice of advertising on Bureau of Mana Investigation, Coyote, Duncan & Mallory, Ebin & May, Tiger Team Three, Trouble Express or the main Radio Comix Online page! AND! We're having our annual Reader Appreciation Sale on our online store!

Odds and Ends and Comics Bits....
Posted 15 years agoHaven't had time to post much lately, between work at the DayJob and Radio Comix stuff, so here's a bullet point update of Various Things!
--I took a vacation for the first time in two years to go visit my family up north. The trip served multiple purposes: it was my mom's 60th birthday this month, both my sister and my brother had babies in November last year and I wanted to see them, my pop is likely retiring at the end of this year, and my mom made me an appointment to see a dermatologist about a couple of moles on my face. Turned out the face moles are harmless (I have prescription bleaching cream, like Michael Jackson), but there was a mole on my toe that was Suspicious. So, they cut it out of my toe, leaving me with a square divot-like hole. I find out soon if it was malignant or benign.
--The Radio Comix Online site is chugging along, thanks to Smudge's masterful web-fu. We've got a goodly number of delightful comics up now, free to read. They are:
Bureau of Mana Investigation by Smudge
Coyote by Mel. White
Duncan & Mallory by Robert Asprin & Mel. White
Ebin & May by Smudge & Ed Garcia
Tiger Team Three by Mark Moore
Trouble Express by Will Allison
--We're in the middle of scanning and page cleanup for more comics for the online site- Havoc, INC, Pervert Club and Tales of the Fehnnik. They're sadly going slower than we wanted, due to Will having a lot of computer issues the last year. We've just gotten them all fixed (fingers crossed), so the work is going a bit faster now.
--In Not Safe For Work news, the Sin Factory Comix site has had a complete interior overhaul! (The outside public pages are the same as always.) But the interior is totally revamped, with a shiny new interface! It's been getting updated regularly with more goodies from Sutton, Howell and DAQ, and we've been working on getting even more ready for uploading!
--Our next book is in production right now to ship soonish- the Bureau of Mana Investigation Vol. 1 trade paperback! We're just getting the final bits handled. You can still special order it from your local comic store using the Diamond order code SEP101106! It will also be going up for pre-order on the Radio Comix Online Store in the next couple of weeks. (Untamed #1 and Furrlough #190 are up at the moment! Those are the newest books!)
--Speaking of new books, January 2011 will be when the next Radio Comix print books come out- Genus #93 and Genus: Male #10! Just in time for Further Confusion, which we will definitely be attending!
--The Radio Comix Facebook page is up and running, and I'm trying to keep it updated regularly. Check it out if you are a Facebook-using sort of person!
Other than that, I've been out of town, so I have no new auctions up. I will be doing some at the end of this week though, due to a lot of vet bills from September and October that are still hanging over my head. We lost Batty to a combination of diabetes and a brain tumor in October. Still pretty down about that, but trying to keep busy to get my mind off of it.
Now, back to work, before I have to go into the DayJob at the comic store later today!

Confusion...
Posted 15 years agoI find it rather confusing when an artist we've published a total of 20 times later says they were never published by us and they didn't make the cut. That's seriously messing with my head this morning! XD
NEWS: Furrlough #190 and Untamed #1 in Previews!
Posted 15 years agoBig news! Furrlough #190, the first issue of Furrlough in the new, perfect-bound format, and Untamed Vol. 1 (adults only) are listed in the latest issue of the Diamond Previews catalog! That means it's time to politely pester your local comics retailer about pre-ordering copies for you! The Diamond order code for Furrlough #190 is MAY101102, and the Untamed Vol. 1 order code is MAY101103. By using these helpful item codes, your retailer will be able to find and order the books for you with a minimum of fuss! Both books are scheduled to ship in July 2010.
Furrlough #190 will be in the same format as our latest issue of Genus, complete with perfect-bound spine, matte cover stock and high quality white paper inside. Untamed Vol. 1 is our newest series, brought to you by the same team of fabulous creators who brought you Anubis: Dark Desire! Heather Bruton, Diana Harlan-Stein, Dark Natasha, Terrie Smith, and many more, contributing beautiful, romantic stories of forbidden love. The art is absolutely gorgeous!
Pre-ordering is a matter of life and death for small-press comics, as many comic retailers are unwilling to take a chance on special interest comics during these difficult economic times. Letting your retailer know that you really want these books (and using the order codes above) doesn't just help us, it helps support your local comic shop as well! Pre-order your copies today!
For those of you without access to a local comic store at all, we will be putting up pre-order pages for both titles on our online store once the scheduled shipping time gets closer.
Furrlough #190 will be in the same format as our latest issue of Genus, complete with perfect-bound spine, matte cover stock and high quality white paper inside. Yep, we're finally living in the future, or something. ^_~
Other pertinent links for today: lots of new comics updated and free to read at Radio Comix Online! And, the new Genus #92 and Genus Male #9 are available on the Radio Comix Online Store!
We've got super-cheap Project Wonderful ads up on the site and many of the comic sub-sites as well, if you have things you need to advertise. When I say cheap, I mean SERIOUSLY CHEAP.
And hey, I'm still selling a ton of collectibles, toys, manga and comics on eBay for bargain prices. We have waaaaay too much stuff in a 900 sq. foot house, so our purging is your gain!

Auction Spam! (And Random Bits)
Posted 15 years agoFirst off, I have new eBay auctions up today! There are also a bunch ending tomorrow/Weds.-ish, so please go have a look! We're still getting rid of a ton of comics, graphic novels, manga, art books, toys and video games that we either have doubles of or simply do not have the room for. Bonus, every little bit we get goes towards tax time, which is fast approaching! Also, there are still preorders up for our new comics at our online store! New Genus and new Genus: Male, which should be arriving in our hot little hands any day now! (We had them at Further Confusion because we had the printer express-ship a batch to the con- the regular mass of boxes went the slow shipping method!)
I was a bit ill over the weekend, sick enough that I had to stay home from work on Saturday. This is unusual, because I usually try to just power through any illness I get. But, this bug I had made me dizzy every time I tried to stand up on Saturday morning and my fever was fairly high. So I spent most of the day asleep, and slept most of Sunday too. I'm doing better now, just some residual snot and one ear that needs to pop or something.
Paid bills today, which is always my favorite task. Then, worked on auction stuff (obviously) and mail order stuff. Day job wise, we are getting new flooring at the comic shop this weekend. (Desperately needed new flooring, I might add, the carpet in the shop is pretty godawful and well over fifteen years old.) This means my work schedule for the week is all wonky and strange, since us employees are going to be tasked with the moving of all the fixtures/stock to accommodate the guys who will be installing the new (non-carpet) flooring. And then next weekend is Furry Fiesta up in Dallas!
I finally saw the Twilight movie, because Mr. Suarez and I watched the Rifftrax version. Even then, it was painful and terrible, and the film was so stupid, my brain reacted by forcing me to fall asleep multiple times during the movie, I guess in order to save itself. It really is a piece of craptastic Mary-Sue type self-insert fiction. Awful, awful, awful.
It's Valentine's time in the World of Warcraft, so I am excitedly doing the holiday themed quests before bed every night. Those are my favorite quests of all!

Off to Further Confusion!
Posted 15 years agoWellll.... after I work a New Comic Book Day shift at the day job today. I go straight from the store to the airport. A good planner is me! XD
I may not have much time during the convention to check internet stuff, so don't panic if you can't get ahold of me till I get back. I may Tweet, if I remember to do so. (I usually am so busy at cons, I am in a perpetual state of distraction.)
We will have Genus: Male #9 and Genus #92 available for sale at the con, along with all our other older comics and TPBs. I'll also be helping Trump-san and Team Shuffle with their sales like I do every year. The Radio table area will also be home base for Smudge, DAQ and possibly Baron Engel as well, so do stop by and say hello.
Now to run off to the comic shop to work, and to try to not panic about flying (which I hate)! (Also have to try not to think about how much I am going to miss my husband while I am away.) See you peeps at the con!

Auctions and Comics and More, Oh My...
Posted 15 years agoFirst off, new eBay auctions are up! Comics, manga, graphic novels, and some rare toys from Mr. Suarez's vast collection. We're selling off our duplicates of things, so get them while they're hot!
Working on comics every moment I am not at the comic shop. We're turning in Genus #92 and Genus: Male #9 today/tonight/tomorrow in the severely early AM. The hope is they will be printed in time for Further Confusion! Which is a good thing! I'll be putting pre-order information on the online store as soon as I can get the cover images prepped for uploading- those printing bills won't pay themselves!
The rest of this week will be spent getting con stock ready to ship out to Smudge and shipping it out. (In between shifts at the day job, that is.)
And oh yes, we still have lots of lovely free-to-read comics up at the Radio Comix site, and loads of very cheap Project Wonderful ad boxes on said comics. Check them out!

It's The Most Busy Time of the Year...
Posted 15 years agoNot really doing Xmas this year because 1) we're broke (yeah, I said it; the unexpected plumber visit and another unexpected bill tapped me out) and 2) we're ridiculously busy getting ready for January/February conventions. I'm up to my ears in getting Genus #92 and Genus: Male #9 ready for press (and yes, if you have stuff you were planning for Genus: Male, NOW would be the time to get that to us before it's too late!), also up to my ears in getting stock ready for the convention. Yesterday was the first day in a week and a half that I felt normal and not sick, so here's what I got done:
--processed online store orders
--did a bunch of order paperwork
--made some new Project Wonderful ads
--bought new ads on Project Wonderful for our webcomics
--did five loads of laundry
--changed the bed
--did one load of dishes
--packed the week's mail order and auction packages
--printed the postage for said packages
--updated the Radio Comix online store
--posted auctions on both eBay and FurBuy
--dropped off the mail at the post office; had to wait to send two packages the old fashioned way (it was godawful; the place was full of people holding un-packaged objects they wanted to send other people for Xmas. They could have at least put the stuff in a box! Also, only two clerks, to deal with the hordes of people who had never encountered the idea that postage costs money. Good lord!)
--answered some of the probably hundreds and hundreds of emails clogging my inboxes (still massively behind on all that...)
--started compiling the inventory list for Further Confusion, since I have to ship the stuff out in advance
--gave the cats their weekly grooming
Today it's back to the comic shop salt mines; it is Xmas retail there so it's been exhausting.
Obligatory link spam:
New eBay auctions are here! Lots of graphic novels, comics, and other nerdy goodies.
New FurBuy auctions are here! NSFW! Furry comics, adult comics, adult furry comics, the usual.
And hey, we have free comics you can read, too- you can check them out at this link! We still have dirt cheap Project Wonderful ads available on many pages of our site, starting at five cents per bid!
Current media consumed: Manga: Disappearance Diary by Hideo Azuma; Books: How To Eat by Nigella Lawson; Netflix: The IT Crowd Season 1 and 2
