🎉 It's my birthday 🎂
Posted 8 months agoHas it really been another year? Time goes by so much faster as you get older.
Well, happy birthday to me, hopefully it will be a great year.
If you'd like to give me a present, watching my secondary account - jomei.soraoka would be most welcome (that's where commissioned art for my novel will be posted, I'm an aspiring novelist.)
Don't feel obligated though 😊
Have a great day everyone! This is so frustrating (rant)...
Posted 11 months agoHello everyone,
I hope you are doing well.
This is more of a vent for me than it is anything, so let me just start with the fact I love to support artist. Purchasing art of my characters is fun to me.
That being said, while 98 percent of all my purchases and interactions with artists go fairly smoothly and well, I have had a couple of bad experiences with artists, whom I shall not name but believe me I will never support them in anyway at all.
Sometimes the art I paid for is never provided and they completely ignore my messages and never respond. First of all, how incredibly rude of you. Shame on you if you are an artist that does that.
I know the general rules: go for reputable artists, artists that have a full gallery, have lots of clients, are active, and whatnot but sometime you want to give smaller artists a chance.
Regardless of price, whether it is a 20 dollar commission or a 200 dollar commission, a service has been paid for, and it doesnt matter if this is a hobby or full time job, I strongly believe that artists should have the decency and responsibility to their client and communicate and provide the service that has been paid for.
I try to be understanding and patient and kind, but when an artist ignores me after months of silence, I'm sorry I find them to be the scum of the earth. Like you are a deplorable person.
I understand it's a risk, but I feel like as a client sometimes I have absolutely no rights or control of anything in the process and if I get ripped off, oh well, right? It's unfair and just so disrespectful to the client. I just don't even know what to think of these situations.
The worst part about it is that there's not much to be done. My money is gone and I have to be okay with it. I'm not, but I have to be.
Ugh! How frustrating...
I'm sorry for the long rant, but I just had to get this frustration out in the universe.
There are many great and lovely artists out there, and I appreciate you! Keep doing a good job, you're awesome.
Those of you who are bad eggs. Screw you!
Sorry for being rude.
Thank you for reading.
I hope you are doing well.
