Meaning of a name.
General | Posted 13 years agoNoted from
dracowardragon and
Tanor_Faux. Mine is surprisingly spot on after the first paragraph. I had used "Ragora".
You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.
You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.
You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.
You are deeply philosophical and thoughtful. You tend to analyze every aspect of your life.
You are intuitive, brilliant, and quite introverted. You value your time alone.
Often times, you are grumpy with other people. You don't appreciate them trying to interfere in your affairs.
You are well rounded, with a complete perspective on life.
You are solid and dependable. You are loyal, and people can count on you.
At times, you can be a bit too serious. You tend to put too much pressure on yourself.

3. Tell you my first memory of you
4. Ask you a question
5. Tell you something I like about you

8. Dare you to do this yourself in your journal

Experimental MUCK written in Python.
General | Posted 13 years agoSo I've been bored to hell quite lately and have noticed that pretty much any MUCK software is either outdated as ever, broken, has some weird style of inserting user input into the system or has a really dumb way of managing some sort of database .. and I've seen a few that were combination of all of these.
What I've decided to do was attempt to write my own functional MUCK server software that will be portable to both Windows and Linux based operating systems and implements some more modern approaches to things like database management, etc.
So far, over the past two bug-ridden days, it's been fun coding the server software and testing it with some friends of mine and have decided to let any interested parties (that may ever read this) that likes to try and break software know they are encouraged to send me a note containing what username/password they want (the password can be changed in-MUCK once logged in) and that I will send them back the confirmation and instructions+details on the server software.
The server is running on developmental code and should be considered unstable by all means and is currently accessible by pointing a MUCK client (or vanilla Telnet but isn't recommended) to dx.no-ip.org port 23.

The process of my mind.

The programmers should understand this.

General | Posted 13 years agoI was rather annoyed with two Debian Linux distributions recently (Ubuntu 12.04LTS and openSUSE 12.1 -- if I remember right).
The virtual work spaces (I believe are a part of the Unity interface) -- which I heavily use in my work were improperly functioning after an ages long upgrade from 11.10 to 12.04LTS. They were completely unusable at first from the normal key bind to shift work spaces (CTRL+ALT+ARROW DIRECTION for me), all the work spaces were highlighted, therefore making it impossible for me to know which one was selected. With some fiddling, I managed to fix that issue and then came the issue of Windows having a tendancy to float away into other work spaces temporarily (relative to the direction your were shifting). They did however permanently stay on a few occasions.
Atop all that, the 12.04 did not seem to be nearly as fast as 11.04 or 11.10 in terms of application performance. (Several WINE applications of mine took noticeably longer to execute than on 11.10 and a UNetbootin bootable flashdrive being prepared for openSUSE took an entire night (about 5 or 6 hours) to setup (for extracting files to the flashdrive) for a USB 2.0 flashdrive.
Over this I decided to try openSUSE, which did not install my graphics driver automatically like Ubuntu did (which means some applications of mine did not run, even ones under WINE). It turns out NVidia did not provide kernel sources for my graphics card for openSUSE which was enough for me to just screw it all and reinstall Ubuntu 11.04 and never upgrade again.
So point being, openSUSE and Ubuntu 12.04LTS should be avoided for the time being. (caused absolute hellion for me)
-- This was merely a rage entry, and may actually contain inaccurate information as I'm still rather new to the Linux area.

My FADragons Entry form.
General | Posted 13 years agohttp://www.furaffinity.net/user/fadragons
My dragon's name is actually "Ragora", not like my acc name is. "Ragora" was already taken sometime ago.
1. Species: Western Anthropomorphic dragon.
2. Color: Cherry Red.
3. Wings: Somewhat large, tipped with a sort of claw. (Hard to explain in text.)
4. Abilities: Aerial acrobatics, paw cleaning services. Cute anywhere else. Has a magical amulet that can warp reality.
5. Where are you from: Modern Day United States.
6. Do you play Istaria: No.
7. Your favorite dragon artist: Any. Nothing preferable.
8. What do you want to see in this group: Preferably dragon paw art, but anything else artistic is quite nice.
Just felt like putting this here.
