Taking 20 hours of commission slots!
Posted a year agoBeen rotating the spaces I do my commission opening announcements.
Looking to book 10-20 more hours for the month.
Reach out to me here or on Discord/Telegram.
Please expect a long turnaround!
Also as a heads up, next year I will be raising my prices to $40/hour! I haven't changed prices since I started using the hourly model about late 2022. Commissions will be charged in $20 increments, and the overflow time I give myself to finish will also remain in place. This pricing will not go into effect until 2025.
As a reminder, while I post ychs here, I have been trying to do most of my uploads on Itaku. I have a year+ long backlog to work through though. ^^;

I also post work as they get finished onto my Telegram and Discord chats. I am most active in my IM groups!

Emergency Vet Bill Commissions
Posted 2 years agoJust letting everyone know that my waitlist is currently accelerated. If you're interested in getting a commission slot from me in the next week or two, please contact me!
I have some very expensive vet bills I need to pay off (an excess of $5k), plus a pet memorial commission (also quite expensive) and I have been going through my current waitlist on Trello this past week trying to stack up the funds needed for these things, as well as getting funds together for bills this next month. Please, if you're interested in a commission slot, give me a poke on Telegram or on Discord so I can add you to that list. I'll be doing my best to get all these emergency commissions done within the next 3 months, as I've looked at my current hours booked and should be able to get about 120-180 hours of work done per 30 days. I still have a few people on the waitlist I will be contacting in the coming days. Anyone who has already paid for a commission before this, be it a large project or owed substar work or otherwise, will still get their work done first/in order as fast as possible.
I don't really have anything deep or meaningful to say about my lost cat. I'm still struggling and the past week was really rough trying to arrange his memorial plans with a taxidermist. I'm just trying to focus on getting the finances sorted, since I can actually do something about that instead of just aching and grieving.

2.7 Nonsense - Itaku & where to find me
Posted 2 years agoI'm not particularly keen on the direction this website is taking, for reasons that lots of other artists have articulated way better than I can. I am exceptionally displeased with the response from FA staff here, on twitter, and in their Discord server.
Unfortunately, I'm in a tight spot as someone who relies on my platform here for income, I can't readily just pack up and leave. Especially since a majority of my audience is here.
Aside from FA, my most active 'gallery' is my Discord server and other communities I spend a lot of time in. I've been posting a lot to Telegram as well since I made the new channel.
I'm not a fond fan of twitter, I struggle to keep up with the fast pace of the interactions there. As it is I'm a semi-frequent lurker to keep an ear to the community and what's being talked about, but that's about it. I am heavily considering moving a lot of my content over there in the coming weeks to expand beyond FA and the slippery slope they're sliding down. I also am not particularly keen on the community that is curated on InkBunny, even if they have a functional blacklist and are only 18+. I sure know a lot of other artists who feel the same way.
I'd honestly really love to move entirely to Itaku, their policies are sane, and their interface is robust for most needs in the community.... but the userbase there is incredibly small. Lack of engagement and audience has kinda left me not posting there nearly as much as I'd like, and a lot of other artists are simply using it as backup these days.
So that begs the question for everyone else, not just us artists: What would it take for you to move websites? Where would you prefer to go?

Posted 2 years agoMade myself a channel on Tele to dump my art, it has a chat group attached as well!
Join here! https://t.me/EssynkardiArts
Like my Discord server, being here grants early access to arts and WIPs as they're finished, usually several months before they're posted to FA. I will also be making announcements here at the same time as my Discord group, which usually precede FA announcements by a couple of hours.
I will still be predominantly active on Discord for most communications, however I wanted to extend the option to folks who prefer Tele as a platform.

Mass upload or daily posts?
Posted 2 years agoI have... an enormous backlog of both finished commissions and personal work/doodles that I've been SLOWLY uploading here one by one when I remember to do so.
But I wonder, would you guys prefer I just do a mass upload of the approx ~40-50 pieces I have in my backlog, or keep uploading about one piece a day/every other day until I get through everything?

[edit] Roomate located!
Posted 3 years agoLooking for someone to move in to help with rent, would be approx $750/mo. Ideally would prefer a roommate who intends on staying for more than a few months.
Please note me for more information.
Kinda stressed out by this, my previous roommate has just left on very short notice (less than 48 hours).
Ideally someone okay with cats and weed and the fact that I will be drawing furry porn in the living room.... @.@ I'm trying and hoping to find a furry roommate here on FA/in the community before I resort to local things like posting on Craigslist...

Commission Opening!
Posted 3 years agoIt's time!
Am finally moving on to wholly hourly work! With a shiny new commission info sheet to match!
For the time being I will be taking 10/hrs a week for slots, as I work on some larger projects in the background. As such, for the next few weeks of openings I will be favoring shorter commission times in the range of 2-5 hours.
*Please message me in addition to submitting a form if you would like to reserve more than 10 hours!*
It is unlikely I will take on any large projects until 2023
Public Commissions Form can be found here!

Psst guys, am setting up an itaku profile! I'll be trying to post a lot of art there that I may have not shared before and would like to curate the website as an alternative to my FA and discord server. I'll still be posting to FA, but I've been eyeballing this gallery site for a while now, it seems to have a lot of really good functionality, it's just missing a userbase. x3
Regular public commission openings will also be starting soon! I have just a few more things to clear off my queue from last year, mostly sketches. Keep an eye out for that! You can see my new trello below as well.

A Life Update
Posted 3 years agoWait! Where has Essy been??
> If it weren't already obvious, this year has kinda been a bit of a shitfest as far as productivity goes. I've been clawing at a queue that's been sitting around since October of last year that, if I'm honest with myself, should have been finished in April after I sorted out the issues with my computer. Of course, that wasn't the whole picture, though at the time I hadn't realized just how badly my mental heath was being impacted by my now ex-partner that I was living with. While I was trying my best to work though things, I repeatedly found myself stalling and creatively burning out within a few days of starting to work on my queue again. This is the *major reason* I've been so absent from public spaces and struggling with working consistently at things. I've been lucky that I've had the finances to support myself this year, but I cannot afford to lean on those savings for any longer.
> The good thing about all of this is: it's over now! Without going into too much detail, a few months ago things between me and my ex kind of came to a head. They had repeatedly missed their portion of rent throughout the year and lost multiple jobs over the course of the past few years. In March they had lost their job again and found a new one at the start of May. Money issues combined with pre-existing relationship issues and their new job were the prefect storm for them to begin cheating and was the groundwork for me needing to get them out of my life.
> It's been a few months since things ended, and I've had a wonderful vacation with
Taluthus down in Australia for a full month (more on that below~). I just got back home a few days ago. After the past few years of chaos and the mounting tensions with my ex for the first half of this year, this vacation was *badly* needed. I have a new resolve to get my work and personal life sorted out.
> The bad news is: As of right now I have been left to pay bills in excess of $2400/mo almost entirely on my own. Obviously, this isn't sustainable with my current workflow and prices. I desperately need to find a new roommate, but my house is currently in no condition for someone new to live here, and I will need to spend the next month or more simply cleaning and reorganizing. (So uh, if anyone is looking for a roommate in Denver, CO in the next few months and don't mind a house with 6 cats, please hmu... >.<)
And the important stuff here!
> I need to clear out owed work.I have been doing my best to keep track of all commissions that have already been paid for, but some folks may have slipped through the cracks of disorganization. Please message me if you have paid for a commission in the past year and haven't heard from me!
> From there, my pricing system will be changing to an hourly rate of $30usd/hr. This should hopefully be less complicated for both commissioners and myself than multiple quality tiers and commission types and extra additional charges for alts on images or other add-ons. This of course means my fully rendered pieces will be jumping in price somewhat significantly, as I usually spend 8-12 hours or more on those. This change is almost entirely due to being left as the sole rent payer of my apartment. Without doing this, my work would be impossible to do without consistently being several hundred $$ behind on bills.
> As soon as I'm done with my existing queue of owed work, I will be opening commissions using this new model. I have a few folks I am currently trialing this payment method with, and some adjustments may be made before public commission openings are made, so keep an eye out for that! I will also be rewriting my TOS (it's been a few years since the first draft) and making a new commission form and trello board, which will come with their own announcement as soon as they are done.
> Thank you guys so much for your support and patience this year! I'm really looking forwards to finishing up my owed stuff and starting work on some personal projects with friends, which I am very eager to share with you all! Here's to hoping I can finish 2022 much stronger than it started!
Derg rambling about his trip to Australia below
> So, I've been dating
Taluthus for almost 2 years now, and we were able to meet each other in person for the first time at the start of this year! He flew over to America for a while in March, and then in August I was able to fly to Australia and live with him for a full month! It was probably one of the best times of my life, we went out to do a whole bunch of stuff and it was really nice to not worry about anything back at home for a few weeks. I got to meet a lot of people in his real life and also got to meet up with a friend for a few days, too. The trip was originally supposed to only last 3 weeks, but we ended up extending it another 2 weeks, as my flights back home needed to be rescheduled midway through. This was more than fine with both of us of course, as I had already been considering extending my stay. That meant I had a week to myself as well, and I took that opportunity to get some work done!
> Of note, while I was down there Tal took me on a drive through the country and a few local small towns near his place, as well as to go pet kangaroos and koalas, I was able to walk to the beach and did that a few times, we did some laser tag and even went bowling with his family. The kangaroos were adorable and delightful and I got to feed a whole bunch of them. I was so enthralled by the critters I insisted we go back to the reserve on the last day so I could pet them again. It was kinda funny because I was so delighted by them and Tal stood by watching, being wholly disillusioned with the roos. I also went to a tree-climb obstacle course with Tal and my friend Kali as well! Tal was able to power through a lot of that and Kali and I were left kind of struggling. It was super physically intensive but a LOT of fun. While Tal was out on his work week towards the last half of the trip, I was even able to go to a fresh seafood restaurant with his parents and try some really delicious fish I'd never had before! I also got plenty of opportunity to eat lots of fresh oysters that were huge. (Tal hates seafood, so I was left to go on all my fresh seafood adventures alone, lol.) We even managed to squeeze in an overnight camping trip at a nearby nature reservation on one of the last days. It was super nice to go on a hike as the sun went down and then snuggle up in the tent for the night. Even if the night of sleeping itself wasn't the best... x3
> The best part for me though, was driving into the outback and going to an opal mining town called Andamooka. We went and spent a few hours looking through mine tailings and finding little bits of raw opal! Which doesn't sound like much, but we found some super pretty rocks that I brought home with me. We also got to meet up with one of the people who lives in town and she gave us a tour of the town and told us about the history of the place and a lot of information about how opal forms as well as different kinds of opal. It ended up being a super pleasant and friendly afternoon, and I got to learn a lot about my favorite gemstone. I also got to meet a really cool stonemason artist who had carved and assembled an entire tiger out of sandstone! It was especially special because it was close to Tal's work, and he hates it out there, yet he still drove me out to his desert workplace so I could go digging through rocks. I desperately want to go back there again and spend a whole day looking for opals.
> It was really nice being able to get out and do something nearly every day and experience what its like to live in another country, even one that on the surface still feels a lot like home. There were sushi restaurants all over the place, and had a much wider variety of types available than I was used to seeing in Colorado. The most striking thing to me was that it was actually a bit harder for me to cook for myself, since I wasn't as familiar with the grocery stores there and things I took for granted in Colorado were a LOT harder to find (like coffee creamer... and corn tortillas. And deli turkey.) I also got to try some kangaroo meat as well! It was super tasty, and I definitely like it better than steak.... it's a shame I can't get it here in America for as cheap as I can find it in Australian supermarkets.
> Now that I'm home I find myself missing it and Tal a lot than I expected. I know for sure I'm going to be making plans to go back as soon as I can, probably for a longer stay this time, too. There's a lot I still didn't quite get to experience and I just genuinely enjoyed being around and living with him.

Posted 3 years agoupdate: burnout + computer broke :[
Posted 4 years agoso i've been a bit quiet now, that's for a few reasons. one is social and artistic burnout, which seems to be a cyclical thing for me anyways and was a bit inevitable. these past few months in particular i have been mostly secluding myself to close friends and sleeping a lot. the other is at the start of november I helped move a friend out of their abusive situation and have been settling them into life in the city, as well as adjusting to the new house situation myself. thirdly, my father's estate stuff got settled and i finally had the ability to relax financially for a short while, as well as my partner getting a much more reliable job. this means i am able to ease up on how much i need to work in order to survive. of course, i still need to work a little!
i was getting started on my queue last week, as well as working on a revamped reference sheet for myself, some gifts/trades/collabs, and a live2d avatar for streaming as i eased myself back into work mode.
well. as of sunday my work computer is essentially nonfunctional. i have spent the past two days attempting to figure out what went wrong, and more and more information is pointing towards hardware failure, namely my SSD. I have a few friends already helping me with the situation, but there is a good chance my work from the past 7 months is gone im currently looking into data recovery options (as of today i have sent my storage device off to some recovery specialists) and am sending my PC back to the builders for them to take a look at it.
if you have or were waiting on a completed commission from me and i havent contacted you already with a WIP, you are free to request a refund, otherwise my queue will be put on hold until i figure out my PC situation. anyone who i have sent WIPS to, I will be focusing the majority of my energy re-doing and working with what i had sent to the best of my ability on my laptop.
I'm not sure when i will get my normal computer back, and i will do my best to keep everyone updated.
i was getting started on my queue last week, as well as working on a revamped reference sheet for myself, some gifts/trades/collabs, and a live2d avatar for streaming as i eased myself back into work mode.

So, for the past approximate year since launch, this Substar has more or less functioned as a glorified monthly tip jar with perks thrown in when I remember to do something about it.
I've really only been doing this job full time since last year and there's a LOT I'm learning, and as such, you're probably gonna see the ground shake a lot while I shuffle stuff around and figure out what works best for me and my clients.
Your best bet for getting your moneys worth from this is the exclusive commission types and commission slots reserved specifically for subscribers each month.
I'll be doing subscriber commissions every Friday night or on the weekends every week for private streams - the last Friday/weekend of any given month will be set aside for sketch requests for those of you in the $25 tier and above.
I will be phasing the $15 tier out in favor of a cheaper $10 with most of the same perks, however the Discord vanity role will be moved to the $25 tier. Timelapses will also remain on hold until I get my new computer in a few weeks, as my current computer cannot reasonably handle recording without significant lag between strokes.
There will now be weekly WIP-aggregation posts of my current commissioned projects; finished commissioned works will be posted to substar the day that they are finished! These will all be behind the Tier 0/Tip Subscription option. Please note that most of these posts will also be available in my Discord if you want to see them for free!
Substar will also be where I do a lot of experimentation, and I plan on offering exclusive art styles and commission types here you will not see offered to the public.
And about the private streams---
Predominantly I use my Discord server for announcements, including the private streams and any subscriber communication. This is effectively the sole reason this profile has not seen any upkeep. As I start adding substar to my focus, I'll be posting here more often and private streams will be announced here as well as in my Discord server!

I've really only been doing this job full time since last year and there's a LOT I'm learning, and as such, you're probably gonna see the ground shake a lot while I shuffle stuff around and figure out what works best for me and my clients.
First and foremost!
Substar will never function as a source of extra work for me. There will be no guaranteed rewards or additional content that come each month like subscriber sketches or exclusive YCHs that is not part of my current publicly posted or planned workload.Your best bet for getting your moneys worth from this is the exclusive commission types and commission slots reserved specifically for subscribers each month.

May Commissions
Posted 4 years agoit is TIME. I have 10 slots for May commissions! This time around instead of DMing me directly though, I'm gonna direct you all towards THIS!
https://form.jotform.com/211131329110032
This should make collecting commission info easier for me and keep it all in one place. ^^ These will mostly be first come-first serve, as I don't expect to fill up entirely by the end of the day. If for some reason I end up with more than 10 commission submissions by the end of the day, I'll be picking according to interest. Have fun friends!!
As always, please take a look over my TOS as well! https://trello.com/c/qup2lt4K/1-read-me-first-tos

February Sketch Commissions!
Posted 5 years agoMy commissions open first on my Discord!
Any remaining slots go to FA. Keep this in mind. For February I'm gonna try something a little different, with an emphasis on the colored sketches I offered to my Discord members. I have a few big projects leftover from January that I need to focus on for this month, so I'll be keeping my regular commission slots limited.
Instead, I will be open for sketch commissions at $25-$30 each ($40 for colored sketches). These can be compiled into a sketchpage format or sequence too if you desire! I'll be taking effectively unlimited slots and sending out invoices at the end of each day with finished sketches. These will be capped at about an hour of work per sketch and turn out similar to a lot of warmups and personal doodles I've been doing recently. (I'll be posting these to FA throughout tonight!)
Please fill out the form and comment below if you'd be interested in a sketch! You can also send me a note. These will have a much faster turnover compared to my other work. There will be no drafts or edits, so unless you want me to have some artistic liberties, please be specific!
If you want multiple sketches, please fill out the form multiple times so I can keep track of them easier.
Username/Contact Method: Let me know if your preferred method of contact is something other than FA
Colored? y/n?: Colored sketches cost extra
Character References: I'm very flexible with these! Just no written descriptions please! If you must use a written description USE BULLET POINTS.
Prompt/Idea: If this is a fetish or NSFW piece, please include the kinks you'd like at the beginning! You can see what I'm willing to draw here!
Private? Y/N: Can I post this publicly to my Discord and FA gallery?
TOS Y/N: You've read my Terms of Service and agree.
December Commission Slots Closed! <3 Yall are amazing
Posted 5 years agoPsst. Hey friens, I'm have a few more slots for December commissions leftover from Discord claims! This will be the last month I will use my current trello board for commission prices, and in 2021 there will be a new board with a new TOS and new prices. These prices will be on average 50% higher.
Prices can be found here! This will be the last time you see this board! => https://trello.com/b/43rcDGem/
Feel free to Note me here or on Discord (Essynkardi#0413) to discuss ideas, work out details, and get a quote if you're interested! This will mostly be first-come, first-serve. I'll be sending invoices out at the end of the night. :3

2021 Commission Plans and Update
Posted 5 years agoHey friends! It's really been just over a year since I started this whole thing, hasn't it? Kinda mindboggling, all said! I've met some great people and I'm really starting to feel at home with this whole furry thingy. ^w^ I've drawn a lot more this year than I have since I graduated highschool, and I think it shows. I've also learned a lot about digital art and improved my knowledge of the programs I use and just general art skills. I've also learned so much more about the commission process!
2020 has also hit me hard in a lot of other places. I didn't start the year off well in terms of finances and as time went on my other job became less and less practical for me to continue doing (car maintenance expensive & other life demands). As of August this year, art has essentially been my only source of income. With my current prices, I have to take on a much larger workload each month than I feel I am reasonably able to do in order to meet bare minimum expenses. I also need to start getting myself in a position to save money. I feel like adjusting my pricing system will help me both reach income goals as well as give me an opportunity to take more commissions with a less intense work demand.
As such, I will be changing my current pricing system so that flat colors are now the default price point. That means when you order a commission from me, additions will be calculated using the flat color price as a base. Cel shading will be an additional 25% fee and soft shading will be an additional 50% fee. Colored sketches are at a 50% discount and will be my most accessible price tier.
In short with numbers
My new base prices for flat color commission types will be as follows:
Fullbody = $80 USD
Partial/Badge = $40 USD
Mawshots = $60 USD
Comic Pages/Sequences (2-5 panels) = $120-$200 USD
In addition, my Terms of Service are getting a complete overhaul! Some of this is going forward as an artist, as I expand my income streams and turn this more into a career. In the future I plan on making use of some print on demand service or bulk ordering physical merch to sell. It all depends!
My SubscribeStar will also be undergoing a few changes! I'll be adding tiers for discounts and those who wish to KEEP the current pricing system and have guaranteed chances at commissions each month. There will be a themed SubscribeStar piece each month that subscribers can make suggestions for and vote on! I'll also be doing my best to post more WIPS and doodles there publicly for people who don't have time for my discord server. As commission demand grows from multiple places across the internet, I plan to also begin making use of a system that prioritizes new customers, those who make use of my Subscribestar, and those who are in my Discord server; in that order. Any remaining slots will be first come-first serve.
This will all be on my new, shiny 2021 Trello Board! I'll be posting a journal with the link when the changes go into effect in Janurary. ^^
Subscribestar members starting at the $10 tier will be seeing discounts as well as other neat benefits! Monthly Subscribestar theme pieces, commission slot and adopt preclaims, and a chance at a cel shaded piece each month.

TL;DR -
In January I will have a new TOS and my commissions are changing, bigtime! On average you will see a 50% increase in price, with the base 'quality' level of commissions being changed from cel shading to flat colors. Commissions with two characters will still see no additional charge. Vore alts WILL be charged.Subscribestar members starting at the $10 tier will be seeing discounts as well as other neat benefits! Subscribestar and October Commissions OPEN
Posted 5 years agoI now have a subscribestar! I've been meaning to do this for a while as a little form of a monthly "tip jar" sort of thing; but had trouble choosing a platform (given concerns about patreon...)
Tiers start for as low as $1 and $3
There is a $5 tier that provides a special discord role, channel, and first dibs on commission slots each month
The largest tier is for $15 and lets you pick a custom name color, as well as automatically enters you for a fullbody cel-shaded piece at the start of each month! You also get to submit suggestions for monthly adopt themes~
You can join my subscribe star here! https://subscribestar.adult/essynkardi
As usual, I'm incrementally increasing my prices; however this month I am making the switch away from free 2nd characters. 2nd characters now cost an additional 25% on top of the base commission price! Please keep that in mind when ordering!
https://trello.com/b/43rcDGem/essyn.....-project-queue
As a reminder, I do still have Valentino's Vore WG Drive ongoing, both as an incentive for donations and larger commissions. Commissions count towards the drive! Orders over $50 means an item related to a character of your choice will be included in the piece, and the largest donor for each milestone will be able to pick a character to be featured as prey in the image! Currently we've made about $1500 in total, so halfway there! Donations to this drive also help immensely with living expenses.
