Yiff comics with a story
General | Posted 3 years agoI notice how certain artists do the opposite of what tends to happen with things. Instead of a story being filled with fanservice more and more, these artists start out with pornographic comics where the plot is hardly there, but then over time to have a continuous narrative. There's more characters, relationships between them of all sort of forms are established, and real story arcs can happen.
It's perhaps easier to pull off these days with crowd-founding sites, which lets people not rely on commissions of individual clients, but rather have 1 major project that a mass of people would love to see continue.
I must confess, that while a few artists have created projects that impress me with their storytelling, I do end up often skipping over the sex scenes, because "reading for the story" and "reading for you know what" are completely different experiences for me. I focus on one of the 2 at the time, with the latter probably not entirely qualifying as "reading".
This made me wonder how other people tend to feel about this stuff.
Am I the only one mostly reading pornographic comics for the story?
Are most furries able to enjoy these comics "in both ways" at the same time?
Do many read them only for the "hot stuff"?

You know what I hate
General | Posted 4 years agoPolitics, and being people smug about them. How they let politics seep into everything they say or create, and how they proclaim subjective ideas as universal truths.
I don't claim that any of my beliefs are absolutely truthful. If you disagree with something that I say in any way, I don't mind. I don't hate you for disagreeing with me.
If you feel differently... If you feel that everyone has to agree with you and your beliefs, or otherwise they are evil, then don't be surprised that I'm opposed to you. Even if we shared the same political ideas, your approach would be what would make me oppose you, because I oppose it more than just an opposing ideology.

Seven Pack Chapter 9 - release date
General | Posted 4 years agoThe final chapter of Seven Pack will start being uploaded on September 4th 2021, on the 16th anniversary of the day when I began to draw. The chapter pages will be released on a weekly basis. For all those who prefer to read chapters as a complete piece: The whole chapter will be online around the latter half of March of 2022.
When I'll finish the final page of my comic (a few pages are left), I will start work on 2 videos :
1) History of Seven Pack - conception, development, unused ideas, and curious details, never before revealed
2) Tips and Advice - I will offer advise to people who'd like to make their own comics. What to do, and what to avoid
I am also considering a Q&A video, but I don't know how many questions I'd be able to gather. If you'd be interested, write your questions below, and I'll see what can be done with them.

Updates about SevenPack
General | Posted 4 years agoHello everyone,
I continue work on my comic, and yesterday , as I once again sat down to plan out the upcoming pages, I have reached the final page. I now know how long the last chapter will be. 29 pages, plus a 30th one with a brief message to the readers.
Even having known that this would be the final chapter for a long time, there is a sense of major finality to it all right now. I can see the end on the horizon. It's a bit scary, but also quite excited.
I am only now starting work on Page 22, so it'll take a while for all to be done, but none the less, it's a good feeling.

The hunt never ends
General | Posted 4 years agoThese days I see a bunch of censorship, not even specifically on this or any website. I see it everywhere. People fighting against something, trying to get it banned. I notice how a peculiar argument floats around these sites quite often:
"They're banning [thing that technically should be okay], but they still leave behind [thing that was meant to be banned]!"
This sort of point gets used to make light that while things that are less undesirable (satire, parody for example) get banned, some more problematic stuff gets a pass.
I take issue with this statement. Of course it is possible that this is indeed incompetence, that the people throwing down the ban-hammer are idiots, and don't know what they're doing... However I do wish disregard that possibility and focus on the idea itself:
Just because you forbid something, doesn't mean it'll go away completely. It doesn't mean everyone stops trying to post this stuff. People will keep trying, and some will slip by. I'm not trying to deny that people can be idiots with this, but I also wouldn't say that missing the real felons, while already going after people who are not really all that guilty is on its own a proof of failing. It is impossible to win this to where it'd be all completely gone, while all innocent don't suffer. Even if you were to use automated filters, something will slip by, and YES, you will start tagging people who are less guilty.
I do have to note that that whole original argument that I brought up can be meant to dismissing the censorship process as a whole, but I've also seen it be used to endorse it further! The people say:
"They're banning [thing that should be okay], but they still leave behind [thing that was meant to be banned]! As long as some of those bad things slip by, we cannot speak of censorship going too far. We must continue until all of it is removed."
My problem with that, is that it goes for a mindset of "It's better to have 100 innocent people suffer unjust punishment, than to have 1 single guilty one escape", and all of this for a goal that's impossible to achieve. I am in complete opposition to this.
I do wish to make it clear that what I write is not done in support of any controversial work. I'm merely trying to speak my mind about the problem of not "getting 'em all", cause it's impossible, and the harder you try to do so, the more likely innocent people get caught in the cross-fire.

I watched "King of the Hill"
General | Posted 4 years agoOriginally I meant to write this as a review, but I can’t do it, so I’ll write it as something … personal, even if it is inspired by a TV Series.
I used to be this awkward kid, and I would watch shows like “The Simpsons”, identifying with Lisa, a smart but unpopular girl who feels very sad over where she lives. Now… I’m a 33 year old man, watching “King of the Hill”, another adult cartoon, where I’m identifying with Hank Hill, a conservative propane salesman with a wife and son, who is frustrated by the youth of today.
I feel like things have indeed changed. I am no longer a child, but a boomer. I accept my new mantle, and will wear it, as I shake my head at those disgusting millennials.
PS: Watch “King of the Hill”, it's great show. I hope they never revive it. It’s great the way it was.

Issues with SAI
General | Posted 4 years agoI have used SAI for drawing lineart for my picture. Recently I've had a problem, where my progress was undone the next time I opened the file, despite pressing "Save".
Of course if it just happened once, I'd accept it as a clumsy mistake of mine, but it keeps repeating, and I am growing concerned over what's causing it.
Could anyone help?
The software and all the files are stored in my Dropbox directory. I am mentioning this, but I wish to note that in all the years past, I've not had this issue come up.

Politics in Seven Pack
General | Posted 4 years agoAll right, so there's been a lot of people making YouTube videos which discuss the political allignments of the characters in my comic. Initially I didn't mind it, feeling like I should let people do their own thing, but I genuinely don't like the direction some people take this, and especially the fact that parts of my fanbase take the content of these videos as canon, so I decided to write down all the characters and explain what parties they would ACTUALLY vote for.
Keiran: Krajowa Partia Emerytów i Rencistów (National Party of Retirees and Pensioners). A party which aims to protect retired seniors, pensioners and trust-busting.
Raphael: Polska Partia Piratów (Polish Pirate Party). A party fighting for a reform of copyright and patent law, and in support of free sharing of knowledge.
Joseph: Liga Polskich Rodzin (League of Polish Families). A far-right party in support of National Democracy.
Steve: Polska Partia Socjalistyczna (Polish Socialist Party).... It's in the name
Voren: Ruch Palikota (Palikot's Movement). A social-liberal and anti-clerical political party.
Allistair: Polska Partia Przyjaciół Piwa (Polish Beer-Lovers' Party). A political party which seeks to fight alcoholism by promoting beer over vodka
Ok, and now for real: April Fool's, I'm just fooling around. Nobody talks about my comic, I'm just mocking some YouTube videos that I saw. In reality none of my characters vote, nor do any fictional characters to begin with, as they are FICTIONAL, and (as of this writing), fictional characters have no right to vote (which I consider very admirable), so who cares?
BTW: All these parties are real, some simply are disbanded as of now, or have become inactive due to no luck in elections.

Bias vs Truth
General | Posted 4 years agoThe truth is an objective thing. Something that cannot be denied or opposed. It can mean anything from complex scientific data to just a child saying "this pen is blue". I have seen media which explored the idea of truth, and how despite the fact that nobody would ever say "I hate the truth. Lies is where it's at!", our minds still go into things which are not factual, but rather subjective and based on personal beliefs, views or faith, and present it as objective fact. Some would say that it is natural to do so. We believe in something, so we see it as the truth, and I can't disagree with it, but I sense that people take this too far.
You believe that someone's bad, and will do bad things, and doesn't? You better not change your mind! Keep insisting that they're an awful person
Did someone you dislike do a good deed? Be sure to insist that it's dishonest, that it's fake, or that you actually were always opposed to that.
Is someone you dislike accused of something? Well, you obviously have to declare that person's guilt, and stay unconvinced even when an objective proof of innocence is presented.
Does some scientist declare something that you don't like? Best shout them down, harass them, and force them to stop talking about those "facts". Oh and of course, after proving to the world that scientists can be forced to just say stuff that people WANT to hear instead of the truth, insist that anyone who doesn't listen to scientists is stupid...
We spend our time being exposed to people around us, our families and friends. With the internet we're able to pick whom we want. This way we might befriend very similar people viewpoints... and yes, I get why that's so very tempting, but I feel like it poisons our minds, because people devote themselves more to their own viewpoints, which they believe religiously.
People feel like it's very tiresome to be concerned with things being factual, because being factually correct means potentially being wrong. This is why people prefer to start out with a belief and just agree with what agrees with them, while denying anything that disagrees with them.
People would really love to live in a binary black and white world, with no moral grayness. They're smart and good people, while those who disagree are dumb and bad... but that is not reality. That is not the world that we live in. People who want to improve the world, have to look at the truth, and not a distorted version of it. If you want to see a better version of reality, you have to be able to admit that your vision of the world is just that: your personal vision based on your perspective, one not shared by all people.
Nobody is always right... and yet I feel like now more than ever people want to insist that they are, and ... as the saying goes "pride comes before a fall"

I'm returning
General | Posted 5 years agoWell, I spoke with my therapist and have followed her advise. I'm returning to the site.
Even if I feel like the whole fandom is slowly turning into what I tried to escape from ... I do derive some joy from it, so I should stay.
I will never truly be part of the community, but I guess I was never meant to be part of any community.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
General | Posted 5 years agoHey, I just want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, and let everyone know that yes indeed, 2020 will be over soon. We're done, and we're moving another a new year. I wish that for myself and all of you.

Self reflecting
General | Posted 5 years agoYou know... I often hear big sentences like:
"If you don't ____, then you are a bad person"
"Only intelligent people would _____"
"It is the moronic low IQ people who ______"
"If you call yourself a good person, then you better _______"
People put some stuff up as factors that determine whenever someone is smart/dumb, good/dumb. It feels like a requirement, like a test to pass in order for people to respect you. Almost like a lion tamer cracks his whip at you and demands that you jump through a burning ring of fire, or else!
It is often said that everyone considers themselves to be good and smart, however I don't think this counts for me. I often saw myself as a real dumb person of inferior intelligence to everyone, and being a bad person kind of seemed to fit me. I always saw it as a reverse engineered faith in karma. Normally it's like "Good things happen to good people", but I view it as "I'm pretty unlucky, sad and lonely, so I'm probably a bad person".
All these sort of statements that I listed before have a weird effect on me. If am in the "bad/dumb" side of an argument, then I don't feel insulted, nor that I should change my ways, it's more like "Yes, you're right, I'm sorry that I exist". In situations where I am in the "good/smart" side of an argument is actually makes me second-guess my position, because I can in no way be smart, so perhaps I should be supporting a different viewpoint.
