Feel Good In Bad Lighting
Posted 15 years agoDear Journal
Today is Saturday The 1st of May, I awoke a sat prefacing my blank television screen (yet did not watch). I came down to see who was proclaming such terrible stories, such aristorattle ingoure, about silly little things. It has become clear to me that in my time here I have learned an aful lot about the very worst and best of the furry world, in one I am glad to see that not only am I alone (I knew that before), I still even though comforted by text, i would rather meet alot of the nice people i meet, love to meet you all (that would be great in one sitting).
Today I decided to hell with my shyness of raw talent, I have gined so much confidence on my time here, but yet I would really like to say, for people who have left me recently, "so long and thanks for all the fish"
Despite all this I have climbed a few "mountains" (not really). In order overcoming some things this last week has been full of contraversy, and not only did I have to deal with someone. I had too much on my plate this week.
But I asked myself what must I do, I will create a v-line, on youtube, a v-line, is a series of video lined to one group or to a fandom (etc etc.) The v-line will consist of me playing piano, v-logs (video blogs), and shout outs (why not?). This is because of the floating anvil that "I steal" from other sources,(well I will have to show you).
So hold onto that chair, lick a paw or two, I have to first deal with irl before i deal with you all on here, I just need a little time to get my laptop fixed my webcam working, somewhere quiet (yeah right?), and when all that is done.
To prove it is me:
1. A Sign Or Greeting From me To FA
2.Fa will be mentioned maybe several times in some videos.
3. People FA links will be put in description (with permission)
So i hope you all will watch the Furry V-Line
BruteBigbear is my youtube name, so thats "my two cents".

Work Is In The Way
Posted 15 years agoDue to unfortuneate circumstances, work has dropped this huge report on me to be finished by June 22nd 2010, I got most of it done on my first break, but miss you all so much while I am away, My internet also took a plunge there and now randomly or seldomly works i cut in and out, I been playing alot of piano recently mostly Gift works to important people' or people who have effected me, here on FA, or just for their support or just for being damn sexy (Like daddy) But Thats a different topic (hehe).
So I am sorry to tell you i might not be on as much as per usual so I say sorry to people who have left such wonderful comments, others I just wish you luck in your future path, Please wish me luck as i take on two projects at once, urrgh stress.
Project 1: College Work- Write A Book On The Synapse
Project 2: Work- Fill Out NOI (Neurologist's Of Ireland) Papers plus submit work done 09-10.
Why i am so worried is because 2000 job loses are predicted to happen in hospitals in this country, and yes of course I am the most worried, as a private health worker I took that risk, but now this is a bite in the ass, if I do i can go back to public, If i sound upnosed over it, it is probelly because I am sometimes.
So I apolgise, but Today. I felt like I caould rant.
Ps.
Daddy subbmitted the piece I did for him. *I nearly Cried*

Shutter Island Review
Posted 15 years agoThe film is another classic direction of Martin Scorsese, its a thrillng psycological horror,
The basic fact is Leonardo Di Caprio is our main man who is adventuring to an island which houses the crinimally insane, and he is one of the past Marshals of WWII his intervention with Mr Ben Kinglsy takes him on an impacted seat griping 2 and a half hours tail spinning haed tumbling ride throughout your watching.
The film no matter what is said will be a great test of rembering such things as flashbacks and other such things like words become crtical later on, try avoid a bathroom break, your 2 and half hours will litterly just fly by, and even missing one key moment could cost you trecking through mirky misty waters.
The insanity and unrealism of the films "Title shot" focuses on capturing us at the start its one quick caplocks in white writting to suspensful music, on a black backdrop, and as soon as it blisters your retinas with your eardrums you will litterialy be gripping your seat at every turn.
The film i rate a 4/5.
I think its overall presentation is what lacks here, although its orginaltiy ain't something new to us, with the direction and camera work we see it from competly oringal angles and shot points.
I would strongly advise you to go see the film and tell your friends about it, but I do warn you that your up for 2 hours of note taking if you can take your eyes of the notes that have been done.
Enjoy It

My Favorite Poem
Posted 15 years agoThe Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock *T.S Eloit*
Let us go then, you and I,
When the evening is spread out against the sky
Like a patient etherised upon a table;
Let us go, through certain half-deserted streets,
The muttering retreats
Of restless nights in one-night cheap hotels
And sawdust restaurants with oyster-shells:
Streets that follow like a tedious argument
Of insidious intent
To lead you to an overwhelming question …
Oh, do not ask, “What is it?”
Let us go and make our visit.
In the room the women come and go
Talking of Michelangelo.
The yellow fog that rubs its back upon the window-panes,
The yellow smoke that rubs its muzzle on the window-panes
Licked its tongue into the corners of the evening,
Lingered upon the pools that stand in drains,
Let fall upon its back the soot that falls from chimneys,
Slipped by the terrace, made a sudden leap,
And seeing that it was a soft October night,
Curled once about the house, and fell asleep.
And indeed there will be time
For the yellow smoke that slides along the street,
Rubbing its back upon the window-panes;
There will be time, there will be time
To prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet;
There will be time to murder and create,
And time for all the works and days of hands
That lift and drop a question on your plate;
Time for you and time for me,
And time yet for a hundred indecisions,
And for a hundred visions and revisions,
Before the taking of a toast and tea.
In the room the women come and go
Talking of Michelangelo.
And indeed there will be time
To wonder, “Do I dare?” and, “Do I dare?”
Time to turn back and descend the stair,
With a bald spot in the middle of my hair—
[They will say: “How his hair is growing thin!”]
My morning coat, my collar mounting firmly to the chin,
My necktie rich and modest, but asserted by a simple pin—
[They will say: “But how his arms and legs are thin!”]
Do I dare
Disturb the universe?
In a minute there is time
For decisions and revisions which a minute will reverse.
For I have known them all already, known them all:—
Have known the evenings, mornings, afternoons,
I have measured out my life with coffee spoons;
I know the voices dying with a dying fall
Beneath the music from a farther room.
So how should I presume?
And I have known the eyes already, known them all— 55
The eyes that fix you in a formulated phrase,
And when I am formulated, sprawling on a pin,
When I am pinned and wriggling on the wall,
Then how should I begin
To spit out all the butt-ends of my days and ways?
And how should I presume?
And I have known the arms already, known them all—
Arms that are braceleted and white and bare
[But in the lamplight, downed with light brown hair!]
It is perfume from a dress
That makes me so digress?
Arms that lie along a table, or wrap about a shawl.
And should I then presume?
And how should I begin?
. . . . .
Shall I say, I have gone at dusk through narrow streets
And watched the smoke that rises from the pipes
Of lonely men in shirt-sleeves, leaning out of windows?…
I should have been a pair of ragged claws
Scuttling across the floors of silent seas.
. . . . .
And the afternoon, the evening, sleeps so peacefully!
Smoothed by long fingers,
Asleep … tired … or it malingers,
Stretched on the floor, here beside you and me.
Should I, after tea and cakes and ices,
Have the strength to force the moment to its crisis?
But though I have wept and fasted, wept and prayed,
Though I have seen my head [grown slightly bald] brought in upon a platter,
I am no prophet—and here’s no great matter;
I have seen the moment of my greatness flicker,
And I have seen the eternal Footman hold my coat, and snicker,
And in short, I was afraid.
And would it have been worth it, after all,
After the cups, the marmalade, the tea,
Among the porcelain, among some talk of you and me,
Would it have been worth while,
To have bitten off the matter with a smile,
To have squeezed the universe into a ball
To roll it toward some overwhelming question,
To say: “I am Lazarus, come from the dead,
Come back to tell you all, I shall tell you all”—
If one, settling a pillow by her head,
Should say: “That is not what I meant at all.
That is not it, at all.”
And would it have been worth it, after all,
Would it have been worth while,
After the sunsets and the dooryards and the sprinkled streets,
After the novels, after the teacups, after the skirts that trail along the floor—
And this, and so much more?—
It is impossible to say just what I mean!
But as if a magic lantern threw the nerves in patterns on a screen: 105
Would it have been worth while
If one, settling a pillow or throwing off a shawl,
And turning toward the window, should say:
“That is not it at all,
That is not what I meant, at all.”
. . . . .
No! I am not Prince Hamlet, nor was meant to be;
Am an attendant lord, one that will do
To swell a progress, start a scene or two,
Advise the prince; no doubt, an easy tool,
Deferential, glad to be of use,
Politic, cautious, and meticulous;
Full of high sentence, but a bit obtuse;
At times, indeed, almost ridiculous—
Almost, at times, the Fool.
I grow old … I grow old …
I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled.
Shall I part my hair behind? Do I dare to eat a peach?
I shall wear white flannel trousers, and walk upon the beach.
I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each.
I do not think that they will sing to me.
I have seen them riding seaward on the waves
Combing the white hair of the waves blown back
When the wind blows the water white and black.
We have lingered in the chambers of the sea
By sea-girls wreathed with seaweed red and brown
Till human voices wake us, and we drown.
S’io credesse che mia risposta fosse

Posted 15 years agoThe development of writing does not repeat the developmental history of speaking. Written speech is a separate linguistic function, differing from oral speech in both structure and mode of functioning. Even its minimal development requires a high level of abstraction. It is speech in thought and image only, lacking the musical, expressive, intonational qualities of oral speech. In learning to write, the child must disengage himself from the sensory aspect of speech and replace words by images of words. Speech that is merely imagined and that requires symbolisation of the sound image in written signs (i.e., a second degree of symbolisation) naturally must be as much harder than oral speech for the child as algebra is harder than arithmetic. Our studies show that it is the abstract quality of written language that is the main stumbling block, not the underdevelopment of small muscles or any other mechanical obstacles.
Writing is also speech without an interlocutor, addressed to an absent or an imaginary person or to no one in particular – a situation new and strange to the child. Our studies show that he has little motivation to learn writing when we begin to teach it. He feels no need for it and has only a vague idea of its usefulness. In conversation, every sentence is prompted by a motive. Desire or need lead to a request, question to answer, bewilderment to explanation. The changing motives of the interlocutors determine at every moment the turn oral speech will take. It does not have to be consciously directed – the dynamic situation takes care of that. The motives for writing are more abstract, more intellectualised, further removed from immediate needs. In written speech, we are obliged to create the situation, to represent it to ourselves. This demands detachment from the actual situation.
Writing also requires deliberate analytical action on the part of the child. In speaking, he is hardly conscious of the sounds he pronounces and quite unconscious of the mental operations he performs. In writing, he must take cognisance of the sound structure of each word, dissect it, and reproduce it in alphabetical symbols, which he must have studied and memorised before. In the same deliberate way, he must put words in a certain sequence to form a sentence. Written language demands conscious work because its relationship to inner speech is different from that of oral speech: The latter precedes inner speech in the course of development, while written speech follows inner speech and presupposes its existence (the act of writing implying a translation from inner speech). But the grammar of thought is not the same in the two cases. One might even say that the syntax of inner speech is the exact opposite of the syntax of written speech, with oral speech standing in the middle.
Inner speech is condensed, abbreviated speech. Written speech is deployed to its fullest extent, more complete than oral speech. Inner speech is almost entirely predicative because the situation, the subject of thought, is always known to the thinker. Written speech, on the contrary, must explain the situation fully in order to be intelligible. The change from maximally compact inner speech to maximally detailed written speech requires what might be called deliberate semantics – deliberate structuring of the web of meaning.
All these traits of written speech explain why its development in the schoolchild falls far behind that of oral speech. The discrepancy is caused by the child’s proficiency in spontaneous, unconscious activity and his lack of skill in abstract, deliberate activity. As our studies showed, the psychological functions on which written speech is based, have not even begun to develop in the proper sense when instruction in writing starts. It must build on barely emerging, rudimentary processes.

Director J.J. Abrams Talks About 'Star Trek' (An Interview)
Posted 15 years agoMay 3 2009
J.J. Abrams isn't afraid of taking on existing film franchises. In 2006, Abrams was at the helm of Mission Impossible III, an action-heavy thriller starring Tom Cruise and Philip Seymour Hoffman. A couple of TV series and some producing projects later, he's the man in charge of breathing new life into the decades-old Star Trek franchise, a tough and risky assignment for any filmmaker. But Abrams knows his sci-fi and even though he confesses to not being a real Trekkie prior to this Star Trek movie, he understood what was needed to satisfy long-time fans of the series/films and newcomers to the franchise.
Hitting theaters on May 8th, Star Trek is one of the most anticipated films of 2009 and one with the most riding on its box office success. In a press conference in LA to support the film, Abrams talked about this new, reinvigorated Star Trek.
1) What is the possibility of a sequel to this film? Will you continue with the boldness of the first film?
J.J. Abrams: "Obviously, it was a dream to work with these guys and the whole cast and crew, and it would be incredible fun to get to do it again. It is also insanely presumptuous to assume that it will work when it’s out there, that people will like it, and that there will be a need for another one. If there is, the good news is that there’s a deal for the writers and a deal for the actors. It’s in place. We have not had one meeting. We have not had one discussion. There’s no outline. There’s no script. There’s nothing. We’re fishing for ideas."
2) In trying to reinvent something that people love so much, was there ever a moment where you thought, "Oh, my God, what am I doing?"
J.J. Abrams: "Yeah, there honestly were a few moments where I was looking at what we were doing from the outside in and just started sweating and was just terrified. You get so inside of it that you’re talking about these characters and these issues, and Romulans and Klingons, and the Starship. And then every once in a while, you’re on the set and you look at it from the outside and you’re like, 'This is ridiculous!' I had to literally psych myself back into the moment and say, 'This must be what Peter Jackson and George Lucas have gone through,' and I’d get focused again. But, because the script was so strong, because the characters were so good, and because the actors were so good, I felt like the risk of playing with something that is precious to many people was, to me, such a worthy risk. I felt like the result, if we did our job, could be a really fun movie and could introduce to so many people who had never seen it or thought it wasn’t for them or had never even heard of it, these characters who are so wonderful and the actors were so great."
3) Was there a point in the casting where you were worried that you'd never find the right actors?
J.J. Abrams: "Casting the movie was a huge challenge and we were incredibly lucky to find these actors. April Webster and Alyssa Weisberg, who are our casting directors, are terrific. But I’ve never had to cast something that had something that pre-existed it, where the actors have to take over these iconic roles. The key to each of these actors, and the one or two similarities, is that beyond just being incredibly talented, they’re all funny. They all have a great sense of humor, and that was incredibly important because I knew Star Trek had been parodied so many times that it had to be funny from the inside out."
4) Why did you decide not to put William Shatner into the film?
J.J. Abrams: "Nothing would have made us happier than to have William Shatner in this movie. His character died on screen in one of the films. When we tried figure out a way to put him in, every time we did it, it was a gimmick. Every time we figured out a way that we thought it could work, it ended up being a gimmick unless the whole story was about bringing him back, and that would have changed the entire story that we wanted to tell. So, it was either change everything or do it without him. But, we definitely love Mr. Shatner. Working with him is something that we would obviously be thrilled to do, and wanted to do. It just literally didn’t work for our story and he didn’t want to just do a cameo. We could have done a flashback, but he didn’t want to do that. And, if we had reinvented everything, it would have just been crazy."
"The YouTube thing happened because I was interviewed about it and I said, which was true, that we tried many different ways to get him in the movie and it just didn’t work. I guess he heard it and thought that they were saying that we had tried to get him in, and called him and were making efforts, so he did this video saying, 'You didn’t call me.' So, then I had to respond to that and say, 'No, no, no, I don’t mean we called you. We were trying, internally, to tell a story that was worthy of you and worthy of the audience.' There was no way to do it and have it not be a cameo, so it didn’t work in this one. But, all is good."
5) What made you decide to bring Winona Ryder into the Star Trek fold?
J.J. Abrams: "I’d always been a fan of Winona’s. One of the models that we had for this movie was Superman, the Dick Donner film. The way that he cast that film, all the lead roles were essentially unknowns and many of the supporting roles were people that you had seen before and knew, to some degree, and obviously, with Marlon Brando, knew very well. I just thought it would be nice, given that we had a cast that was, for the most part, unknowns that we give roles that we could to actors that were known. Eric Bana is essentially hidden in disguise in this movie. You can’t really recognize him. For the role of Amanda, to get Winona Ryder was just one of those things where I thought it would be great to have an actress who people would recognize and, hopefully, not get pulled out of the movie, but feel like there was some support for the younger, fresher faces."
6) What is going to be on the DVD and Blu-ray? Are there extra scenes?
J.J. Abrams: "We shot a few extra scenes. I hate to do this because whenever you cut a scene, all you’re thinking of is how that time could have been used to make other scenes better. But, of course, the day you’re shooting it you’d kill someone if they said, 'This scene won’t end up in the movie.' You’re like, 'That’s not true! This is critical.' But, there’s a scene with the stepfather and young Kirk, there’s a scene of Nero in prison, and there’s a scene of young Spock as a baby, having just been born. There are a couple extra scenes and they’re all scenes that would have been fun to have in the movie, but some things, like the prison sequence, just confounded the audience. Every time we’d screen the movie for a group, that sequence threw them. Even though it had some of my favorite designs in the whole movie, with the wardrobe, the location and some of the visual effects. It was really fun. But, if it’s better without it, then cut it."
Obviously, our vision of the future differs from the original series’ vision of the future. What moments did you decide to keep and how did you decide to update it?
J.J. Abrams: "It was a weird conundrum to do a movie with a vision of the future from today, based on a vision of the future from 50 years ago. But, there were certain things that we all decided we wanted to maintain. As someone who was not a huge Trek fan to begin with, I had my instincts about things that I thought were important. But really Bob Orci, Alex Kurtzman, Bryan Burk and Damon Lindelof were much bigger Star Trek fans than I was and they knew that there were things that needed to be maintained and details I never would have even been able to speak to. I just knew that the shape and silhouette of the Enterprise needed to be maintained. You don’t want to change everything. If you’re a fan, you go, 'Oh, wow, it’s different,' but the casual fan or the non-fan will just say, 'Oh, wow, it’s a cool design.' That was important. The prism through which everything had to be seen through was, 'How do you take the spirit of what was created nearly half a century ago, whether it’s character, prop design, ship design, the world of it or anything, and make it feel relevant for today?,' and that was just a billion small decisions."
Why did you decide to use lens flares?
J.J. Abrams: "I went insane with lens flares, but it was one of those things where I felt like I wanted the movie to have a visual system that felt unique. I know there are certain shots where even I watch it and think, 'Oh, that was ridiculous. That was too many.' But, I love the idea that the future was so bright it couldn’t be contained in the frame. The flares weren’t just flares that were happening from on-camera light sources, but they were happening off camera, and that was really the key to it. I wanted that sense that, just off camera, something spectacular was happening and there was always this sense of something. Also, there’s a really cool, organic layer there."
"They were all done live, in camera. They weren’t added later. There’s something about those flares, especially in a movie that potentially could be incredibly sterile and CG and overly controlled. There’s just something incredibly unpredictable and gorgeous about them. It was a really fun thing. Our D.P. would be off camera with this incredibly powerful flashlight, aiming it at the lens. It became an art because different lenses require different angles and different proximity to the lens. Sometimes when we were outside, we would use mirrors, and a certain size mirror would be too big. It was ridiculous! It was like another actor in the scene. We started calling it Best in Show because it was like a spotlight. We’d be doing a scene and I’d look over at Dan Mindel, the D.P., and he’d look at me and be like, 'Best in Show?,' and I’d be like, 'Best in Show.' We had two cameras so sometimes we had two different flashlight operators and when there was atmosphere in the room, you had to be really careful because you could see the beams. It was this ridiculous, added level of pain in the ass, but the final effect, to me, was a fun, additional touch that while overdone in some places, felt like the future is that bright."
You did a great job of keeping everything under wraps. Were you worried about any leaks?
J.J. Abrams: "I’m the most paranoid one so I was like, 'Yes, we must have a military operation.' The hardest part is with the crew because when you’re shooting the movie, you want everyone to be on the same page and know exactly what’s going on and, on this movie, we could not give the script out. People had to come in and read it in a place where there was someone watching them read it. It was preposterous. And so when people needed information, they’d have to go to the script supervisor who had the script. No one else had the script, and it did not get leaked. There were people who posted online, 'We’re going to get the script and review it,' so we were like, 'Okay, we’re not going to let you get it.'”
Where did you get the idea to end the film with that music and the dedication to Gene & Majel Roddenberry?
J.J. Abrams: "From the very beginning I felt like the Alexander Courage theme music was something that was so celebratory that it just felt like the movie finally earns it, at the end. Until the family is the family, you can’t really play that music. If it worked, you’d forget about that and you wouldn’t be thinking about it. And then when the family comes together and the ship begins the five-year mission, it felt like the perfect icing on the cake."
"And the dedication was always intended for Gene because none of us would be here doing any of this, if it weren’t for what he created. Sadly, when Majel passed away, we added her name to the card. We already had the card for Gene, so we added her name as well."
It’s very impressive how the cast captures the essence of the characters without doing caricatures. Did you have to watch out for that?
J.J. Abrams: "The script was so good that all you needed to do was give these actors, who were young actors that were eerily accomplished and naturally wonderful, direction that was fairly clear because the characters were written so clearly. What was cool was that it didn’t take much machination, even in the writing of the script, because the characters live. You read the script and you go, 'Oh, these are those characters.' As someone who was not a big fan, of course I did my homework before directing and when I read the script, it’s not like these are scene and moments cut from other episodes or movies, but you felt them live and they were recognizable. You could read a line and go, 'Oh, that’s Bones.' You’d just know it was Bones. It really speaks to the great paradigm that Roddenberry created in ‘66. These characters were so strong. They were archetypes, but they were also very specific. They weren’t just archetypical. So, that was great. And I said to all the actors, 'Please do not do impersonations of any of these actors. This is all about you owning it, and the only way it’s gonna to work is if you are free to do your thing.' But, the perimeters were so clearly defined in Alex and Bob’s script that it wasn’t like you had to push them to be more like those actors. We just did what was on the page."
With all of the action sequences, what was the most difficult to film?
J.J. Abrams: "The most difficult to film, in some ways, was the space jump sequence and the drill. But, every sequence had its issues. The whole snow sequence with the monsters was crazy because of all the paper snow. We shot both of those things at Dodgers Stadium, in the parking lot, and it was insane. With all the stuff on the bad guy’s ship, there were challenges there because there was one set, even though it looks like all of these different areas. It was this modular set, brilliantly designed by Scott Chambliss, to move around, so we basically would take the set and move these enormous pieces overnight to take that one place and make it another place. And then, using ILM, they would help and add backgrounds and extensions to those sets. So shooting on that location, it wasn’t the location. It was this crazy, malleable set where you had to understand what the set was supposed to be that day. It’s all the same room, and yet you have to make it feel like it’s this massive location. So, every scene had its own weird, often mechanical, challenges. But the space jump was the most obvious because it was the longest."
He was one of the most educated men to have been plesured to interview.

A Review
Posted 15 years agoNovember 14, 2000 - Anyone here old enough to remember when a cat and mouse duo by the name of Tom and Jerry ruled the airwaves every Saturday morning? How could you forget, right? These guys practically raised us all into the strange and demented hairballs we are today from watching the pair wreak havoc episode after silly episode. How can one cat continually be so angry at such a sweet and innocent natured mouse as Jerry? Well, the fact that Jerry would usually pluck his whiskers and set his tail on fire probably didn't help.
But now we can finally live out our childhood fantasies of smacking Tom right in the kisser with a frying pan, thanks to developer VIS Entertainment and publisher NewKidCo. The companies have teamed up to bring Tom and Jerry: Fists of Furry to the N64, and just in time for the holiday sales season no less.
Chances are good that if you know nothing about this title already, you're probably expecting a 3D platforming game where Jerry must rescue his favorite piece of cheese from the clutches of the evil Tom while dodging sledgehammers and mousetraps the whole way. Well, fortunately VIS Entertainment decided not to go the standard cartoon license route with Tom and Jerry, and instead have delivered a wacky fighting title that most gamers will compare to Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. and Capcom's Power Stone for Dreamcast. It goes without saying that this latest addition to the action-fighting genre doesn't pass the mark left by Mario and gang on the system, but is it worth a look anyway? Here's what we think of Tom and the gang.
The Facts
* One or two players simultaneous
* Action-packed fighting gameplay
* Eight selectable characters, including all your favorites from the classic cartoon series such as Tom, Jerry, that one junkyard bulldog, and, umm, all the others guys
* Ten interactive stages to compete, each modeled after the original cartoons
* Unique weapons and hazards on each stage
* Rumble Pak Support
* Progress data saved via built-in EEPROM
Gameplay
There's a very good reason why Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. continues to drain massive quantities of power from homes all over the world: fast and perfectly balanced gameplay. So if a game were to be compared in any way, shape, or form to this system favorite, it would be a very favorable feather in its cap indeed. Fortunately for Tom and Jerry: Fists of Furry, that's exactly what happens the moment you grab a controller and start running around the room in circles. The game will remind you instantly of the Nintendo fighter classic, and the differences will also become apparent soon enough.
While SSB was primarily 2D gameplay, Tom and Jerry are free to run around in all three dimensions to both dodge attacks and return fire. Each battle "arena" is roughly square in shape, with boundaries on all four sides keeping you from wandering off. The game is organized much in the standard fighter scheme, where fights typically consist of a best-two-out-of-three approach. The default timer of 120 seconds keeps fights to a nice length, but these settings can all be adjusted to your liking, as some may prefer not to have a time limit at all.
Round One. Ready? Go! Players will instantly start scrambling about their environment, grabbing anything they can get their paws on to chuck across the screen at their opponent. Such objects will vary from level to level depending on the type of setting you are located. For example, here are a few of the stages and the interactive items you will find to use to your advantage -- and to be used against you as well.
* Catchin' in the Kitchen: A fully rendered household kitchen, complete with working fridge, sink, and dangerously hot stovetop. Items include: watermelon, rolling pins, frying pans, oven fire, and eggs.
* Bomb Voyage: The deck of a sailing cruise ship. Items include: deck chairs, bombs, wine bottles, life preservers, fish, and a bell.
* The Mice Before Christmas: A calm, cozy living room decorated in standard holiday season fashion -- Christmas tree and all. Items include: presents, candy canes, stick horses, roasted turkeys, and a flame-spewing fireplace.
* Laboratory Receiver: A typical cartoon dungeon laboratory, fully equipped with all the necessary machinery for monster experimentation. Items include: acid flasks, skulls, lightning rods, and a shocking electric generator.
All items are grabbed with a simple pull of the Z button (or any of the C buttons) and are then thrown directly at the enemy with a simple press of the B button. This button also servers as your melee punch button, the A button jumps, and the R button will allow you to duck under incoming objects. Unfortunately there's really not much else to learn here. The game definitely does not offer the same brilliant control found in SSB. It is simple and effective, but weathered fans of the Nintendo fighter might become bored after a short while.
Along with various items, players will also snag power-ups from the golden question marks that randomly show up. These random gifts are actually balanced rather nicely. For example, one power-up will render the player invulnerable to all items, but not to punches or environmental dangers. Another will plague you with a green gas cloud that can be passed off to the other player when touched. These random elements help keep the gameplay unique as you smack around the other rodent, but could really use a bit more variety than just the same four or so surprises over and over.
Overall the gameplay keeps things moving fairly quickly, with an average framerate and satisfying onscreen action. But the lack of depth is what will keep this title as an average action game.
Graphics
The visual style in Tom and Jerry is right on par with the cartoon series of the same name, but honestly are not nearly as pretty as they could have been. While the characters are all modeled nicely and animated in great comic fun, the environments could use some work in places. Whatever you do, don't examine the previously mentioned Christmas tree too closely, or you'll swear you're going blind. Some texture use is just a bit too blurry in spots, and it's noticeable.
Otherwise the colors are bright and most objects are visibly recognizable in their 3D form. Considering the relatively few environments featured in the game compared to other titles on the system, we really expected a bit more of a polished look from the final version of this title. Nothing in the game is terribly beautiful really, but everything serves its purpose and fans of the show will be able to enjoy the title regardless of such graphical blemishes.
Sound
The audio department is pretty much right on par with the visuals of the game -- nothing special, but it works. The sound effects feature continuous "biffs," "bams," "squeaks," and "splats" as players bounce around the arena, and it suits the action well with little repetition. Most environments even feature background sounds such as ocean waves crashing against the boat, or a grandfather clock ticking. Nothing too fancy, but it works.
The music department is also a mixed bag, featuring very nice MIDI samples for instruments, but tracks that can get repetitive in a hurry. The ragtime tunes are a good fit to the crazy cartoon action, but after a good bit of gameplay your ears can begin to crave something new.
Closing Comments
This is one of those games that would have been much more well-received had it hit the Nintendo 64 a few years earlier -- back when it hadn't already been done...and done better at that. Some moments of gameplay can be quite amusing -- even laugh-out loud funny as you smack that poor mouse with a frying pan or watch Tom grab his butt and run around on fire. But in the end the title just falls flat and fails to keep you hungry for more.
While Tom and Jerry: Fists of Furry does add a few new twists to the previous fighting efforts on the system, it just doesn't shine strong enough in any one area to be considered a "must-own" title. Fans of both the classic cartoon series and Super Smash Bros. should definitely consider it for a weekend rental when Mario and the gang are too pooped to fight it out. Otherwise, just stick with the Cartoon Network.

By now you have your lifestyle evaluation done and your measurements taken. If not stop reading. Go and do it right now. Remember it's the actions we take that produce the results, not what we know. So if you haven't please go do it.
Ok so we are all back. Now we should all have a pretty accurate picture of where we are. Don't worry if it seems grim or makes for bad reading. Everything is darkest just before the dawn.
Now we know where we are, we have got to figure out where we want to be.
Why is this?
When I ask the question what way do you want to be, people can often be very specific about the weight they want to lose or the end weight they want to be. But when I ask why? I often get a disbelieving look and vague answers like, well I would look better, I would be fitter and I would be healthier. They are all true, but they are often a layer away from the real emotional reasons.
I mean what's the image you see when you see yourself being in your perfect shape. Is it sitting on the couch in perfect shape watching TV, alone? I doubt it. What is it that you will really enjoy, will really give you that buzz. It could be having the energy to take the kids to the park and to be able to run with them with no limits on your energy, to be a part of their game or maybe to get into that little black dress, to know it fits and to know you look good. Maybe it's the rush of that feeling when you enter the room and people notice how well you're looking. It's different for everyone and there's no right or wrong, just personal triggers. And these are what your real goals are. Try to see them and define them as clearly and as honestly as you can.
Now knowing the above I would like you to write down in a journal, three weight loss goals that truly inspire you. Try to be as specific as you can and leave some writing space between goals.
Now write down a realistic time frame to achieve them
Now under each goal I want you to write how you would feel if you got them. Just let it flow
I want you to look at these three goals everyday for the next 10 weeks preferably in the morning and I want you to ask yourself the question what actions can I take today to move me closer to achieving my goals.
You see reasons come first, answers come after.
Now go take action and enjoy the trip!

Any Fursuit Makers?
Posted 15 years agoHey I have to look out for investing in fursuits but its not that I get a lot of time to do so, at this moment, if their is any willing fursuit makers out their to do an art trade with me, as a part of trying to do so at this present time all has gone off track so.
I find myself lost or either majorly confussed with time as my biggest issue, for those who are willing i will gift to them an elite series of music, of 8 pieces and i would greatly urge them along the market as a product displayer, for conventions in my near future.
Or do you have an old suit you just dont use? That person will be greatly appeciated amungst me, I would be in most honourable conjunction with him/her if they decide so the main question is.
Are you willing?

Wants To Play At Con. And My Fursona
Posted 16 years agoDear All Con Hosts/Hostess
I am wondering if I could play at a convention, it would be a real wonder to be invited as a pianist to come play live in front of furries and I would gladly be willing to accept your invitation.it would also intrive me to know how the fur world fells about my styles and so on.
It is of my highest honor to wish Markus O Mally, farewell he is heading back to london after the 18th of this month, Markus will be attending AC this year, and so I hope to join him also, it is highly unlikely that even though closer to me as it may seem falls on the very unlucky dates, but confuzzled is a definate maybe at this point in time.
It is also an honor to Wish Harmony Reymonan for qualifying in American Idol, Harmony and I used to be great friend until her parents moved to California 3 years ago. Harmony and her voice was heard by a second lifer Gredian Fretter, he found her singing life and asked her if she thought of the talent show, All the best in hollywood Harmony.
And now its time to hear about current dates some from the orignal journal have changed due to delays, weather and minor cancellations. But all is well this month is going well. I feel The Holden Club in county Dublin has become my sancuary and I can be found playing life their at current dates set by the club, its set in Temple Bar, which all tourist will know is Ireland, Diublin's " Culture Capital" and i can be hear on lyric fm and 106.4 radio stations sometimes playing some famous pieces.

Posted 16 years agohttp://www.livestream.com/sparklemotion
I watched the talented artist Sparkle Motion on his live feed, To show my commitment, And boy I am very impressed with how he ppresents himself, But still my gawd I was definatly impressed with more than just art and his own presentation, but his talents outside that, and he was very impressed with my qutea, Oh yes he was and his lovely bolt doll that he bought was also giving his own fillementations.

It is of my own regard that you all should watch his live stream, if or when you can, I am strting my first ever boardcasted live opus sonata for him, which in turn i hope he likes, as a part of art trade, to go live in a few days,if you have keen interests in my music I know have confirmed dates till march so if I am needed hopefully to play at a con just contact me, or if you know any body in charge,I am in your hands to get in and play live, which I am honoured to do.

Am I a guy or a girl
Posted 16 years agoDon't give up on your heart. If you do, it will give up on you. So use it, follow it, and keep it. Let the love others have for you flow into your heart and make sure you lock them up tight. Now, no matter what happens, parts of your loved ones will always be with you. Friends, Family, it doesn't matter. As long as you love them back, you will become a smarter, stronger, and happier person each day. Don't forget to pass on that love, though!" Stolen from patchii

Thats right watch out London England, Brute Hanson is on his way. Playing at the Queens Ball 14th Feburary 2010. Things look good, Like to say it has been a much better year so far. I will hope to play at a convention sometime, but for now this oppurtunity has arose and I will be glad to bring back with me the works I will play, I am so greatful for this honour.

It is not enough to say you’re sorry.
Or show me how much you care.
It not enough to say you worry.
Or if you, even try to catch a hare.
It’s not enough to say you’re sad.
Or show me you have a bag
It’s not enough to just be mad.
When waving the American flag.
It’s not enough to draw or write
Or show me you can dance in fur.
It’s not enough to take a flight.
When all you want is her.
So wave the stars, and the golden flag.
Just remember that you should not brag

Merry Christmas
Posted 16 years agoTo all of you i wish a good long day.
Singing songs beneth L.E.D Lights.
Singind away to your hearts content, just today.
Sharing laughing singing bright.
Hear it to the season, that we feared would come.
All of us drink the day away and the night long.
All the worls as one, tis one moment, we have some.
Fun joy, happy heads. of the caroling song.
Hearth to the world that all will run and play.
Buliding snowmen tall and fat. White and carrot'd nosed.
A wave of smiles fills the day.
And in the angst of every teen, a single rosed.
Oh may your day be merry and bright.
Hear the singers of the street.
Standing at door to door, with a single candle light.
And in their warmth, and in the heet.
Singing the robin, hear it tweet, like a song.
Pedals dash, roads filled with nothing at all.
Children awaiting to have the tree glisten, to sing alongs.
And DVD's many awatched, to await the dreaded call.
Of every neighbour, far to wide, sitting by your side.
Laughing joking to stupid cracker puns.
Less not the eve that awaits it, not amoment in tide.
In all of this I wish you the sun's.
It is to come again soon, to break the spring break.
A cup of mocha du lait, or whatever it is.
A small smile a least a grin to take.
With camera's left and right, it tis.
The season to remember a season of hopeth a joy.
Can it be its Christmas once more?
With no time left lets count down the ploy.
Tick tock the granfather clock, in the yore.
It ringest, it singest, it does its rhyme.
A small glass of brandy.
Topped with the fragent mulled wine.
And to think i might get randy.
I laugh to dread the day after that, a memory to be.
Traped forever in 2x2 frames of wood, and glass.
Glasses of sprits and coke, to the remenses the glee.
A single chardonay in the hightop glass.
Here it is coming now, the chilren await and sleep.
As the adults with empty pocket, won't weep.
I wish you and yours the very happyest and merriest christmas, may the day be long and filled with joy.
All of this I know you will have.
Merry Christmas.
Yours Happily
