I just realized FWA is almost a month away.
Posted 10 years agoFuuuuuuuuuuuck. I should probably figure out transport/lodging. LFG!
Kicking the tires, lighting the fires.
Posted 11 years agoLong time no post, not like anyone follows anyway :P I guess I'm just typing for sanity's sake.
Here were my goals for 2014:
Upgraded job; Didn't quite nail it, but that comes later.
Left Roanoke; Didn't nail it either, but again, that comes later.
Healthier; Didn't die yet, so that's nice.
Fursona creation and fursuit creation; Well, my artist is mentally ill and took our money without actually doing the art, so that went down the drain. That once again, come s later.
In short, 2014 didn't really register as a good year. I had a pretty shitty few months, kinda lost my sense of self, and had trouble gaining it back until quite recently. I developed a new mindset in life, and a few new hobbies, and that should help me. I came to the realization that nobody in Roanoke actually is a friend, but only acquaintances who only talked when they needed my services, save for one or two who aren't on the site. Bitter pill to swallow, huh? Anyway, I developed a plan, leading onto my goals for 2015:
Upgrade job: Completed. Got a job traveling the country doing things I love, starting at the end of January.
Leave Roanoke: ETA 1mo. I have no need for an apartment since I'll be moving around too much, so I've decided to base camp my stuff with my folks in Florida. If I encounter Florida furs in the Ft. Meyers area, hit me up. You'll find me mostly diving ;)
Healthier: With increased pay and morale, comes increased health. I encountered some scares last year, but this'll be behind me. No transplant necessary for the next few decades.
Fursona creation and fursuit creation: Oh boy, and this is why I'm here. February '15, I'll be starting up the Patriarch project, trying to create that silly Gshep. I'm looking for stable (And I'm serious about stable), reliable folks, who want to earn good money for their time. I'm talking concept art, to ref sheet, to better art, to fursuit creation. All in one year. I'll have the money for that. Hit me up.
Aside from that, I'll be able to go to cons, and even have my own room. What fun? Add on TSA precheck, and I'm solid on travel.
Anyway, that's the story. Coming to a con near you, soon ;)

Personality Meme
Posted 13 years agoTook a personality test for chuckles @ http://www.signalpatterns.com
Understanding
You are willing to take the time to find out what's going on with other people, especially if they're in distress. You're a good listener, you don't criticize, and you offer unbiased, respectful, honest advice when it's requested. With a high score on the "understanding" trait, it is likely that you are enthusiastic about charitable work, helping others, and making the world a better place.
You don't feel the need to impose your standards on others or say things that, even though true, cause pain.
Competent
You strive to master everything you undertake. You tend to learn quickly and do not shy away from challenges.
You are not a "que sera sera" type of person, nor do you go easy on yourself when attempting to master a new skill or get a job done.
Sympathetic
You have a knack for knowing what's going on in the hearts and minds of those around you, without their having to tell you explicitly. People tend to turn to you with their problems because they know you care, and that you will likely offer good advice and a helping hand.
You do not feel that people with sad stories are just looking for attention, or have brought their problems upon themselves.
Accessible
You're comfortable expressing yourself in words and actions, with no self-censorship. You believe that if someone doesn't like what they see it's not your problem, but theirs. A high score on the "accessible" trait suggests that you have a lot of friends, socialize often, and enjoy rap/hip-hop music.
You don't see the need to keep your thoughts to yourself, or to have a zone of privacy that encompasses only yourself and a small circle of friends and relatives.
Warm
You have a genuine interest in other people. You're a natural host, and are always thinking about how you can increase the happiness of those around you. When friends have problems or are in trouble, you're usually the first person they turn to for aid and comfort. Scoring high on the "warm" trait suggests that you are among those who enjoy domestic activities — doing things around the house — and are enthusiastic about charitable work, helping others, and making the world a better place.
You don't always say exactly what you're thinking; you don't like the idea of causing anyone pain because of your criticism.
Empathetic
You are in touch with your own feelings, which helps put you in touch with the feelings of others.
You don't buy the logic that your happiness comes ahead of everyone else's because unless you're happy you're incapable of making anyone else happy.
Unflappable
You are not a slave to your emotions. It takes a lot to upset or unnerve you. That's why you're a good person to have around in a crisis.
You don't let it all hang out, which means that those around you often don't know the pressures you're under or what you're going through. You're not the kind of person people run from in a crisis.
Creative
You are good at solving problems, coming up with original ideas, and seeing connections between things, connections that most other people miss. People with a high score on the "creative" trait often are employed in such fields as finance and scientific research, and enjoy avant garde and classical music as well as literary fiction and scholarly non-fiction.
You do not shun abstractions and concepts in favor of the concrete and tangible.
Astute
You are a quick study. You generally don't need to have things explained to you more than once. When presented with a problem, you will often have an instant understanding of where to look for the solution.
You do not take your sweet time when presented with a new task to complete or problem to solve. You don't avoid assignments that require you to learn new skills.
Intellectual
You are thoughtful, rational, and comfortable in the world of ideas. People find you interesting to talk to. You're the living embodiment of the saying "You learn something new every day." In general, those with a high score on the "intellectual" trait are employed in such fields as teaching and research, and are enthusiastic about reading, foreign films, and classical music.
You do not avoid abstract conversation, experimenting with new ideas, or studying new things. It bores you to stick to the straight and narrow of what you already know.

Day Ten
Posted 13 years agoDay One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever)
Day Seven: Four turn offs.
Day Eight: Three turn ons.
Day Nine: Two smileys that describe your life right now.
Day Ten: One confession
(Whoops, almost forgot this one.)
I was briefly hospitalized for depression in High School. I struggled with it for a few years before I decided to get help. Nowadays, I keep my feelings in check, I keep my rage in check, and I have a lot less self esteem issues. It's funny, I have a friend of mine who keeps making this joke about me "Not being able to hold all these feels." He's going through depression and uses his meds as an excuse, when I kicked mine to the curb a month after I was released.
He has no idea, I'll just fantasize strangling him and smile.

Relationship Meme Thing
Posted 13 years ago1. First, who are you, your age and your species?
I'm Fade, I'm 21, and I'm Human.
2. Now you've introduced yourself, who is your partner, their age, and their species.
Beatlefox, 18, and Fox?
3. What makes your partner special to you?
Her smiles make my day :3
4. Aw that's so sweet! So, have you ever been suspicious of your partner?
I believe she may secretly be a supertart.
5. Lets move now...Have you used any pick-up lines with your partner? If yes, say which ones.
Uh, not really. I'm not the type for pick-up lines.
6. So what's the most embarrassing moment you've shared with your partner?
Uh, hello Officer. Yes, she does have nice shoes.
7. Oh I see...So, do you believe in gender after marriage?
Uh, what?
8. Interesting...Now do you have any sexual desires you would like to try with your partner? If yes, what is it?
Dafuq? Get outta here Survey thing.
9. Okay, now what really turns you on?
Heh, I think that's for her and her alone to know.
10. Enough with that. So may I ask, do you know what your partners weak-point is? Does he/she know yours?
I heard the eyes are most weak points during Boss Battles, however, for Hayley, I'd have to say her parents.
As for me, I'm ticklish as fuck.
11. What if you caught your partner with another man/women? Would you instantly assume that he/she is cheating on you or would you consider them friends?
Friends? I ain't the jealous type.
12. Is there any fantasy you wished for between you and your partner? We don't mind hearing perverted answers.
Once again, overstepping those boundaries survey thing, don't cross me!
13. That's nice...So have you two had any fights between each other?
A few, however, I tend to get her locked in most. She's broken my hold a few-OH, I thought you meant wrestling!
14. Oh, I almost forgot to ask! How did you confess to your partner? Did he/she reject your feelings or accept them immediately?
Confess? I think she was a bit surprised at first as to why.
15. How do you feel towards your partners family members? Do you even know them?
Heh, I only know her parents. I'll keep my opinions to myself.
16. Since we are on the topic of family, do you two wish to start a family together?
I think that's a bit too soon to ask that question. I can barely take care of myself, let alone thing about a family.
17. Alright, the meme is done! What will you do now?
Sleep, I guess. That, or perhaps a bit of Starcraft?

Heh, this is gonna be a hard one, I could use a drink.
1. I'm going to tear you apart.
Really, I keep myself pretty gentle, pretty easy, but if I really wanted to, I could just go crazy. Nothing more fun than just going unleashed, and just dominating, so to say.
2. Trying new things
There's not much I wouldn't really do. If my partner wants to try something new, who am I to judge? Sure!
3. Some light BDSM
Eh, bondage is an interesting concept, always wanted to try it, never found someone to trust. It's interesting how the brain can rewire pain over time, it's a bit of a turn on when applied correctly.

Yay, I caught up! Hm, this is a bit of a hard one.
1. Ignorance is bliss
Not knowing something isn't a crime, but glorifying not wanting to learn is.
2. Hygiene
Just shower once a day, and follow a basic grooming routine, and we'll be cool.
3. Acting like a corpse.
Yeah, I had a girlfriend that was like a dead fish one time, she just didn't really do anything, just kinda sat there, if you're gonna be intimate, move, speak, do something to tell me you're enjoying it!
4. Lack of leniency
Life doesn't come with an instruction manual, don't act like it. Say yes, go do things! If you're in your comfort zone all the time, you'll miss out on the fun stuff.

Once again, time to type away on the phone.
1. My adoptive parents.
They may be a bit controlling, but given my dad's job, and my mom being slightly loopy, they haven't steered me wrong. They've kept my head on my shoulders, and were there when I was at my weakest. I wouldn't want it any different.
2. My friends
I've learned who is there for me when I need them, and who isn't, and the ones that are there when the chips are down, I am proud to call them my friends. Dave, Zach, Paul, Jessie, keep it cool.
3.My Uncle Lou
You and I are kindred spirits. The stuff you went through as a kid turned you into a powerhouse today, and I aspire to be like you. You manage to help juggle Unilever, your wife, and your special needs kid, yet still have time to send me things and give me guidance.
4. My Girlfriend
We're still quite new, but you've opened up something in me that I've never experienced before. Hell, Zach's certainly noticed the change in my demeanor. You ask me what I see in you, and where you see a mess, I see potential bogged down by insecurity. I see more than you think, and I intend to help catalyze that. We're gonna be a great pair.
5. Rick Wolfe
You may not realize it, but you really saved me. I spent months in pain, hundreds in medical bills, and nothing could spare me from the agony radiating from my upper spine. Then I started diving, hydrotherapy in the most extreme form. As soon as my respirator kicked in as I dove, I could hear the clicks and pops as my neck reset, without the weight on my disks and nerves, I could move again. Every time I surfaced, the pain returned, but less, and less. Nowadays, my pain is managable, my neck continues to gain strength. You turned a man on the brink of killing himself, to a cave diver with a love for exploration. Thanks, you salty bastard.

Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever)

Yay, I finally caught up!
1. Acting like a moron while drunk.
I've had a few regrettable moments.
2. Not taking college and high school seriously
3. Not owning a pet.
I think I could get one now, perhaps when I have more cash?
4.Being way too cold.
I've done a few things to folks that didn't deserve it, moreso in EVE than in RL. It takes a certain sociopath to play it, let alone thrive.
5. World of Warcraft.
Jesus Christ, so much time wasted.
6. Never made a move on past crushes.
Ouch, if my present me saw my past me, we'd have a very long and painful talk about Carpe Diem.

1. I think about my time spent in High School.
I wasted those experiences a bit, after what Sterling did, I just shut down.
2. My buddies in Nulli Secunda.
Good folks, it's a shame I had to stop working with them lately, especially since they paid me to do it :(
3. Random thoughts.
Its interesting to see how my stream of consciousness works. A shame I can't apply most of it.
4. My future.
Who knows where I'm gonna be in 6 months, a year, 5 years? Just given how the past two months have gone, or even more, the past two years, things can change so quickly, some for the better, some for the worse.
5. Pain relief.
I wake up in the morning, and I hear the creaking of my neck settling as I adjust myself. Every day there's pain, but I power through it. Weed is a good option, but it can mess up my life. Painkillers can mess up my kidneys or Liver, and not much affects nerve damage. Diving seems to be the only time I get relief.
6. How things could have been.
I wish I didn't take such a wrong path back in HS, I really could have messed up my life.
7.My friends, family, and loved ones.

1. Honesty
Seriously, keeping your mouth shut is a bad idea, if something's cooking away, better let it out then let it build up.
2. Confidence
Nothing's more admiring to me than someone who has zero experience, but is confident they'll try their best.
3. Loyalty
I cringe a bit inside when I hear someone quite chummy with another, yet when they turn their backs, begin to trash-talk them. It's good to know someone's got your back, even when the chips are down.
4. Letting loose.
It's cool to go crazy every once in a while,
5. Knowing when things are fun, to knowing when to be serious.
There's a time and a place to be silly, and a time and place to HTFU and focus on the objectives at hand.
6. Openness
Try new things! Listen to a new band, go do something you've never before! Just keep an open mind and heart about it, you never know what you may encounter 3-4 months down the road!
7. Honey-Badger, yo.
Give zero fucks. Nuff said.
8. Keep your thought process correct.
As long as you can keep your head on your shoulders, and your feet on the ground, you're good with me. If you follow the other 7, and keep number 8 as primary, you're good to go wherever you go.

Got time for another one, why not?
1. I think, a lot. Most of those things are extremely obscure, and probably will never see the light of day.
2. I drive like a jackass.
3. My word is bond, if I promise something, its going to happen.
4. I have absolutely no tolerance for folks that are dead weight. I'd rather invest my time and energy into someone who gave a damn.
5. I hear folks talking about others behind their backs, and it makes me wonder if they do so about me too.
6.I am really, really, good at EVE. It takes a certain sociopath to play.
7. I've never met my biological family, and I'm still on the fence on contacting them.
8. Nowadays, times are changing fast for me. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm glad to have good friends to cover me.
9. I like to cuddle :3

1. You and I barely speak nowadays, but I greatly value your input. Its a shame the both of us are so busy and far away.
2. You need to relax.
3. I don't know what I did to you, but you're steadily crossing the line past redemption, brother.
4. Let's never talk about that trip, ever again.
5.You hold a lot more sway in my decision making than you think. Every day I help you, I improve a bit myself.
6. There comes a time when the only thing you have in common, is your history. Its time we put an end to this.
7. I don't go a week without thinking about the damage you've done. There are watershed moments, before inciden,
