Drinking: Salted Caramel Frappuccino (thank go it's back!!!)
A couple people asked where I've been, so thought I'd do an update... been dealing with house-crap. Spent most of today pulling wet lint out of the dryer vent... ten feet of lint accumulation. I'm assuming the damned things never been cleaned before today. It was like pushing three drowned cats through a space the width of a coke bottle. Oh yeah... fun was had. I'm pretty sure I'll have some upper-respiratory infection by day's end
Otherwise, I'm generally meh... XD

's journal. She has some serious Holiday cuteness for sale Promised I'd give her a mention 'cause she's been so good to me in the past.

, my dear friend and writing companion, recently transformed my beloved Quill into a star-ship captain - sorta Captain Malcolm Reynolds meets sexy qilin For a greymuzzled Traveller junkie, this lovely surprise is a serious slice of Cool. I urge you to go check it out, as well as enjoy her other wonderful works: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17615240/
Despite virtually no sleep, I'm feeling pretty darn inspired this week. Not only is one of my all-time favorite franchises getting its own TV Series - Ash vs Evil Dead - but AMC is embracing The Rule of Cool with its own new series Into the Badlands. Finally, stories I can sink my teeth into! Considering this is the stuff I write in mainstream fiction, it makes me smile like a loon :)
Keep an eye out for new art coming... and have an inspired week

Long weekend is here... Meh. Really didn't need a day-off, as autumn becomes my busiest part of the year. But, may as well use the time off, so probably disappearing for most of it. Going to be working on mainstream stuff, a little gift work, draw, read, and catching up on some sleep - which I desperately need. I've had the Zion Rave non-stop edit going just to keep my eyes open... my office ~loves~ me XD Apparently, greymuzzles like me need more than two hours of sleep every night :P
So, anyway, don't be upset if it takes me a little while to get back to you - be it Note or Comment. Just knows I luvs you.
Have a glorious long weekend guys... eat, drink, and be relatively merry <3
~En
PS: I'll be winding down RPs soon, as well, in preparation for NaNoWriMo.

Some more stuff going to appear for shortly, including an entire make-over for Quill... which has me rather excited, as I have no idea what it's going to look like - part of the project, as it were.
So, thank you again for sticking around
UPDATE: Submission sent out to Third Eye Games... keep your fingers crossed.

Well, after more delays than a Wachowskis project, Curse of the Snowy Armadillo is releasing this week... more than likely tomorrow. So much for a ~small~ project LOL Already twice as long as I intended. And now I know more about armadillos than I thought possible.
Just going through the final edit, and maybe another drawing. But, thought you might like a preview.... so here's the official teaser for Chapter One - Trouble with Truffles.
Goddess, please let me live.
Hollis’s pulse hammered in his ears, limbs screaming with exhaustion, paws and muzzle numb with bitter cold. Every frantic, hurried step in the deep snow taxed him behind his physical limits. The canine’s prowess had always leant more toward the intellectual, and not the athletic. He couldn’t maintain this desperate pace.
But fear ruled him now, guiding him ever forward.
Which explained why he was now completely and hopelessly lost.
A woman’s scream cut across the forested mountain side, echoing up from the darkness far behind him.
Jennifer.
The wind consumed the sound, erasing her with a cruel finality.
Guilt twisted in his chest. The young scientist had been his responsibility, having dragged her halfway across the globe on this fool’s errand. He’d cared for Jennifer, even loved her, perhaps. She’d been an innocent, a gentle heart. Beautiful, beyond measure.
And, at the first sign of trouble, he’d left her. Left her to die. Left them all to die in the flames and screams and shadows.
Because he wanted to live. Needed to live.
Hollis ducked under a fallen tree, pressing his back into its trunk. No longer moving, the cold penetrated his sweat-soaked fur like a knife, the torn parka offering little protection. It was a grim reminder of his predicament. Even without whatever was hunting him, he’d more than likely freeze to death before the night was out.
He couldn’t go back; the camp was in ruins, a burnt-out abattoir. The nearest settlement was five days away in good weather – even if he knew which direction to go. Wreathed in moonlight, the mountains and valleys looked the same in every direction, all silver and specters.
Freezing. No food. And hunted like an animal.
Please, Goddess, let me live.
“Tcho-tcho!”
Hollis’s head snapped up. The inhuman voice had been close. Too close.
He shivered, nervously scanning the umbrous forest. Nothing stirred, not even shadows. The vista appeared tranquil, enchanting, the snow glittering like a thousand diamonds. But long forgotten senses – deep and primal – screamed at him to remain perfectly still, to not even breathe.
A shadow unfurled itself from the darkness, moving like oil across the snow.
Gaunt as bleached wood, all angles and brittle bones, it scuttled on spidery limbs – a child’s crude stick figure. And its face. Goddess, what happened to its face?
It raised its hairless skull to the night sky, shrieking. “Tcho-tcho!”
“Tcho-tcho!” came the reply.
Directly behind him.
Hollis’s blood turned to slush.
He spun, but the creature was on him before he could scream.
He screamed soon enough. When its companions arrived.
And began to feed.
It wasn’t long before he renounced his previous prayer.
Goddess, please let me die!

On a positive note, I now know more about British India and the Tibetan Plateau than I ever thought possible So, chapter one of COTSA, Truffles of Terror, will be coming out in short order.
But will be quiet again this weekend while I bang away at the keys Minus the hour when I'm howling like a loon at the TV during Strike Back.

Raffle - Curse of the Snowy Armadillo [CLOSED]
Posted 10 years ago(Raffle is closed... please see http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6867907/)
Hello watchers,
Thank you again for wonderful support. I’m shocked and flattered that I’ve broken the 100+ mark. I owe it all to you, so I want the chance to give back a little.
And, thus, I’m beginning this little experiment. I’m going to begin writing a pulp fiction serial - Curse of the Snowy Armadillo. It will be steampunk adventure stretching from Victorian London to the horrifying Plains of Yig; a rip-snorting story rife with action, danger, humor, treachery, and possibly snoo-snoo. Think Lovecraft meets Monty Python mixed together in pulpy goodness.
This is were you come in Watchers:
I’m offering up six ‘guest’ slots in the story - members of the Quill-Cuttlebottom Expedition. These are:
Sir/Lady <?> Umbrage - British biologist and professor from King’s College (said to be as stiff as the taxidermy they collects)
<?> von Zimmerkollege - German agronomist and map-maker (obviously the villain of the story…they’re ~German~ )
Sir/Lady <?> Cuttlebottom - British entrepreneur financing the expedition (and suffering from a highly unfortunate name).
<?> McGuffin - American animal-handler and expert with guns (known for their dark and shady past).
Sir/Lady <?> Laggard - Professor of Asian and Indian Studies at the Royal British Museum. (Brilliant, if incomprehensible)
Prince/Princess <?> Amaro - Italian Mountaineer and survivalist (not to mention sexiest person in the group)
Together, they will help Lady Quill find and document the elusive Snowy Armadillo of Tibet. You can see the lovely Lady Quill here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17007189/
So, how do you get in the story? Funny you should ask.
Please reply to this journal, following these instructions:
1) Provide a linked Character Reference. Picture preferred, but written info is a bonus;
2) Suggest which character you’d like to portray - include your reason if you like;
3) Please answer “Yes” that you provide the author full creative freedom to use your character - no complaining that YOUR Lady Cuttlebottom wouldn’t do such-n-such;
4) Please answer “Yes” that you accept the possibility your character will meet with an untimely demise by any or all of the following: being eaten, shot, stabbed, crushed, drowned, falling, impaled, snoo-snooed, immolated, by magical curse, etc… as well as transformed or driven permanently insane. Lovecraftian stories rarely end well for people ; and
5) (Optional) Briefly tell me why your became a watcher.
Most importantly, this opportunity is for ~current~ watchers. You guys got me here, so you get first dibs. If you want to give me a single boost, that’d be awesome but not necessary.
Guest characters will be chosen and announced one week from tonight (7/13/15). If you don’t win, don’t sweat it… anyone who offers up their character will more than likely get a walk-on role at some point during the serial - be it a donkey herder or gourd merchant. And, seriously, if you can't answer "yes" to 3 & 4, don't send your character... this is for fun... and it won't be fun if I get nasty-grams.
Good luck guys! I really hope this works If not, at least you’ll get one amusing short story… XD

Posted 10 years agoHello everyone,
Wow, guys. I go away for a weekend and I come back to over 100 watchers! You guys are amazing Thank you so much for your interest. Please accept my deepest appreciations and these plates of pretend cookies!
There are more stories on the horizon, including the sequel to “Balloon Moon Rising.” Maybe even a mini-comic. So, I hope you’ll stick around
May I ask, what kinds of stories you like to see in the future? Any themes or genres?
Thank you again,
PS: I'm really thinking of holding a raffle for a 2,500 words story, as a way to say thanks. But I'm sort of leery... don't want anyone to feel left out, even though it'd be randomly selected. Thoughts?

May I ask, what kinds of stories you like to see in the future? Any themes or genres?
Thank you again,
PS: I'm really thinking of holding a raffle for a 2,500 words story, as a way to say thanks. But I'm sort of leery... don't want anyone to feel left out, even though it'd be randomly selected. Thoughts?
Almost 100 Watchers... WTH?!
Posted 10 years agoWow, it appears I've taken a bit of a jump in the number of watchers recently Thank you guys! I greatly appreciate your interest
So, I'm thinking if I break the 100 mark, I'll hold a raffle... free short story to one of my awesome watchers. What do you think?
Feel free to give me a signal boost if you like

Play with Me
Posted 10 years agoRecently, the talented
joesephjackal offered a unique YCH opportunity, featuring your character as a chess piece. I couldn't help but offer up my shy, little fox-wife, Tsukimi. Using only a written description, he perfectly captured my character!
The results are truly cool: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16021959/. I'm the fourth pawn from the left - the one in the porkpie hat XD

Fried Tofu and Fuzzy Tails
Posted 11 years agoConsidering my blackened soul and thirst for sanity-twisting horrors,
I find it difficult to admit this... I've absolutely fallen in love with
Golden Sky Stories
(http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/produ.....en-Sky-Stories).
It's such a clever and cute RPG, not to mention a fun read (even with
the translation issues). Simply put, the author decided to create a
game shaped from the imagination of Hayao Miyazaki. No physical
conflict, no sweeping story lines with doom and gloom. Just pure fun
and magic. The players (Henge) wander around town helping people.
That's it. They get to be Totoro... solving seemingly minor problems
in peoples lives. But if you look at the true undercurrents of the
game (and the stories it tells), it's in someways far more poignant
than grander, bloodier sagas. Indeed, the core principle of the game
is the inter-connection between the characters and their environment
(a rural town). As a writer (and GM), GSS has been sort of an
awakening, allowing me to see just how 'large' those tiny stories can
become. That by itself was worth the purchase.
The system itself is just gorgeous in its simplicity (probably because
it doesn't need to be bogged down in combat rules - 'cause, no
combat). And character creation takes mere minutes while still
allowing for broad choices and individuality. One Cat Henge will not
be like another Cat Henge.
So, if you have kids (or need to bring out that inner kid in
yourself), GSS is probably an RPG you want added to your collection.
And for you game-designers, it's definitely worth a look... 'cause it
takes a completely unique approach to gaming (I don't think I've ever
seen a game with zero combat). The hardcopy (a nicely bound book,
sort of like a manga) can be bought online - the sellers are very
personable. And the PDF is just as nice.
So pick it up... and prepare for cravings for fried tofu

Fishing the past from the disposal
Posted 11 years agoThere are few things more soul killing that looking through old commissions you've written before time immemorial XD I've been looking through old stories and my inner editor has constantly gone into Tourette's level outbursts of WTFness. Still, I think there's enough there to brush off and have some new fun with. Better to share them than let them rot in a drawer somewhere, I suppose
What does a scanner see... Clearly or darkly?
Posted 14 years agoIf you know the fragmented quote, then you can probably gather what my state of mind is like these days. Between work, chronic insomnia, life (a word I use loosely), play-testing Old Republic, and the November Novel Writing Contest (50K words in 30 days), I’m pretty sure there are only a few charred synapses still flickering inside my head. Still, there’s enough neurons left up there in the dark to be inspired by the work I discover here. Followed a lovely link (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6933813) and found myself spending half the night going through notes for an old novel.
But I suppose I shouldn’t be completely surprised. Inspiration seems to hit me in threes… random snippets of art or literature that come together in a matter of days to ignite a burning need to create. In this case, a Sith Inquisitor, Mika’s art, and Philp K. Dick’s In memoriam from A Scanner Darkly. Odd combo, sure, but it got me working, so who am I to question it? Will it transform into something, who knows. At the very least, I’m brushing away the dust to see what lies beneath.

My Favorite Elf Gets Her Own Video Game
Posted 14 years agoXanaphia (Xany to many) has become one of my favorite characters over the last couple of years for many reasons - being the cutest berry-elf ever notwithstanding. The creation of the ridiculously talented June Ruivivar and Frank Perrin, she now has her own video game. It's funny, quirky, and sometimes maddening (FREAKIN' Squirrels!!!). So, if you need a quick gaming fix, try it out:

And don't forget to visit Frank & June's web-comic while you're at it.

Back in the saddle
Posted 14 years agoBeen far too long since I actually posted something, so thought it was about time I changed that. I can thank
pixelhead777 for inspiring me to write in the genre again. And, indeed, had a boatload of fun doing so. Over the next week, I’ll be rummaging through my ancient writings and dusting them off… not to mention running them through a spell-checker. Hopefully, I can give a little back to you all… who have givien me more smiles than I can count.
Cheers,
