IM me!
General | Posted 17 years agoSince I mostly use Meebo to be on the message places, I thought that I could probably get myself all the different IM services up. Most people only cling on to the one they got into using first; for most people, that's AIM. I'm adaptable (and a Meebo user) so I get to be everywhere and laugh at your mono-service arrogance. :D
Anyways. It would be sad if I went through all this trouble, just to not have any friends anywhere. Add me in, and I promise [insert random awesome].

General | Posted 17 years agoFurAffinity will be my home forever, but I can nevertheless now be found at deviantART too.
http://emphram.deviantart.com/
Seems that I master the art of selecting a format suitable for VCL out of the Photoshop save dialog.
http://us.vclart.net/vcl/Artists/Emphram/
I'd also be on Furry Art Pile, but good things always tend to die too young.
Tip me off of any other furry art websites, and I'll be there!

FAQ
General | Posted 17 years agoOkay, so maybe I'm not known enough to have very frequently asked questions. However, let's not remember that.
Who/what are you?
I am a digital artist residing in Northern Europe. My habits include donuts, PapiJump on the iPod touch and browsing FurAffinity. Regarding the latter one, I sometimes take sketches I like and outline and color them.
What's your agenda with the coloring thing?
Nothing. I don't want money or merch, I don't do it for anything else but practice and personal enjoyment. Sometimes artists tend to offer a request in return, but while that's always super awesome, I don't do it in hopes of that either.
Can you color my stuff?
Sure. Drop me a line on the private messages thingymajig and I'll take a look. I can't promise anything; I have a day job, a business and I'm studying at the same time. With kids around the house, I also can't do this any time I want. Thus, I'll color stuff when I get the chance.
Why don't you stick to coloring your own artwork?
The one thing that keeps my juices flowing is not having to think "oh, there's an error in anatomy, oh there's an error in proportion...". When coloring sleek artwork by others, I don't have that problem. Or at least it's not my problem. ;)
I don't like surprises and I'm generally a very unappreciative person. Can I prevent you from coloring my artwork?
Yes. I keep a public list of artists who don't want their artwork being randomly colored by others. Why public? So that others like me will know. Where is this list? Nowhere, since nobody has yet reported to hate this.
What do you use to do this?
Photoshop CS3 and my mouse.
What do you listen to while doing this?
Infected Mushroom.
Can you come up with anymore questions?
No.

Shuuya At The Gym
General | Posted 17 years agoI wanted to practice my lineart skills once again. I browsed Fur Affinity and eventually found Dakarai The Cute Meerkat during my browsing journeys. I have always been a fan of cub art and I think that the nickname Dakarai The Cute Meerkat couldn't have been a more accurate one.
I downloaded the sketch of Shuuya At The Gym from FA, merely to just practice (I have tens of colored art from sketches by random artists from websites that don't even exist anymore, on my hard drive) and entertain myself. And eventually, as it grew, and against my best instincts, I chose to color the sketch over some other more important and lucrative and committed projects (I'm very impulsive).
I tried out Dodge & Burn shading with this one, as opposed to flat colors (I nevertheless do have a flat colors version of the same sketch). I think for what really defines a beginner (this is no more or less my very first D&B coloring), I did surprisingly well. I thought it'd turn out horrible, but I think it's quite bareable, actually.
The gym in the background is that of The Medical Student & Alumni Centre in British Columbia. Mainly because that was one of the first fitting decent resolution images that came in Google Images with the keyword "gym". The wood bench was made with the use of a tutorial by the ever so awesome Janee, who has taught me so much about Photoshop.
Two regrets I have for this piece however;
1) The bolt on the dumbbell. It was the last thing that I added, and at that point I was rushing in order to get it done ASAP. So I copied the lineart and colors for the left dumbbell plate and resized it. And it shows, unfortunately.
2) I colored the lineart rather clumsily. Especially notable in Shuuya's elbows and hair, where there's extra yellow pixels between the hairs, and uncolored pixels in the end of the hairs. This is also notable from the edge borders, especially the leg.
Also, later on I learned that Shuuya is not yellowish, but rather follows the color scheme of Kovu. Oh well. How could I have known? :)
However, regardless of it's small errors, I think I did okay for a first dip at this style of coloring. I normally do flat shading and leave the lineart black. If anyone can link me to good tutorials about coloring lineart (I used a separate layer with Screen layer mode, but that works only if you have a white background, as I learned the hard way), I'd really appreciate it.
