A hypothetical
Posted 2 years agoNot dead. Working bit by bit on a bunch of different little things... I've got a couple animated things done but not enough that I feel would be good to post yet.
However, I got wondering. Being able to make whatever you want sounds exciting, but it can be a pain if you don't commit to a direction and try to go everywhere at once. As much as I enjoy hopping between little projects, I do appreciate being able to know where I'm going.
So hypothetically (can't stress this enough, I'm not guaranteeing anything here), if you could pick one submission from my gallery that you wanted to see more of, what would it be?
And by "more of", do you mean you'd be interested in a direct narrative continuation of whatever it is that's in the gif (kinda like a story or sequel), or more of that particular type of content? Or perhaps more of a particular character?

Thanks again
Posted 2 years agoI wanted to say that I'm grateful to be able to post my gifs here and share them with you, and I'm also glad that I've been able to meet so many who enjoy both sides of the animations that I've made. I'll continue to work on improving myself and making more!
Whoops
Posted 2 years agoI keep falling into a bad habit where I shy away from making anything with a particular character because it clashes with plans that I've already set for them. "I can't draw a picture with this character, they're supposed to be over here, doing something else!" and so on. The other bad habit is that I get a big head and treat everything I do as some kind of project, which sucks the fun out of doing it in the first place.
I need to make more in-the-moment gifs where I experiment with different techniques and ideas. I need to be more forgiving of the smaller mistakes. It shouldn't matter if I have other plans for a character, as it would be better to use them for something, rather than keep them in reserve for a much bigger thing that will never arrive.
Anyway, I'll get to uploading.

One for me, one for you
Posted 3 years agoI have a bad habit where I say I'll dedicate myself to something and daydream about doing something else. I'm trying to experiment with my characters. I want to play with happiness and suffering, build a narrative, tell some jokes, and also test-drive some different kinks.
Overall, I say it's been going well this year. I like the little stories I've made and the character development that's come with them. However, I want to keep making BE/hyper content. I still like it! But I feel like I'm falling out of touch. Other than making fan art of licensed or franchised characters, what sort of stuff would you like me to do? I'm not explicitly taking requests, but I need some suggestions or prompts to help keep my brain jogging. Should I try doing more walk cycles? Just get to the point with some direct expansion? How should it be contextualized? Should I just make more gifs in the style of something that I've already made?

Tagging, or using keywords on FA
Posted 3 years agoHow do you do it? What would you say should be the best practices?
My personal philosophy has always been to use separate and distinct words. When searching, you can encapsulate a phrase with double quotes to get an exact match. This way, you can add the tags cat, boy, girl to your image and still get hits regardless of if you search for "cat boy", or "cat girl" (using quotes). You can also get a hit if you search for only cat, boy, or girl (without quotes). It's flexible and effective. You'll get the hits if you don't use quotes, or even the full tag, with the tradeoff being a broader set of results.
The problem is that, while functional, this technique is predicated on your search knowledge, and using double quotes and other techniques is not something you can count on the general public to know about or use. To that end, I see artists separating single tags with an underscore (cat_boy and cat_girl), and sometimes not even separating them at all (catboy, catgirl). This allows for a more direct search, but the flexibility isn't there. Searching for cat and boy would not hit cat_boy or catboy.
This is weird. It feels as though we have several different sets of tags which isn't too big a deal, except that it has resulted in search sets that are mutually exclusive. A user searching for cat_boy would never see art tagged with cat and boy, and vice versa. It seems like the next best thing would be to tag with all three methods, but that will bloat the number of tags for any given piece and would likely surpass the 250 character limit for keywords.
It's a bit of a sticky situation. What are your thoughts?

The horny's back
Posted 4 years agoAnd it's pissed
I've lost my horny
Posted 4 years agoI struggle with motivation just like everybody else, but some personal stuff has happened recently that left me with some parts missing, for the lack of a better descriptor. It's as if you wake up one day and find that your non-dominant arm has vanished. You can more or less get on without it, but you keep forgetting that it isn't there until you subconsciously reach out for something. I don't intend for this to be a downer post, more an acknowledgement that I have some problems that I need to be working on.
I've also had a chance to examine the reasoning behind why I like the things (kinks) I do, and the knowledge gleaned from that has been as surprising as it has been depressing. It will likely affect any art I do moving forward.
But hey, Pillowfort's back! I won't bother you with any attempts to become my own armchair psychologist. If I decide to elaborate further, it'll be on there.
The Month of Mae is kicking off. I started playing Night in the Woods to learn more about its characters and the environment, but the game hasn't been grabbing me. I'm not sure whether that says more about myself or the game. Regardless, I know Mae's character a little better now, and due to the aforementioned self-reflection I'm not sure that I have the heart to make another gif in the same (NSFW-ish) vein as the ones from previous years. I'm still going to try to make something, but it will be for myself.

I'm kinda missing Pillowfort
Posted 4 years agoIt was my designated ventin' zone. Felt like I could just run my mouth and be mopey in between posts of shoddy WIP gifs. I hope it comes back soon.
I've been trying some new and neat things recently and have some ideas that I'd like to take for a spin. But it's funny, as the more I accomplish, the worse I feel. I can't seem to shake the feeling that my time is being wasted no matter what I do. I'm still young, but I feel so old...
The good news is that my Katia gif got its thumbnail, somehow! I'm not sure if I managed to do something to rebuild it, or if it generated on its own. Also, while I'm thinking about it... It kinda blew up, didn't it? I've never had that many eyes on something I've made. I gotta say, I'm curious where those people are coming from. The more I learn, the less I know... I'm thankful that everyone took the time to stop by.

What's in a favourite?
Posted 4 years agoI need to start using the favourites system. I understand that a lot of people have their list private, but mine is completely empty. I keep track manually...
I'm not one for likes or follows, and have always preferred to engage people directly. I do realize there is an importance in showing off what you like, but I was always nervous about the ramifications of tossing stuff from other people up on my profile. Is there some kind of etiquette I should be following?
It was when I was going back and forth with myself on these thoughts today when I remembered a prior acquaintance from a few years back who had a small breakdown over what it meant to be on someone's friends list. So now I figure, the hell with it, I'm just going to dive in and do it. There's a lot of stuff that I like, and I want to show it to other people on the off chance that they might like it in turn. FA still gives power to the individual over what they can and can't see, so I'm just gonna post what I post for now and let anything that happens, happen.
Er... Tell me your thoughts on this. I'd like to know other people's opinions.

Thumbnail issues
Posted 5 years agoI don't know if it's just me, but some of my submissions are missing their thumbnails. I'm not sure how to fix it, but for the moment it means that some of my gifs are practically hidden from view... I've logged a ticket.
I mention this because I've just uploaded a new gif! If you're not able to physically see it in my gallery, you can get to it through a direct link here.

Any musicians out there?
Posted 5 years agoI like to animate to music that inspires me, but most of the time that very same music is licensed and I'm not allowed to share it. The Newgrounds audio portal is a great resource to get around this, as a lot of the excellent music on there tends to be available for use in games and animation, and sometimes even for commercial purposes. However, I'm reluctant to go that route as I'm not sure how those artists would feel if someone like me were to use their songs. Even if I were to make something wholly SFW, I doubt they would be happy to have their name attached to a work created by someone who makes smut in their spare time.
So, with that said, does anyone here have a Newgrounds account where they make and post their music, and wouldn't mind me potentially using it for an animation? I'd love to find something that inspires me that I could also theoretically use in an animation. No guarantees on what I'd make (or if I'd make anything at all), of course. I'm just wondering if there's anyone out there who would be preemptively cool with it.

Wow!
Posted 5 years agoI actually did it. I catalogued and organized everything into a postable format. This is nice.
I'm going to go to sleep for now, and will post everything to my scraps in one batch when I wake up. I want to make sure that I haven't missed anything.
EDIT: FA seemed to start running into problems near the end of it, but I was able to get everything posted! Go to scraps to check it out! There's around 26 gifs, the majority are SFW (and of Zee...), but there's a couple unseen BE gifs in there too!

Spring cleaning
Posted 5 years agoI was starting to get sick of having nothing to post, so I went through my backlog of unfinished gifs. Ended up going on a bit of a trip down memory lane, as there was a lot of stuff originally for a lot of people in here. Back when I used Discord, I believed that I could make friends by making animations for people. I know now that fan art is something that fans do. You have to be equals before you can draw as equals. I'm positive that most if not all of the people I've met over the years (who still remember me, at least) didn't mind me being there with them. However, I was never able to properly reciprocate my own feelings...
Anyway, the last three years were bittersweet, but I have no regrets. I learned a lot about how I view myself, and have a better idea on what I need to do going forward. This weekend, I'm going to build off of what I said back in March and will post all the gifs that are at least somewhat presentable to my scraps folder. There's about twenty or so and most of them have just been the result of me screwing around or being self indulgent and animating my own two characters. There's a couple lewd ones in there, and even a few of them that might have come close to being finished... There's a few images for people who I've never really met or got to know... I'll try to be respectful. Just gotta get everything organized before I start dumping. Please yell at me if the weekend ends before I get this started.

Bah
Posted 5 years agoI've got something new and different coming down the pipe. I'd say it's probably 90% done, and that last 10% could get through any day now.
However, recently I've been captivated by AI Dungeon. I missed the initial wave of popularity due to browser compatibility issues, but now that it's a self-contained app, I got to check it out properly.
...I haven't sunk this much time into something in a LONG time. It's amazing - Not only for nsfw stuff, but also for just coming up with ideas and prompts for how characters can react in a world. Each game leaves me with loads of ideas for gifs and animations that I'll never be able to do in a reasonable amount of time.
I need to pull myself away and get back to working on the thing that's almost done for once.

Scope
Posted 5 years agoThanks for the feedback from earlier. I've been thinking about it.
When I first signed up to this site, I had a plan in mind. However, after three years I'm finding that I lack the talent and energy to get it off the ground in a reasonable manner.
My original intention (by making a NSFW gallery) was to be free to make whatever I had felt like making without any judgement or self-doubt. That backfired pretty hard, as I continue to find myself concerned about what others are expecting from me more than ever. I know that nobody truly expects anything of me - It's good just to make art, regardless of whatever it could be. For some reason, I have trouble forcing myself to accept that.
Some form of action is still needed on my part, so I'm going to (try to) stop judging myself so harshly, lower my standards, and increase the scope of the content that I upload to this gallery. For now, this will include a couple smaller gifs that I originally did not think were worth posting (which is ridiculous, what good is art that nobody sees?).
Unfortunately, that means that this page will likely no longer focus on BE content. I'm sorry if you originally watched me for that; please feel free to unwatch me if needed. I'm going to let this gallery evolve naturally and see where things go from there. Hopefully I can retain some modicum of momentum.
...What kind of idiot has a breast expansion kink and then makes their only female character flat?

Aimless
Posted 5 years agoIt's probably obvious to anyone that's been paying attention, but I've been in a bit of a slump lately. I've been having trouble making NSFW art. I've made a few little gifs here and there, but everything that's come out has either been SFW or simply too incomplete to post.
I don't want this gallery to sit without any activity, but at the same time I had created it with NSFW work in mind. Would those who are watching me mind if I ever were to post whatever I make? This would likely be akin to the gifs that are already in my scraps folder (and believe me, I have a good dozen of my Zee fella), or would I just be better off creating a SFW account?
I could also just swallow my pride and post my incomplete art. It, uh, consists of a gif or two of Metachoke's characters again. I know that I need to diversify a bit more, but they're fun to work with!

Whoops.
Posted 7 years agoIt's been a while. I have a little bit of catching up that I need to do.
...Aaaand all caught up. At least as far as the nsfw stuff is concerned. I'm slow when it comes to making art.
