♥ 2020 Update ♥ Lots of setbacks
Posted 5 years agoOne of these days I'll get better about journals....and updating with art as a whole.
I had so many plans for this year, and I still have the desire to at least see them get even a small start by the end, but we shall see.
Between rl 'kick-in-my-teeth' problems and my own brain being an absolute downer, it has been an interesting year for sure.
There's so much still I need to do for myself before I can feel comfortable taking comms, so beyond the occasional YCH, I think that big plan will be reserved for next year.
For now, I do have a combo drawing challenge I am working on for the spoopy season! ♥ So, excited to start showing those off once I catch up a bit!

Got back yesterday with the group, and omg was it so much fun as usual, even with my phone being a butt and dying/not holding charges...so I didn't get to have as much pics/videos as I wanted!
I already want to be back there though, and next year definitely can't come fast enough....but it shall have to BECAUSE....
I really want to find a way to get me a suit....even if I have to try doing it myself, since there's parts of my design that I would feel bad to put on another artist (plated scales on tail, for example....). And if all goes well, I may get a couple of my actual family members to come with us next year! So that'll be fun to give them that full experience.
So by tomorrow for sure I should be doing art again, I spent most of the day sleeping/just plain lazing about in bed. So I am a bit behind already, but I shall get back to it! ♥♥~BLFC 2019 ~ ♥ ~ YCH's and Life note below that! ~♥

The last journal I made was nearly a year ago.....and got nothing to show for it really...."Geez, so much for my promises. I am trying though, it's just hard when I have just about ZERO energy to do anything...when you have a threeFOUR year old that steals what little you do have hahahaha. But seriously, I'm working on getting out of this funk I have found myself in the last few months, and I am slowly but steadily getting there! Thanks for your patience! ♥ ^.=.^ ♥"......And said funk is only NOW starting to disappear! Sheesh

So to keep things going somewhat smoothly, I think I need to start making a list/schedule of things I ABSOLUTELY want to get out on a regular bases, like ADOPTS and YCH'S....Speaking of YCH's, I have one almost ready to auction out in time for the V-day season! It won't be purely Valentine themed though, and not purely couple based either, will have either option though! So look forward to that coming out in the next day or two! ~♥
I also need to finish so much art owed...whether personal or left-over commission.....Ya know, the next time I feel confident enough to take commissions, I am going to be sure I have a better scheduling habit...that way I DO NOT put myself in a situation where it is more than overdue. I hate the feeling of not finishing something, and I've been trying my hardest to fix it....and am hell bent on doing so this year. I have no real excuses anymore, besides the utter exhaustion that has been plaguing me for years now...but I am quickly learning to just kick it in the ass and shove it into the dark corners of my brain when I need to. It will be a tentative process, but with the child getting bigger he won't NEED my attention quite as much, so I am experimenting with ways to get art in both during the day, and at night after he's asleep.
I have been playing with the idea of experimenting with other forms of art to try when the weather gets nicer...essentially making mini-scenes inside glass jars (since I have so many of those damn things clogging my cupboard under my sink >..>) and making them a commission/YCH option once I get some materials to play with! We'll see what happens!~♥

Other than that not much is going to going on besides spending time with family, being a mom to my son and a "mom" to my animals (Got three precious rat girls to take care of now, along with my bestie/roommate's Cornsnake! ^W^)...WILL be going to BLFC this year again, so I will be putting out a new journal as soon as that date rolls closer, but otherwise...it's going to be my improvement year, I need to do this for myself. Need to.

I am also starting to work on some personal pieces that will be painterly. Starting with my D&D characters and then moving onward from there. And maybe some other gift too...I dunno. REGARDLESS, art will happen now, weather it likes it or not!

Saw someone else I watch mention that they do this, and I though it was an interesting idea. Clear your Gallery every year, and start off the year with a clean slate -so to speak-...do not delete the old ones though! Just move them to scraps.
I do not think I will be able to make enough art in a year to warrant doing this EVERY year, maybe every 2-3, 5 at the most. But I find it and interesting concept that I'm going to give a try, so I have already cleaned out my gallery! I am going to keep my old Commission sheet there and just give it new art, and make it my permanent T.O.S post instead.

Everything from here on out, is going to be new art. Which means there's going to be a lot of experimental pieces, cause I've got so many wonderful new brushes and techniques to try out and see if I want to use them more often.
I've already got a nice painterly gift to show off soon, and I absolutely NEED to finish the last Comm I got a couple months back before I start doing all my planned personal art. Gunna get a few designs for RedBubble and my Adopts Account flowing through my head too, cause I definitely would like to start to just plain SELL things again.
I'm also going to be changing my posting habits as a whole, and I am going to try my damnedest to post once a week. Even if it's just one of my nice pencil sketches, I am going to post SOMETHING every week. This includes my Adopts Account too, so this is going to be interessting.

WINTER TIME! TEA AND SWEATER SEASON! HOT COCOA SEASON! SNOW SEASON!
Hello all! Now that is has been over a month since my last journal, I think it is high time I give everyone the low-down for the next few months that I have planned...lots has happen, and lots needs to improve.
Firstly though, I got myself into something fun for the first time ever for this lovely month of December, and I have signed up for TWO different Secret Santas! And have already got my receivers set up, just need to get going on figuring out what to do for each of them. This is going to be so fun, and I can't wait to see what I receive in return! ♥

Secondly, thanks to the few patrons I have gotten since I opened my commissions -one couple in particular that kept coming back for more....I WAS ABLE TO PURCHASE A REPLACEMENT TABLET!!!! So I can do digital art again! Which makes me so happy, cause I have so many things that I want to experiment with, and get done all of the owed art I have.

Which leads me to the most important part of this journal, as much as I don't want to do it...but I have found that I am not as prepared as I wanted to be for taking commissions....SO I AM CLOSING MY COMMISSIONS. Probably until the end of February. Before that of course, I will be finishing the last set of comms I do have, because they deserve that much, but I am NOT taking any more after that. I need to plan out so many things better....
I need to set myself some more consistent time limits per piece.
I have been thinking about converting to working an hourly rate because of this...because I have very quickly realized that I am pretty severely underselling myself. Some things will stay a set rate, like my badges and icons and maybe a couple other things.
I need to get more adopts put out for my Adoptables Account, cause I haven't done that in ages.
I need to get more art done in general to put on my RedBubble, which I have done even less for.
I've been debating making an Art Facebook or just make my own website on Weebly or Wix or something.
There's just too many things I need to improve before I can even remotely feel comfortable taking any more commissions, cause you people deserve my best, and I cannot give that right now...and that makes this tired momma durgs self-esteem plummet hardcore. So I need to work on myself, for myself, and do the things that I want to do for a little while, and learn as I go.

But, to help keep my sanity a bit, I am obviously still working on art for myself too. One of which being a decent sized PASTEL piece to celebrate Snektember! Between all the stuff I wanna create to sell, the few commissions I am acquiring, finishing something for a friend, and taking care of many things in real life -including but not limited to a 2 1/2 year old child....I don't want to burn myself out by doing a drawing each day, so I will settle for finishing one very detailed one before the months end! :D
Eventually though, I wouldn't mind buckling down and doing more art challenges again. The last ones I did....2 years ago, was a combo of Inktober and Drawllloween that I never posted on any of my art sites. And the only other one before that was the '30 Day Monster Girl Challenge'...5 years ago! @w@ Hmmmm.....maybe next year I'll do one for each month....if every month even has official challenges. We shall see!

I had it all figured out, I found a way to for the most part avoid its little freak out spots...was having fun arting this afternoon/evening, trying out some Telegram stickers for my bestie Arokh....and what do I do when I go to the kitchen to deal with after dinner shenanigans?..............................................Forget to hide my tablet pen from the grabby hands of a two and a half-year old, and *POOF* there goes the nib to my tablet pen! Don't even know how he did it, cause he was so quiet about it! >w<

~ ~ ~ . ҉ . ~ ~ ~Hey peeps! Sorry arts been slow again, I was on a little vacantion of sorts visiting my family. Going hiking, going the the river, just general fun naturey stuffs. As well as visiting friends and such. It was nice, but now I am home and hopefully art will be consistent again....
Key word HOPEFULLY, because I'm pretty sure my drawing tablet is in the process of dying....it is starting to freak out entirely, and I don't even have to have the pen near the tablet for the cursor to go everywhere and start 'clicking' buttons. So yeah, art is gunna be difficult to do unless I can figure out a temp. way to fix it.

Whew, why does life have to be so exhausting! I'm slowly but surely getting into a real groove now in terms of art, so I should be more consistent than I ever was before. -crossing fingers- I am definitely enjoying doing art so much again, and I want to branch out to more things, like acrylic paintings, and clay, and other fun stuffs.
We'll see how things go....BECAUSE....
I AM OFFICIALLY OPENING MYSELF UP FOR COMMISSIONS!
After a nice little nip in the butt, by a lovely tigertaur that is the first and only one to ask if I was open for commissions, so here I am! I am so new to this feeling, and am totally experimenting with this. I will be posting an official sign with my TOS, the order form, and preferred email contact in a moment! So keep your eye out!
I'm debating on creating other social media accounts too...like Twitter, or Instagram, or Tumblr...I see a lot of artists using those lately. Sleep
Early Bird or Night Owl: Night Owl definitely....which is tough when you have a fleshy Early Bird alarm clock. Haha
What time do you go to bed: Between 11pm - 2am (12am to 4am standard before child)
What time do you get up: Between 7am - 8am average (10am to 12pm before child)
What do you sleep in: Extra large shirt, and short-shorts (summer) - Large shirts and fuzzy/normal pj pants (winter)
Do you dream frequently: No clue, all the dreams I ever remember are the really strange ones OR nightmares, neither I've had in a while.
What position do you sleep in: On either of my sides, curled up usually...but in summer especially I like to stretch out more.
What was the last dream you remember: One of my childhood ones -right off the bat. I was about 5-ish, and I was third person following a bee/wasp thing through my dollhouse while child me as in the background playing with other toys...then when it came within my sight, I said something, and it's eyes and stripes glowed and it's head grew to practically the size of the room with huge teeth, slowly coming toward me and trying to eat me...... X3

High School: Yus
College: I nearly finished by associates, but kid and other shenanigans happened.
Occupation: Mother, and soon to be Freelance Artist on the side!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years: Hopefully going back to school, and keeping up with the child and side-art.
What's your dream job: Either work at/open my own Animal Rescue/Reabilitation, specializing in exotic and endangered. Or open a Tea Shop...both would make my heart happy!
Favorite Stuff
Foods: Too many...Cheesecake, Brownies, Cookies, Curry, Elk/Venison, Taquitos and Fruits in general, and most Veggies, to name a few. :3
Carbonated drinks: Eh, no real big on them anymore. But Ginger Ale, Root-bear, Cream Soda, Orange and Strawberry soda are still my jam.
Non-carbonated drinks: Juice, coffee, and TEA. Tea is my life.
Ice cream flavor: Oh geez...too many again. Strawberry, Mint Chocolate Chip, and Phish Food are my TOP fav.
Season: Autumn and Spring
Animals: Everything, monkeys are not really my favorite....exceptions are small species, and Lemurs!
Colors: ALL :D give me all the colors!
Music: I pride myself in liking a wide range. Not too much into country or rap though.
TV shows: Not into too TV much these days. But I love Face Off, Finding Bigfoot (tehe), River Monsters, Americas Got Talent, Property Brothers, and a few others I can't think of right now.
Video games: So many games! I've either play myself, or watched others play often enough that I know them pretty well: World of Warcraft, Guild Wars, all Halo games, Elderscrolls series, Sims, Final Fantasty (only a few I've watched, none played), all Darksouls (watched), Warframe, Zoo Tycoon, Dragons Dogma (watched and played), Dragon Age, Borderlands, Spyro: Enter the Dragon (only Spyro game sadly), Zelda games (played Windwaker, watched one or two others)....and a there's probably more I can't think of right now. XD

Good god I am 26 today....where does time go, and why does it go there way too fast?! XD
My day was simple, and uneventful, but very much enjoyable ^.=.^ Just had a nice chill day with my wee child, my snake and a couple family members. I may actually do SOMETHING for my birthday later, but for the time being I am content.
~Update~
Art is slow still....more for procrastination sneaking up on me, and preparations are being made for moving soon ^.=.^ so it'll be nice to have my own space again, so maybe that'll kick me in the butt enough to get me drawing a lot more.....because I have TONS of plans stuck in my head, that are itching to get out.
So, expect something within the next month at least :3 even if it's just one or two things, it's better then the whole lotta nothing I've been doing lately. Haha
