Hey guys, I'm looking for an artist that I'm interested in commissioning, but odd as this may sound, I can't for the life of me remember his/her artist name, or if he/she was posting on FurAffinity or DeviantArt.

He/she recently made a pic that showed several elaborate bottles/vials filled with glowing liquids in various colors. I remember one of them looking almost like the spikes head of a mace, with blunted spike-like spurs all over it.

I think this was the same artist that once drew a shaman/druid male anthro-deer buck that had a gnarled staff with two glowing green orbs on it, and on the same pic there was another anthro deer buck, but this one instead had two kukri-like short swords whose edges glowed green.

If anyone remembers/recognizes either of those two pics, pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking through my submissions, but considering I haven't done any cleaning of it in over a year (I have like 70,000 pics to go through), Some help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys and gals. Just thought I'd give you guys a little update of what's goin on here in snowless Sweden.

- My pnemonia has lifted a bit, but it's now mutated into a really annoying cough, and whenever I get a coughing fit, I can barely breathe. Still, at least it doesn't hurt, but *fuck* is it annoying.

- I had a brief chat with the boss at work today, asking if I'm gonna still have a job after New Years. The good news is that I'm gonna get to stay, but there was no set period mentioned when we talked, merely dropping it at "we'll talk more after New Years". On the plus side, I got a letter from the employment office saying that they're willing to extend my funding for a whole more year, meaning that the state picks up part of my pay, giving the boss an incentive to keep me on.

- With the donations you guys have sent in, and delays due to muse-problem, we've currently got THREE pages of HtbD coming. I've finished the script for page #12, and I'm working on page 13 as we speak. Karno says he's got a week free after New Years in which he can churn out a lot of pages, and I'm going to aim for that window.

Other than that, yeah, other than some more minor drama, things are rolling along fairly well around here. I got a really neat bakery book for christmas from a friend, and I'm just *dying* to try some of them out.

Hello everybody. Thought I'd let you know what is happening around here.

First of all, my health is returning. I am pretty much back to normal with my back and I can move almost the same as before, but I'm still cautious of overexerting myself, and not lifting anything too heavy (I've had to say no to a few workmates who wanted help with some heavy lifting). Thankfully this seems to have been a very short-term injury, which I am *very* grateful for. Thank you all for the kind words and well-wishes.

Also, I am sure a lot of you have noticed that there was no new HtbD page this November. I take full responsibility for this. I sent out the usual commission fee to Karno on payday of September, but you might remember the drama that was going on in my life back then, and my muse was pretty much absent because of it. I eventually did get the script done and sent to Karno, but with the usual hubbub of getting things back to normal after taking some time off back home (well-needed by the sound of it), his muse hasn't been cooperating fully either.

But I think we're both getting back on our feet; Karno's working on the page and I'm working on the script for page #12, but it's gonna be a bit longer before the next page comes up. But, if all goes well, and nothing unexpected shows up, we *might* see two pages this holiday season.

Hopefully we'll be fully back on track after New Years. If anything comes up, I'll let you guys and gals know.

A slight update. My back went out last night. I was putting in the icetray when mine spine just went *POP* and I dropped to the floor of the kitchen like a puppet with its strings cut.

I can't even begin to describe the agony, the crippling cramps. I couldn't do anything but trying to find the least painful position to lie in. I barely dared to breathe it hurt so much. And to add insult to injury, I'd fallen directly in front of the freezer door and I could feel the heat leeching from my legs. The only thought in my head was "close the door!!!". I don't know how I managed it but I did.

Next was calling for help, because I was definitely incapacitated. But I couldn't get up, so I had to drag myself out of the kitchen (couldn't do more than twitch my legs at that point). My cellphone was upstairs, so that was impossible to reach, but thankfully the stationary phone was just a few feet away (I don't even want to consider what would have happened if I'd left both phones upstairs), so I managed to crawl over to it and pull it down to me.

I called mom, who called my sister who lives in town cause I couldn't remember her number, and she and her husband drove right over. But there wasn't much they could do so they called an ambulance.

The paramedics didn't show up for almost an hour, probably since my situation wasn't life-threatening, during which time I just laid faceflat on the living room carpet since I couldn't move. And when they finally did get here they pretty much said this wasn't severe enough to drive me to the hospital.

Then they decided that we had to get me seated so that they could do some tests. But I had to do most if the work myself since that was the only way. The first try I got maybe halfway up before a cramp so agonizing I almost blacked out hit me, and dropped to the floor while my spine felt like it was *on fire*. But the medics didn't gve up and on the second try we got me into a chair, but I was half-dazed, arms shaking from keeping me upright and white as chalk. I barely even dared to move my head to look at the paramedics.

They did some tests and gave me a pretty hefty dose of painkillers, then decided it would be best if I went to bed. But since the bed was upstairs, and I sure as shit couldn't climb them, it was decided that I would bed down on the floor of the living room. The medics left, my sister helped tuck me in, and I nodded off.

Now, here I am the morning after, writing this on my iphone. I am bedridden, in constant minor agonies, the only help I have is my mother, who can't really help with a situation like this, and the local hospital can't really do much of anything. I am hurt, depressed, and more than a little afraid that I'm not even sure I can go to the bathroom on my own.

I have no idea how long this will take to blow over (one of mom's friends said probably a month), but for now I'm a little out of the picture.

And Karno, I'm sorry I haven't sent the usual for HtbD, but I can't get to my bank dongle uostairs right now. I'll try to work something out.

I got Bf3 on the release date today (they started selling the game at midnight last night, but I've got a job so no go there), I take the bus over to the city where I pick up my preordered copy. I take the bus back home, put the disc in my PC, hit AutoRun.exe, skip the installation of Origin (I already have it due to needing Steam for another game), so I come over to the Origin activation page....

And nothing happens.

Wtf.

And now I check around, and after seeing a few message boards full of people with the same problem, I find this.

So let me get this straight. One of the most hyped-up games of the year, maybe even the decade, and the website/server/whatever that you *have* to go through to get even the singleplayer campaign to work goes down on the launchdate?

That is fucking MENTAL!!!

Why do they put us through this? I mean, I know it's meant to make it hard for the pirates, but you're making it even harder for the people who actually *bought* the game legit to get the damn thing to work!

Ugh, I'm going to bed and *hoping* this will have sorted itself out before friday afternoon when I come home from work.

Well, my life has been, well, not exactly as usual these last few weeks, but suffice to say that the drama has somewhat mellowed out. But I suspect it's going to get a lot worse before it's over.

New page of HtbD is up, fully funded by donations. Your money at work so to speak. XD

And sicne we seem to have hit a slump at work this week, the boss told me that since I've got a lot of vacation time to take out (I only had like 2 weeks of vacation total all summer) that I could take the week off. so, that leaves me with a lot of time time to finally write down a lot of these ideas I've had.

And yes, you will see a lot of those, considering some of what I've been workign on are flavor text for other commissions. Provided I don't get any unexpected interruptions, this should be a busy week for my gallery.

Fucking hell.

I need to vent a little about the ugly turn my life has taken recently.

About two months ago I got in touch with the sister of an old high school mate. We've gotten along in the past but we got to being pretty good friends now that she lives in my town. But the thing is, she had a boyfriend who's a pretty scary control freak. He has to know everything she's doing, at all times, and who she's doing it with. And he's both abusive, scary and cheats around more than a little. She's tried to break up with him multiple times but the guy just doesn't go away.

So when he finds out about me, he predictably doesn't take it very well. He started asking her about me, then accusing her of cheating on him with me, all because I somehow came into her life. There was one night when I came by to say hello to her, and he was there with her. The atmosphere was too say the least a bit awkward. After a while I started to head home, and she said she had to ttake a smoke. Outside she told me he was in a very bad mood and if things got real bad, she'd run to my place (I lived like 4 minutes away by foot), and I said I'd keep the door unlocked for her. I stayed up till 2.30 AM that night, worried as hell about her.

Next morning, a saturday, she hadn't shown up or called, so I sent her an sms to check up on her. Not 5 minutes later I get an sms back, but it basically said "What the fuck do you want with my girl?!!!" and I realized it was *him*. HE'D answered HER cellphone. I was torn what to do then, and before I could decide n a course of action, he sent another message, asking if maybe he should come over to me so we could "talk about it", and he mentioned my adress!! HE FUCKING KNEW WHERE I LIVED!! It fucking hurt, but I decided to stay away for the time being, because me showing up then and there would probably have sent him sky high. Thankfully it worked out, but I was so worried about her.

Then, about three weeks ago he did something horrible that convinced her that she just couldn't be around this nutcase anymore, and she asked me to help her move without her boyfriend finding out about it, and I agreed to help.

Two days later I was invited over to her parent's place, which I accepted (her folks are great people), but later, when she and I were walking home, the boyfriend calls and says he's at her place, wondering where she is. And he was actully *inside* her apartment, which freaked her out because she hadn't given him a key. Turns out he'd gone to a friend of hers, who *had* a spare key to her place, and somehow scared her enough to give it to him, then let himself in.

And somehow he found out about her moving (I don't know how), and a few days before we were supposed to move, he came to my house! Yeah, he showed up at my doorstep while walking her dog! Now, I'm a diplomatic person, and I managed to talk around him a bit and he left peacefully, but the whole episode freaked me out more than a little.


So we postponed the move to one day later when she knew he'd be back home (he lives in another city), but when her parents show up with the U-Haul trailer, her mom notices after a hile that there's a guy sitting in a car on the parking lot, with the window down and his arm out, listening to pretty loud music, and she thinks this guy might be a spy for the boyfriend! Taking this as a possibility, I suggest that we take a turnabout route with both cars and see if the guy follows us. It turns out he didn't, so he probably wasn't a spy, but her mom wouldn't have put it past this guy.

So now she's been in her new place about a week, which is really nice, and her mom called me a few minutes ago and told me she'd gotten like THIRTY messages on her homephone from the guy, one of which mentioning how he'd hit his own mom!! Her mom is frankly losing hope, because this guy is a bullying as hell and my friend has been unable to stand up to him before. Once her mom hanged up I called my friend and told her to unplug the homephone and discontinue the service, since she already has a cellphone and she can make do just fine with that. But since she's got a long subscription deal with her provider, terminating the number would be expensive, so I told her to just put the phone in one of her backpacks, throw it in the closet and leave it. She promised me she would , and I really hope she does.

Now, she's hopefully mostly safe, but the weak points in this little protection scheme is her other friend (who the boyfriend got/took the spare key from) who knows where she lives and her phone number, but who doesn't have a spare key.... And me, who has all three, and the guy knows where I live.

I am understandably a bit worried. I think I can take the guy in a straight fight (he's actually surprisingly small for a bully), but if he brings in friends, or if he vandalises my home... I'm a bit ashamed to say that I've found myself wondering how much this friendship with her is going to cost me.

Okay people, just thought I'd drop by and let you all know that the script and money for page 9 was sent to :Karno: yesterday, so the comic will be in the works shortly.

Hello gang. Thought I'd give you a little update on what's happening in the HtbD section.

August 25th is coming up, and I've got the script for page #8 done and ready for payday.

Donations are also looking good; we've gotten a bit over $40 sicne payment for the last donation page went up, so we're more than halfway to a new page.

Now, here's where I'd like some nput from you guys and gals, since there are a few options here. Should I

a) Wait until we get the full amount for a comic?

or b) commission Karno for a pinup?

And if we wait for a full comic page, I'm kind of curious; do you guys want it done and posted right away, so you get two comics possibly within a few days of eachother, with a consequential month of wait afterwards, or should I delay posting it a bit, so you possibly get a comic page every 2 weeks or so?

And if you want a pinup, are there any ideas or requests on the subject?

I have a few other ideas brewing, but they're still in a raw stage, so that's for later.

Just finished seeing Captain America, and I gotta say, it was worth every cent of the ticket price. Alright, I cringed at the Star Spangled Dancers, but I think most people did.

But other than that, I can't really find anything wrong with it. If you get à chance to go see it, do so. You won't regret it.

EDIT: Two things I'd like to call bullshit on though.

1) Fisrt appearance of Cap's shield: Let me get this straight: this thing is made out of the sole amount (i.e. ALL of it) of a super-rare metal that has properties that would be worth MILLIONS to the defense industry, and they store it under the display table, out in the open, and don't even mention it?

2) Stark testing the Valkyrie-energy: A small pellet of this stuff blows up in his face, destroying both a thick metal container and shattering a probably pretty thick glass window, at less than a foot's distance, and all he get's from that is a ruffled hairdo?

Also, am I the only one seeing a *lot* of similarities to this movie and the latest Wolfenstein game? Only major differences are that there aren't any aliens. And well, the "über-energy" is blue instead of green. I *can't* be the only one.

Well, good news I suppose. First day back on the job from my *one* week of vacation (ugh), and I get told that my employment has gone from being on notice until August 13th to full employment until the end of the year.

While I suppose that's good news, knowing that you've got a job in these still fairly hard times, I feel somewhat torn on the whole subject. Sure, having a steady paycheck is great, but I've come to realize just how bad a workplace my current place of employment is. I won't go into details, but let's just say that I had a gettogether with an old friend of me and my brother last week. Turns out he's actually worked at the same place a couple of years ago.

His advice to me: "Get out."

He'd managed 3 years there before he finally said "I can't take this shit anymore." and quit. And I sympathize with the guy. This place is hard most days, and downrigth aggravating the rest.

Still, I guess I'm grateful. Steady job means a steady paycheck, means a steady supply of comics.

Ah well, knock on wood.

Well, June is now officially over, so i thought I'd give you guys a little tally.

From various donors, we've managed to scrape together a total of $33. Thank you all who donated.

While that might not sound like much, it's enough for one b&w pinup from Karno, so bonus art is now an option.

But, I'm willing to sweeten the deal even more for you guys. We are currently short $50 for a full b&w bonus page, but if we were to raise a total of $65 (another 30 bucks), I'll throw in another $20 into the pot myself. If not, well, you guys'll still get some more HtbD, just not a full page.

So, this is where I'd like you guys and gals to vote on what I should do.

1) Wait another week or two for more donations, and if the amount comes up to $65, I'll add another $20 myself and get a whole extra comic page.

Well, I finally sat down and worked my way through the process of setting up a donation service for Here there be Dragons. A lot more hassle than I thought.

Anyhoo, For those of you who have in the past expressed a willingness to throw out a few bucks to make the pages come out faster, here's your chance.

Now, this account that I've set up is strictly for creating more HtbD content, whether that be comic pages or pinups, but primarily pages I would think. Seems to be what you guys want most. I'm not touching any of this, other than to send it Karno's way.

I've chosen PayPal for this since A) It's what I've been using so far, and B) it's the only one I know how to set up so far. XD But if you guys have another payment-service that would work better for you, drop me a note and I'll look into it.

I want to point out that I'm am not asking for donations here. I've got a decent enough income (so far) to keep HtbD coming out at its current pace for a good while longer. You guys and gals will still get your goodies each month.

But from what I've seen on the Web, the one thing most people seem to complain about with this comic is the rate it comes out. Well, now there's at least *one' way they can help speed things up if they truly want to. XD

Okay folks, I'm getting closer to considering opening up for donations for Here there be Dragons.

But I would like some input from your guys and gals. First of all, is there any interest out there to donate to ensure that more pages and assorted pinups of HtbD are made? I know there were a *lot* of people who said they'd seriously consider donating. In fact, I think a whole 3 pages of Part 1 were completely sponsored by generous fans!

I want to stress that, these donations are for *extra* content. I will still commission Karno for one page per month. If you decide to donate, that will go strictly to HtbD content, most likely extra pages per month, but also possibly more pinups and maybe mini-comics.

But, how should I set this up? The three options I've heard are PayPal, Alertpay and money orders. I'd like you guys to tell me what would be best for *you*.
