So after about an hour of searching around and $225 later, I now have a new tablet, which happens to be a Bamboo Pen/Touch.

I'm gonna miss the old one, though. It was smaller and portable, so it really served its purpose well.

However, I might have to open up commissions to cover the costs. No idea about that, though. =_=

... Are strange business.

I decide to steal a few hours of sleep by napping, and while doing so, I end up having another one of my strange dreams.

In this dream, I'm working with someone to solve a police case involving breast implant robbery. As soon as we list a name, this bucket near me tips over, begins pouring copious amounts of boiling hot water. It was as if though it had no capacity, continuing to pour forever.

I decide to grab the bucket and haul it into a small room and then lock the door. When I get out of there, there are several people standing on a bridge as water was pouring out of windows. They were talking about the same bucket thing happening to them, as if though trying to figure what the hell was going on.

Some dead silence later, there's a sudden loud bellowing. The sky begins twisting ino a distortion of metal blue and dark grey clouds, with a giant black cloudy orb in the middle of it, which cloud-like demons begin spawning out of, proceeding to snarf up people.

This is where I woke up.

I'm now 21!

I feel old. ;A;

Well, that was a good much-needed break. Got school stuff done with for a couple weeks and got health stuff in check (about time). So I should be able to get back on track and get the rest of stuff I need to do over with.

I'm also turning 21 in a few days (That would be 4th july). I feel old already. ;A;

Gonna be taking a break from IRC/the internet for a little while.

There's too much I'm dealing with in real life right now, and it's gotten to the point that I'm fluctuating between having control and not having control on my life. Coupled with the fact that my medications aren't helping what with the side effects and mood swings they put me through. It's only building up more and more stress than I can handle.

In order to actually get a grip on things, I need to pull myself away from any possible distractions for a short while. I do not know when will I be back. It may be a few days, maybe even a couple weeks - But it will be once I actually have control over my life without falling back in the same vicious battle of trying to keep things in check.

So last night I got a terrible case of food poisoning. I am much better now after being injected with something to stop me from throwing up.

No idea when I will be back. I am currently still rather weak to draw anything right now. Here's hoping it doesn't take long to recover.

Figured I'd post an update in case I disappear.

So I go outside a little while ago, wonder why it's so fucking hot and why it smells like burnt stuff.

Then I go check weather reports and then lo' and behold, 95 fucking F in the beginning of May accompanied with a lovely dust storm.

I'd hate to think what July will be like, considering that's our hottest month.

When did you start drawing?

This is tough to answer. I know my first attempts at drawing anything were back in 1st grade, when I'd draw a bunch of SNAKES AND OTHER STRANGE THINGS. Lots of cute animals were involved, too. I think I only started taking drawing seriously back in 2001-2002. I went through several style changes and several techniques before reaching where I'm at right now.

Which hand do you use for drawing?

RIGHT HAND. Always use my right hand for mostly everything. I've considered looking into attempting drawing with my left hand, though, mainly due to CONSTANT FEAR of severly crippling my hand, especially what with carpal tunnel and all. ;A;

Which is easier to draw - male or female?

Doesn't matter, really. I don't have problems drawing either as is. Though I will go through phases where I will end up drawing one gender more over the other.

Which is easier to draw - long hair or short hair?

Again, no preference really. I've had no problem drawing both, though I do always enjoy drawing longer hair more than shorter hair and add to tinkering with crazy styles, haha.

Is it easier to draw the head facing towards the right or the left?

No problem with either, ALTHOUGH I do have a bad habit of ALWAYS drawing characters facing to the left because that's what I'm used to doing. I should kick myself out of it. ;A;

Is it easier to draw the side view of the face or the front view?

Side view. Front views it usually depends, but with anthropomorphic animals it DRIVES ME CRAZY - especially when the character I'm drawing has a long snout. It always either comes out wonky or heavily anti-symmetrical. I'M TRYING, though, haha.

What do you have problems with in drawing?

Complex machinery, which I'm still practicing about with. Complex perspective angles (such as worm-eye views). Thicker builds are also a bit of a problem I'm trying to fix currently.

What do you like to draw?

Anything, for the most part! Most of the time I enjoy doing character designs/illustrations, simply because I love playing around with character designs and doing critical thinking when it comes to putting all the elements together.

Robots are also A FAVORITE. This is probably predictable, though. D|

Are you a traditional artist or a digital artist?

LITTLE BIT OF BOTH. I'm mostly a digital artist, because digital mediums are more convenient and easier for me to work with - and faster, too. Digital mediums also give me the capability of changing things around easily if I make a mistake, as opposed to re-drawing a million billion times. Less messier, too. I always HATE it when I get pencil residue on my hand. >8C

I still do traditional art from time to time, though not as much as I used to. The current state of my traditional art is HEAPS UPON HEAPS of sketches.

Where do you start drawing from?

Wherever seems more appropriate to me. Usually, though, I start with a line of action and then MAGIC HAPPENS.

What is your drawing habit that you are aware of?

This... Is kinda a hard question to answer, because I haven't scrutinized my own art enough to figure out a large multitude of habits, but the common ones I notice would be that I draw characters facing to the left a lot, and draw the same similar expression a lot of times (It's evident whenever I draw Stereo and her traditional mad scientist grin).

Any tips for coloring/shading?

Lots and lots of observation and logical thinking. Learn how light sources affect objects, how light bounces off these objects. Contrast is also very important.

AND NEVER EVER USE BLACK FOR SHADING. It makes colors extremely dull and lifeless. It's amazing how using a different color than black for shading will change the entire mood of the picture and give it more life. TRY IT.

How long does it take to finish a piece of art?

It depends on what I'm working on. For the most time I don't take longer than a few hours (about 3-5?) to finish something starting from sketch to final. I do have my moments where I'm heavily productive and complete a full character drawing within 5-15 minutes, but that's rare and usually depends if I enjoy the subject matter enough to do it in such a small time frame.

Bigger things that involve soft-shading and complex details (backgrounds and such) can usually take up to a few days to weeks to finish, depending on how complex it gets.

What music do you listen to while you draw?

THIS IS A TRICKY QUESTION.

Sometimes depends on what I'm drawing. Though, usually, I like to listen to UPBEAT MUSIC while drawing because it gives off a nice boost. Video game music, drum n' bass and happy hardcore is perfect for this.

With my playlist though, it's usually State of Mind's tracks or sound tracks from certain favorite games such as Alien Soldier and Rocket Knight. <3

How long does it take you to come up with an idea?

Depends on when MY BRAIN FEELS LIKE IT. Most of the time I just draw whatever comes to mind, or I doodle around roughly FOREVER until I get something I'm happy with. Other times, I will try to look at several things (pictures, art, books, etc) in an attempt to hammer off inspiration from them.

Your favorite drawing utensils?

My Bamboo Fun tablet. Despite it having such a small space, it does the job very well~

When I'm doing anything traditional, draft pencil combined with 0.5 mm mechanical pencil is my favorite.

Your favorite color/the color that you use a lot?

Taking a quick glance at my gallery, it seems to hover around between BLUE AND RED. Obviously, both are two of my favorite colors~

Your favorite style(s)?

I'm not sure how to interpert this one, but I tend to like anything that has a good composition and unique art style. Bonus points if things come with an intricate design or a really good sense of humor.

Really, this is entirely a broad spectrum and it varies from someone's taste to another.

Are you satisfied with your current art?

Satisfied with my current art isn't the proper term to use so much as I'm satisfied with my progress. There is no limit to improvement, and I continue aiming to keep improving and learn new things and such. :3

What kind of artist are you aiming for?

ANOTHER TRICKY QUESTION. Anything I could employ my skills in works well enough for me - Video game/film concept art, 3D modeling, etc etc. Way too MANY SKILLS on hand and never enough time to employ them. BAW.

... Though I've always wanted and still want to be a video-game concept artist. It would rock bunches, because I enjoy coming up with and designing all sorts of ideas. <3
