1-13-19 - Progress Report!!
General | Posted 7 years agoHey ponefriends, it's ya boi Jr here with another hot update! Just in the nick of time, too... whew
I know I said I was going to try and transition away from Flash, but since I'm still learning ToonBoom and I at least kinda know how to use Flash, I decided to make up my first animation in Flash. Just a little something to break the rust off my joints and get cookin', you know? I pushed this post to the limit because I really wanted to get this animation finished up and posted, but I'm not quite there yet. Instead, though, I will share a quick screencap of my general idea here.
It's using some placeholder graphics here and there (and some of my work lines made it into the cap but that's cool), but I'm getting pretty close. Hopefully I'll have this one wrapped up in the next few days here!
Posted that up in my scraps. Hopefully that's visible to everyone. If not, I'll fix it later for sure. Anyways, peace out for now. Animated pones soon!

1-6-19 - First Update of the Year!
General | Posted 7 years agoWell, this week certainly has been productive. I've got the schedule figured out and I've got all my software set up. Not only that, but I've been hitting the tutorials and whatnot hard, so I'm quickly getting attuned to ToonBoom. Don't have anything interesting to show for it yet, but I think next week will be a different story. I'm surprised how nice the art/drawing software is inside of ToonBoom, it's got features in it that I have wanted since like forever.
Speaking of next week, I think Sunday is going to be real busy, so Update Day will probably happen on Saturday instead. Just a quick heads up!
So, like I said in my first journal, schedule will be as follows:
Monday - Work and Research
Tuesday - Work and Research
Wednesday - Work and Research
Thursday - Work and Research
Friday - Game Night (Break Time)
Saturday - Work and Research
Sunday - Update Night*
*Update Night might shift around sometimes; I'll warn you guys in advance if this happens. If I know Sunday is going to be busy, I'll post on Saturday. If the whole weekend is going to be busy, I'll update on Thursday.
First animation won't be anything too fancy, I think. It'll just show that I know how to use the software well enough to animate pony sex, which is a milestone in my books. Should be pretty fun!
Well, short update this week; just getting all set up and ready to animate. Hope to have something fun for you guys by next week (or sooner!). Until then, keep it classy, ponefriends.

Happy New Years!
General | Posted 7 years agoYa'll probably tired of hearing it by now, but I gotta say it: Happy New Year's!
With every Happy New Year's you hear, there also comes the idea/concept of a New Year's resolution. Well, this year, I'm going to take one of these to heart. Think of it as a JunYear's Resolution™, if you will.
Taking a look back at all my work, I realized that a lot of people really liked my animated stuff from a while ago. Heck, looking back at my animated work, I still like how a lot of it turned out. I didn't know much about Flash then and I still don't now, but I think animation is a very rewarding and worthwhile adventure to embark upon. I just love seeing pones in action, it's great!
So, my JunYear's Resolution™ for 2019... I'm going to start focusing my efforts on creating more animated works. I took quite a bit of time analyzing things, quite painstakingly if I might add, and I think creating more animations is really the coolest way to go. To make sure that I stick to this resolution, I've bought a calendar that I'm going to use as a production schedule (currently WIP, should have this month planned out by Friday). Also, I'm going to make sure I check in with you guys here weekly so that I stay on task. Check-ins might be done with either a journal update, posting caps of a new project that's in the works, or straight up delivering the goods. Not completely sure which day I'll use yet (Sunday evenings, tentatively; may change to Saturday nights if I know I have something coming up on Sunday that'll prevent posting). We'll figure out the rules/fine print by the weekend here.
In the past, I've disappeared for a few months at a time, usually due to severe de-motivation (aka 'depression' or 'an art slump'). I think some of this was happening because I would get stuck in a rut or a routine, where I just wasn't feeling it and making my artwork felt more like following an instruction booklet than being creative. Then comes the lack of motivation, falling off the Earth, and disappearing. Well, I don't like doing that. It stinks. I love making cool stuff for you guys to look at and go 'hey, that's pretty good'. So, I think a good way to drive my motivation forward is by adding in the challenge of animating my scenes, lewd or otherwise. My long-term animation goal is to move towards using good software, like ToonBoom, and eventually get the complete heckie away from Flash (though some of my early stuff this year will probably be Flash). The learning curve is steep, but I'd like to use it to start producing high quality animations of all sorts. We may be in for a bit of a long haul, ponefriends, but I really want to step up my game. I want to deliver something special to all of you ponelikers out there.
Here's to a great new year ahead, my friends! Let's make it happen!
