Hoo-Boy...! (Escalation rant)
General | Posted 17 years agoSo, Tension between Russia and the U.S. are rising again. Am I the only person who takes the phrase "learn from history" into account? This didn't end well last time, and it won't end well this time either.
But, you know, as much as I want to blame Russia, I, as an American, actually do blame The United States for this one. I know there's at least one US nutter watching me who'll just discount my argument without reading, let alone responding intelligently, but for the rest of you, hear me out.
This whole world discourse began when Osama orchestrated an attack on the US. We responded by attacking Afghanistan where we had intel that he was hiding. Okay, fine. Good even. We don't need genocidal fanatics like that one in the world anyway.
Next we attacked Iraq for ???. Really, does anyone actually know what grounds we attacked them on again? I think it was weapons of mass destruction or spreading democracy or something like that. Either way, it boiled down to oil in the end, which Saddam Hussein Scorched Earth policy'd from us. Good on 'im.
Now let me make something clear. I didn't like Hussein as a person. He was a terrible guy who did terrible things. But, it's becoming increasingly obvious to me that he had to do such terrible thing, oppressing his people like that to keep them under control. I mean, we went over there and they go bonkers under a sudden rule of kindness. And what's more the press tries to pawn this off to us as a good thing because they're exploring their new democracy or some such crap. First of all, press, it's called a republic, not a democracy. Second, we just screwed up the world order over there, now we can't get out. Learn anything from Vietnam, US? No. Apparently not. And I'll assume we won't learn anything from this one either. Provided we get out before the Russians turn us into dust in the wind.
So, now the Russians go into Georgia looking for oil, but apparently it's only okay for the US to screw us the world to satisfy it's own needs, because we jumped on for it in a heartbeat. Now, they're pointing guns at us, we're setting up missile silos in Europe, filled with weapons of mass destruction that was our other reason for attacking Iraq, I believe... It's just a nice big... What's the word...? For lack of a better word, I suppose I'll go with "clusterfuck." Pardon my language.
Now, again, let's face facts. Russia wants oil. If we'd left them alone, they'd leave us alone. As everyone knows, America has sucked so much oil out of it's self, our cities are really just sitting on a hollowed out crust of ground. They'd have no reason to attack us. Knowing President Bush, I'd have to say this whole thing began because he thought they meant the Georgia in the United States and thought we were under attack. Gotta give that guy one thing, at least he's consistent.
And while we're on the subject, ever notice how the US only tries to "spread democracy" to places with oil or cash flow or fanaticism? Here's a thought, why don't we try being the world police force to someone who actually needs/wants us around, huh? Maybe helping Darfur instead? Ending a genocide, huh? Sound good? What's that? Is there anything for us to take from them after? Well... no, but... Wait, no, don't walk away! They actually want our help! Merf...
Anyway, at this rate, it looks like I won't make it back to Australia before getting vaporized. If anyone wonders, I'll be living in Pennsylvania over the uncoming months. If a nuke hits there, then you can be worried for me. ^^;
Also, PLEASE, if anyone knows a good art program for the Mac, I really need it. Otherwise, I won't have much for you guys over the next few months. I ship out for collage this Sunday, so...
Wish me luck and take care everyone.

P.S.: I should probably apologise for anything up in the rant that isn't quite accurate. I've gotten some other info since. If the media could keep their story straight, maybe I wouldn't have convinced myself that I might not be 100% perfect at ranting.
...But I still think America's in the wrong for getting involved, especially to the point to putting missile silos in Poland. Big mistake. Always.

Welcome Back!
General | Posted 17 years agoTo me, to you, to all of FA. Oh, what a shame that I wasn't here to say that the first day that FA came back up, but whatchagonnado, huh?
Anyway, I have many things to say, some very important. I figure it'd be fitting to say thank you and good work to the FA admins. They always put in their hard work and dedication to make sure we've got some place to congregate and post our work. Much respect for them.
So, my sketchbook is pretty much filled up after the cruise. A lot of them won't see the light of day again, but I suppose I'll be bombarding your inboxes with the ones that are good enough to be scraps soon.
On a related note, I'd like people to vote on ones that they would like to see fixed, cleaned up, inked, coloured, ETC. I'll consider your opinions.
This Sunday I go away to collage. Fun! Of course, I do have one little problem that I desperately need everyone's help with.
My computer for collage is a Mac, and, though I love it more than my PC in so many ways, I can't seem to find a good art program for it. :/
If anyone knows of an oC-like program (One that has layers at least) for the Mac, I'd be really, really grateful.
Family's bugging me...
Particularly my sister... <<;
So... The Pyro's Backburner got nerfed on TF2. That's fun. It really needed it.
What's funny is that I refused to use the backburner before because it was so cheap with the extra 50 life, but everyone else used them. Now, everyone else has forsaken the backburner, and I've actually decided that I quite like it. I'm not sure what burns more, the flames or the irony. ^^;
So, sorry to anyone I didn't tell before I left, but I've been on a cruise for the past few days. That's why I haven't been online. Lots of sketches made, though.
I suppose that's all for now. Please stand by for scrap spam.

A Reasoning.
General | Posted 17 years agoOkay, everyone. I know I haven't be on much lately... Where much equals almost not at all. For that I really, really apologize. See, I've had a few reasons that I haven't been able to get online lately, which I will now disclose:
1. School - My parents have decided that despite my last school year ending, my grades are not high enough. So They've been making me triple check every final project and paper that I turn in. Huge amount of time wasted for minimal points.
2. Collage - All sorts of various preparations for collage next year. Anyone who's been through it before knows what I'm talking about.
3. Work - My parents have decided that "I'm not going to be just sitting around playing video games all summer". You know. All one month or so if that I'll be around. So they forced me to find a job. One that likes to randomly call my out on my pawful of off days, so that's been "fun". But, hey, at least the money's good.
4. Kaizo - The little shreds of free time that I have had haven't been really free either. My friends requests that I record myself trying to play through Kaizo Mario... Which, for anyone who doesn't know, is a terrifyingly evil Super Mario World hack. The videos can be found on my YouTube account:
http://www.youtube.com/user/ReedWulf
I apologize in advance for the quality of any videos anyone my watch while on my site. YouTube itself is picking on for some reason; All my Kaizo videos need to be viewed in high quality mode or they suffer from explosive decompression...er ... I mean video-audio desynchronization. Dunno why and I can't fix it. The Unfair Platformer videos just suffer from awful,awful video quality for some reason.
...Just as a sidenote, I'm taking requests for the time being if anyone has a ROM hack or something that they want me to review/playthrough.
I'm hoping to have more time soon since school is just about over.
Sorry again for my little vanishing act. It was entirely unintentional.

Guys...
General | Posted 17 years agoI have something to tell you all...
...Wiiware is amazing. o..o
*is tempted to just leave this really short journal and go back downstairs to play more Lostwinds or Pop, but that's just not like him*
So, some of you may know I have a couple of series in the making. Well, I'm working on it. That's all I have to say about that.
Honestly, I've been feeling a little depressed lately. Maybe it's just the Spring-time Blues. Or maybe it's the fact that I have no girlfriend, but instead about six stalkers, all of whom I kind of hate. Or maybe it's the fact that one of my buddies from my old workplace died just the other day. Or the fact that I'm just getting over yet another really bad cold. Or all four. Who knows.
...Either way, as unusual as it is for me to feel this way...
*sigh* I think I need a hug... :<
Really, I haven't felt this miserable since I was a just little kid. I don't care about the feeling itself, I just really wish I knew why I feel so badly. It's simply frustrating to feel like some miserable waste of life and have no idea why.
Game review/rant - Worms: a Space Oddity (Wii)
Now, I know I've heard all the sniping at the Wii. "It's just using old technology revisited" or "What's so great about a 3-D lightgun machine?" Regardless of what they're saying, I've still generally heard the machine regarded as a "Next-Gen console". So why, I must ask, is the Worms series making a sudden U-turn?
And, just to clarify, I'm not talking about returning to 2-D style after having made Worms 3-D. To be honest, going back to 2-D is the one thing I feel I can say to this game's credit. The 2-D style was really what made Worms, Worms. Though, I must admit, I did enjoy Worms 3-D for the most part, I was still thrilled to see that they were going back to basics in terms of making a 2-D game.
Unfortunately, they completely overshot the mark of just reverting back to 2-D and went back to a few generations ago. Honestly, the great thing about the Worms games was that they were fun, competitive, provided high levels of customization, had a huge (and silly) weapon selection for whatever the situation, balanced (so it wasn't just shoot, kill, switch, repeat), ETC. You know, something that I would gladly pay fifty dollars to get my paws on.
This new one, I'd hesitate to pay ten dollars for, if I had known it was like this. It's unbalanced, so that you're usually just firing to kill with every shot. The customization is pretty lacking and highly limited (to a sci-fi theme). It feels really lax and boring, rather than having the tense but fun feeling the other games had when gunning for your friends. The weapon selection has suffered tragically in the face of this redux. And, oh yeah, pretty much everything has to be unlocked.
To its credit, they did try to make it innovative and make one feel as though one is actually throwing the grenade or punching the enemy through the use of Wiimote gestures being the only way to attack. Unfortunately, it didn't come across as "fun" or "immersive", but instead as things like "annoying" or "gimmicky"... Which is still tolerable until you throw in the fact that they programmed it so that the Wiimote sometimes doesn't pick up on just what gesture you're using (or on any gesture at all), so you often end up using the wrong punch, or throwing a grenade before gaging your strength correctly, or simply not throwing at all.
Did I mention that the power is also gaged by a gesture, making it really hard to choose a proper power? Well they did. They did try to fix it by making a "test shot" that shows exactly where the attack will land before you attack, giving you a chance to recalibrate and try again. BUT (and there seem to be a lot of buts for their efforts to correct their glaring mistakes, aren't there?) But, the test shot is basically a laser sight. On crack. You always know where the shot will go, so you never miss. Sure, there's a time limit, but it counts down so slowly, you'd have to try to wade it out without firing, even after taking a few practice shots to get your attack juuuuust right.
And the single player mode! It's just a bunch of useless little puzzles! Even the battle stages aren't really battles, because the computers still make mistakes while you have the awesome power of the test shot! So, essentially, they're just another puzzle, the puzzle being "How do I get to the special crate that unlocks something without blowing it up in the process?" MAYBE excusable if there were some 150 stages of puzzles. Maybe. But, no! We get thirty measly, little, five-minute-a-piece puzzles. With six mini-games peppered in, mind you. Of course, the mini-games are also crap in my opinion, all proving to be obscenely easy. Though, sadly, they're a welcome break from the monotony of the rest of the single player.
Pathetic, Team 17. Truly pathetic. I hope you go bankrupt -again- for charging me fifty dollars for THIS garbage, and I hope I can get a fraction of that back as store credit by re-selling to EB Games.
If I had to give it a number, I'd give it a 4/10. The four being the relative amount of fun that one can have from playing a Worms game, even one as poorly made as this. Though, really, if you have a choice, try with all your might to find a different Worms game.
That is all.

Welcome me back! XD:
General | Posted 17 years agoYup, I'm home from my little UK tour. And, in accordance with tradition, FA was down for the whole day that I returned from a trip. It always is when I come back from trips. ^^;
(Not to take shots at the admins, mind you. Being an ex-administrator for an old website, I know how difficult it is to keep things up and running as well as they do. They don't deserve all the flak they take, ya know, they're out there working hard to make sure we furries have a place to post our art when the rest of the internet shuns us without a second thought. Be grateful.)
A-anywho, I'm now officially completely convinced that the USA isn't for me. Yeah, I'm a pretty well traveled little bugger, I've been over most of the world. Especially over the other places I'm interested in, now. Australia, the UK, and even Canada all suit me much better than the US ever has. And yes, I know people keep telling me "stay out of the UK, Reed. It's so expensive and there's a lot of political strife right now", but, then again, the US isn't really made of gold like some of those people seem to think... Short version of the rant, the whole world is in political and economic strife right now. Don't see why I shouldn't wade out that strife in a country I like more than this one... <<;
I need to stop talking politics, I swear it's gonna lose me every friend I've got... All three or so of 'em... <<;
Anyway, if you couldn't tell, the trip went well. Bought m'self a few trinkets to remember the good times by (including, following tradition, a dragon statue to add to the collection, and a little dog figurine wearing all old-style pilot garb... Course I had to get that as soon as I saw it. :3 ). I do have some bad news, though. No pictures. Yeah, I didn't have a camera for half of the trip, and I discovered only far too late that the disposable camera that I bought half-way through had a huge gash across the lens. Nothing would come out well at all if I developed it, so I'm not even wasting my cashmoneys. I did try to record little bits of monuments and such in a few second-long clips on my camcorder, but my band buddies messed up every shot. And I do mean -every- shot. ¬..¬;
Who knew five seconds was ample time to give someone to notice you're doing something and mess it up...? <<;
So... yeah.
I may be able to mooch off of some other people's pictures... maybe my sister's? We'll see, I suppose.
Also, the trip reminded me just why every other country hates we Americans. We're annoying, we're inconsiderate, we're pompous, we're dumb... I mean, don't get me wrong, there are always exceptions to the rule, such as myself, so no one take offense to that just yet, I may not be referring to you if you're an exception too. But most of the people in the band with maybe two or three other exceptions fit that description. I'll now go onto a few anecdotes about this re-revelation:
At one point in the trip, we had homestays with English families for a couple of nights, about four band members to a home. So these are people who are kind enough to welcome us into our homes and feed us and give us a place to sleep, right? Well, as it turns out, at least two of the guys in the band saw it fit to... well... fap off in some of our host's beds over night and with roommates sleeping in beds just a few feet away. <<; Yeah... What's worse is that I know it's true because one of 'em was in my homestay group (at least I had my own room, though)... He likes to try to sounds smart too, so after his roommate caught him he tried to defend himself by saying "It's not weird, 90% of people do it."
...Yeah, but not in near stranger's beds you deranged, little moron! I mean... Urg...! I feel like the blanket we got them as a thank you present for their hospitality is more like and apology-slash-replacement for the blanket he ruined, now!
One kid also had to get sent home, because, despite countless warnings from the directors, he bought whiskey... and tried to shoplift. And the director and school admin themselves caught him. So they sent him home early at his parents' expense. And now he's facing expulsion. And his excuse was "I only wanted it for the bottle"...
But he's another utter moron. I mean, a real, grade-A jackass-slash-idiot. So he really deserves what he gets in my opinion. ¬..¬
And finally, I saw another group of Americans while up there pestering one of the British guards that you hear about that aren't supposed to move so you can (in theory) pester them all you want as long as you don't actually touch them. Anyway, no one ever tells you that if they're supposed to patrol a bit, they will do so whether you're in their way or not. It was pretty funny, really. The guy that was bugging him got completely trampled by the guard, then told that he shouldn't have stood in his path when he went to whine to the guard's officer. X3
By the way, the air is so much cleaner in the UK... Well, I can't really describe it, but if you go down there, you'll notice the difference right away.
...Well, it's cleaner than Warwick, NJ's air, anywho... <<;
And the food...! Oh God, I'm drooling just thinking about it again! It's amazing, the food there tastes like... Well... food. Which is really a great change of pace when you finally get tired of this gross, "How big can we make our profit margin?" crap they try to cram down your throat where I live.
Speaking of which, how can someone go to a foreign land and, instead of trying local food or anything like that, head straight for the nearest MacDonald's?! That's just not right! Most of 'em wouldn't even try the haggis. Or a meat pie for that matter. How can one not like a nice chicken pot pie, I ask you? It just doesn't make sense! Heck, it's madness!
(Madness? THIS IS BAND TRIP!)
(... Sorry, couldn't 'elp myself... ^^; )
Anyway, all is well... Except for my journal box. I dumped it, sorry. I am not going through some 107 journals, most of which are out-dated anyway... ^^;;
So... I'll try to get some of my doodles and stuff up soon.
Later. ^^;

A-anywho, I'm now officially completely convinced that the USA isn't for me. Yeah, I'm a pretty well traveled little bugger, I've been over most of the world. Especially over the other places I'm interested in, now. Australia, the UK, and even Canada all suit me much better than the US ever has. And yes, I know people keep telling me "stay out of the UK, Reed. It's so expensive and there's a lot of political strife right now", but, then again, the US isn't really made of gold like some of those people seem to think... Short version of the rant, the whole world is in political and economic strife right now. Don't see why I shouldn't wade out that strife in a country I like more than this one... <<;
I need to stop talking politics, I swear it's gonna lose me every friend I've got... All three or so of 'em... <<;
Anyway, if you couldn't tell, the trip went well. Bought m'self a few trinkets to remember the good times by (including, following tradition, a dragon statue to add to the collection, and a little dog figurine wearing all old-style pilot garb... Course I had to get that as soon as I saw it. :3 ). I do have some bad news, though. No pictures. Yeah, I didn't have a camera for half of the trip, and I discovered only far too late that the disposable camera that I bought half-way through had a huge gash across the lens. Nothing would come out well at all if I developed it, so I'm not even wasting my cashmoneys. I did try to record little bits of monuments and such in a few second-long clips on my camcorder, but my band buddies messed up every shot. And I do mean -every- shot. ¬..¬;
Who knew five seconds was ample time to give someone to notice you're doing something and mess it up...? <<;
So...
Well, I can't really describe it, but if you go down there, you'll notice the difference right away.
...Well, it's cleaner than Warwick, NJ's air, anywho... <<;

Rant, News, and a Goodbye
General | Posted 17 years agoYou guys know I never make these things, but there's just a lot that has to be said. Probably because I don't make journals, it's all built up.
Anyway, here goes.
Okay, first the rant. The GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance) at my school was hosting a day of silence to protest a beating that occurred a few days ago. In my typical, open-minded fashion, I thought "more power to ya". What really left a bad taste in my mouth was how a lot of the other kids in the school behaved. Someone actually had "Straight pride" stickers with little male and female symbols around the words printed and distributed.
This is where I first get annoyed. I mean, it's easy to say that you're proud of being part of the widely accepted majority. That's like taking pride in enjoying eating food. Not many people don't enjoy eating food, so it's a pretty safe bet that everyone'll support you on that.
Okay, so it's a kinda weird parallel, but the point remains the same:
It takes virtually no courage to stand up and say "Look at me, I'm the norm!" like that. In fact, I think it's kind of cowardly, like they have to announce it because they're afraid that if they're quite for any period of time, people might start accusing them of being gay too. It takes much more courage to stand up for what you believe in when almost no one else does... Which is the case in my hometown, where we're essentially bred to be football players and cheerleaders, with the exception of the few of us who will ever amount to anything... Most of whom, by the way, were part of the day of silence, or choose not to be part with an intelligent reasoning.
What made it worse was the day, really. If they wore the stickers or shirts that they did on any other day, I probably would've just shrugged and kept walking. The fact that they chose the day of silence out of sheer spite, however, made me want to rip the stickers off peoples shirts all day.
Ironically, I was quiet most of the day, not as part of the protest, but because I knew I'd go off on a tangent about it if I opened my mouth to speak. It's really amazing, though, how just being quiet for the sake of having nothing to say had so many people glancing at me like they were afraid I was gonna rape 'em or something. Like I was a different person, and that when I wasn't even actually part of the protest, but just because of a misunderstanding.
There's more, much more, but I'm not going to get into it.
...Honestly, after today, I don't have much of their "straight pride" left. I'm really pretty disgusted by their actions.
Okay, the news. I'm headed to the UK on Saturday. I'll be there until Monday the 28th, so if anyone has anything they need to say to me before then, better get it out sometime today or tomorrow. It should be a lot of fun. I'll bring back pictures. :3
What's really got me amp'd up, though, is that, after months of waiting for a response, I just got accepted to West Chester University Pennsylvania! It was the only collage I applied to, so I was starting to get nervous after having to wait so long, but I got in, so it's all good. X3
Anyway, that's about it. ...Oh yeah, the Good-bye is just a public so-long for my trip to the UK. You know, in case I don't get to say so personally for whatever reason. Wish me luck over there, hope for my sake that I have a safe return. I'll hope to see you all in about a week, when I get back. ^^
Keep well, everyone. ^^

News, Everyone.
General | Posted 17 years agoWhile I haven't been able to completely fix my computer as of yet, I have at least managed to get my tablet working again. Yay. :3
So, I'm hoping to have some of the art that I desperately owe people finished some time this weekend... Don't quote me on that one, since you all know how I "suffer" from sloth, but that's my plan as of now.
Also, hurrah for me as I've finally figured out animations *points to his new avatar proudly*. X3
... Okay, so it's not great... ^^; But whaddaya expect from a first try, and with nothing more than Microsoft GIF Animator at that!... Seriously, have you ever tried to use that program? It simply will not co-operate! >..<;
So, anyway, just thought I'd let you all know. In case you were interested...
-Reed
(Also, a quick "thank you" (again) to Frost for his gift series for me about said tablet not working... Proving that "working" really depends on how you're using it. :3)
(Okay, end of journal...)
(For real this time.)

If anyone's been wondering...
General | Posted 17 years agoYes, I am still alive. I've just been having some life trouble and massive, paralyzing computer trouble. So, that's why I haven't been online much. I only have the computer potential right now to check messages and maybe talk to people just a bit. And that's limited even further by my time put into restoring the computer of my stuff and the even more time my dad is putting into restoring his stuff when I can't even go near the computer. Furthermore, my computer seems to have suffered some USB port damage for some reason... Severe USB port damage. As in, "I can't use my tablet to draw digitally or my scanner to digitize anything I draw on paper" bad damage. -..-;
Sooo... With that sad story explained, a quick apologie to every whom I still owe pictures to. (Particularly
Conneich, who was so kind as to have my picture finished and online in no time, while I still can't seem to get my half of the trade to her even this much later. Really sorry. Please be patient with me just a bit longer, I'm trying to get my system working right again.)
*Sigh* Broken computer, not fun. At least I have SSBB to keep myself occupied while waiting for my turn to keep fixing this junkbox...
If you don't like/care about Brawl, just don't read further... Or if you're religiously devoted to Ike to the point where you get offended whenever people speak ill of him.
Speaking of which, I've noticed an extreme underestimation of King Dedede online. And, though I'm not one to get offended just because people don't like the same character I do in a game, I'd like to explain that just because you can't use the character doesn't mean it's bad because the hypocrisy is just killing me inside.
Everyone seems to love Ike, probably because he's so simple to use (step one: Abandon "strategy"... whatever that is. step two: swing sword around until something dies). In my humble opinion, for what it's worth, Ike is crap. Partially because I've played as him and, yes, while it is easy to kill things by swinging his stupidly over-sized sword around provided said things walk to it like sheep to the slaughter, if he comes up against an enemy with any sense of strategy to speak of, he's dead. End of story. And here's why:
-Reason 1: Ike's ridiculously slow. Even his "fast" attacks are obscenely slow... And this all pesters me even more when I keep in mind that most of the praise I've heard for him involved him being "a faster tank".
-Reason 2: Ike has only one usable range. Medium. No long ranged attacks. No short ranged attacks. All. Medium.
-Reason 3: Ike lacks any significant recovering ability. I keep hearing how great his recovery is because it gives him super armour. Yeah, okay, that makes it great... If you exclude the fact that he already has a lack of horizontal recovery because of his weighty second jump and that it gives him almost no horizontal range. Plus, if you miss with it, that's it. Into the depths you go.
-Reason 4: If I keep going at this rate, this journal will never end.
Now, I don't mean to trash Ike. He has his good qualities, like his ability to kill enemies at about 70% damage. I just have to point out his poor attributes to make a point. The point being that everyone only looks at Dedede's bad points... And, having played Dedede semi-extensively, it seems most of that downsides that people love to point out about him only apply in selective circumstances.
So, now, I'm making a list of Dedede's commonly pointed out weaknesses with a counter for most:
-Reason 1: He's too slow. Well, yes, he is a tad slow... That is, if you're just trying to spam his side smash. He's got a number of attacks that are plenty fast. His back air, down smash, and up tilt are good examples of fairly powerful ones. And his rocket hammer is wildly fast and powerful, provided you take the time to charge it up first. Yes, we all know his side smash is slow, but that's because it's the most powerful normal attack in the game. If it were any faster, everyone would be throwing roses to his feet like dollar bills to a hooker... or like praise to Ike.
-Reason 2: He's too limited... Limited to what exactly?! Range? Unless you keep in mind that he's got short, medium, and long range attacks. Or perhaps in tactics? Again, only if you try to spam his side smash. Otherwise, Dedede's all about tactics. His main advantage is ability to lure his enemy to his turf, the part of the stage that works best with his current choice of attack, then beating them senseless. Besides which, his inhale is one of the most versatile moves in the game. I've used it to damage people, protect myself from thrown items, move people where I want them, kill enemies with each other (which the star can actually do if percentages are high enough.), spit people into the side for a kill if I get cornered (I try not to make a habit of it, though... ), inhale edge guarders and spit them under the stage (so they can't recover but I can), and, of course, the infamous kirbycide. I could go on with how versatile Dedede is, but I'm just going to end this reason here by noting how hypocritical it is for Ike fans to ever say that Dedede is too limited.
-Reason 3: His jumps aren't as good as other fliers'... Of course, the other fliers are all puffballs that get knocked off the screen by almost anything at 100% damage, with the exception of Pit. Dedede's jumps are easily enough to get him back to the stage under most circumstances, however, and his recovery move will usually make it so unwanted to be underneath him that he'll probably land okay too. Plus he's so heavy that it's really difficult to knock him very far, especially upward. Really, more jump power would just be unnecessary. Besides, it's still way better than Ike's lack of recoverability.
-Reason 4: He's not cool enough.
... He's a giant, blue, hammer-wielding, man-eating, minion throwing penguin. What more could you ask for?! I certainly prefer that to some blue-haired poser who uses a two-handed sword with one hand just to show off... Besides which, this is a stupid reason for considering a character less effective.
-Reason 5: He's too big. And, alas, I have no argument for this one. It's Dedede's one undeniable weakness. He's a huge target. But, hey, can't have everything in a character, for then we would go back to unbalanced gameplay.
What it really comes down to is knowing your character. The great thing about this game is that anyone who knows their character can be really great with whatever they're using. Balance is the key.
Finished ranting now for now. Hope to get my computer working right again soon.

So... SSBB and stuff. <<;
General | Posted 18 years agoI know, I'm sure everyone is just sick of hearing about this game every step they make. Boy, it sure will suck if it's not as good as all of this hype is making it out to be. There'll be riots in the streets and such...
...but I'm actually kind of excited about it. In fact, it's the first game I've ever reserved a copy of and kept tabs on the release date (well as more than an "It's released, I'll have to look for it next time I go to a store" thing... ^^; )
But this journal is more about the "And stuff" so let's get to it.
Okay, so, play season's over. I'm a little down about that, since I made so many friends there that I'm not gonna hear much from anymore... On the plus side, I've got time to waste my life again. I've already been spending a good amount of time practicing to get my drawing ability back to its half-way decent level from before play season. As such, I'm hoping to have everyone's trade pics finished soon.
Sorry for the delay, everyone. It's just that, since you all went through the trouble of making me these really nice pictures, I figure I should get my skills back up some first so I can repay you with something good too. I don't plan on repaying gold with rocks, so to speak. ^^
I'm also considering putting up a few of my recent practice doodles as scraps. I'll leave you on that thought. I guess just leave a comment saying so if you'd like to see 'em. ^^;
Later, everyone.

Erg.
General | Posted 18 years agoYes, I'm back. No, I'm not feeling too talkative right now. Yes, there is a reason why. No, I'm not completely addicted to a video game and just being lazy, I did and do have important things that need doing, particularly collage applications, midterms/finals for classes, multiple very large and important recently finished projects, ETC.
And I got tagged
Rules:
1. Post these rules
2. Each Tagged person must write 8 facts about themselves
3. The tagged person must post their facts in the journal they were tagged in.
4. You have to inform 8 people that they have been tagged on their userpage
1:
Severe hypocrisy really, REALLY pisses me off.
2:
I end up observing people from a philosophical standpoint in most of my classes.
3:
I play a character named Joe in the school play this year.
4:
Even mentioning anything about American politics will usually set me off on a rant about human stupidity and the like.
5:
I sometimes wish I weren't so skinny in real life.
6:
I only seem to buy TV show DVDs in complete sets. (Invader Zim, Hare+Guu, Ghost in the Shell, ETC.)
7:
Steampunk and cyberpunk fan.
8:
I just yawned.

Maybe or maybe not...
General | Posted 18 years agoI'm trying to decide if I should take a break from the internet for a bit. I've been so busy lately, some of you already know that I haven't been able to get online much. These next few weeks promise to make my already swamped schedule worse... Much worse...
What it comes down to is that I'm beginning to doubt if it'll even be possible for me to get online over the next few weeks, so I'm wondering if I should just claim it an official break from the net and not bother stressing out to try and get online...
I'm hoping it won't come to that, but I've been pretty good at sabotaging myself lately anyway. I'm sure one way or the other, I'll follow that trend. Oh well.
If anyone needs me, better contact me over the next day or two. I may not be using the internet anymore after that. We'll see, I suppose.

Happy Christmas!
General | Posted 18 years agoOh yes it was. I thought my Christmas couldn't get much better when I got:
-a new DVD of my favorite comedian
-both Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and
-Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii
-and Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for the DS
... Then I happened across my "big" gift for the year...
-A Wacom Intuos3 tablet for the computer!!! X3
Totally made my Christmas! I'm probably gonna spend most of tomorrow breaking it in. Expect quite a few digital practice doodles soon. I was so happy that I got it. I've wanted one for so long. ^^
My other great gifts included:
-new earbuds (all my other ones broke... D:)
-a new mic for the computer (to replace the one I had since our first family computer with a CD-Rom drive, which broke just a month or so ago. )
-Giftarts. :3 (particularly a very nice comic from
frostbite-w ... With prinnies. X3 )
-Cash. :3
-Clothes stuffs. (which is okay, because it's all really nice clothes stuffs that I actually like this year. (mostly cargo pants and hoodies as well as a nice jacket and a vorish T-shirt. :3 ))
-Body wash and deodorant... Which I got a surprising quantity of... Think my family's trying to tell me something...? D:
-New coloured pencils and a new sketch pad. (though the tablet defeats the purpose in some ways... ^^; )
-Other misc. stuff. Which is good. :3
...Then my sister's boyfriend came over and took over #
...Which was alright because he got us another Wii game as a gift. X3
...Then we went to a party with really bad food... DX
All in all, I had a good day, though. Yup. It was a good year. Hope everyone had an equally good year... Or better! ^^

Arg...!
General | Posted 18 years agoYou ever get that feeling that there's an evil banana with a sharpened spatula lurking around the corner, just waiting for you to come into view so it can chop off your leg with that knife-like spatula and cut slices of it onto its morning cereal...?
...Yeah, me neither... ^^;
Seriously, though, this week has been mad busy. First and foremost reason, the school play. After being told by everyone that I should try out for the past three years, I finally decided to. I even got a role in it, as I've now discovered. However, it took all day for about three days (including call-backs) to get the role, and it's a pretty minor one at that... So... yeah...
Next, regular homework. Lots of it. After having weeks of no homework, they pile it on now that I've so busy. I swear, it's a conspiracy of the teachers against me... >..<;
Then, Christmas stuff. Buying gifts, making gifts, everything. Madness, I say.
Finally, collage applications. Absolutely. Crazy...
...And I have actually contemplated putting myself as "other" where they ask ethnicity so I can get all the benefits. Then when they look at my pale skin and ask "What the hell kind of other are you?!" I can say "I prefer to be called a German-American and I'm tired of that darned Irish-American majority getting everything"...
... I won't really, but it would be fun to see their expressions. X3
So, yeah, that's fun. You all may have noticed my learning hypnosis series of late. Most of my other projects are on hold until I get it finished. Other than Frost's trade, I'm pretty much holding off on working on all requests. I won't be taking trades or anything to that effect until it's finished either, though I will let anyone who wants to start one right after I'm finished ask now so they're reserved...
...Oh yeah, and I actually did half hypnotize myself while studying it in school yesterday. That was fun. Pretty interesting stuff, really. I may have to do another series after this one that depicts a real life hypnosis victim's visualizations and such. It'll be cool. But that I'll have to put on the back-burner for awhile. Too much to do without it... ^^;;
Anyway, just thought I'd let everyone know why I've been gone all week.
Later.

More memes, Reed?!
General | Posted 18 years agoYes. More memes. :3
This one stolen from... well... lots of people. But particularly from
Lucca_manadragon
-THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS-
~ANGER~
1. With whom did you last get angry?
The world. D:
2. What is your weapon of choice?
Melee? Pole-arm (spear or halberd). Ranged? Shotgun. Vehicular? Aircraft, of course. :3
3. Would you hit a member of the opposite sex?
Only if they really, REALLY deserved it.
4. How about of the same sex?
Yes.
5. Who was the last person who got really angry at you?
Not sure. Probably Myself. If it needs to be someone else, a psychologically unstable girl named Robyn.
6. What is your pet peeve?
People ending everything they say online with "lol" and/or chatspeak. (So aggravating! )
7. Do you keep grudges, or can you let them go easily?
The little things are like water off a ducks back to me. The big things, though, I can carry with me for years. I try not to let either cloud my judgment, though.
~SLOTH~
1. What is one thing you're supposed to do daily that you haven't done in a long time?
Homework, clean my room, bring the dirty clothes down to the laundry room...
Oh, wait, just one thing? ... Sorry. ^^;
2. What is the latest you've ever woken up?
12 noon
3. Name a person you've been meaning to contact, but haven't.
Kari... None of you would know her, though.
4. What is the last lame excuse you made?
"I was almost finished, on the last paragraph, when Microsoft froze up on me and I had to reboot my computer and start from scratch. I have the paper here today, but since I had to re-rush through it, it's not so good. If I could just have one more day...?"
5. Have you ever watched an infomercial all the way through (one of the long ones)?
Yes. I would have needed to sit up to get to the remote and I just didn't feel like moving at the time, you know?
6. When was the last time you got a good workout in?
Few weeks to months ago.
7. How many times did you hit the snooze button on your alarm clock today?
My parents replaced my alarm clock with themselves shining a light on my face and yelling "are you awake yet?" three times every morning. (The snooze button is a privilege, not a right. <<; )
~GLUTTONY~
1. What is your overpriced yuppie beverage of choice?
Sobe.
2. White meat or dark meat?
Both. <<;
3. What is the greatest amount of alcohol you've had in one sitting/outing/event?
One sangria in Aruba because my parents wanted me to stop getting beat up for never drinking... <<;
4. Have you ever used a professional diet company?
No. Don't need to (wickedly high metabolism). Wouldn't even if I did.
5. Do you have an issue with your weight?
Wickedly. High. Metabolism. ¬..¬
6. Do you prefer sweets, salty foods, or spicy foods?
Spicy foods. I can seldom resist getting something spicy whenever I go out to eat. ^^;
...Though I do have a small hoard of candy in my room that I keep looking at longingly, and when I finally find it in myself to go get something from it, I decide I'd rather go eat some chips or something instead. ^^;
7. Have you ever looked at a small housepet or child and thought, LUNCH?
Yes... Oh man, I'm more of a vore than I thought... O..o;
...In my defense, I don't think I've ever thought it seriously, just as a sort of side-thought. <<;
~LUST~
1. How many people have you seen naked (not counting movies/family)?
None yet. ^^;
...Well, one actually, but I don't care to disclose the details... <<;
2. How many people have seen YOU naked (not counting physicians/family)?
None that I can think of...
3. Have you ever caught yourself staring at the chest/crotch of a member of your gender of choice during a normal conversation?

4. Have you done it?
Done what? O..o;
Oh, IT! ^^; No, not yet.
5. What is your favorite body part on a person of your gender of choice?
Their eyes.
6. Have you ever been propositioned by a prostitute?
No.
7. Have you ever had to get tested for an STD or pregnancy?
Well, that wouldn't make much sense with the rest of my answers, now would it? X3
~GREED~
1. How many credit cards do you own?
Two. Well, one's pre-paid and the other is debt, but same thing, right?
2. What's your guilty pleasure store?
E.B. Games. I get in there and I can't help but try to buy everything. ^^;
3. If you had $1 million, what would you do with it?
I'd spend most of it on my collage education. What's left after that I'd use to move out of the US. Anything after that I'd probably give away to friends in need. ^^;
4. Would you rather be rich, or famous?
Famous. I want to live forever though the memory of others!
5. Would you accept a boring job if it meant you would make megabucks?
... boring how? "I've got nothing to do, really so I'll sit around and balance pencils on my nose" boring, or "Oh God, I'm so sick of doing the same thing DAY after DAY!" boring? The first one, sure. The second one, no.
6. Have you ever stolen anything?
Not that I can think of. I even try to return pencils however possible if I accidentally take them from someone... X3
7. How many MP3s are on your hard drive?
If my hard drive with all my mp3s was working, I'd tell you. ^^;
I'll estimate about 300, but some of them are really long songs. (my longest song is over 42 minutes. ^^; )
~PRIDE~
1. What one thing have you done that you're most proud of?
...I kept someone who will always remain very special to me alive when she would otherwise be dead.
2. What one thing have you done that your parents are most proud of?
I think my performance in a local play over the summer... <<;
3. What thing would you like to accomplish in your life?
I'd like to act in a great play or movie... Or play in a GOOD rock band.
4. Do you get annoyed by coming in second place?
It really depends on:
-How many were there?
-Were the others better equipped?
-Was there something I could have done that would have boosted me to first and I just messed up?
5. Have you ever entered a contest of skill, knowing you were of much higher skill than all the other competitors?
Among friends, yeah. Officially, no. I don't find much fun in knocking someone who I know already is worse than me down another peg.
6. Have you ever cheated on something to get a higher score?
Nope. Not that I can think of.
7. What did you do today that you're proud of?
I started to draw a series I've been wanting to do... Then I came home sick and haven't done much of anything since... ^^;
~ENVY~
1. What item (or person) of your friends would you most want to have for your own?
My friend Tokiri's Laptop. It's an Apple, which already makes it better than a Microsoft, but I've also wanted a decent computer to call my own since I was like four years old! (And yet, my parents gave their old laptop to my younger sister instead and wouldn't let me have any of the old desktops that we've simply thrown out since... >..<; )
2. Who would you want to go on Trading Spaces with?
I dunno.
3. If you could be anyone else in the world, who would you be?
I'm not gonna say. :3
4. Have you ever been cheated on?
Yeah. Once. That gives me a fifty-fifty "being cheated on" ratio... I sure can pick 'em, huh? T..T
5. Have you ever wished you had a physical feature different from your own?
What's the limit, here? ^^;
I guess, if I could pick one, my wrists. It's nothing emo, it's just that I've always had really thin wrists and I dislike seeing my tendons and veins every time I see them... It makes me feel oddly vulnerable. <<;
6. What inborn trait do you see in others that you wish you had for yourself?
Ignorance. In my hometown, a line taken right from "Nineteen Eighty-four", "Ignorance is strength" (mixed with the classic phrase of "ignorance is bliss") is so held true that I've always felt almost handicapped... <<;
7. Finally, what is your favorite deadly sin?
Define favorite... <<;
I think gluttony and sloth both describe me pretty readily, so they're kind of my favorites in that sense... But greed has always been such an overwhelming aspect of human nature that most modern cultures are, in fact, founded on now, so greed is my favorite in that sense... I could go on, but I bet I'm boring anyone who's actually reading this... ^^;;

Welcome back
General | Posted 18 years agoYes, I'm back in The States from Aruba. Kinda upset about FA being down when I got back. I had been back in the USA for about an hour when I got home and already had a rant about why I hate it here again all ready... It was gonna come with a list too. It would've been a good one... Oh well.
Yeah... School's being a pain. Won't let me go out and "Plan my life" or anything like that. They're saying I've accumulated too many sick days and I won't pass like half of my classes if I'm out sick again; then all the future planning and collage visits in the world won't do me much good, now will they?... Meanwhile, I'm trying to make up insane amounts of work from my being out for vacation. Not from a bunch of my classes either, oh-no, just international business... Which, by the way, is such a poorly designed course that I could SWEAR I knew alot MORE about international business before I took the class than I do now! Terrible book coupled with a poor teacher does not a good class make... All my other classes, though, gave me the information I needed and handed me a test or quiz the next day. Fun. Now I'm actually more behind in them too because it killed class time to take the tests... So much fun... ¬..¬;
Work, I still have none. Which is okay because I haven't had a chance to spend more than maybe fifty dollars since I quit my last job anyway. Actually, I've gained money since then. Stock Market with full insurance. Good thing. :3
... I'm gonna miss my money when I get a chance to go Christmas shopping for my folks... <<;
...Oh well.
Working on a few little art projects. They're going slowly now, but they'll probably speed up once my life comes back together after all this chaos...
Now, then, I do believe I was tagged by

That is all... for now.

Yeah... School's being a pain. Won't let me go out and "Plan my life" or anything like that. They're saying I've accumulated too many sick days and I won't pass like half of my classes if I'm out sick again; then all the future planning and collage visits in the world won't do me much good, now will they?... Meanwhile, I'm trying to make up insane amounts of work from my being out for vacation. Not from a bunch of my classes either, oh-no, just international business... Which, by the way, is such a poorly designed course that I could SWEAR I knew alot MORE about international business before I took the class than I do now! Terrible book coupled with a poor teacher does not a good class make... All my other classes, though, gave me the information I needed and handed me a test or quiz the next day. Fun. Now I'm actually more behind in them too because it killed class time to take the tests... So much fun... ¬..¬;
Work, I still have none. Which is okay because I haven't had a chance to spend more than maybe fifty dollars since I quit my last job anyway. Actually, I've gained money since then. Stock Market with full insurance. Good thing. :3
... I'm gonna miss my money when I get a chance to go Christmas shopping for my folks... <<;
...Oh well.
Working on a few little art projects. They're going slowly now, but they'll probably speed up once my life comes back together after all this chaos...
Now, then, I do believe I was tagged by

Leaving again.

I'll be gone up until Friday evening (though it may be super early on saturday for my friends in the UK. You know, just as a note. ^^; )
I'm bringing a sketch pad and some drawing stuffs. With any luck, I'll have a couple of good doodles for you all when I get back. I may even ink some of 'em if I like 'em alot. ^^
I'm not sure if I'll have internet access. If I do, I may take a few moments out of my busy schedule of relaxing and hanging out with iguanas to get online and chat with everyone. If I don't, see you all eventually. ^^;
Later, everyone. ^^

What is your fursona?
Reed.
Reed "Wulf".
Where did the name of your Fursona come from?
Well, Reed is my real life middle name, so I thought it would work well considering that he's my inner self.
...Wulf originates from the german plane series. I like planes. Note the pilot scarf, cap and goggles. They are there for more than to look awesome.
What species is your fursona and why did you choose that species?
Igwulf. Also spelled Igwolf. Either's right.
He was originally a normal dragon. Then a dragon-wolf. Then and iguana-wolf. And that pretty much became the igwulf, a species all its own...
What colour is your fursona and why? Hair/fur/eyes/etc.
Fur: Red
Stripes: Black
Eyes: Hazel
Mouth and tongue: Green
Claws: usually not shown and I don't feel like telling you for when they are...
Why?: ...Because. Red. <<;
What is your fursona's personality and how does this compare to your real life personality?
Reed is really cynical internally, but he likes to act cheery and agreeable on the outside. He generally feels pretty distant from society, and doesn't like people as a whole, just individuals. Shy in a very outgoing way. He only feels truly comfortable around people he likes and has known for a fairly long time. He can be quite a jerk at times. Loves irony. Very lazy (adopted as one of his mottos, "I'll do anything to do nothing" ). Always hungry.
What is one thing you would say to your fursona if you could meet?
Er, hello... Why aren't you in my head right now...? <<;
What is one thing your fursona would say to you if you could meet?
Prove that I'm not... :3
How has your fursona changed over the years?
Well, I've already mentioned that he changed from a dragon to a dragon wolf to an iguana wolf to igwulf. After the transition to Igwulf, he hasn't changed too much physically. Just got chubby. And fuzzier. Oh, and he used to have claws on his right paw and both footpaws, now they're never shown (though that doesn't mean they're not there... ).
Mentally, he's gone from being an uncomfortable, little, emotionally distant ball of hatred and paranoia to a cuddly, more confident, less paranoid, little ball of irony. This community's really changed me for the better, methinks.
How long have you had this fursona?
*shrugs* Couple of years? Seems like forever.
Would you like to be more like your fursona?
Reed and I are pretty much one in the same. It's just that he's my inner self, my thoughts and ideas expressed in their best, most polished forms. I'm... well... me. And even though Reed and I have both grown alot, I still have trouble expressing myself when he's not there to articulate things for me. So, to answer, yes, I would love to be more like Reed.
...There, you've got some background on the igwulf now. <<;

General | Posted 18 years agoHatchday on monday. (And yes, a little known fact, igwolves are hatched from eggs. More often than not, I'll just call it a birthday too, though. I mean, they're technically the same thing, right? ^^; )
As I was saying, birthday on Monday the 8th. *coughs loudly* And, as usual, my luck and karma have perfect timing... ^^; Almost my birthday, seeing Spam-a-Lot tomorrow, was supposed to march in the first big band competition of the year today, and I happen to get really sick now of all times. Oh well, such is life, right. If this is the worst shot the rest of my days of living brings, I suppose I can die happy. ^^ (And, hopefully, not any time soon. ^^; )
Other news, I took the SATs this morning. I know, it's a little late for a senior to be taking the SATs, but I'm lazy. ¬..¬
Anyway, I think I didn't quite well. Only time will tell for sure, though, huh? I think I would have done better if my head wasn't pounding and I didn't have to look away to cough every few seconds...
Oh, yes, and Luuly, I haven't forgotten about your request, so no worries. ^^ Last chance to put in anything other than a free draw surprise you thing, though.
I've also been playing too much Disgaea 2 again... When you're bed-ridden from sickness for three days straight with only a PS2 within bed range for entertainment between naps, there's not much else to do... ^^;;
Besides, prinnys! ^^
That is all... I think.

Can Someone Inform Me...?
General | Posted 18 years ago(Caution: If anyone finds this journal more than slightly offensive, they should probably go and find themselves a good brain and brush up on their history and literature. Remember, lawsuits don't prevent discrimination, they only mask it until it's too late. Only intelligence, empathy and action can cause change. )
(Or, if you think you may be offended by the mentioning of such things as potentially racially offensive gestures or the revelation of some of America's hypocrisies, you can just skip to the area below the spacer. You've been warned! )
Is it bad if one looks out of an open second story window and one's first thought is "I wonder if a fall from this height would kill me..." O..o;
Weirdest part, I wasn't thinking it suicidally or anything like that, I actually just genuinely wanted to know...
Weird...
Or how about this one, is it bad when being in an honours history class causes one to loose credit in another class because the two classes have contradictory information? True story. I went from a 100% A+ on a test in one class to an 85% B because I used information from my honours history class (western civilization) to disprove the correct answer of the question and lost credit despite my being right...
School... ¬..¬;
Now that that's over, I would like to announce some important dates in my life coming up.
September 24 (next monday) - I'm finished working at Shoprite. XD
October 8 - My hatchingday. :3
Some time in the next week - computer'll probably stop working... Again... ^^;;
Also some time in the next week - I plan to finish up all of my requests. (a special apology goes out to my good buddy Frost. I can't apologize enough for taking so long on this request. I'm REALLY sorry, there's no real excuse for my taking so long. I hope you'll forgive me)
Today - Finally got the Clark 15B shotgun unlock on Battlefield 2142. X3
Tomorrow - I just try to make it though another long, long, seemingly endless day... <<;
I think that's all...
For now...

Ahhh...
General | Posted 18 years agoIt's like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, I swear. I'm in a great, incredible, happy mood right now. ^^ I can't remember the last time I felt so good. Why all this happiness? Well, I'm not really sure, but I feel most of it has to do with the fact that I submitted my two weeks notice today. ^^
Yup, you read correctly, the igwolf finally got tired of being treated like crap by his employers because he had to ask for a few days off. I really needed the time off anyway, I just didn't have the time for work AND band AND school AND looking for collages AND everything else in my life. I probably would have put in that two weeks sooner, but I kept telling myself "they'll probably promote me soon if I keep working so hard just a bit longer. I'd feel silly if I quit right before getting promoted." Then I realized that I was kidding myself, wrote a letter of resignation (Which my mom insisted didn't seem too snarky, so I made it so by writing with such sophistication that it was obvious to the managers that I'm smarter than they are. >:3 )
But, enough about that. I need to apologize for my recent absence from the internet, work played a major role in that, so it should get better in a couple of weeks. Until then, I'll just get on when I can. Plus, two of my home's three computers died at the same time. That obviously didn't help much... ^^;
I haven't forgotten about you, request peoples. RD and Luuly, your requests are on the way (just as soon as I come up with a good idea... ^^;; ). Frost, is there any chance of getting your request changed? I'm having so much trouble with it... ^^;;
Oh, yeah, I and I replaced my AIM screen name on my contact info with my MSN handle... because I like MSN more... ^^; If anyone rather contact me over AIM, by all means, note me for that screen name. Feel free to start a conversation with me. I don't bite people. ^^
I guess that's about all. If I forgot something, don't hesitate to remind me. ^^

Yey. (and, you know, not. )
General | Posted 18 years agoBand's "Hell Week" is over. Seen the Bourne Ultimatum. Getting ranks like crazy on Battlefield 2142. Meeting new friends. Day off tomorrow. Profile updated. And, last but not certainly least, my art for the first time in however long is finally showing improvement. So much so that I'm actually drawing on my free-time instead of just as an "I'm-bored-in-a-place-with-a-pencil-and-piece-of-paper-so-what-now?" type of thing. My life's really looking up for once.*knock on wood* ^^
Hurr... Life... Speaking of which, there's a very strong smell of kerosene in my area for some reason and the lazy cops in my township aren't doing a darn thing to check it out or whatnot. I'm sure it's nothing, but... Well... If I should die before I wake...
Just figured I'd let everyone know what may have happened... <<;
With that out of the way, I'm fairly well caught up on everything I'm supposed to draw. So, I'm asking (and hoping I won't regret doing so later) for requests and trades. I'll put three slots up, and write who's getting them in the order that they're filled. Any previous things that I haven't finished yet are still on the way, no worries... Though you may or may not want to remind me on here... ^^;

General | Posted 18 years agoYou know those days where you feel like nothing can get you down? Were every little insult and situation that goes wrong in your life is just like water on a ducks back to you? This isn't one of those days...
The only reason I'll discuss here is that I'm in a huge slump all of the sudden. Don't expect any art anytime soon. I might finish my trade with Zearo if I can manage to get my pencil to even make one more picture, but other than that...

Har har har...
General | Posted 18 years agoPeople suck. We live in a society where one cannot defend another or what one believes without being mocked by responses as stupid as "NO U" (ugh... the walking /b/ memes... It's a website and not even a very good one at that, try to break free of your stand alone complex, /B/tards. ) or accusations of being fake (Oooh, the irony... ). Riddle me this, how is speaking in intelligently formed, full sentences on the internet fake? Should it not mean that I'm more real than people who use chat-speak, rather than less? For anyone who doesn't know what his is about, it's about the recent internet drama over a recent pic about Spencer. I've stood up for him with an intelligent response and am now being flamed for it. This journal, with that said, is, more than anything, to tell any of you who have just started bothering me for standing up for a friend, I will not warrant any of your mindless, immature crap with a response past this journal. With that said, go right on ahead and waist your time.
With that out of the way, I'm having a good time on vacation. Just saw Weird Al in concert the other night, that was pretty awesome... Except that we had more people who suck at life right over our shoulders, chatting and making week plans the whole time. Oh well, these things happen, eh? My vacation ends tomorrow, but it was fun while it lasted...
That's about all... I think... (?)

I'm Such a Thespian. :3
General | Posted 18 years agoFor anyone reading this who doesn't know what that means, don't assume that it's anything like what it sounds like... (That would be especially awkward because I am, in fact, a guy... ) I'll save you the trouble of looking it up and just tell you that a Thespian is an actor/actress, one involved in drama and the theatrical arts. As such, it is true, I am one. At my family's suggestion(, My sister specifically, probably hoping to see me humiliate myself... ^^; ) I tried out for a local play of High School Musical. I got the second male role (a character named Chad), and I only apparently didn't get lead because they called in a professional to do that... O.o;
While I'm not one for musicals, my family kind of insisted that I give it a shot. Who knew I'd do well...? ^^; As an added bonus, my character doesn't have to do much singing and dancing, mostly just acting. How perfect for me. ^^
However, my character is supposed to be black (so to speak). Which is awkward because I'm probably one of the whitest white guys I know (... so to speak... ^^; ) It should make it... interesting. I'm having fun with it so far, though. Plus it's like I'm popular there. Which is just weird. But in a good way. ^^
Moving on, I've been into drawing alot more again lately for some reason. Just thought I'd give the heads up...
I'll probably be doing some more on the web comic. I've been working on characters and a few episodes of it have come to mind and just made me chuckle. I'll have to get at least far enough to finish some of those. ^^
Aaaaaand. I think that's just about it...
