I actually managed to get an interview with a studio that I met at the job fair! If I do manage to get a job then I hope to post much more personal art in place of all the commissions and adoptables I've been doing as a means to pay my bills. I hope people would stick around for my characters and such if I do ;v;

Last week I actually had to take this old laptop to a repair shop for a few days, so that's the reason why the batch of adoptables was so late this time. I got slapped with a hefty repair fee, so I'm going to try to make two more detailed adoptables at set prices to try and pay that amount off.

With my usual batches of adoptables, even if it were to sell out completely it's barely enough to pay my rent. I've been toying with the idea of finally raising my adoptable prices again, after years of it being static to keep up with my bills that have been going up. All these bills really have my anxiety going, haha;;;

I just wanted to let everyone know what was up, idk. I'll be opening for commissions shortly as well! And thanks again to everyone who adopted all those otters! ;v;

Creating an RP group is a lot of work, I used to have two on DA a long time ago so I know how much goes into putting one together and keeping it afloat. I'm still looking for ways to bring people together with something fun to do, and the way I did it in the past was with rping, so I'm wondering how many of you out there also like to rp?

If so, what kinds of settings/themes do you like? Sci-fi, fantasy, school life, post apocalyptic, something with factions, etc?

I'm not sure if I would have the time to start something this big right now, but I wanted to see if there was any interest for it, and if so, where it could even be hosted? FA's forums seem kind of inadequate to me, there's not much in way of presentation and customization. DA is where I'm most familiar with things and you can really customize the group's look.

Discord was also suggested to me which would be a first, but I could at least see it working for chatrooms, hell there's even voice chat and image sharing and you can create multiple channels to separate general chat from rp chat,etc.

I don't know many more suitable options than those myself, but let me know what you guys think about all of this! ;v;

Gonna offer less slots than usual this time around, since I really dropped the ball this month with the two weeks I spent in Baltimore and I threw off my schedule once again ^^;

I will be taking a break from the one-of-a-kind custom icons for a while, so I will just be offering the $50 kinds of icons for now. For this month specifically I'll open 4 slots to see how fast I can do them, I might open more if I have time before the month ends~

In the past two weeks I've been staying with my lovely friends in Baltimore so I could attend Bronycon for the first time, and also meet a lot of my US friends as well as some friends that came from overseas! It was a wonderful experience, I hope that perhaps next year I could go again too. ;v;

I even got to try out Pokemon GO on my friend's spare phone, it's too bad that once I go back to Canada I won't be able to play anymore until it's released there. The whole release of this game is a mess. XD

It's going to be a long drive and so, even though I wanted to open commissions today it looks like I'll have to hold off until I'm settled back at home, or else a lot of messages will go unanswered for a bit. I'm working on a new adoptable batch too but I've been distracted over the trip so that will be a while yet as well.

Also, in regards to commissions I'm thinking of not offering custom animated icons anymore (the $100 one). The slots for those do get filled and that makes me happy that people want them, but to work on animations in photoshop is a huge pain and is often triple or more the effort of the templates I offer. I also feel that after all that work, I don't think people have been satisfied with the final product which has been putting me down lately. A lot of requests for what the animations should be have also been really complex lately and I don't know how to regulate that, almost every time what I have to animate is just skirting the edge of FA's icon filesize limit and it's not exactly easy to explain to people why I had to compress their icon or "make it uglier" in order for it to even be usable on FA.

I do also have Flash and can technically animate in that, but the reason why I've been reluctant is because I don't know enough about exporting icons and compressing them to be confident in using it. I had even considered still keeping them open and just charging even more for them to make it more worth my trouble, but I feel that also raises people's expectations for the final product (and rightfully so if it's a lot of money). So I don't know, perhaps the best thing to do for now is to just let it go and if anything, focus on making more templates that people can pick from. I've been considering offering just blinking icons or icons of multiple scrolling expressions (like something you'd see in an rpg) as well, or even just static headshots for a cheaper icon option.

Just be aware that with this option, extra coloring effects will be added intentionally to the design, but in a way that does not interfere with the true colors of the characters, such as the example above with the limbs, the eyes and the hair.
