Eza's Gallery Swallower makes saving art easy
Posted a year agoJust in case. Gallery Swallower is a userscript for plugins like GreaseMonkey or TamperMonkey, and works on a wide variety of art sites. Dozens of image links can be loaded onto one page for more convenient browsing, comic-reading, and bulk downloading. Fetch rates are kept reasonable to keep servers happy. (But also check your settings in DownThemAll or whatever.)
https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/4.....lery-swallower
https://sleazyfork.org/en/scripts/4.....lery-swallower - because Greasy Fork hides "adult" scripts.
If you prefer to middle-click every thumbnail yourself, Eza's Image Glutton redirects from any single-image page to the actual image, in the highest available resolution. This works nicely with Double-Click Image Downloader, which is called that for a reason.
https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/4.....-image-glutton
https://sleazyfork.org/en/scripts/4.....-image-glutton - same story.
Between e621's recent shenanigans and whatever happens next - never trust the cloud. Storage is cheaper than a time machine.

"We're gonna ban cute. EDIT: Wow why's everybody mad?!"
Posted 2 years ago"This is an ongoing learning experience for us on how to prepare to handle announcements like this."
There's no good way to ban art, you fools. It will always be miserable because you're inflicting misery on a community.
We are not here for you.
You are here for us.
Forced mass deletion is you, failing us.
You learned absolutely nothing from last time you demanded people erase their own art. Like it's not enough to have mods wandering through and deleting celebrated posts by deciding "this artwork from seven years ago is against the vague standards we just made up." You make them tell people to delete it themselves. "Or else." Fuck that. Who in your team has betrayed you, by telling you that's a sane interaction? You should start with a goddamn apology! You know you're asking people to review the central reason they use this site and then destroy some portion of it, forever. You still don't have some "private" setting where someone can look at their own no-longer-available posts. I'm glad to hear you finally implemented some level of undo, but it's not available to us, and it sounds like you can't promise it exists.
None of which would excuse forcing artists to pull the trigger themselves. But the whole process is intolerable. There is so much room to be less awful! if it's all stick, no carrot, then of course the people responsible for the entirety of your business's contents have opinions on where you can shove it.
"TL;DR -
- The rule isn’t new and hasn’t changed.
- Enforcement is being expanded to include Pokémon and Digimon."
Oh sure, no change, just expanding to new things anwhat the fuck do you think change means?! You even admit there's been some itty-bitty adjustments to this arbitrary censorship throughout the years, right before saying oh yeah by the way there was a secret internal policy that's now getting dumped. Even in your zeal to erase content from your content-sharing empty box, you privately recognized it would be a fucking nightmare to police inhuman cartoon characters for looking too cartoony. And now you're shocked, shocked!, that people are giving you backsass for embracing that nightmare anyway.
Every site for niche randos to post stuff gets so big they start gouging away parts of their foundation and then acts surprised when they suddenly collapse.
But it's fine, apparently - so long as people cut off the right beloved memories within the next ninety days, they won't be severely punished. It'll just be a normal post-facto crime! We'll only catch a swift boot in the ass if some anonymous moderator decides a doodle of vaguely humanoid imaginary animals from the world's largest game franchise looks too on-model... at any point in the future, subject to capricious rule adjustments, how dare you question us.
The web was a mistake. Sites inevitably rot. Return to services.

Eza's Gallery Swallower now supports video
Posted 4 years agoThis may be a mistake. But - you can now scroll through full-size images and videos on over a dozen sites. This userscript supports InkBunny, FurAffinity, Pixiv, Hentai-Foundry, most good boorus, the big Mastodon servers, etc. Images and submissions can be hidden instantly. Everything's linked for convenient mass downloading. And there's an Undo button, so you can't break anything by poking around.
https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/4.....lery-swallower
https://sleazyfork.org/en/scripts/4.....lery-swallower
Videos will autoplay (muted) when they're onscreen, and pause when you scroll past them. Manual pausing should keep them paused.

Eza's Gallery Swallower now has keyboard controls
Posted 4 years agoNavigate between images from an entire gallery page, in high resolution, with one-finger controls to hide any you don't like. Works on InkBunny, FurAffinity, Pixiv, Baraag / Mastodon, and a bunch of booru sites.
https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/4.....lery-swallower
https://sleazyfork.org/en/scripts/4.....lery-swallower
WASD navigates between images and between submissions. Q removes an image, E removes an image and goes to the next, X removes the whole submission, and R shows a submission again.
I highly recommend using this with DownThemAll or some other grab-everything tool.

Eza's Gallery Swallower supports InkBunny & FurAffinity
Posted 4 years agoGrab all thumbnails, from any gallery page, and turn them into high-res images. Every image links to itself, for easy bulk downloading or opening in new tabs. Removing individual images or whole submissions takes one click. Just add this userscript and click Swallow Gallery.

Also works on Pixiv, Gelbooru, e621 / e926, Hentai Foundry, Paheal Rule 34, Baraag, Derpibooru, and every board on Booru.org. It is an incredibly efficient tool for wasting time.

Eza's Gallery Swallower now supports Baraag and Derpiboor...
Posted 4 years agoDisplay all thumbnails as high-res images and scroll through more art. Streamline browsing, when you like, or use the sites as-normal. Now with navigation arrows (and thumbnails of its own) for easy one-tap scrolling between submissions.

(I've only supported a few Mastodon sites because I'm not sure how to sensibly approach them all. That support might get forked to another script that runs everywhere and checks if sites look Mastodon-y.)

If you're one of the \*checks notes\* 17 people who installed 1.0, you'll need to install this one separately, because GreasyFork is kinda dumb about "adult" scripts. Supporting Gelbooru (and soon, other sites!) automatically excludes it from anonymous viewing on their main site. As if Pixiv doesn't have smut.
Also supports Baraag now.

Introducing Eza's Gallery Swallower, for Pixiv
Posted 4 years agoBrowse Pixiv as dozens of high-res submissions at once. On command, this grabs all visible thumbnails, then displays those submissions in full. Notes for this initial version: The display size for images will eventually have options, like in Eza's Pixiv Fixiv. (Right now it's sensible for my tallscreen monitor.) Support for other websites is planned, but I make no promises.

Ban all fascists, special deal, today only
Posted 4 years agoToday is every website's free opportunity to identify and be rid of authoritarian traitors. America's capitol was mobbed by rioters. Shots were fired in the legislature. Multiple pipe bombs have been found.
This was an attempted coup.
Fascists stormed the US capitol, to reject the popular and electoral winner, spurred by public demands from the narcissistic poster-boy whose incompetence killed a quarter-million Americans before the election he lost.
If you run a website and you are not permanently ridding yourself of anyone remotely supportive of this violent effort to overthrow the US government, you are doing things wrong. If you don't enforce rules against violent bigotry then you do not have rules against violent bigotry.

Tumblr Scrape now includes stories
Posted 7 years agoTumblr is deleting all their porn very very soon. Use this script to back up everything you can. It will list all images from an entire Tumblr blog, or just one tag at a time. I recommend a mass downloader like DownThemAll, or any program you can copy-paste ten thousand links into.
https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/4.....-tumblr-scrape
Last night I added text support. Any fanfiction, stories, roleplay, or other text can now be saved alongside image links. I usually Save Page As a plain text file. Any record of these sites is helpful. Save everything you can think of, and the internet can sort it out later.

Back up your Tumblrs
Posted 7 years agoTumblr is deleting all their porn in less than two weeks. I doubt they'll exist in a year. I maintain a UserScript for cataloging entire Tumblr blogs, so if you want to back up all the images on your Tumblr or anyone else's, now is the time.
https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/4.....-tumblr-scrape
You'll need a browser extension like GreaseMonkey or TamperMonkey. On any Tumblr ([example].tumblr.com) this script adds a grey "Scrape" button in the upper-right corner. (Go to [example].tumblr.com/archive if the button won't cooperate.) You can click the "find image links from all pages" button, which won't take long. From there you can use DownThemAll or... I don't even know what the Chrome equivalent is. It's a list of addresses, just use a thing to download all of them. Browsing images won't work once Tumblr forces all "adult" blogs to become private. I don't know if image URLs will stay valid, then.
Everybody loves porn. Why is hosting it so hard?

Eza's Tumblr Scrape is now much faster
Posted 9 years agoGrab all images & videos from any Tumblr site, or view ten pages' worth at a time. I rewrote everything to use Promises instead of Ajax, so responsiveness and speed are significantly better.

Any Tumblr addicts out there?
Posted 11 years agoI got tired of Tumblr sites disappearing before I could see all the flighty artists' work - so this GreaseMonkey script makes it easy to download everything, just in case. It also lets you browse ten pages at once, seeing only the images. No more endless scrolling through wacky political opinions and LiveJournal nonsense!
https://greasyfork.org/scripts/4801.....-tumblr-scrape
Every Tumblr gets a little "Scrape" button in the upper-right corner. That leads to a page which can list every image shown or linked on the whole site. (Try browsing tags before clicking Scrape!) From the Scrape page, you can browse all those images, either thumbnailed or full-size.
Try it out, tell me what's great or what sucks. I've been using and improving it for eight months. It should be mature enough to share by now.

Image Glutton has a new home
Posted 11 years agoBy a tab addict, for tab addicts. It's a GreaseMonkey script that redirects from art-gallery pages to the high-res image. It supports InkBunny, Weasyl, FurAffinity, SoFurry, DeviantArt, Gelbooru, etc. I'll add more if anyone has suggestions.
https://greasyfork.org/scripts/4713.....-image-glutton
Since UserScripts was owned by a negligent dolt, Greasy Fork is the up-and-coming replacement. Eza's Pixiv Fixiv is also there (for Pixiv users annoyed by scroll-wait-scroll-wait nonsense in mangas) and I'll publish my Tumblr scraper once it has a non-engineer interface.

Eza's Image Glutton script - faster porn for fellow addicts
Posted 12 years agoYou guys open art in tabs, right? Like a dozen pictures at once? Maybe more? This is for you, then:
http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/169968
http://userscripts-mirror.org/scripts/show/169968
On most online art galleries, this will redirect from a submission page to the image itself. No more scrolling down past banners and site notices. No more resizing huge images. No more distracting GIF icons. Just the image alone, scaled and lightboxed by your browser.
And if you want to read descriptions and comments, you just hit "back." It only redirects the first time. It doesn't redirect if you're clicking a comment link. It doesn't blindly redirect from InkBunny's multi-image submissions. In general, it's designed to make middle-clicking dozens of image links as convenient and focused as possible.
So please, try it out, tell me what you think. (You need GreaseMonkey first, which is a browser add-on that lets you change any web page.) I've been using and improving it constantly for five months. I want to know if other people share my preferences. I'm also looking for additional art sites to add, so if you see any that aren't listed, please tell me. Thanks!

Mods deleted some not-quite-art.
Posted 12 years agoApparently linking to uncensored art from a censored version is against the new AUP. At this point I have no idea if I can link to my other account's front page, if I can post censored art without links, or if even acknowledging the existence of disallowed art is somehow a violation of the AUP. I'm removing links and crossing my fingers until I get some response.
I must say I'm pretty goddamn tired of walking on eggshells over this. It's not enough that mods just delete shit and wag a finger at you - no, they have to send scary form letters about account suspension while reminding you that all rule enforcement is a matter of moderator discretion. In plain english: if you aren't at least as anal about the rules as whichever moderator double-checks your self-censorship, kiss your account goodbye.
You know how InkBunny does it? They mark submissions invisible and briefly explain their rationale. They don't threaten you, and they don't even really delete anything.
So, in broad terms, there's this furry art site called InkBunny, and they host things FurAffinity doesn't allow. My account there may (or may not!) have art of that variety. Go there if you want to see that, or really, if you want to see much of me at all. I might not even post the art they disallow here, since they let people link whatever they please so long as the submission itself is kosher. In the meantime, excuse any art that goes missing here, and if this whole account disappears, it's not by choice.

Posted 15 years agoWhat the fuck am I still doing here if this art website can't guarantee anything's going to stay kosher from year to year? We had this big damn debate about cub art four friggin' years ago and now it's moot because of some financial hiccups? Sac up, admins. Trim the bejeezus out of your HTML, serve more ads per page, serve more 503s to tab whores like myself, ask for a commission donation drive from your bandwidth-intensive artists, hide the cub stuff behind an opt-in category, whatever - but when you announce that everyone has three weeks to save or censor a vast swath of content before you forcibly remove it, you have fucked up royally as an art site.
I'm not even sure I care enough to move to InkBunny or SoFurry or whatever. I might just post shit to e621, since they apparently care more about censorship and availability than FA, DA, or YG.

Math and Nudism
Posted 16 years agoAnime's usually drawn pretty cheaply, right? Lots of long scenery shots and dull pans / zooms wherever the animators can get away with it. Maybe half of each episode is real animation, not including straight footage reuse for recaps and beginning / end credits. On top of that, it's almost all on twos or on threes, meaning an average second of real animation only contains around 12 distinct frames. Any given episode will contain fewer than 10,000 unique frames of character art, possibly by a wide margin.
Meanwhile, original fanart of anything and everything is available by the pound on 4chan, 2ch, Gelbooru, and Danbooru. Gelbooru alone has 70,000 Touhou pictures, for fnord's sake.
So why haven't we seen any perverted efforts to reanimate a series? Surely there are enough artists online who'd each contribute a scene (a hundred half-traced frames, in practice) that we could slap together a whole-series edit with Haruhi or Shinji in the buff.

Please stop uploading PNGs.
Posted 16 years agoSeriously. Please. Unless your image is very small, needs an alpha channel, has 256 or fewer colors, or otherwise makes more sense as a lossless format designed for solid colors, use JPG.
The image filesize limit is not a challenge. Nobody's going to notice the eight inaccurate pixels if you use a 95% quality JPG. This site and its users will be much better off with files closer to 100K than 2MB.
