So I woke up early this morning to redo a sketch for a client, and after emailing it I went back to bed again. Baaad idea, because then I had this scary-ass dream:

My client somehow broke his way into my room and shook me awake. In his hand was the sketch I gave him earlier, and he was all,

"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!? I can't tell what the heck is happening in this picture, and this kid looks too old! Is his foot chained to the ground? Where's his carpet knife? This is shit!"

And then he shows me a contract and yells, "You told me when I hired you that you'd have no trouble doing this! And that you'd look into sand and make him look on top of things! Why is he in a classroom? I wanted a carpet mill!"

By then, his complaints were becoming weird gibberish, and he started yelling numbers and threatening me.

"It's been ten thirty! Ten thirty one! Now it's already eleven twenty! You're only doing two pages a week and we're never going to make the deadline with you being so slow! If I don't see the next page in ten minutes I'm going to find someone else to do this!"

And he throws the sketch back at me. I take a look at it and think to myself "that's odd, I don't remember drawing Van Gogh in the middle of the frame and coloring him in with pencil crayons. And why did I give him a neon green snake staff? It's too saturated anyways - I should desaturate this"

Was talking to  djmixer earlier and for some reason the conversation reminded me of this video.

Basically, it's a clip from Tom Yum Goong/The Protector (who names a movie after a soup?) where they took the sound out and replaced it with Terry Bogard/KOF/SF sounds and a neat little BGM. I found it pretty funny and addictive :o

I extracted one of my replay files (Halp) and made a video out of it.

I figured some people might want to see how I paint with colors. Although looking at it now, the video might be too fast (I didn't want to have it take forever and bore people with my scribbling)

I'm not sure you guys would learn much from this anyways, since I don't really follow any sort of formula and just jump all over the image; wherever I see that something needs changing. It's only like halfway through that you sort of see what the finished image is going to look like. For this one, it was something like... rough lines -> block over with a tone -> scribble with different tones to suggest form. Smaller brushstrokes than usual.

I clipped out the first 20 or so seconds of the video where I try out different scribbles and then painted over it to get rid of it. I don't like people seeing that stuff :x

Anyways feel free to comment or whatever. I might upload some more if people feel it's neat.

edit: I noticed that the colors replay files are sort of wonky - from like 0:11 till 0:19 or so it seems to register the brush strokes as low pressure (thin lines) as opposed to thick lines like I painted. It only shows this way when you replay/extract it on the javascript, but shows fine on the DS. That would explain why there's patches of blue on the Polar bear's head throughout the video (since I didn't paint over it after that)

So I just figured out how to export replay files from my colors images into .avi files, but the resulting movie always shows up blank. (I've tried naming it with the .avi extension when exporting)

Anyone know why this might be happening? :x

edit: nevermind, I pretty much figured this out.

I was talking to my blonde roommate in the kitchen the other day, and she was eating oreos.

"So like, I totally love these vanilla oreos, but I can't eat too many of them or I'll get fat. That's why I only eat half of them!"
