Example: potential commissioer wanted to see how i animate transformation animation for profile picture...i did have one in my possession but i had no right to share with it, so i spent few hours to draw an example for customer...and well they never came back to me so i just wasted my time. (which i could spend more efficiently)

it means i will deliver less monthly content for my patrons if i will be working mostly on private art

i can't stream private art which leaves me again spend less time gathering audience

i also basically partially surrender my rights on the art piece since i loose the all abilities to passively benefit from it (use for advertise/portfolio/print it for conventions)

Last year i joined art fight event literally few days before deadline and physically was able to do only one attack and i also screwed by attacking my teammate instead of opposite team XD it was still fun though!

So this year i was very excited to join artfight from the very beginning and take a full participation in this event. I was planning to do at least 3 art attacks. I bookmarked so many random artist's OCs in preparation.

The reasons artfight is cool:
- you just get to pick whoever you feel to draw and just come up with full artistic freedom (p.s. freedom is limited by artfight policy and OC owner's permissions ofc)
- you get to surprise OC's owner with some good stuff with no warnings which is fun!
- i don't feel like by drawing someone's OC i make the owner feel like they owe me something in return

Results:
I got to draw only 1 art instead of desired 3...
My drama shit happened literally IN THE BEGINNING OF THE EVENT and instead of enjoying and having fun i was mentally and physically exhausted.
And desire to meet at least some of my own expectations mixed with anxiety to not get it done before event ends...just pushed me deeper into shit hole instead of being a nice experience.
Well at least i don't feel much guilt for contributing only one art for this event ...it is still more attacks i've done than received this year XD


Conclusion:
I will give it a try again in 2026. Hopefully no drama shit will be on my way holding back my mighty inspiration haha
And i will try my best to attack at least 3 different members of opposite team.
I would be hypocrite if i would say "i am not disappointed at all about not being attacked for 2 years in a row" - this thing bothers me. Makes me think like "are my characters design suck? or maybe i just not lucky enough"

Next year I will see if i feel like i am giving to this event more rather than receiving > i will delete my account there and will be drawing for people i care and when i have a random urge to do so without using "artfight" as excuse to do some good stuff. Just be aware: if i just randomly throw art at you without any warnings - i will be just happy to hear "thanks" and nothing else in return. I don't want to look like i am transactional person who does something only for one way benefit.

Hey Guys i don't like to complain and bring up negative stuff in public, but what is going rn in my life is going to affect my work so i think it is only fair to at least warn you about it.

1) my mental state went to shit. The person/event which triggered it is still present in my life at the moment. I will be able to segregate in 2 months from now. So i have nothing left but endure it. I have people around to support me, so I am not alone to fight it. I already got some medication to help me out while i am in the minefield. Once i will be free of it i will quit medication and (if i won't feel better once trigger is removed) i will apply for therapist help.

2) In my case (and many other artists as i noticed) mental state really affects art capability. So i already have done everything to keep myself floating for now. I will put all my remaining stamina into art. Unfortunately it means i will become less social. More likely i will be not in condition to keep conversations with most of my friends, commissioners and watchers via comments/social media or sound very brief. I don't want you to feel like i am ghosting you or don't care about your amazing support and kind words about my art.

3) This is not an attempt to bait for donations or commissions but i will appreciate your patience

It helped me realize there are many types of TF from kinky(contextual) and technical points of view!

From kink point of view i am pretty sure there're many many more subcategories and flavors of TF (which i honestly struggle to determine on my own since i don't personally have this kink and not being part of TF community so please excuse me for further rough generalization)

Personally for myself i would split TF into 3 categories depending on personal feeling of artistic(technical) difficulty:

1) Minor difficulty:

gender swap, bimbofication, muscle growth, getting hyper fat, size TF etc.

-I would consider to do so free of extra charge
-Also I would have nothing to do with OC's design copyright (only copyright to artwork itself belongs to me)

2) Average difficulty:

A) TF into generic creature (pokemon, cow, dragon, human,) barely recognizable from original design fully on artistic freedom conditions (no edits no WIPs will be given once rough sketch with poses will be accepted)
At max can be requested only few basic details such as keeping few features from original OC's design: horns/ genitals / color palette
Each edit: min 5 euro

-No claims for design copyrights from my side as well
-I will possess copyrights only for image itself

B) TF OC into already existing OC/design [free of charge]

-No claims for design copyrights from my side as well
-I will possess copyrights only for image itself

3) Major difficulty:
TF into new non-existant design with detailed description/edits for final TF form

-Final TF form will be 40-60 euro extra charge
-All previous TF stages free of extra charge
-I am not sure if i legally can possess copyright on "new" OC design but i clearly wouldn't want this particular design to be used for commercial purposes at all.
- i will still possess copyrights on image itself though


P.S. It is totally fine if you will find someone with better pricing/easier charging system. Personally i am just trying to balance between fair prices and burn out caused with feeling of making double load of work for initial pricing.

Let's take an Anthro wolf character for example. Let's name him Tony for shot cut.
Tony has reference sheet where he is pictured as the anthro wolf.

Scenario A:
Tony's owner is commissioning an artist to redesign Tony into feral dragon.

Scenario B:
Tony's owner is commissioning an artist to transform Tony into feral dragon (just single full body pic with TF result, no stages)

So question:
Is there a difference between redesign and transformation from technical point of view? (kink wise i understand the difference)
If there's a difference where would you put a boarder line? Or what's criteria it should follow to be considered transformation comparing with redesign?

So guys, i started to do my Pal fanart challenge and rn I am stuck with Fuak. I don't generally like the design of this pal. But i like how it's name has the same vibes with Farquaad. Actually i don't hate the concept of raffles itself. Everything seems fair for me: artists are getting promotion, and people, who enjoying their art have a chance to get it for minimum effort - in theory sounds great.
BUT
What made me stop to do raffles in 2019 - Raffle miners
I was too new in art industry to know how these people are working.
I did draw few arts for such winners. And...i felt myself tricked...people who PAYING to get art from me were more fucking thankful and respectful than them.
And the worst part: raffles and lotteries tend to attract mostly such type of people instead of someone who really would care about your art style or have at least basic respect for your effort.

And finally in the end of 2023 i realize why do I want to do raffles.
Do I want to get more watchers? - of course I do! But for this I am ready to pay for advertise which is much cheaper and efficient.
So what's the reason? - I just feel good to make someone happy and interact with all of you guys. I tried to make discord server...but i am too low in social stamina to keep track on it and participate there. ;w;

the current X-mas RAFFLE rules aren't perfect, I know, but i will try to work on it by making conclusions after gained experience.
