First 100 Watchers! And other news!
General | Posted 10 years agoFirst 100! Thanks for all the support guys, it means a lot. I've only gotten to talk to a few of you, but if you're not shy (and even if you are), feel free to comment and start a conversation with me. I'd like to get to know you guys better. I'm still deciding how we'll celebrate that, I was thinking another YCH raffle?? Maybe this time with multiple characters, so multiple people can win!
In other news, if anyone is interested in buying a painted nude pose from me, I'll be opening up the rest of the YCHs right after I finish this journal. I've priced the rest based on how much time and effort it took for me to do the first one, but even so, it'll still be a relatively low price (for art), since it's my first time really selling any of my art, and it's sort of introductory price. If it goes well, I'll get the male ones up soon too. If anyone has any suggestions on pricing, feel free to comment here or on the post later on.

Art trades and collaborations are still open, requests are not. I've burned off all my art trades, and now I'm looking to do some more! If anyone knows of any artist (including themselves) who wants to do a trade or a collab, let me know.
I'm hoping to get some scenery work done this month, I've been doing a lot of portraits, but I think I want to try scenery works. I've got one trade lined up with the astonishing PoeticWolfofWinterland, so I'll try to get that done soon and then we can test it. For now, I'll post a list of some scenes I have in mind. Now I don't have many characters, so I'll probably be doing filler characters... but if you want me to draw your characters on these, PM me and I'll give you the scene details and we'll talk about a fair tradeoff, hmm? :)

Art Trades and Requests
General | Posted 10 years agoWell, since I did end up getting a couple of people interested in art trades, I've decided to open them officially. This journal will list the art trades that I've currently agreed upon and working on (or waiting on the other half!) as well as the criteria of any requests I'll accept.
What I Draw
I prefer to draw science fiction or fantasy settings, rather than modern day, but of course that is always up for debate. My style tends toward semi-realism, but I'm also working on my own flavor of stylized toony, so you can request either. I can do a hard edged style or a softer, more diluted style depending on the mood of the piece that you want. I'm more comfortable drawing fur than scales, but am willing to do either. I like drawing scifi armor and mecha, though I could use more practice on the two!
It usually takes me 3-4 hours to draw a decent bust or portrait, and at least double that for full body. If you want a background, check back next year! I'm very slow with it. I think I will try to practice this more on my own projects rather than force my trades and requesters to wait. When drawing more than one character, expect at least double the time.
I prefer to draw natural colored characters rather than characters with whacky hairdos and neon colorings, but if that's your character, hey, you do you!
My hard limit is pornography. I am not planning on drawing pornographic imagery any time soon, and will turn down pornographic requests. You can try to make a case for 'tasteful' nudity, but well, if it involves sex and fetishes, it's not happening. Clothed pinups are fine though.

At the moment I am now CLOSED[/color] to requests until further notice. Art Trades will be given priority over requests, so expect a lead time. EDIT: Instead of allowing for free for all requests, I've decided that I'll limit free art to ych art, so I can better control the subject matter/poses and it'll allow me to control when I'm ready to do them. Let me know if you're interested in that?

I'm about to have a week off work (whooo!) for National Holiday, I'll have time to draw lots then!

General | Posted 10 years agoWow, just wanted to say thank you to everyone who's favorited my work and watched me so far! I'm extremely new here, still figuring out things. If anyone wants to give me a few pointers or recommend some favorite artists (or themselves!) I'd be down for some friendly conversation.
Like what I assume is everyone on this site, I enjoy the aesthetic of anthromorphic characters and interesting original creature designs! More specifically, my interests lean toward sci-fi/fantasy rather than slice of life. Personally, I love creating story characters for roleplay or story purposes (though pretty sure I'll never publish anything, its for my own enjoyment!). My eventual dream is to find some talented writers who are also into roleplay and to maybe mod a roleplay a scifi or steampunky collection of plotlines.
My personal art style is more painted, rather than clean linearts and cel shading, but I absolutely love the clean vividness of that particular style and wish I could emulate it! Lineart is my forever enemy.
