Rotterdam or Maastricht?
General | Posted 6 years agoWe are getting very close to the host city decision. The three Dutch host broadcasters have narrowed their list down to Rotterdam and Maastricht. The two cities have now been given Friday as a deadline to deliver some final updates to their bid books before one of them is chosen.
On the surface Rotterdam may seem like the runaway winner, with the superior venue and hotel capacity. Maastricht has proven to be a far tougher competition than anyone anticipated with their enthusiasm, extensive plans for city wide events and strong financial support.
Who will be the host city of Eurovision 2020? We will most likely find out next week.

Congratulations The Netherlands!
General | Posted 6 years agoLast Saturday The Netherlands won the 64th Eurovision Song Contest with Duncan Laurence and the song Arcade. While this may be their fifth win, The Netherlands last won in 1975 making it 44 years since they last claimed the trophy.
The race to host the event is now on in The Netherlands, with seemingly all of the country launching bids to host. Some already began several weeks prior to Duncan even arriving in Tel Aviv.
While Arcade might have won overall, it was in fact neither the jury nor televote winner. The juries favored Jon Lundgren from Sweden, while the public preferred KEiiNO from Norway.
It was also a welcome return to the final for several nations. North Macedonia qualified for the first time since 2012 and got their best result ever at 8th place. San Marino, Switzerland and Iceland made it for the first time since 2014. San Marino also managed their best ever result, coming 20th.

We have all the songs!
General | Posted 7 years agoAfter three months we finally have all 41 songs for Eurovision 2019!
After a slow start it's been a proper avalanche these past few days as all the remaining countries rushed out their songs before today's deadline.
It's time to finalize your top lists, guess the running order, bet on who qualifies and wonder if Macedonia will finally have good staging this year.
We highly recommend the My Eurovision Scoreboard app to easily keep track of which songs you like, and which you'd rather not have making it to the grand final.

Dare to dream!
General | Posted 7 years agoThe 2019 season is upon us!
Tel Aviv has been chosen as the host city, Dare to dream is the slogan, and numerous national finals are rapidly approaching. In Sweden several names have been leaked prior to the november 27th reveal.
Estonia and Albania have both revealed their competitors already, with Estonia releasing the songs on December 1st.
In San Marino the 1in360 format has been rejected. What, if anything, will take it's place is unknown. 1in360 has in response approached other nations, including Montenegro with their concept.
Romania is giving it's Melodifestivalen like tour concept another go, but in a smaller version.
Malta, Georgia, Israel, and to an extend Spain, are all hosting X-factor like shows to find an artist to represent them, while Switzerland will have it's first internal selection in a long time.
Which national final are you most excited about? How many do you plan to follow?

Gearing up for the high season
General | Posted 8 years agoThe first artists have been known for a while, the first song since December 23rd. More and more countries release lineups, snippets and full songs.
It's beginning to look a lot like Eurovision.
The eurovision gears are gaining momentum all over Europe. France is just a few days away from choosing their song, and several other selection shows are well on their way. The high season is just a couple weekends away with multiple shows every weekend.
For a lot of fans the first heat of the Swedish Melodifestivalen, arguably the most anticipated selection show every year, is the start of the proper Eurovision season.
The only country to choose a song so far is Albania, who through their traditional Festival Kenges chose the song Mall for Lisbon. A popular choice by the jury, both among fans and Albanians. Many predict a triumphant return to the final for the nation.
On Saturday France will choose their entry in the final of their Destination Eurovision. The return of a French national final has been warmly welcomed by fans, and there is a wide consensus that it's a strong national final that will probably lead to a good score for France.
What do you think of the Albanian entry? And who should France chose to achieve the best possible score? Comment below, or join our telegram chat @ escfurs and discuss it there.

Which furry musicians would you want in Eurovision?
General | Posted 8 years agoThe furry community has alot of talented musicians in it. All the way from indie and folk, to hardstyle and edm, furries are probably represented in every genre.
So far the closest we've come to furries in Eurovision is this year's Italian dancing gorilla and Irlands Dustin the Turkey in 2008.
Isn't it time for furries to take the step and represent our fandom in the biggest music show in the world?

Eurovision Kiev 2017: The Conclusion
General | Posted 8 years agoAnother season of Europe's favorite TV event has come to an end. 26 different acts shined on stage, doing their very best to earn the favor of the televoters.
With the exception of a few sour notes here and there, the competition went by flawlessly. And apart from one incident during the interval acts, so did the rest of the show.
When the jury votes came in it became clear that Portugal was to be strong contender, picking up 12 after 12. The pre-contest favorite Italy failed to impress, and it was clear the battle would be between Portugal and Bulgaria when the televotes were added.
As it turned out, Portugal won the televote as well, thus winning the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest by a landslide.
With both juries and televoters having the same winner, no none can call Salavdor Sobral's magnificent victory undeserved. He caught the hearts of both jurors and TV viewers across the continent with his understated, quiet little ballad about love.
Prior to the contest we asked for people to give us their predictions. All 5 who answered had Portugal as a favorite, with Italy and Belgium also sailing high.
Shortly before the Grand Final we asked our followers and chatters to predict again. Once more Portugal was the most prominent song with Italy and Bulgaria following close. Belgium had also climbed into several top lists.
At the opposite side of the prediction scoreboard we found Spain on all lists, and Germany on most.
The overall result matches fairly well with the predictions made by the furry Eurovision fans who've found this little page.
We hope you're all excited for Lisbon 2018 and hope you'll want to keep following Eurovision with us!

The Grand Final is tonight!
General | Posted 8 years agoIt's finally here, the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final. 26 acts are ready to sing for you, and hopefully earn your support in the televote.
The big favourites are Bulgaria and Portugal, with Italy slipping from it's spot as certain winner. Neither Bulgaria nor Portugal has won the competing before, which means we might get our first new winning country since Azerbaijan in 2011.
In the other end of the scale Germany and Spain are expected to fight for the last place, with Spain being the clear favorite to score the 26th place.
2017 has been a troublesome year for Eurovision with several hiccups along the line.
In the end it all came together, but I'm sure once tonight is over Jon Ola Sand and the rest of the team will breathe out in relief and hope for a simpler event next year.
How do you think the night will end? Please post your top three and your bottom three below.

Was your favorite entry really that good? Did that country maybe deserve to qualify after all?
In Ukraine the focus now is on where to host. Kiev, Dnipro and Odessa are the remaining cities in the race to host. Previous favorite Lviv failed to live up to the expectations of the organizing comitee.

General | Posted 9 years agoEurovision has come and gone for this year and ESCfurs are finally back up and running after a week in Stockholm and the following FA problems.
As expected SVT provided us with a great show. Good hosts, good writing and great interval acts led us safely through all 42 competing songs. The new voting system kept tensions high to the very end, but did spark some debate as it was later revealed Australia would have won if the old system had still been in place. In Russia there's has also been a lot of commotion over them winning the televote, but only finishing 3rd. Their anger is probably fueld by the political situation between them and our winner, Ukraine.
Ukraine won the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song 1944 by Jamala. The song tells the story of her grandmother and the rest of the Crimean Tartars deportation from Crimea in 1944 and has been criticized for really being a coment on today's situation.
Nevertheless, Europe was touched by Jamalas personal entry and impressive vocals and voted her to victory.
The plans for hosting next year's contest is already in planning with the 2005 host city Kiev, and Lviv being the frontrunners as host cities.

The big favorites this year are Russia and France, with Bulgaria, Malta and Sweden close by. Sweden is all set to win on home ground, but is Frans strong enough to accomplish that? Russia is betting there money on a strong pop song with fancy choreography, but might be end up to much like last years Heroes. France is betting on charm and a strong song but seems to be coming up short when it comes to stage performance.
Without a really big favorite we seem set for an exciting week filled with surprises and tension.
Have a great ESC week, and may the best song win!
