UPDATE on housing situation (PLEASE READ)!

zaricat and I have begun looking for houses, most of them in the Lynnwood area since I work nearby, and the transit center in Lynnwood serves Seattle pretty thoroughly (which is important for Zari's work). I can't afford to waste any more time with potential roommates so I'm asking only for SERIOUS candidates who are SERIOUSLY interested in making this happen. Any potential roommates, along with Zari and I, need to start getting the ball rolling and applying to places ASAP.
A couple things to consider: Zari and I will both be bringing our cats. Most places we've looked at have a 2 pet minimum so we will more than likely be unable to accommodate any pets that potential candidates plan to bring. My cat Kial is very mild mannered and gets along with most everyone as long as you pet him, but Zari's cat Samarah is a bit more reserved and tends to keep to herself.
Staying within walking distance of a Mud Bay is incredibly important for me. Working at another store is a possibility but it would be far easier for both of us to stay within Lynnwood.
I have created a Telegram group for interested potential roommates and I expect all applicants to be communicative, able to relocate to Lynnwood and easily reachable for any updates or concerns.

I need to move! (PLEASE READ)
Posted 8 years agoHey guys. My current roommate (who also owns my house) just accepted a job offer in another state. This means that, before the next 2 months are up, I'll need to find a place to move.
(Before I get into the details, I'd like to politely ask that, if you've been linked to this from Twitter, please RT that tweet if you haven't already. Since I only have 8 weeks minimum to get this figured out, the larger audience I can reach out to, the better)
The adult stuff: I'm a 31 year old dude who works full time at the Mud Bay in Lynnwood, WA. I bring in 1400-1600 a month after taxes, though some of that goes to paying my cell phone bill (about $125 a month). I don't own a vehicle so I'd prefer to live somewhere within walking distance to a Mud Bay. I also own a male tuxedo cat, named Kial, who has a somewhat dominant personality but is very loving as long as you're touching him. He doesn't do well with other dogs but is largely indifferent to other cats. I haven't seen how he responds to other animals yet, however.
I drink very rarely and usually only when I'm hosting large groups of people or at cons, but I do use marijuana recreationally. I don't smoke any substances (including weed) and have a really hard time around anyone who is smoking anything. Vaping is my preferred THC delivery method, which dissipates quickly and doesn't leave an unpleasant scent. I also own a nicotine vape but it only delivers 6 mg. and I only vape the good smelling flavors. I'm a social butterfly and love being around people so, ideally, I'd love to find a place that is cool with large social gatherings of about 5-10 people about once a month. When I'm not hosting large groups, I generally tend to keep to myself in my room, though I'm not opposed to any roommates dropping in. For this reason, living with other extroverts would be nice but is not required.
My girlfriend and I have been together officially for a month or so, so you'll be seeing her pretty often. It would be awesome to find a place that can host her as well since she's in a pretty bad spot right now, but it's not required. In any case, I want to live with her as soon as I can so I might not be staying in this prospective house for a super long time.
I would like to find a place where I could have my own bedroom, and my own bathroom would be especially nice. I'm a big guy and take up a lot of space so a larger bedroom that can easily house a queen size bed, a mini fridge, a desk, an air conditioner and a wall mounted TV is ideal.
I will happily wash my own dishes and clean up after myself and my guests, but please don't expect me to clean up a mess I didn't make.
The furry stuff: I own a fursuit (and have another partially built) and I attend cons 2-3 times a year. FC and BLFC are always for sure (barring financial issues). I have two fursonas, an anthro Espeon and meerkat. I'd like for all of my prospective roommates to also be fairy active furries, as the roommate I have now isn't super involved in the fandom and I kind of miss having a "furry house."
The personal stuff: To name just a few, I'm super into Pokemon, Zelda, The Game Grumps, and Rick and Morty. That should give you a rough idea of what my sense of humor is like. When I'm not at work, I'm usually browsing the net and/or playing some games alone or with friends on my Switch. I'm not much of a cook but I can make rudimentary meals (I eat out way too often).
Be expecting a lot of edits to this as I think of more things to add down the line.

BLFC Nude Party Details!
Posted 9 years agoGreetings everyone! I will be hosting my first annual nude party at BLFC this year, and I wanted to make a journal addressing the general questions and concerns I tend to get about these events.
First of all, I understand it's natural to be nervous under circumstances like these, but please don't let nervousness keep you from one of the most body positive and liberating events you could experience. I've been to many nude parties in the past, and they're all the same: once everyone gets naked it feels a little awkward for MAYBE a minute, at which point everyone just stops caring. Also, this party will not have a sexual focus. Nobody will have any pressure to do or say anything. I might bust out games but that's it... it'll just be a relaxed, social event for everyone.
If you RSVP "yes" to attend this party, you are agreeing that you WILL get naked upon arrival to the party. If you're not comfortable with that, please don't attend. I've ran into issues in the past where people kept clothing on, and that's destroys the whole point of attending.
This party will be a 100% safe, body positive environment. Everything that happens at the party stays at the party, unless all individuals involved consent to taking information outside of it. Rude comments regarding anyone's physical appearance will not be tolerated, during the event and afterwards. The point of this party is to create a safe space where we can bare it all without fear of judgment. If I can't trust that you'll be cool, I don't want you there.
What should I bring?
Your beautiful naked body, and any booze you'd like to consume! I expect everyone to be responsible adults and handle their liquor intake. Nobody at the party will want to be babysitting someone who had too much alcohol. The party will also be 420 friendly, but please do not smoke any substances in my room (vaping is okay!)
What day/time is it?
Day will be Saturday, time is TBA.
Location?
Won't know until we check in!

10 Things Mario Maker level designers need to stop doing
Posted 10 years agoNot all of us can design levels as good as Nintendo can, but for god's sake, 100 Mario Challenge on Expert is currently a grueling trek through abysmally unfun bullshit. And in the week or so I've owned the game, I've had enough time to figure out what exactly doesn't work when you're designing a level.
I'll go on record with saying that, while I'm not the BEST Mario player by any means, I've been playing since the NES days and know what I'm doing. The points I'm about to bring up shouldn't be dismissed "just because I suck."
So here's what I think the Mario Maker community desperately needs to STOP DOING:
1. Don't immediately put the player in danger.
The starting platform should be a safe zone. Not moving Mario for two seconds shouldn't mean he immediately dies. Give the player enough time to get their bearings and take in their surroundings before putting them in danger. Dying in the first few seconds isn't due to lack of skill, it's a cheap shot.
2. Don't make pipes or doors that immediately kill the player.
This one can be forgiven if the incorrect paths are CLEARLY marked as such and the player deliberately goes against that advice, but there is nothing that will make me skip your level faster than opening a door that promptly drops me into lava. I shouldn't have to be nervous when opening a door or going down a pipe because half the time they end up killing me with no warning.
3. Stop overusing sound effects.
It's really hard to use a lot of sound effects in a way that isn't annoying. It's ESPECIALLY annoying when you use them in a way that mocks the player.
4. Just because the editor has a lot of things, doesn't mean you need to use ALL of those things.
In Mario Maker, less is more. Don't clutter up the screen with literally everything available in the editor just because you can, or because LOL DIFFICULTY.
5. Hiding enemies in blocks is overdone.
Putting enemies in question blocks can be okay if done sparingly, but filling your level with question blocks full of mega enemies that can and probably will immediately kill you upon their summoning is just stupid. In Mario, a player's natural reaction to discovering a ? block will be to hit it, and a player shouldn't be punished for following their natural instincts.
6. Stop forcing the player to make blind jumps.
In official Nintendo levels, Mario will never be forced to make a blind leap into an abyss and hope for the best. Coins are always used in these circumstances, which are supposed to guide the player. It's not the player's fault if they die after a blind jump if they've been given no indication of where to go, which brings me to my next point...
7. It's not cool to deliberately guide the player the wrong way.
Arrow signs and coins that deliberately guide Mario down a path to his death aren't funny. It's just another cheap shot.
8. Mind the length of your level.
It's much easier to handle a very difficult level if it's not lengthy. An unforgiving, endless gauntlet isn't gonna be enjoyed by many.
9. Don't design a level around the exploitation of a glitch.
Designing a level with the assumption that the player will know some obscure glitch to take advantage of to beat it means it is literally impossible for the 99% of people who don't know it.
10. Finally, and this is probably the most important of all: PLAYTEST YOUR LEVELS.
Before uploading what you think is a masterful creation, grab a few friends and have them test it out first. I've been blown away when watching friends play my levels because they discovered some way through the level that I hadn't thought of while designing it. A blind reaction to your level will also give you an idea of how difficult it will be for the average player who has your level come up randomly. Take notes on their reactions as they go through... are they getting upset at a particular part? Consider toning those parts down.
I don't expect that this journal will reach a particularly large audience, but at the very least, it helps me get some frustration off my chest. I'll go back to designing levels that aren't complete bullshit now. :3

Room Space Available For RF2015
Posted 10 years agoHey guys! My girlfriend omegaseagal and I had a cancellation from one of our hotel roomies for RF, and now have a fourth spot available. The other person in our room is achiga.
It is important to note that this is NOT a completely open offer, and the spot will NOT go to the first person who says they want it. Obviously my friends get priority over somebody I don't know at all/as well, and if the latter happens, I'll be insistent that we chat a bit beforehand to ensure we'll all get along.
Some disclaimers! If the idea of being in a room where random sexytimes, vaping and drinking will happen upsets you, please look elsewhere. I'm not putting a damper on my convention experience. My girlfriend and I are also both fursuiters and we expect the room to be kept as tidy as possible so we can see where we're going in fursuit. I'm considering hosting a pokephilia party in the room, so keep that in mind as well. Lastly, the room is in the Clarion, though on the bright side we did manage to get two double beds.

In regards to my pet's interactions (clarifications)
Posted 10 years agoHey guys! I felt like I needed to get this all down, so I had a quick and easy way for people to reference this information if they/I needed it.
To start off, my pet is just that, a pet. I think of and care for him in much the same way that I do my real life cat. Sex is part of what we have, sure, but it's not a primary focus. I'm sure the tweets on my AD account may give a different impression, but much of our interactions occur outside of Twitter and focus on me helping him through his life issues.
This is what I want from a pet, someone I can rely on to be there when I need them, and in turn, I will do the same for them. I don't want a fucktoy who only exists to help me get off, I want someone who can grow and learn with me while I guide and advise them.
My pet is mated in an open relationship, and I myself am in a semi-open relationship. All parties involved are aware of what we have and have given us our blessing to do it.
I will admit that, while I like to think I'm a good Master and dominant, I don't know much about "traditional" D/s roles, symbols or traditions. My first boyfriend sorta forced me into the position of being a Master. I was terrible at it, but I fumbled around and mostly taught myself until I got it.
I recently learned that, in some/most D/s relationships, Doms disallow others from expressing affection or flirting with their subs because it's seen as a breach of the trust the Dom and sub have. That may work for them, but it doesn't for me, and my pet and I established our Agreement on the foundation that it wouldn't be that way.
I WANT my pet to be flirted with. I WANT him to have sex with other people who aren't me. Hell, that just motivates me to consistently be better for him. Besides, I do feel that jealousy can serve as a good motivator in healthy amounts. You don't need my permission to do these things to my pet.
I consider my pet to be a pet, not a slave. I don't control his life, how he lives it or how he interacts with others, and that's not changing any time soon.

Game Night Survey!
Posted 10 years agoI'd like to give a sincere thanks to everyone who makes my game nights possible. I hope you're enjoying them! It means a lot to me that you choose to spend your Saturday nights at my place, and I only want it to get better from here.
I wanted to make this journal to ask for game night feedback. What has been going well? What could I improve? I want to know these things so I can tweak future experiences to be ideal for everyone. In addition, feel free to toss out any game suggestions for me to pick up. When suggesting games, keep in mind that games that support higher player counts are ideal, as well as games that aren't difficult to understand (AKA drunk friendly).
I understand that parking is an issue, but it's really not something I can improve, unfortunately. This particular complex isn't very friendly for large gatherings, which is why carpooling is ideal whenever possible.
Again, thank you everyone for showing up. I want to do good by you guys and be the best host I can be, so please let me know what's going well and what I could do better. <3

Further Confusion 2015!
Posted 11 years agoIt's that time of year again, when furries from all over the world gather to terrify San Jose locals! That's right, Further Confusion is back, and this year I return to it after being forced to miss it last year due to financial danger. And I want to return with a fucking BANG!
I'll be flying down with my lovely girlfriend omegaseagal Thursday morning, and am anticipating arrival to the hotel between noon and 3 PM. I'll be rooming with

Rest In Peace, Arcis
Posted 11 years agoI lost a friend today, and the fandom lost one of the kindest souls it has ever known.
I'm still in shock from it. The tears haven't came yet, but I know they will eventually. I just feel so numb because it happened so suddenly, and even if I'd known about what happened in time, I'd have still been powerless to stop it.
My friend
ArcisDarkfire, AKA Jeromy Stone, died today after suffering from complications brought on by a severe peanut allergy reaction. From what I understand, he was eating dinner on his birthday and unknowingly ingested a large quantity of peanut based food, and went into cardiac arrest. The doctors put him into a medically-induced coma in an attempt to help his body heal, but his prolonged inability to breath lead to severe brain damage, and his family ultimately decided to remove him from life support.
Arcis was gentle, and kind, and was the first person who ever really gave me a chance at affection. Ultimately, I realized that I might not be the person I am today if it wasn't for him.

I'm still in shock from it. The tears haven't came yet, but I know they will eventually. I just feel so numb because it happened so suddenly, and even if I'd known about what happened in time, I'd have still been powerless to stop it.

ArcisDarkfire, AKA Jeromy Stone, died today after suffering from complications brought on by a severe peanut allergy reaction. From what I understand, he was eating dinner on his birthday and unknowingly ingested a large quantity of peanut based food, and went into cardiac arrest. The doctors put him into a medically-induced coma in an attempt to help his body heal, but his prolonged inability to breath lead to severe brain damage, and his family ultimately decided to remove him from life support.Arcis was gentle, and kind, and was the first person who ever really gave me a chance at affection. Ultimately, I realized that I might not be the person I am today if it wasn't for him.

I'll be reprising my Pokephile Party at RF 2014 this year! What's a pokephile? Simply, it's someone who is sexually attracted to Pokemon. This can come in any degree, from simply enjoying the occasional piece of erotic artwork to fantasizing about fucking them every hour of the day. We're still Pokemon fans, but for us, the love goes a little "deeper" than that.
I'm pretty proud of that pun. I'm gonna hold on to that.
I plan for it to go down similarly to how it did last year, albeit without the friend hypnotizing me for an hour and a half. We'll browse porn, talk candidly about our interests, and generally share in a very sex-positive environment. Evolus is alive! And drawing!
Posted 11 years agoSoooo for those of you who have watched me in the past, I've often said that there's not much reason to watch me here, since I don't really DO much on FA aside from favorite stuff and rarely comment on posts.
This, hopefully, is about to change.
I've recently decided to take a serious stab at drawing. I recently met a couple really great artists who happen to practically be neighbors of mine, and they were quite an inspiration for me to finally pick up a pencil and do what I've always dreamed of doing. I see a lot of beautiful pictures in my head, and have often felt disappointment at my inability to make them come to life on paper. But recently, I asked myself "what's holding you back?" And the only answer I could come up with was "myself."
So Evolus is now an artist! YAY!
I'll soon begin uploading pictures here and there that I've sketched. I've committed to drawing one new thing per day, and learning as much about the craft as I can. So far, I've only drawn from references, as I don't yet possess the confidence to draw from my brain, but the hope is that one day this will change. So for those of you who watch me on FA, I'll soon be giving you an actual reason to do so!
My only request from you guys is that, while I absolutely expect (and encourage) constructive criticism posted on my work, please keep in mind that you're speaking to a completely new artist, so keep the comments constructive and not unkind. I also welcome any tips you guys may have for me as to how to learn and grow as an artist. I know everybody starts somewhere, and a reaffirmation that I'm not alone is immensely helpful.
I know this won't be easy, but I'm not going to quit, even if I find myself drawing and erasing the same line over and over and being close to throwing my sketchpad, as I expect will happen someday. I'm tired of saying "I wish" when absolutely nothing is stopping me from saying "I did."

I know what your argument is. You think that, after Red & Blue (and sometimes Gold & Silver) Pokemon lost their spark of creativity, and have resorted to "uncreative," "stupid," and "overdesigned" pieces of trash based on things like, God forbid, an ice cream cone.
Guess what? This isn't new. Take off your nostalgia glasses for just a moment and think about this.
You hate Vanillite because it's an ice cream cone, and Trubbish because it's a bag of trash. Guess what? Gen 1 had Pokemon based on a magnet and a pile of sludge. You want to talk about uncreative? Magnemite "evolved" by finding two other Magnemites that formed together into 3, yet somehow still a single, Pokemon, and Grimer evolves into... a BIGGER pile of sludge! Oh, and let's not forget about Diglett, who does the same thing as Magnemite, and Ditto, who is literally just a wad of gum!
Face it, if things were reversed, and gen 5 was your gen 1, and vice versa, you'd be saying the same things about the gen 1 Pokemon. They haven't lost their spark, they're just continuing to do what they've always done, and sometimes they just happen to make stupid Pokemon. They exist in every single generation.
It's fine if, in your opinion, you just don't care for the new Pokemon in comparison to gen 1. That's totally fine. But don't resort to insulting their designs as a justification. The argument shows up far too often, and I'm sick of hearing it.

Rainfurrest Pokephile Party 2013
Posted 12 years agoI'd like to host a Pokephile party at Rainfurrest this year. This isn't intended for people who just happen to like Pokemon, it's for those with whom the love runs a little bit deeper. We're people who are sexually attracted to them, and aren't afraid to admit it!
Whether you have the occasional Pokeporn pic in your collection or consider Lucario your soulmate, this party is for you. It will most likely be BYOB. I want the party to have a sex positive atmosphere while we share our fantasies and such, but I'd like to keep actual sex from happening until later in the evening.

Need a Place to Stay

Recent events of my life have forced me to vacate my current apartment. I need to be moved out and done with all the cleaning by the end of the month. I've done all I can on the social media front to try and find a place to stay temporarily, and have found no leads, so I'm coming here.
(Brief backstory: My two previous roommates moved out about a month ago, followed shortly by Taze and I breaking up. As a result, living here is no longer financially viable, and I'm being forced to leave.)
I'm seeking housing with anyone in the Kitsap County area first and foremost, but can move to the other side of the sound if need be. I have a part time job at Castle Megastore in Silverdale and would like to keep it, though I'm not adverse to finding a new one.
I'm not loud or intrusive, and usually do my own thing on the internet or playing games. I'm an extrovert and value social contact and interaction to a huge degree, so I won't just sit by myself doing nothing. I clean up after my own messes. I don't smoke or do drugs of any kind (nor do I myself tolerate drug use in those around me) but I do drink on occasion. I know my limits and do not surpass them. I'm a pretty active furry and I go to as many feasible conventions as time and finances will allow, and am also a fursuiter. I'll be bringing a 55 inch HDTV, an Xbox 360 (perfect for Rock Band gaming sessions), a laptop and a desktop computer.
I will be bringing my own cat. He's 5 years old, pretty low maintenance and isn't destructive. I will gladly be responsible for everything required of pet ownership, including paying a pet deposit if need be. I will NOT be bringing my own vehicle with me, but am resourceful and will take buses from A to B if need be. The only bills I am currently responsible for are my cell phone.

Anthrocon 2013 Con Report!
Posted 12 years agoI'm sitting at the airport, mostly relaxed, anxious to get back to Washington cold air, and I have Anthrocon 2013 behind me. I don't want to leave... I felt like a piece of cloth caught to Velcro when I tore myself away from the streets of Pittsburgh, but, as the cliche goes, all good things must come to an end.
When I attended Anthrocon 2010, I had a subpar time. It was my first time fursuiting in a fursuit that didn't properly fit me, I was in the hotel furthest away from the convention center, there was nobody else aside from Taze in my room, I knew absolutely nobody, and it was my first time visiting the east coast. Though I believe it to be nigh impossible to have a completely negative experience at a con, Anthrocon 2010 served to exemplify that it doesn't always work out super well. This Anthrocon, however, bent AC 2010 over and fucked it up the ass without lube. And that was a far more comfortable experience than that last sentence may have implied.
(While I'm thinking about it, quick shoutout to Bunnyboi Lube's Alvcard, who I met for the first time at this con. He's a super nice guy, and I bought some Otterboi Lube from him. I was pretty impressed at how it felt, and I look forward to trying some on my actual penis!)
Our initial flight from Seatac to Houston was delayed by a half hour, which was exactly enough time to make us miss our connecting flight from Houston to Pittsburgh. We were booked on a flight later that day and ended up making it into Pittsburgh 6 hours behind schedule. That fucking sucked, and it essentially kept me from registering on the first day, AND kept me from attending the first night's dance, but eh, it worked out well enough.
After a relatively painless check-in at the Omni, we got into our room and was pleasantly surprised at how spacious it was. I may actually stay at the Omni in future years I attend AC, even though it's further from the convention center. Not only are the rooms better but there's no waiting for the elevators, which is important for a suiter. My roommates for the con were Taze, Lunostophiles and IceKitsune. I had a wonderful time with both, but I wish I could've spent more time with Lu.
Not much happened on the first day. I reacquainted myself with the area and hotels and did some fursuiting. Though Fernandos was good, it was ninety degrees inside on Thursday. I practically died. >_< I couldn't go to the dance or buy alcohol (since it was the holiday) so I just chilled with the roomies for the night.
Friday was when shit started happening! I met PatCat, Frosty, Cecil, Alma and Kilroy and also had my Pokephile Party, which was a very surprising success! Not only did a couple relatively known people attend my party, but it drew in about 20 attendees. I also managed to introduce like... everyone there to poppers, which seemed to be enjoyed. XD I also did a lot more fursuiting and met some awesome people. I wanted to extend a sincere apology to those who were expecting it to be in a suite, and for alcohol to be served. Plans... had to be changed.
The rest of the con was a total blur, but here are some highlights: I actually suited on Sunday for a grand total of six hours, which is longer than I'd ever done before. I felt accomplished that I'd done it, and I hope to use this as a stepping stone to suit for even longer. Water was very much my friend during this, as was the headless lounge. While I was there I tried to find fursuit tag #196... Espeon's Pokedex number. Never did end up finding it but maybe it'll turn up some day.
Saturday night, there was a lot of Digimon, Flareon cuddles, and hilarious YouTube videos. Sunday brought more of the same, but with Deretto and Alvcard hanging out too.
OH MY GOD WE SET A GUINESS WORLD RECORD YOU GUYS. <3 1300 fucking fursuits. That's crazy awesome!
This journal will probably be edited more as I think of more stuff to add, but goddamn, AC this year was awesome. There's a small possibility I can return next year, but I wouldn't count on it happening. It was awesome but crazy fucking expensive.

Relationship Status

I imagine every single one of you that reads that will lunge to give me sympathy. I understand and I love you guys for that. But the truth is... this really doesn't change much. Both Taze and I knew this was coming but refused to accept it for a long time.
Taze and I first became a couple in October 08. Our relationship has lasted almost 5 years. In that time, we've both grown from extremely self conscious people who lacked confidence entirely into... almost completely different people. We both understand what we want and need in a partner now. Most importantly, we've recognized that, ultimately, we work better as best friends than a couple.
I've come to the conclusion that I'm not the type of person who can sanely be in a relationship. I have trust issues, severe paranoia, and extreme control issues, and will probably end up hurting anyone who calls me their mate. All of these issues contributed to near constant fighting between Taze and I, and ultimately drove a wedge between us.
Nothing drastic is changing. Taze will still live here, he'll help me out when I need it and we'll still likely share a bed... just as friends. We haven't been a couple for a long time and it wasn't until tonight that Taze forced me to confront this issue and, ultimately, accept it.
We're still going to do everything we used to, but just not call each other mates any more. He's still my friend, and I'm a friend to him, and like I said, we knew this was coming but didn't want to accept it.
In the end, we will both be better for it.
To all my friends that stuck with me through all the drama and fighting, thank you. I know it wasn't easy for you guys, and I deeply appreciate it. Those of you who are still around are true friends, and I don't expect any special treatment going forward because this happened.
