Hesitating about going to Eurofurence this summer :-/
Posted 16 years agoI’m not seeking advice really, mostly thinking aloud. Nevertheless, inspirational comments are welcome
I’d like to go, I started framing pieces for the art show, and I think of offering a SIG, a conference titled From Darwin to drama: Emotions in animals and men, does it sound good? But…
I wanted a single room like last year, and I can’t get it. The con is getting too crowded, or the place too small.
Why do I want a single room? Of course, the possibility to easily receive guest for sex or hugs is a factor More importantly, although I like to socialize, I'm 41 y.o. and mostly introverted; the young crowd is stressful for me after a while, and I need a haven of solitude handy.
Now, if I found a quiet, sex-tolerant roommate, it could be okay, but there remains the key issue. They give out only one key per room, and I’d hate to engage again in chasing one another for the key like 2 years ago. It quite reduced my freedom of movement, and it will be worse now that the con is bigger.
In short, the payment is due mid-March, so I have 2 weeks to think. It’s unlikely that I’ll go at this stage
P.S.: did you notice that the FA RANKING was updated earlier in February? http://superwailingbonus.com/farank/

Nice surprise to see a few oldies still high on some stats. « After the big game » might be artificially high because it was a contest submission, so I prolly got many extra viewers from Artdecade’s pages.
I don’t see a lesson to be derived here, except continuing to do what I want… mix mainstream with a definite touch of fetish, care about angle and pose… And I must give a try at framing the original « Footjob & Facial in the Lockerroom »

Misc Moose News
Posted 16 years agoMy teachers are on strike, my psychology classes stopped 3 days after they begun and I'm still waiting for my grades
I might get a podcast interview on a webTV by next month; for my book, not my drawings hehe.
My moose makes a surprise appearance in a S & M story on Yiffstar! http://www.yiffstar.com/?pid=75193 . This is because of the two pictures I commissioned 2 years ago from
moodyferret, lauching the "deracked deer bois" harem concept (Pic 1 and Pic 2). The story portrays me as significantly more vicious than I usually am. You might like it nevertheless
I had a delayed Valentines Day with my BF on Sunday, it was great and we saw Bolt, I loved the film and he liked it too although he isn't a fur, especially the "road movie" middle part.
Thanks to the new search option, I enquired into old moose drawings and I found these especially cool!:

Sooo, exams over, the year begins
Posted 17 years agoI guess I'll never again be obliged to memorize facts about babbling babies interacting with their mothers *bounces*
And I'm left with the question: will I get good grades or excellent grades? ;o)
So now I'm available for other things:
- iron a mountain of clothes
- do my 2008 accounting for my consulting business
- prepare a conference/workshop on emotions for end January
- work on my dissertation on the history of cognitive-behavioral therapy
- find more customers
- and maybe draw something, lol
What are the odds that my two kiriban winners
rustysteele and
arendragonclaw would EACH request a picture featuring Weregarurumon and Leomon? x-D

Posted 17 years agoThe usual routine or possibly mayhem
When my pageviews counter hits 33333, capture the screen and post a link to the screenshot IN THIS JOURNAL (and nowhere else).
(Ideally, I’d want you to upload the screenshot here on FA, but it turns out it’s against the TOS - a pity I say - and the admins may remove it without notice. So it’s safer to upload your screenshot on Photobucket or such – I can’t reward you if I can’t see the shot.)
YOUR USERNAME MUST BE VISIBLE in the shot!
Honorable winners of my previous kiribans, kindly refrain from participating, for the sake of variety.
Prizes:
- The first reply below with a valid link earns an inked and colored drawing.
- The second reply wins a pencil drawing, possibly colored depending on my inspiration.
(There will be 2 winners maximum.)
Good luck to all!

New Year's Eve
Posted 17 years agoSo, have ye all a good party tonight!
I’m kinda sick and preoccupied with my university exams next week, but I’ll manage somehow.
I resolve to improve head and hand anatomy.
P.S.: I, for one, like the FA ranking page.
I’m 744 and gaining ground MUHAHA

Did 9 out of 12, and seasons' greetings!
Posted 17 years ago(The postponed 11th day drawing is "eleven cocktail shots").
I'll be travelling early tomorrow, boy my eyes are sore and I still must prepare my suitcase and the files I'm taking with me. I'll stay in touch but won't be drawing for a week. Happy celebrations to all, may you get gifts and money and good things to eat and drink! ;o)

I fail! (5th day of Christmas postponed)
Posted 17 years agoExhaustion and sore eyes prevented me from doing the 5th drawing. Also I want to put more work into this one than into the others. The theme will be "five deer boi slaves". I'll set it aside and do it sometime before year-end. For now I'll move on to the 6th day.
Quick M:tG contest
Posted 17 years ago(EDIT: we have a winner already!)
Do you wish your character to be in in one of my remaining nine Christmas drawings?
Then, be the first to name the three Magic cards referred to in Emolamb's card I drew yesterday: that is, whose garment did Emolamb borrow? Who are his two opponents? (Disregard Eustache's card and Panicozu's card in the background, they're off-topic)

For the first time today I...
Posted 17 years ago... was interviewed on a local radio for half an hour, about emotions and my book. (The station was France Bleu Drôme Ardèche). I put my best foot forward and it was cool!
My book will very soon be released on Amazon.ca - I’m setting foot in North America!
I ate turkey fillet yesterday to try and share the celebration from a distance. Alas it wasn't very tasty ;o) Happy Thanksgiving!

1 hood = 1 wolf
Posted 17 years agoA billboard campaign currently in the Parisian metro:
http://pics.livejournal.com/eustach.....c/00037set.jpg
The youngster says:
"I want to dress like my buddies. Too bad for you!"
(The wolf remains silent).
Text: "1 hood = 1 wolf. Wearing fur is wearing death."
The campaign was launched by Brigitte Bardot's foundation. Do you know this woman? She's a puzzling character.
- gigantic film star in the 50s and 60s
- retired in 1973, started promoting animal rights
(Here's Brigitte Bardot before and after promoting animal rights; are you sure that promoting animal welfare is good for your health? Lol, just kidding).
- especially famous for condemning seal hunting during a visit to Canada in 1978
- then becoming increasingly controversial because of bizarre behavior (she had a donkey castrated without the owner's consent, on grounds that the donkey was "harassing" her own livestock)
- more recently expressed violent/contemptuous conservative right-wing, misanthropic and anti-gay views (her 2003 book "Un cri dans le silence" was an opinion-divider, and wasn't translated in English; received a minor sentence in 2008 for inciting to racial hatred in an open letter).
I fancy this drawing by late humorist Jean-Marc Reiser (WARNING, BLOODY AND OFFENSIVE):
http://pics.livejournal.com/eustach.....c/00038r89.jpg
This baby seal seems to have learned from Brigitte Bardot's visit to Canada. "Since I wear lipstick, the canadian sailors don't kill me anymore, they merely fuck me in the ass."
I say: unleash Brigitte Bardot upon Sarah Palin! That's a fight I want to watch, eating ice cream.

Auction closed + Next kiribans
Posted 17 years agoSo, time’s up, and there were no bids for the commission slot I opened yesterday. I can't say I'm happy about it, yet every test must include the possibility of failure ;o) I’ll try again in a few months, after I improve my skills.
Meanwhile, I made my decision about my next kiribans: they will be at 33333 and 50000 pageviews. Take care guys!

Pause in kiribans + My first commission slot
Posted 17 years agoHi guys,
Until now, I’ve been holding screenshot contests every 5K pageviews. I wish to avoid that it becomes too much of a routine. Also, I’d like to try my hand at taking some commissions, but then, the addition of kiribans and commissions would leave me no time for my own drawing projects. Sooo…
1) Kiribans are put on hold for now (I still owe one drawing for the 25K contest, which will be done of course). If I organize anything for my 30K pageviews, it will be something other than a standard screenshot contest.
2) I hereby open one commission slot as a test. If I'm happy with the test, I'll open slots again, one at a time. We’re looking at a digitally colored pencil or ink drawing, such as these:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1529774/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1423018/

http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1659302/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1364373/
Taboos: no uro/scat/vomit/spray, no females/babyfur/fatfur.
Lead time: 4 weeks.
Payment: in advance, by means of Paypal only (refund possible in case of issues).
Picture use: both the commission-giver and I will have right to post the picture in web galleries.
Price: this being my first commission, I hesitate on what price to ask for, so let’s hold a 24-hour auction in this very journal entry. The starting price is 45 $. Place your bids in fresh replies at end of list (bids placed higher up in “replies to replies” will be disregarded). Bid only in multiples of 5 dollars (other figures, for instance 46 $, will be disregarded. This way, only a person with a sizeable motivation can outbid you). The auction will be held for about 24 hours, that is, ending tomorrow Sunday, shortly after 4:00 pm PST or midnight GMT (I can’t guarantee the exact ending time. EDIT: I postponed the end of auction to midnight GMT, because US Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday, so the PST-GMT difference has changed).
Hoping that at least one of you bids to win the slot!
(Remember: Paypal only, and bid in multiples of 5 $. The first bid may be 45 $ or higher).

Misc. news
Posted 17 years agoResumed wrestling yesterday after a month’s interruption due to leg injury. The training was hard, now I can barely lift my legs to put my trousers on and off x-D
Here’s a neat tag near the gymnasium where I wrestle, featuring a lion and a dragon.
My psychology classes are very interesting overall. Alas, the clinical psychology classes are still very much run by psychoanalyst teachers. They force me to study projective tests such as the Rorschach inkblots. Every time one of them indulges in lecturing us about oedipus complex, castration and the like, I have an urge to get up and slap her priestly bourgeois bitch face, and I’d be glad to break Freud’s neck too. The fake, clueless and depressing doctrine of psychoanalysis is unfortunately still very influential in France, in the media and such; I hate them, I’ll help kick them out into oblivion to the best of my abilities in the rest of my career.
Speaking of Rorschach, I’m currently reading Watchmen, I love it.

Clicking this link, you will see a ball game with two teams of players. One team wears white shirts, and the other black shirts. The white team has the ball to begin with, and you must count the number of passes within the white team. Afterwards, post the number below!

Home, sweet home
Posted 17 years agoAnd 220S, 7C, 72J, 26F, 10W. I'll need a few days to catch up.
So, I proudly could exhibit my art at Eurofurence 14's art show! I'll post a photograph of the panel with details. Besides, I drew little at the con.
My independence strategy (booking my own car and room) paid off: I enjoyed the pleasant sides of the con without the stress. Except the car proved too expensive: that bitch Ford sucked gasoline like blood. The single room was also convenient for receiving guests ;o)
Going to university tomorrow morning to sign up for my bachelor's degree (or kind of) in psychology.
Oh, and it's my birthday on Wednesday 3
EDIT:
- Bidding at the art show I got a unique large poster print of this one: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1487951/
- I won a piece of the cake of the Immaculate Misconception (yummy) and T-shirt for asking a "cruel and merciless question" at a Spanish Inquisition quiz (my question was: "what is the bastinado?")
- I met much more people who knew me from the net than last year ;o)

Preparing for Eurofurence 14
Posted 17 years agoI'll be heading for Suhl, Germany, on Wednesday morning, picking up a fursuiter in Koeln.
I framed some original drawings, using a trick to add color; I believe it looks great. Now I hope I'll get a panel at the art show: they told me it would depend on space freeing up.
I'll be able to break free from the crowd part of the time, having a single room and a rented car. I hope the weather will allow walking in the woody hills. I also intend to use the hotel's spa every day ;o)

I'm back (+ 25K winners)
Posted 17 years agoI had a good time in North Portugal. The weather and food were so-and-so; the wines were a good surprise. I visited many places called churches, containing much fanart of the adventures of Jesus. His mother seemed to possess a special power involving daggers pointing at her heart, not sure what it does.
So, I got 28 new watchers in my absence, and the pageviews counter hit 25000. I’m happy to say that tasty
goatmancer wins an inked & colored drawing, and my fellow citizen (yes, because I am also swedish, among other things)
stripekazama wins a pencil drawing. Let them PM me with their request, of course. Sorry I can’t give out more prizes: as announced before, it would hold back my own projects too much.
Reminder: please approve the good comments on my book on the Amazon.fr page (vote « oui »; you can log in to vote using the same identification as on your home Amazon site):
