More Absence + A Raffle (not by me, sorry)
Posted 6 years agoHey guys, sorry for more of the absence. I am back in school as you could probably tell, and that has been taking a lot of my time. I will be posting very soon about some quotes that I have been stitching. I've been able to do quotes because I can do them while listening to almost anything and thus I make more use of my limited time.
In other news MadXStitcher is hosting a raffle for a free cross stitch commission seen here

They are another of us few cross stitchers here on FA, and you guys should totally check them out if you haven't already!

Absence
Posted 7 years agoHey followers!
Thanks so much for following my works and stuffs. I want to apologize for my recent absence. I've been adjusting back to college life, and classes, plus what is basically two jobs, I don't have much time for stitching right now. That's about it right now. I have put the snow leopard on hold as of now, but it will be my next project. I have a couple small things that I want to make for Uncle Kage, and Alkali Bismuth, because they'll both be at FurReality2018 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Those will be quick. I'm imagining I'll have one day a week that I'll be able to stitch, and sometimes that day will be taken up with a catering event with the restaurant I work at. Plenty of the monies, I suppose, so I'm blessed to not have to worry about that.
Thanks you for reading all of this, if you did.
I'll try to post more when I have more time.
Have a great whatever

Some Life Stuffs
Posted 7 years agoI think I will try to keep journals kind of regular, maybe one a month or something.
School is getting tougher. For one, I resent doing most homework assignments. The thing is, in high school, I actually liked doing the math homework assignments. I don't know what changed so much, but I have to keep grades or else I'll have to cover more of the costs for school. So, I won't be stitching as much as I was with the wolf because I need to focus on assignments. For the most part, I would love to get a better-than-minimum-wage job, and drop out, but I don't know how to get the job to start with. There are some internship programs at some places, and I should probably look more into them.
So far, the panther will be a bit slower than other things I have made. Part of it is because it is bigger than anything I have done before, and stitching on linen is a bit slower as well because the holes in the Aida are a lot more obvious. The thing with linen is that there are more holes in the fabric for the needle to pass through. To keep the stitching manageable is you have to go into every other hole. The phrase stitchers use is "over two" because you are moving over two strands of the fabric instead of just one like normal. Anyway, I'll keep working on it.

Fur Reality
Posted 8 years ago I loved attending Fur Reality earlier this month. I believe the number of attendees was around three hundred total, don’t quote me on that. I loved the game they have that goes with their con. The skits were wonderful throughout the convention, and Tak, I’m sorry, but it was funny seeing you freak out over the third option appearing with the guardian. I only wish I had come to previous year’s conventions to experience the full lore.
I really enjoyed the charity poker tournament on Saturday, and I am still surprised that I won. I’ll be sure to come back, and conveniently, because of this year, I get to attend for free.
Everything was very well run, and nothing that was apparent to me, went wrong. Other than the ceiling tile falling because of a leak, everything seemed perfect. And even with the tile falling, it fell during the closing ceremonies skit, and it was improvised very well.
I’ll be planning to come back as many times as I can, and I hope Fur Reality occurs on my college’s fall break again, next year.

Commission and Updates
Posted 8 years agoI haven't posted an update in a while because the light pink section had a mistake that affected a lot of it, so I ripped out all of the pink and am now stitching it back in.
Other than that, classes are going alright, and a close friend's significant other commissioned a simple cow piece that I forgot to get a picture of. To date, I have made 6 commissions now. Who will be lucky number 7? Idk, maybe you reading this? lol have a good whatever you're having

Future Commissions
Posted 8 years agoI'll try to make some smaller pieces in the near future like the "I'm Not Zelda" piece. That way, my portfolio of "completed works" can get bigger faster. I'm thinking of making some badges (or something similar) of well known popufurs and gifting them only asking for a shout out. I'm thinking of using well known Youtube Furs for this at least. That way my name can get out there faster than people just stumbling upon my page/posts.
If anyone has any thoughts, I'd love to hear them. I'll be using pretty much all of what I earn through here to go to conventions if that means anything.

Some Really Great Patterns

All of these websites have a ton of cross-stitch patterns, I would be willing to do just about any of them for commission. But, if there are any other stitchers out there, here are some good websites. The second link is all wolves, and the same thing with the third link... I like wolf cross stitch pieces, and there are not many fox ones that I have found

Framing Is Expensive
Posted 8 years agoI just checked in at Michael's to get an estimate on how much framing the clipper would be and it was over a hundred dollars with a 75% discount!! Why is it so much? My goodness, does anyone know of any relatively cheap framing alternatives that Michael's? It would be helpful, or I could just let my friend frame it himself...
Terms Of Service
Posted 9 years agoThis will be a little thing resembling terms of service because I figure I may need them if anything arises.
1. How to commission me.
Ask. That's about it. I'm just starting out, but if I get to a point where I have multiple commissions at once then I'll make a list and a priority list. If such a list is being used, priority is assigned by who asked for a commission first. Again, if a list is in use, you can move yourself to the top of the list for a day for $1. I will only work on your piece for that day. Otherwise it will work on a rotating schedule or whichever I feel like doing more.
2. Patterns
I post a lot of patterns in my "Possible Commissions" folder of my gallery. If there is something you want from there, then you need only mention it (and for some patterns, colors are optional. if the pattern is in one color for instance, this means that the color can be your choice).
If you know what you want/have a pattern, then I'll ask for you to send it to me at
ellyxthefolf[at]gmail.com
I can find a lot of patterns on Pinterest if you only have an idea and none of my possible commissions appeal to you.
If you want a picture you took to be made into a cross stitch piece, then send me the picture and I'll see about finding a good software to format it into a design.
Note: If a pattern you want done has a price on it/ it's from etsy, I will not steal the pattern and I will ask you to pay for it.
I'll stitch anything.
3. Process.
Unless you request otherwise, I will be posting day by day WIP posts on my progress for your piece. Cross Stitching is a time consuming hobby, but I love it and I love making things for other people.
4. Prices.
In general, I will be charging $10 per 1,000 stitches in the work. I will count this by taking how many stitches wide and tall the work is. Works over 20,000 stitches are up to my discretion for pricing. I will subtract and stitching space that is blank. The bigger something is the more it will be. If you know what you want and want a quote just send a picture of the pattern, and I'll tell you.
Shipping in the U.S. will be $7. If the piece you commissioned is larger than 9.5"x15", then it may have to be folded. Size can be altered before I begin by getting a different sized Aida cloth to make it on. The size of the Aida means how many stitches can be done per inch. I do not know how much international shipping compares, so I'll get to that when someone wants something from me overseas. I don't charge for supplies because supplies are relatively cheap. Works that go over $100 don’t have to worry about shipping.
5. Payment. I use paypal for payments at
ellyxthefolf[at]gmail.com
Half of payment will be asked for up front, and the rest will be asked when I complete the work.
6. Contact.
I check FA pretty much everyday, so just send a note and I'll answer it as soon as I can. Other than that, you can email me at the email listed above for anything else.
7. Lack of contact..
If I don't hear from you for two weeks, I'll assume you no longer want the piece you commissioned and I'll put it up for sale.

Cross Stitch Patterns
Posted 9 years agoWow, I should probably stop looking around so much for patterns because now I have more than I'll be able to do in probably a few years. I've almost finished my first FA commission (forever wild), so I'm really looking forward to doing more commissions through FA. I'm also still really excited for Anthrocon, and almost everything that I have to for that is done. Have a great day!
Commissions
Posted 9 years ago Alrighty, commissions are going well so far. I'm still working on the first one I've received through FA, and I've sold one that I had already made. I have a lot more available though. I have a couple patterns for words written in kanji, and they look cool on paper. (One of them is the word fox :).) I just have to get some more white Aida cloth in order to make them. Right now the only fabric I have is the fabric that comes with the kits. Thank you for all the new favorites!
Thanks everyone.
Thanks everyone.
ANTHROCON and some other stuff
Posted 9 years agoI am officially preregistered to attend Anthrocon 2017! I'm really excited, and on top of that, I'm in the process of selling my first cross stitch piece :D In other news, I'll have a face to my name eventually because I'm on a waiting list to commission a ref sheet for myself, Ellyx. This is all really exciting.
Anthrocon! and stuff
Posted 9 years ago Hello again. Like the title says, I'll be going to AC 2017. I'm really excited because this will be my first convention. I already have room arrangements figured out so that's one load off my back to worry about. Plus, I'm going to be donating plasma in order to have plenty of money to spend on art, music, or books. I donated yesterday and they gave me fifty dollars for the first donation, so I'll have plenty when the summer comes around. Plus, I have a job, so I'll be fine either way.
I finally actually took some pictures of cross stitch works I've finished, so I'll post those today.

Joining FA
Posted 9 years ago Yay, I have an FA account finally. If there are any veterans on ow to edit things out there, I would love to here your advice. I am getting ready for my first finals week at college right now, so I'll be looking into these things after that so that I don't have to worry about multiple things at once because anxiety. I'd like to have some advice on how to edit commission info and such, like how to give it a picture. Thanks. :3
