Cons Cancelled For Foreseeable Future

Got some rough medical news today. So... As of today, I have cancelled my tables at BLFC and Califur. I am discussing things with Furlandia.
That will be it for cons for me. I may sign up for local cons (in case a miracle happens) because they are a little easier to cancel than the ones requiring airfare, but that's it. It really kills me to sign up for cons, especially juried ones, and have to keep backing out. I am not a flakey person by nature and it bothers me to no end. I don't like inconveniencing cons with my cancellations. I also don't like the thought of it being potentially held against me with juried panels in the future.
So it's time to quit.
Instead, I will focus my efforts on catching up on old business, kicking out new shirts, streaming on Twitch, setting up an online store, and not dying.

Medical Update and No Furry Fiesta. Boo.

Had a long, long talk with my doctor today. The verdict is that it would be just about impossible for me to survive TFF, given my progress (decline?) in the last few weeks. I am now too fucked up to take most medications, so we have to improve my health before I can even start taking medications to kill the remaining infection(s) in my lungs. I am also too atrophied (yes everything) to even travel with the luggage I need for cons, so I have to do super cripple physical therapy as well, before returning to a gym. The trajectory for returning to life things is about 90 days, which is the end of April. Just in time for BLFC, Furlandia, and Califur. Soooooo... super bummed about TFF. I had a lot of fun last year, except for the near icy death en route to the airport. XD
Good things coming:
- More Twitch cons, where I take traditional commissions. http://www.twitch.tv/fablefire
- Etsy store. Or storenvy. One of those. Preferences?
- Those Megaplex things. I am retiring the Cintiq Compainion Hybrid from it's "Hybrid" status, as it's filing system has failed me too many times now. Still a great slave though. Maybe someday down the road, I will find those files and you guys will get TWO freebies...

This is Pajamacon (Alpha)! I'll be taking traditional commissions and selling bookmarks, memo pads, and post card sized prints! I couldn't make it to Further Confusion this weekend, so I wanted to try another option, for those con weekends that I need to cancel due to dying.

Shipping is a flat $6 - since I am using flat rate boxes/envelopes.
Going until about 2am tonight. Will start earlier tomorrow.
Note! Not all commissions will be completed on stream. They will be completed as I get to them. So don't be bummed if you can't watch your commission. You wouldn't be able to sit at my table and watch me at a con either.

Goodbye Further Confusion. Instead, Pajamacon!
Posted 10 years agoDocs confirmed today. Nooooooooo Further Confusion for me next week. So close. "If only we had a couple more weeks." Yeah yeah... they say that every time. The good news is that my genetics data came back and some of it is pretty mucked up in pretty important ways. Sadly, no Xmen powers yet. It confirms all of my chronic pain, fatigue, illness and nutritional deficiency stuff, so now docs can't argue with me. "No one has that." "LOOK AT MY DATA HAHAHAHA... asshole." It also explains why no one has been able to figure out my mystery medical issue. I am running on Windows Vista. Nothing works the way you think it should. Here's hoping that I patch faster than Vista did.
The good news (well, other good news) is that I will be having Pajamacon! Where I stream for 8hrs Fri, Sat, Sun and take commissions and sell stuff like I would at Further Confusion. Traditional commissions. You pay shipping though. Cancelling FC sucks hard, but now people who couldn't attend can get stuff now. Like memo pads or a badge.
I need your help though!
I need to figure out the protocol and stuff by next Friday, things like:
- How and in what order to take commissions on Twitch, since traffic is a little different than a con. First come, first serve? Create a queue and randomize it? Maybe demand will be low and I won't have a problem getting to everyone.
- A good way to process merch orders (bookmarks, memo pads, etc). Yes yes I know, "just open a damn Etsy, Fable". Maybe after Pajamacon. Paypal will be the payment method. Do I just have people email me orders and invoice from there?
- Should I make my art show pieces available? Is there like, a short term auction thing somewhere on the internets?
I expect the first Pajamacon to be a bit glitchy, like my DNA, but I think we can smooth it out and make something awesome.
If you can think of anything else cool, let me know. Will post more deets later as things get hashed out. :D
