Anyone know an artist who's doing commissions right now?
Posted 11 years agoI wanted to buy a gift for a friend.
It's his birthday soon and his character is a human(oid) well, it's really a tiefling (apparently he plays a lot of D&D and I reckon he'd use this piece as his portrait for his game in Neverwinter Nights) and I wanted to get him art of his character.
Can anyone recommend me someone doing pieces for anywhere between 20-30 USD; flats or fully shaded, fully colored pieces maybe? I know that's a tall order, but I'm currently on a fixed income, but really, any artists who can draw human characters/who are willing to draw human characters/even better, who SPECIALIZE in human characters would be amazing. |3
Thank you very much!

College stuff
Posted 11 years agoI'm finally done.
But with that comes a whole lot of expenses, so I apologize in advance to the artists I asked commissions about (thankfully I've also asked them not to begin yet!) as I'm going through my... financial situation for the moment. 8D
I WILL MAKE SURE THINGS SHALL BE RECTIFIED AS SOON AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE, and i will get back to regularly scheduled commissioning. 83

A friend of mine told me that art is a drug
Posted 11 years agoAnd artists who do commissions are dealers
Now I know it's right, and if I don't pace myself I may end up dead in a ditch with a pile of digital art drawings on me
Oh how I wish I had expendable income 8I

PayPal Woes
Posted 11 years agoHas anyone had the same problem? How did you fix it?
So apparently PayPal said that my card rejected the payment for an artist I commissioned for one reason or another. When I looked at my bank account, there was a charge from my debit card for the exact amount I was aiming to send the artist. So now my bank balance is minus the amount of money that I supposedly sent the artist, except it hasn't been sent anywhere.
My brother told me that the money is now 'floating' and if I ask the bank about it, it would take 30 banking days (6 weeks in total) for the money to be credited back to me, if it would be credited back to me at all.
Has anyone ever had the same problem with PayPal or debit cards? I've had an issue with PayPal before, but it's never been like this where my money magically disappeared through the internet. :/

internet connectivity issues update
Posted 11 years agoNow with some internet through the phone (thank goodness for technology) i found out that this month's internet related issues was due to my insistence on using incredibly unreliable 4g or 3g connections from a really lame ISP. I havent been around much these past few says because of that but I'm finally getting answers, thankfully. Unfortunately itll still be two to three days of waiting for my internet to be fixed. Heres to hoping. :/
Sorry for not updating anyone about things. There are internet cafes here but being a poor student does not a good time make considering the internet cafes are loud, boisterous, and often smell bad because of horrible BO from male students who spend too much time playing LoL and DotA. D:
... i sounded really prissy there but welp

Internet connectivity issues... especially over Skype/IM pro
Posted 11 years agoI'm having horribly wicked internet connectivity issues and it's making using any instant messaging program a wicked issue. Skype is being horrible to me right now, so I'm really sorry about not being able to get messages out in a timely manner. :\

About Elecampane and his species
Posted 11 years agoA few people have wondered why Elecampane isn't like the typical red panda, in that the underside of his body isn't black, but white, turning into a gradient of black the closer it is to his extremities. He looks more like a hybrid of a fox and a red panda, said some! Some others still said that because of this, Elecampane can't really be considered a real red panda!
I don't know why people are still being so critical all this time about something so trivial, but I figured there are other things more worth paying attention to - such as the fact that Elecampane is actually a natural-born cuntboy, and not an FtM transgender like most people are thinking of; or the fact that Elecampane's world has magic and he's a tribal shaman; or the fact that he's eighteen but he looks feminine enough that he seems not to have undergone full puberty (according to some of my friends! XD)
I figure it's just one of the few things that make Elecampane unique. Sure, it gives a giant question mark as to his species, but he's a red panda to me, so that's that!
There was a time when I considered just making him a fox, and a time when I considered just making him a raccoon of some sort. But I figured I liked him as he is. He's not altogether as 'true to life' as some of the other anthropomorphic characters, but he is certainly mine. (:
(Also, longest journal, woo.)

Commissions... and how I lost all my Christmas cash to them!
Posted 11 years agoI can't believe that only two or three months back a friend of mine and I were discussing art and commissions and how I didn't have enough money to get them... and how expensive they were to me. Now, my Christmas cash is blown on art of my character and my friends. Times change fast. XD
It's true, though. If you don't have any extra cash, you shouldn't be buying non-essential things, anyway. So here's to a prosperous 2014 ahead... may I have tons of cash to spend. ;w;
Because there are so many new artists popping up everyday and they're AMAZING ugh.

I'm so excited to do something weird and quirky with this page, or maybe just fill it with different commissions I'll be getting!
... Who knows. I'm bad at keeping journals.
