For anyone looking to commission me, I've updated my prices. Now, I will be charging 13USD per 1k words as opposed to 11.5USD per 1k words. People who have requested commissions from me before I announced this will not be required to pay the increased cost.

Totally forgot I had this account, honestly. Time to clean it up a bit.

So, for anyone who still reads this, I've been working on a, shall we say, project for the past couple of weeks. I realized I hadn't made any furry original fiction in quite awhile, but I couldn't think of a good reason to use furries in a story. Well, one day I was in the shower and inspiration struct (I suppose hot water is my muse) and I've come up with a sort of universe I wish to write original fiction in.

It's still a work in progress, but I've worked out a lot of kinks in the setting. It's a sort of contemporary fantasy/sci-fi type deal, set in an analog of modern day America (why I didn't just make it America is beyond me but whatever). I won't say much more than that until I actually get a story out, but I've been working on the setting. A lot. Probably more than I should have--the documents I have describing the setting are longer than a lot of my stories, and I've still got a lot of stuff to work out.

So, yeah, hopefully I'll have something for you guys soon.

Merry belated Christmas everyone

Okay, so, turns out my new roommate is a very vocal hater of furries, which as you might guess makes getting FA difficult. I can only update this journal now since he's off taking a test. Feels bad man.

Well I finally got moved into my dorm and to be honest I'm glad summer's over. Looking forward to the new year. Also gonna clean out my gallery again soon so whatever.

Alright, so I bet no one is really reading this, and, honestly, I can't blame them seeing as I've been strikingly absent lately but whatever.

Just wanted to say that I'm trying to get back into things here. I've been pretty busy with college lately and a lot of things have been demanding my attention but I honestly love it. I especially love my fiction writing class (yeah, yeah, I got Behavioral Neuroscience as my other major. I'm even working on a research project with rats!), which has improved my writing a lot.

I actually have been writing a bunch lately, just not furry stories, although some of them I really like and I will be uploading eventually once I revise them. I've also improved my critiquing some so I hope to give some good constructive criticism.

Anyway, that's all I got. Now to sort through the 512 submissions and 659 journals...

Apparently, one of my cats, Aurora, died while I was at college and my mom waited until today to tell me so I wouldn't be distracted during finals week. I suppose it's better than walking into my mom's house looking for her in vain, but...fuck.

Apparently she was fine when my mom left for work, and sometime during the day crawled behind the toilet and died and we have no idea why. My other cat is fine but he's pretty distressed about it.

Well, RIP. I only hope she didn't suffer any...

So in my Creative Writing class (just mentioning it makes me laugh. Shoulda been an astrophysicist) we've been doing poetry for the past couple of months and I've written some new stuff and read a lot of poets, but the thing is, I don't really get the appeal of a lot of the new poets. I mean, I read some of Kenneth Goldsmith's stuff and some of Michael Gizzi's and I was lost. I mean, if I read a poem, and I don't get it or if it's something super experimental or incomprehensible, then I can't really enjoy it, you know?

Also, my teacher has been pressing a lot on image in poems. That's fine and all, but is it bad that I don't think that way? I mean, is it really that important to define the scene when the scene is ultimately not important (or am I wrong in thinking that the scene isn't always important)? I dunno, really.

Today, I went to a gay callout while my roommate was away, creatively called The Big Gay Callout, and ran into a friend I knew from high school, who turned out to be activities director for our gay student union. Not only that, I found out one of my teachers and coordinators for the honors program I'm in is a chair for the gay student union, and, I'm assuming, gay himself. I was completely flabbergasted to see him there, but it was all for the best. Hitting a median and losing the chain on my bike on the way there was totally worth it.

So far, so good. I've been pretty busy lately, but in a good way. So far, things have been manageable and I've been able to find everything. My room and floor are great, the food's great, my schedule is forgiving, and I even managed to join a club.

But...

Well, okay, so here's the thing. I finally met my roommate. He's a pretty cool guy and (I think) I haven't inadvertently pissed him off so far, but he's a pretty religious guy. Now, I respect that, and find it funny that I think that's a problem at all, but the thing is, now I'm really afraid of coming out, as I don't think he'll take it all that well. I mean, I came out to one of my friends from high school who was pretty religious and he took it really badly, so I really don't want this relationship to turn sour since we're gonna be together the whole year, y'know? Ah, I really don't know what to do.

Oh well, I should probably get ready for tomorrow now.

And I'm moving into college on the 15th. Whether or not this means I'll have more FA time, I dunno.

Truth be told, I'm kinda worried about breaking the news to him that I'm bi--he seems like a nice guy but I've only talked to him once and it seems understandable why having a gay roommate might make one uncomfortable--but I guess I'll just have to wait, see, and pray, I guess.

However, I think it'll probably be funny when I browse FA in front of him (not the naughty bits, of course).

Having recently obtained the item "Honors Diploma", I was able to change classes from a level 12 public school student to a level 1 HS grad. Upon changing class, my intelligence and wisdom scores increased by 10 points each and I gained the abilities "Mega Mooch", "Master Bum", and "Cocky Know-it-all".

I plan on changing classes again to a level 1 Undergrad student sometime in August. I'm really looking forward to those "Last Minute Cram" and "Questionable Food Tolerance" skills.

Please do not give us 50 freaking huge projects right at the end of the year when finals and AP Tests are only a few days away. Thanks.

So you guys know I like to write, although I haven't submitted anything new in forever (bunch of stuff just didn't work out, but I'm still trying). Well, my family this too, although they've never seen my stuff.

So, yesterday, when I was talking with my father about my planning to be an English major, he remarked that he had never seen anything I've written and ordered me to write him a short story in two weeks.

Now the problem is...I don't feel comfortable showing my family my writing at all, especially my father. And it's not just the furry stuff, no. I mean I honestly feel scared to have them read anything I write. I mean, I feel comfortable posting something on the Internet or showing something to one of my teachers, but I wouldn't dare show something like that to one of my parents. It's really hard to explain, but it's like they wouldn't...get it, if you will, and with my father especially I'm really worried that no matter what I write it'll turn into something he can use as a 5 hour lecture for whatever-the-fuck and hold it against me for the next four years or to tell me that it means English is a poor choice like he always does. It doesn't help that we're not on the best of terms at the moment.

So, is this normal? I mean, is it wrong for me to feel this way? What can I do to fix it? I mean, I gotta have this done, or who knows what'll happen...

Tomorrow I'll be 18. I haven't had a girlfriend or boyfriend yet, haven't gotten a job, don't have a license, haven't the faintest idea what to do to celebrate, and, what's worse, I haven't finished a story in months!

...So, any suggestions before I freak out?

I've been finding it almost impossible to get on FA recently due to some things going on and the fact that my computer is almost done for. I apologize for being absent for an extended period of time once more and hope to get back to you guys soon.

Yeah, it was really awesome, especially since I went with my friends and not with my parents this time. I don't have the time to elaborate on anything really at the moment, but I will say I did run into a few fellow furries (I stayed mum on my belonging to the fandom though, since the guy driving me there hates furries with a passion) and possibly the coolest cosplay ever: a guy dressed as a Gameboy that had Tetris...and it actually worked! I can't imagine how long it took to get that together.

Well, see you guys, and oh, before I forget, I'm working on a new story which I think will actually mean something this time instead of being the usual crap I put out.
