Yesterday I saw Paranormal Activity - the movie that terrorized America. You won't be able to sleep anymore.

We never laughed so hard.
The plot is senseless, the characters are empty.
The woman had been taunted by this creature since she was 8. And she's 23 now. How come she had never done anything to try and get rid of it?
The guy instead thinks he can just fix everything with a camera and by teasing the daemon, teling him he's no good at anything. Quite predictably the daemon gets angry...

Now seriously, everyone laughed when at the third night the daemon cried. There were only 2 scary moments in the movie, And other two that were interesting. Otherwise, just boring.

After I've been told I passed the First Certificate in ENglish exam I thought I could get a job as an Activity Leader in a summer school in the UK. Would have been an awesome way to pass 5 weeks in the UK, speak English and get paid 250£ a week.

Today I checked the site... and THIS YEAR they decided to rise the required English certification from B2 (the one I acquired 4 days ago) to C1. Ffffffffffff!

So I decided I'll study hard all summer and on the 5th of December I'm gicing the C2 level, which will officially put me at the same level of a native English speaker. And f**k you all

Well the results of that test arrived today, and I passed it!
I still don't know if I've passed it with MERIT (as I did in the two previous tests, KET and PET) but this is still a huge WIN, considering that many people stop at the previous level, and that with this qualification I can get a job in the UK/Ireland/whatever.

Of course I would have never achieved this if I hadn't met and talked with all of you. Thank you furries!

It's been a month now. A whole month.

Just a 9 ft tall anthro articuno. Which by my past standards I'd have defined "midget". Now it's the tallest thing I can think of.

Hello everyone, just a quick note before I leave.

I received the news that the tallest skyscraper in the world has opened, and that it is 828 meters tall.
WTF? Don't they remember what happened with the Tower of Babel? God got angry and tore it down.

Well, IMHO that tower is 250 meters too tall.
How dare they build something taller than me?

I'll be back soon, just the time to go there and give it a little trim. I was planning about cutting it at roughly my neck height. Maybe I'll just "push" it down. We'll see.

A few minutes ago we've reached the coldest temperature I've ever seen in my town: minus 8 degrees celsius. Considering that I live in the center of the town, out in the country there should be at least minus 11 or 12.

Previous record of minus 7 was reached 6 years ago.

And just for information, the hottest temperature was 38, reached last year

After 12 hours and 200 km I am finally back home from the University of Cambridge First Certificate in English. (I did the test here in Italy, not in Cambridge!)

I hope it went well. I dind't find it too difficult, but I could be wrong.
I will know the result in 40 days, when a computer in Cambridge will have scanned and corrected my answer sheet.

The test is divided in 5 parts.

Reading: 1 hour.
Read some texts and answer the questions
Insert the sentences given in the text.

Writing: 1 hour 20 minutes.
Write two 180-word long (circa) letters to friends

Use of English: 45 minutes
Now this is the difficult one. You have to:
1) Fill in the gaps in a text choosing one word from the 4 you are given
2) Fill in the gaps in a text using prepositions
3) Fill in the gaps in a text transforming nouns/verbs/adjectives.
Example: "Fire was an impressive [achieve] for man, which provided [hot] and scared away [danger] animals" Answers: Achievement, heat and dangerous
4) Rewrite a given sentence , filling the gap with two to five words, using the given word which must not be changed.
Example:
"People always want to attend Professor Sharp's lectures."
Given word: SOMEONE
Sentence to fill in "Professor Sharp .......................... lectures people always want to attend.
Answer: "Is someone whose"


Now after all this, my head was predictably spinning, luckily we have had 1 hour and a half for lunch, but then we had to go back for the...


Listening: 45 minutes
Listen to people talking and answer the questions, either by choosing the correct answer or filling the gaps

And after that we had 9 minutes to run for about a kilometre and catch our train! After an hour of train, another half an hour drive back home.

You think it's over? Of course it's not! On Monday I still have the fifth and last part of the exam...


Speaking: 14 minutes

EDIT: Today I did the speaking part, was easy as pie. I just had to present myself, say where I live, then I was given a few photos and just had to comment them, then they asked me a few questions about them and I was done.

Well, tomorow morning I'lll be doing the Cambridge University First Certificate in English exam which, despite its name, is actually third level out of five.

Many of you will have never heard of it, lucky motherlanguage English speakers!

One part of the test is very difficult, the "Use of English" in which you have to put the right preposition in a sentence which, most of the times, makes sense even without it, and then change some words from adjective to noun and vice versa.

We have done some exercises at school of that, and I resulted to be the best. If this is possible I owe it to the furry fandom which put me in contact with lots of English speaking people, and my English improved dramatically in the last year.
I owe it to the people on Birfurs IRC who I have RPed with, too.
