Serious Sam Reference Material
General | Posted 2 years agoDue to it being a bit of a pain in the arse to find appropriate reference material for some of the Serious Sam creatures, I've been collecting my own via the Serious Editor tool. Though it isn't perfect, it gets the job done.
I'm thinking of posting said collected material here once I've finished. It'll cover ALL creatures from the classic games (First Encounter & Second Encounter) and, possibly in the future, the HD remakes of those games/Serious Sam 3's creatures.
I just wanted to try and remedy the lack of readily available/decent-quality reference material for some genuinely wonderful video game monsters.
Thoughts?

Time to Get Serious...
General | Posted 2 years agoAfter the next half of the Xenomorph gals are posted, along with some other works I'm rather excited to see finished; I'll be delving into the 'Serious Sam' games! I have a VERY rough outline for this project, and it'll focus heavily on the classic games rather than the newer releases, with a handful of exceptions.
Unlike my previous few projects, I intend to commission different artists for the various aliens, mostly to add some diversity to my gallery and to make each of the alien baddies more distinct. Due to this, it may also pan out to be a longer project, but that's neither here nor there.
Note that this project won't include ALL of the aliens, as there are tons of them, but it will cover most of the classic game's rosters, with some additions from newer titles. I'm still trying to figure out how to make the Kleer work lol.
But yeah, that's what I'll be working on after my current projects are finished.

They Mostly ‘Cum’ at Night...
General | Posted 2 years agoCrappy title pun aside, I'll have some smokin' xenomorphs to share soon!
I've also been putting some thought into future projects. I fully intend to get more Tyranid stuff, but I've also been thinking about delving into another series with plenty of lovely aliens just itching for some 'SERIOUS' attention.
We'll see what happens!
I also appreciate all the new watchers and favourites; it's nice to know that other people enjoy the art I commission!
That's all for now. Catch you later!

My Thoughts After Re-Watching the ALIEN Series.
General | Posted 2 years agoALIEN: Still a fantastic movie and one I find myself watching rather frequently. I love the gritty feel of the Nostromo and its crew, and it goes without saying that the design of the derelict craft and the alien itself (I kind of hate using the term xenomorph to refer to them) still hold up.
ALIENs: I enjoy ALIENs quite a bit, maybe a little more than the first. I like the setting of Hadley's Hope, the Marines, and the Queen alien's design is top-tier. I've recently started to listen to the novel adaptation of this movie. While it's made some weird choices, such as removing some harsh language, it's an interesting look into what ALIENs could've been in another universe.
ALIEN³: Alright, so I'm just going to say it, I enjoy this movie. I think it's mostly due to nostalgia, as this is a movie I saw when I was a tad too young to be watching such things. The convicts on the prison world being mostly British might add to my enjoyment, as I myself and from that miserable little island. I enjoy both the theatrical version and the assembly cut, and though I disagree with some choices made (no spoilers on the off-chance you've not seen it, but those who have can guess!) I think it's a good time.
ALIEN Resurrection: This is... well, a mess. I enjoy aspects of the movie, but it isn't one I find myself needing to re-watch as often as the others. I think the aliens look great though. They're all slimy with a cockroach-ish colour scheme, it's great.
Prometheus & Covenant: I like Prometheus as its own thing, but I really can't get behind Covenant. I also can't stand David, and not in a 'good' way. I think he's a silly character with silly motives that belongs in a sci-fi melodrama, not a horror movie about facing the unknown horrors of space. I think the Neomorphs look cool though.
So yeah, just my thoughts. I'm not a movie critic so I'm sorry if they come off as jumbled, I just wanted to share, you know?
Ciao.

Prognosis
General | Posted 2 years agoSeen the doc, and all is well. I'm always a tad paranoid about medical stuff, and my brain always jumps to worst-case scenarios whenever something unexpected happens, but there's nothing to worry about now.
Still, better safe than sorry! I'd rather go to the doctor and be told I'm fine rather than not go and end up with a real problem.
Health update aside, I have a new project in the works! Not Tyranids this time, though the newer creatures are on my list, but hopefully you'll enjoy it all the same!
Here's a not-so-subtle hint: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e33APFt-ft8&ab_channel=SinjinDjango
But yeah, just wanted to post an update.

I Thought You’d Decided on Your Next Large Project?
General | Posted 2 years agoSmall Update
General | Posted 2 years agoI've decided what my next large project will be, though it likely won't happen until next month, possibly the month after. I won't spoil the surprise, but I'm sure it won't be too hard to guess, given my track record, ha!
In the meantime, I plan to get some smaller self-indulgent pieces. One idea I've had that I'm quite keen on is a (slightly skimpy) grimdark Jessica Rabbit. It's a silly idea, but the best ideas often are! I'm leaning towards a commissar or rogue trader, but I may do what I did with my recent-ish Hollyhock commission and get a few separate pieces showcasing each outfit with some nudie/intersex alts. In the process of collecting some reference material and writing up the deets, so we'll see how it goes!
*Edit - I've also been toying with the idea of a grimdark Captain Amelia, been a hot minute since I got anything featuring her.
I'd also like to thank all my new watchers and those favouriting my stuff! I'm terrible at social things, but I do appreciate you taking an interest in the stuff I post here.
As an aside, I've been dealing with some hopefully minor medical stuff. I'll know for sure if it's something to be worried about later this month. Chances are it's a nothing burger and I'm just being my usual paranoid self, but it's better to be safe than sorry!
Anyway, that's all I've got for the moment.

My Next Project
General | Posted 2 years agoI have some ideas for my next project, but I also want to know what you lovely guys, gals, and other peeps would want to see. I'd not be able to pursue any of these until next month or possibly the month after, as I still have a few different things going on at the moment, but it never hurts to think ahead.
So, the ideas are as follows:
Idea A: A continuation of the recent Tyranid pics.
Idea B: A set of sexed-up 2nd edition Tyranid pics because those goofy designs are fantastic. At the moment, this is the idea I'm leaning towards pursuing.
Idea C: A set of sexed-up 10th edition Tyranid pics showcasing the NEW Tyraninds recently revealed by GW.
Idea D: More TimeSplitter stuff! Those games have a ton of fun designs.
As you can see, I've had freaky space bugs on the brain quite a bit, haha.
Anyway! Those are my three main ideas, but I'm also open to hearing your ideas!

Untapped Potential: TimeSplitters
General | Posted 2 years agoI've been on a TimeSplitters kick recently, and it amazes me that there isn't more artwork featuring the wealth of characters from those games. There are monsters, aliens, femme fatales, hunky studs, and robots! And that's without going into the stranger characters on offer.
TS1 Characters: 64
TS2 Characters: 126
TS3 Characters: 150
There's so much potential there, and it's a crying shame that there isn't more TS art online, lewd or otherwise. I may need to do something about this soon.
But yeah, I just wanted to share my thoughts! Maybe when the new TimeSplitter project that Free Radical is working on drops, we'll see a resurgence in TimeSplitters artwork, but I suppose we'll need to wait and see.
# If you've played the games, who is your favourite character? I like the Reaper Splitter myself!

New Watchers + Faves!
General | Posted 3 years agoI wanted to make this journal to inform new watchers and those who fave my stuff that I appreciate it! I'm not great at the social aspect of things on here, and I don't want you to think that I'm ignoring you or am ungrateful because I really do appreciate every new watch or fave that my work/profile gets. I hope you'll enjoy the stuff I post in the future!
Tyranids!
General | Posted 3 years agoI should have more Nids to post before Sunday, and I'm pretty excited to share them. SVJ has done an outstanding job!
Unrelated to Nids, I've also been watching some Star Trek Lower Decks, and it's honestly not as bad as peeps make it out to be. Worth giving a watch!

Regarding Kabrro - Update: Refunded
General | Posted 3 years agoEDIT: Since making this journal, I've been refunded, though given no explanation for the lack of communication. Again, I was never angry with Kabrro, and it's unfortunate that we couldn't deal with this situation privately. And ofc, please DO NOT harass Kabrro. I made this journal to share my experience, and that's all.
I didn't want to make this journal, but given the circumstances, I don't see any other alternative. For those of you who saw my last journal, you'll know that I've been attempting to contact an artist regarding a $157 commission that was started but not finished a year ago. I've now spoken to two other customers of theirs, both of whom have been facing similar difficulties regarding communication.
The artist is
I am hesitant to label this situation as a scam, as I had worked with Kabrro on another commission prior to them going silent, and during that time, they were friendly and kept me informed regarding updates and the like. As I've stated before, I am NOT angry, and I'd understand if they simply got busy with life or something else that needed their attention. Still, a year without any form of communication is ridiculous, especially after I've paid $157 for a product. While I've tried to handle the situation privately via DMs on Twitter or notes here on FA, it's obvious that it isn't working.
So, I am making this journal to hopefully save other people who might've been interested in commissioning Kabrro the same headache and to hopefully get a response/explanation from Kabrro. Again, I'm NOT calling them a scammer, but they HAVE proven to be extremely unreliable in terms of keeping their customers informed as to changes in circumstance. I wouldn't be as upset as I am if I hadn't seen them being active both on here and Twitter recently (and for a brief time earlier in the year), whether it's posting sketches, liking/replying to tweets, or favouriting pieces here on FA while seemingly ignoring my attempts to contact them.
So yeah, this is more or less a heads-up to anyone else who might've been interested in commissioning them. Also, while this situation is upsetting, I want to make it clear that I am NOT calling for the harassment of Kabrro. In the words of Koala Man, that's not on.

So Am I...

I will never get tired of that video. It drags me clawing and screaming back to the days of Naruto AMVs and people recording their screens with digital cameras as they scream at 'Amnesia: The Dark Descent'.
Anyway, now that the 'ha-ha funny video' is out of the way, this journal is more of a vent than anything else. I've been trying to contact an artist regarding an unfinished $157 commission from a year ago, and though this artist has recently been active again, both here and on Twitter, they've yet to reply to any of my messages. I'd like to state that I'm not angry with this artist, and I'll be excluding their name from this journal to prevent any sort of harassment. I'm just confused. Our interactions were cordial, and they seemed to be happy about working on the project, so I have no idea why they decided to go silent.
The notes I've sent are unopened, despite the artist being active again, so I'm guessing they've seen them in the inbox and simply not opened them. Another theory is that their inbox is full of other notes, and they've yet to find mine, though I find this unlikely.
I'd understand if they got busy with life or if something else happened that required them to step away from the internet for a while, and I've been working under the assumption that this is what happened. However, a year without any form of an update or a simple heads-up is somewhat ridiculous, especially after I've paid $157 for their services. I'm also starting to wonder if I've somehow managed to upset them, though I have no idea how I'd have done that. We've only spoken via notes, and all our conversations (which I've now archived) prior to them going silent were cordial and commission related.
So yeah, I'm just confused about the whole ordeal. I'm hoping they'll reach out to me soon, and I've sent a message to one of their artist friends over on Twitter with the hope that they'll get them to contact me, but we'll see what happens there.
I've never really had to deal with something like this before, so I'm just hoping that I'm handling the situation correctly. I may also reach out to other people who've commissioned this artist to see if they've had similar issues.
~ANYWAY~
In less vent-y news, I should have more Tyranid gals to share soon! It'll be the last batch from the FANTASTIC Sketchy-Vagrant-Joe (who you should totally check out over on HF, they seriously make some amazing stuff!) and it's looking great so far! I really am happy with the work he's done, and I seriously can't wait to share it with you.
Anyone who can guess the line-up will win an extra ration of corpse-starch!

Been playing a LOT of DF in what little spare time I have, and though I am not very good at it, I'm having a blast. The new soundtrack is also great, and I particularly like this song, Drink & Industry, that sometimes plays if you focus on your tavern/inn. It's by far my favourite song in the game.

Strike the Earth™
General | Posted 3 years agoDwarf Fortress dropped on Steam, and I've been playing it, and though I'm not very good, I'm enjoying it. I tried the free version a long time ago, but due to my poor vision, I was never able to get a grasp on it, and me being the big baby I am, I never tried to mod in a tileset because I was worried I'd fuck up and break something, so having one baked into the game from the get-go is a big help. I'm sure my PC will chug and curse me when I manage to get a fort with hundreds of dwarves, but I doubt I'm going to get to that point for a while since I'm having enough trouble keeping twenty of the drunks alive.
I'm also pretty stoked about the game having workshop support.
Anyway, I just wanted to share my thoughts on DF.

SFM Requests
General | Posted 3 years agoI've been toying with the idea of opening up SFM commissions, but before taking that step I've decided to open some request slots for nsfw/sfw SFM stuff to see how things go/to gauge interest in this sort of stuff.
I'm open to most kinks, provided they aren't illegal/clash with FA's TOS ofc. I'd also like to avoid any bathroom stuff/farts, that's just not my thing.
I'm cool with making simple dioramas: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/46445693/
-or-
More complex scene builds: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/48339096/
At the moment, I'll limit the number of request slots to three:
1.
2.
3.
These slots are NOT first come first serve, I'll pick what ideas I like and work on those. If your idea requires a unique model/models, you'll need to provide them. If you're interested, please send me a note with your idea.
If this goes well, I may consider expanding the number of slots.

Sketches
General | Posted 3 years agoI decided to remove the WIP sketches I uploaded earlier today after being warned that, despite my attempts to make it clear that I'm NOT upset or angry with the artist in question and the current situation, FA's bot (and potentially staff) could interpret the descriptions of those posts as me attempting to target or harass another user, which wasn't my intent.
I may upload the sketches to Twitter or re-post them here with amended descriptions, but we'll see what happens.
On a more upbeat note, happy 4th of July! I'm not an American so I won't be celebrating, but I hope those of you who do will have a decent time.
