Happy Holidays!
Posted 8 years ago Hey guys!
Just peeking in to wish you all a very merry Christmas and all the best for a happy and successful 2017! It's been a fun gong show these past few months but I do hope to get things in hand and start posting a bit more frequently, including some more fiction. We'll see how it goes.
In the meantime ROGUE ONE HOLY JUMPIN' JEDI. What an amazing flick that was. A really engagin piece of military SF set in the Star Wars universe. If that's any indicator of the calbiber of the Star Wars anthology films consider me one seriously happy camper.
I need to get going but all my best to you and yours over the season. I'll see about sneaking in for New Year's and doing some kind of Rockin' Eve top ten list or the like. Until then, take care!

Ask Me Anything/Flash-Fics.
Posted 9 years ago Hey guys,
So here's the thing: I suffer from acute Writer's Block. It absolutely sucks, and I want to shake it loose. So I've decided to turn to my friends and neighbors here on FA to help out. So what I'd like to do is establish a weekly/biweekly AMA/Flash Fic event. I'll yield the floor to questions (IC only please, I like my RL privacy), and the most interesting ones may spin into a little scene or two piece of flash fiction! Sound alluring? Let me know! We'll start this week, and then see how it goes from there.
~Ecksu
Ps. LUKE CAGE OMG!
Pps. MISS FISHER'S MURDER MYSTERIES FTW! (What? I have diverse tastes. ;p)

TellTale Games.
Posted 10 years ago I am about as far from the bleeding edge of gaming as you can get, but I have to say the TellTale catalog of games has been nothing short of amazing. GAME OF THRONES, THE WOLF AMONG US, and THE WALKING DEAD have become my new obsessions. Being a big Choose Your Own Adventure geek from back in the day, these games are like coming home. The replay value has me taking multiple passes as I explore other choices, and the voice acting is pretty damn great across the board. If you haven't had a chance to try these games (on PC, PS3 or Xbox) I'd recommend giving them a try.
And now there's a BORDERLANDS title? Hoo boy. x.x

Checking in OR Talk nerdy to me!
Posted 11 years ago All right, so if there's one thing that I've learned over my tenure on FA it's that I absolutely -SUCK- at keeping a journal. I think I may have outgrown it. I remember updating my livejournal somewhat more regularly, but memory is a fickle mistress. You can never fully trust it.
Anyway, I just thought I'd say hello and let you all know that yes, I am alive. Yes, I have gotten your messages. And yes, I will answer them. . .eventually. For a fluidic fur I can be surprisingly glacial at times, sorry.
While things have been crazy busy they've also been a lot of fun. I attended the Star Trek Las Vegas convention, which was a lot of fun. I saw GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and absolutely -loved- it. The Marvel movies coming out in the next few years have my moviegoing schedule sewn up, that's for darned sure.
Speaking of movies, I thought DRACULA UNTOLD was a lot of fun. I hope it does for the universal monsters what Iron Man did for the Marvel films. I just caught JOHN WICK and -oh man- is that ever a fun flick. Seriously, if you haven't seen it yet, go now. Trust me, it's a blast. And Keanu. . .wow. He actually -acts- in this movie, and it's pretty amazing. I see him becoming the new face of veteran badass. It's a nice throwback to VHS action movie rentals. Check it out.
Also, guess who's got two tendrils and signed up on Fur-List chat! THIS GOO! Check out my

I find these days I'm there more and on Taps or AIM less and less, so if you want to swing by, feel free. I'm always up for a chat. Way too many things to geek out on, and it's always nice to share opinions with friends.
Good talking to you as always. Take care!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Posted 11 years ago Hi all!
Yeah, I've gone into Silent Running again for the holidays but I plan to be back for the new year. Got a couple story ideas percolating and I hope to have them written during first quarter 2014.
I hope everyone is well and that the holidays find you safe, happy and healthy. Eat lots, nap often, and give those you love a call or a hug. See you later!

Ecksu's Into 1: Fusion Fun OR Let's Get Together!
Posted 12 years ago So I received a rather interesting piece of mail in my inbox the other day from a party whose FA handle I won't reveal (as they did the same courtesy for me in their video, so fair is fair) talking about slimes and the interest some fans have in seeing slimes (particularly slimegirls) blend and meld into single beings and/or inanimate objects. The gentleman in question--let's call him Bill for lack of a better name--was very interested in slimes and the potential fun that can be had from merging. It was an interesting video and it got me thinking that perhaps a statement or two on what I'm interested in (be it in art or prose) when it comes to slimes might be worth a word or two.
Now I'm interested in a little bit of everything, save for excessive pain, bodily excretions, or age-play, but slimes have always been of interest to me. I think I first began to develop an interest when I encountered a series called the Barbapapas. It was a kids show about these shape-shifting beings that could morph into just about anything. Even way back then I knew I found this sort of thing. . .intriguing. As I grew older I encountered series like Mighty Orbots and then comic book characters like DC Comics' the Metal Men and my childhood interest changed into something else entirely.
Slime(or fluidic as I like to call it) play is a turn-on for me. It's not always the first thing I reach for from the Fantasy File, but I do get off on seeing it done and done well. And there are a number of artists here whose pages I frequent because they're A) supremely talented and B) can zero in on my kinks like a frickin' heat-seeking missile. Merging is a big turn-on too.
It can be really awkward to talk about what turns a person on, especially yourself. But for me I think it has to do with the subsumption of identity, of individuals losing their cohesion and becoming part of the greater whole. My friends on the Tapestries MUCK are well aware of Ecksu's long-term goal to eventually get a bunch of her gooey pals together and have them blend into a single, hulking male figure to uh. . .totally share time with intellectually. Yeah. That's it. -.-; All the while each partner becomes a limb or torso or head or. . .hominahomina(yeah, cock-TF is a big kink too). I like it, it turns me on. What can I say? I'm weird. But in all seriousness, compared to some other fetishes out there, is mine really so bad? It's weird, but harmless fun.
So yes, for the curious I -am- into Fusion. It's a lot of fun, and it's a topic that might very well make it into my short fiction at some point. I respect Bill's passion in wanting to bring his interest to the attention of the talented creators on this site (and me). But by that same token an artist has to follow their interests and keep to their own schedules and commission slots, so there may not always be time or opportunity to explore such ideas. I myself have made a suggestion here and there, but I'm fully cognizant that I'm not paying for this person's time and creative effort, so while I might suggest, it's only that. Unless I'm going to put cash money on the table, I respect a creator's right to their time and talent on their terms. It's all about fun, this is true, but it's also a bit about respecting that we can't all get to ride all the rides at Disneyland. Sometimes you've got to save Space Mountain for tomorrow, you know?
Anyway, this is the first installment of Ecksu's Into, where I'll discuss my interests, both sexual and general, pop culture and all points in between. If you'd like to suggest a topic for the docket, feel free. I hope this ramble made some sense and I hope Bill will take it in the spirit of friendship and camaraderie it was intended. Like what you like! It's all love. ^.^

The Wolverine.
Posted 12 years ago Quickie review: It's good. Really good in fact. Don't let the stink of the previous film turn you off to this well-done standalone flick. It not only tells a fun story that highlights the character of Wolverine and gives him his badassery back, it also sets things up rather nicely for the next X-Men movie. Yeah, it's a bit of a bummer we'll never get that massive X-Men/Avengers crossover film while Fox has the rights to the franchise but it's nice to see one of the earliest facets of the Marvel universe on film get a bit more of it's street cred back in something that isn't a prequel. I say check it out.
Oh, and stay through the credits. There's a surprise that made me grin from ear to ear. ^.^

Posted 12 years ago Hi gang,
Work on the next Inkwell story is proceeding apace, just need a bit more time to get things in line and a nice chunk of writing/revising time over the weekend and I think we should be good to go. All due apologies for not being more active in my journalings but this past little while has been boo-lally crazy in terms of time management. Hope you're all well and that you find your way safely to that wonderful oasis known as the weekend.
Take care,

Ps. Fast 6 is -AWESOME-! So much fun!

Posted 12 years ago Working on my story featuring
kaihedgie's Furo, though I confess a slight bit of. . .um. . .distraction by Bioshock: Infinite. But never fear! I plan on having it up much sooner than five years from now, promise. ;p

Grrr. . .!
Posted 12 years ago So my laptop is showing it's age and after a crash SimpleMu won't load for me anymore. I've uninstalled it and I attempt to reinstall it but it keeps crapping out at checking for previous versions. Anyone else experience this? I haven't been able to get onto Taps to hang out in days and it's becoming quite irksome. >.<
THEN IT IS DECIDED!
Posted 12 years ago All right, after a serious pondering the next guest star in my series of Inkwell stories will be. . .*drum roll*. . .
kaihedgie's Furo!
Thanks to everyone who offered their lovely and unique characters, and I state again that while this story may not feature them the future is wide open for all sorts of fun shenanigans with gooey and non-gooey types alike! Watch this space, you never know when the call might go out again. ^.^

For My Next Trick, I Need a Volunteer. . .
Posted 12 years ago So I have an idea for the story I want to do next in the Inkwell series, and it's going to be goo on goo. Now, I could create a wholly original character, but I was curious if there's any interest out there amongst you folks with gelatinous characters in volunteering your character to be Ecks' playmate? You'd be listed as the owner of the character and get a shout-out in the Gallery much like
puppyice did. The story is taking shape and would probably be about 10-12 pages long, and about a week and change to complete (barring life or what have you).
This would be a story featuring naughtiness, so if you're a gooey in an otherwise committed relationship this may not be for you, but the door is open further down the road for more G/PG-rated shapeshifting fun further down the road. I find working in a friend helps immensely in keeping my writing focus on track. So if you'd like to volunteer, leave a comment and I'll give it some thought. If you're the lucky candidate, expect a private message! If you don't get picked, don't worry, you never know when the goobun might come calling. . .^.^

486? Nice!
Posted 12 years ago 486 views for 'Curiosity'! Not bad, not bad at all considering how out of the game I've been. For the curious I'm at work on another story that should prove a lot of fun, though the sexin' might take a bit of a backseat to comedy. We'll see how things turn out.
Thanks to everyone who posted on the story and shared feedback or just well-wishes. I often struggle with self-confidence/worth issue when it comes to my creative works so even the tiniest 'Hey, that was pretty good' works wonders for me.

The Bitter Tang of Disappointment - Aliens: Colonial Marines
Posted 12 years agoI'm a child of the '80s. I grew up during a period where science fiction, fantasy, and horror were just starting to form like Voltron into the box office slaughtering behemoth that is modern cinema. You have to understand that in this goobun's personal pantheon of motion pictures, a select few are a cut above even the most warmly regarded favorites of my heart. The holy trinity being, of course, The Last Starfighter, Ghostbusters, and Aliens.
Aliens was easily the first horror movie I ever saw as a a kid. It was on one of our local stations on a Saturday night, my friends and I got together for a sleepover and watched it with rapt eyes and imaginations that lit up like a hydrogen balloon poked by a lit match. It may have been the redubbed version (people can have alien monsters burst from their chests but don't say a swear!) but it included bits of business that I don't recall seeing again until I picked up the anniversary version of the film years later (Ripley's daughter, a bit more between the marines and Ripley in Hadley's Hope, etc).
It's all too easy to look at the franchise now and scoff a little at the impact the Xenomorphs had on popular culture, especially in the wake of sequel after disappointing sequel, but Alien and Aliens stand to me as two of the most note-perfect experiences of terror and horror respectively that I've ever had the pleasure of viewing. And then I heard a game was coming out.
Now, I may be that pitiful phenomena known far and wide as the Old Gamer, but I love playing a good video game from time to time. And in the wake of 2009's amazingly fun Ghostbusters game, I was absolutely stoked for A:CM. I'm not the biggest first-person shooter fan in the world, but if it could let me live my fantasy of being comparably badass to the marines from the film I'd be content. I went on full media blackout, intent on playing the game and living my nerd fantasy. The game had to be good, right?
It was not. To say the least.
I'll spare you the gory details (Angry Joe's review pretty much lays it out: http://youtu.be/UGX2WE4QUw8) but it's just so damned sad. All that potential, that promise from E3 footage and the demo and the teaser footage and it all just went to absolute crap. The game is visually appealing and the sound design is fun, but the AI is hooped in terms of allies and enemies. And while it is a cliche amongst my friends that Ecks Dies A Whole Awful Lot, when I can't even make it four feet without being jacked by an alien and my armor is paper mache at best? Yeah, my spirits fell within mere days of playing the game solo.
My advice would be to avoid if possible, maybe buy on the cheap if you absolutely, positively must have it. Me, I needed to watch the film again to wash the taste away. Fairly warned be ye, never let it be said I did nothing for ya.
Take care,
~Ecksu
HAPPY HOLIDAZE!
Posted 12 years ago Hi all,
Hope everyone is doing well on this festive Christmas Eve. Sorry I haven't posted as frequently, life has been pretty hectic these past few months and is only now starting to settle into a comfortable groove. My writing is very gradually picking up again, so hopefully we'll start seeing some more items appear on this page. It won't be as far off as BUCKAROO BANZAI VS. THE WORLD CRIME LEAGUE hopefully. Stay tuned!
Regardless, I hope the next few days see you all safe and happy and that the new year brings more of the same. Merry Christmas!
Sincerely,
~Ecksu

Me Par-tay.
Posted 13 years ago No rapture, no narcotic, no exquisite sin greater than just lazing about in bed, toasty warm beneath blankets on your day off. I have staked out my territory to the best of my ability; snacks and juice in easy reach, a pile of comics on the nightstand, TV at the ready, and absolutely, positively, no plans at all to leave my domicile for anything short of a zombie attack (and even then I've got the Zombie Survival Guide, so I could hole up for a few days more).
Seriously, I need more days like this in the worst way. My life in the Desert of the Real has gotten a bit busy. Good busy in some ways, but annoying busy in a few others. So today, I draw the line here. No further. I'm resting, relaxing, and having a complete and total Me Party.
Let's see what's on the To Read Pile: I got a copy of Tim Truman's HAWKWORLD mini-series from the expo the other day, which should make for intriguing reading. After that there's A Fistful O' Zombies, the Wild West sourcebook for Eden Studios' awesome All Flesh Must Be Eaten RPG. After that, I'll either start on another Louis L'Amour paperback or launch into Tales to Astonish: Jack Kirby, Stan Lee, and the American Comic Book Revolution by Ronin Ro (the guy's name is Ronin. How can it no be cool?). On the television/gaming side of things I've still got The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. to make my way through and there's always the pure joy that is Red Dead Redemption. Yeah, goobun's been on a bit of a Western kick, there's no denying. ;p
Anyway, I hope this last day of April finds you all well. You guys are awesome and deserve only the best. Now, if you'll excuse me I've got some quality lazing to get to. ;)
