Disgust in the fandom
General | Posted 7 years agoI realize that this may be a dumb topic, one that I did bring up before if I recall correctly, but it’s been on my mind, so I’m bringing it up.
I’ve seen people proclaim that they are leaving the fandom. Now sure, some mock them, because “Oh you still have a fursona! “ or “You still have an account!”. However something to consider here is that there exist people who have all that, go to conventions, but still choose to not label themselves as furries. I used to think it was weird, but especially in light of the people recently abandoning the fandom, I get it.People don’t want to connect them to tighly to the community, the culture surrounding it...
Now, of course, people are free to laugh about this, call this childish, or maybe even hipster-like, because they think it’s just being done to get attention…. However I wish to point to something different, namely the crowd that causes people to leave. They take these declarations of abandonment very seriously. You see, sometimes it’s cases where it’s some long time contributor to the fandom, whom simply does not sit well with the newer crowd.
A person who dedicated several years of their lives to the fandom is leaving, annoyed by the toxic crowd that joined, sick and tired of all the drama that was brought to the furry community, and so they abandon it. The people who led to this….. Are overjoyous. They feel happy, they feel that by ruining this fandom for people like him, they made it better. I even saw someone say that “Once we remove jerks like him out of the fandom, we’ll have a fine community”.
I wish to say something to all the people with that mindset: You are wrong!
Your pursuit is not going to work. You will always find someone you don’t like, and whom you’ll be able to say “This place would a lot better if they were not here”. I often get to interact with people who annoy me. You know what I do? I ignore them. I move on with my life. If it was a person who’d be unbearable, I’d block them. Often times people could just do that, but to them, that’s not enough. In their opinion, the fact that they don’t like this specific person means that NOBODY should like them. Nobody should follow them, enjoy their stuff. So your goal is to trash them until they leave this fandom, supposedly to make it more … inclusive.
Tell you what, when I joined the fandom back in the day, I thought things were very inclusive. Things that I’d get mocked for in offline life were ok here. It was all peaceful, friendly… but all of a sudden this new generation comes along, claiming that things are not inclusive enough, and the only way to improve is to make things more exclusive! The only way to make people feel more welcome here, is by making clear rules that some people are not welcome here.
People who say things that some people don’t like
People with different political views
People who are said to have done this or that, evidence not needed
If you claim that you cannot handle the idea that a fandom that you are a part of, has people in it, who have different worldviews than you, and you most likely wouldn’t get along with them, then sorry, but you do not qualify as an adult. You are a child! A child that cannot grasp how the world works, and is incapable of functioning in it. Someone who feels that things like morality are not a question of what someone does to someone else, but rather… who does something to whom. Basically preaching that certain people are above the rules and should be allowed to do anything to the inferior ones. Harassment, doxing, destroying anything someone else enjoys, and basically acting like an inhuman vile scumbag……. Are all fine, as long as you do these things to someone you dislike.
That is sick and wrong. If this is the grounds on which you wish to rebuild the fandom, then I want no part in it.

It's about Drakengard, an incredibly weird game, that I had planned to cover on my own review show, but being too busy, I just became a Patreon supporter, cheering on Tom, hoping he's make the video someday, and that day finally arrived, so rejoice with me!

I might need a new graphic tablet - need advise
General | Posted 7 years agoI recently formatted my Hard Drive, reinstalled things, and have issues with getting my tablet running. It's no longer on sale, so here's a Reddit post with its picture:
https://www.reddit.com/r/wacom/comm.....stylus_of_the/
It's called "Bamboo Pen" .... what a stupid name. It's so generic that I had issues finding things about it throughout the years. ANYWAY, Windows 10 has issues supporting it. I was annoyed about the idea of buying a new one, but as I noticed, I bought this old thing in November of 2011! That's over 8 years ago!!!
Guess it's time for an upgrade, so I was wondering if anybody can offer some advise about that.
Thanks in advance!

Need some psychological help
General | Posted 7 years agoI'm writing something once again, cause it's a concern of mine, and while I could start searching for some answers, I felt like being open about it, and getting some advise from someone this way could be worth a try.
So for around 10 years, I've been trying to get to Germany. Had a huge dream related to it. In Autumn 2016 it became a reality, but after a year I had to admit to myself that the job that I had wasn't for me, so I've returned to Poland, and have been trying to get my shit together, start work as a programmer..... which didn't work yet, but I'm working on it.
Anyway, the big major issue is that I've seemingly lost all of my passion, and by that I don't mean that I have an art block, or that struggle with ideas, I mean things like:
-My comic is just a huge "How do I end it?" question
-My video review show just makes me think of questions like "What videos do I still want to make before I quit?"
-My future job is not something to give me perspectives for the future. I seem ok with the idea of getting a mediocre, boring job, as long as it's easy, and can make enough to make a living. No big major ambitions
-Me living with my parents doesn't stress the Hell out of me, like it did years ago, it's just "Well, I don't need to pay rent, so whatever"
-Me getting romantically involved with anyone, or even just interacting with people offline sounds like a hassle to me, so I just stay in my room/house all the time.
I've truly sank into a state where days just go by. I am in a quite neutral state, where nothing changing does not depress me, where I feel no fear for tomorrow, but at the same time, I also feel no passion or excitement for it either. It feels less like life, and more like I'm vegetating.
Literally, just the other day, a friend asked me if I'd like to create video games, cause as a programmer, I should be able to do it. Sounded fun, I said that maybe I would, which then prompted the question of what kind of games I'd like to make, and it just ended in silence, cause I was just probably thinking of it as a good idea in terms of "me making a game for someone else". I have no ideas of my own. All the dreams and passion projects on the table right now are things from my past, and all of them I look at as projects, which I seem to want to finish as soon as possible, to not have them bother me anymore.
Not sure what this is, if it's just me being unemployed for so long, or if it's the fact that things didn't work with Germany, so now I'm drained of all hope. I don't know what it is, and I don't even want to expect anyone reading this to give me an answer, but if anyone could give me some suggestion as to what this could be, so I could start looking for answers, that would already be a lot, and I'd be very grateful.
Thank you

Forcing you to play in a specific way
General | Posted 7 years agoI am a big fan of jRPGs, and I noticed how some games have weird design decisions behind them, which heavily impact how you play the game. Let’s go to the very first Final Fantasy game!
In that game your characters increase their attributes as they level up (kind of randomly), BUT at some point in the game, your characters evolve: Black Mages become Black Wizards, Thieves turn into Ninjas, etc. This causes them to gain more stats once they evolve, but that implies that the end game stats could be vastly different, if a player were to evolve his/her characters much earlier. A player who knows this, will be motivated to NOT grind, enter as few battles as possible, not waste any time if possible, evolve as fast as possible, and then they could grind away and have stronger characters. This felt like a pretty weird choice to me, cause the game has a random encounter system, where you cannot control the number of fights you get into, aside from just going straight to fight a boss, or the like. BUT OK, first game in the franchise, they made an early mistake! They would never…. Oh dear!
Final Fantasy 6 had a system where characters gain stats to begin with, but they gain extra stats if they have an Esper equipped. Espers sadly get unlocked quite a bit into the game, so you know what that means: Reach that point with the lowest level possible, and then…. STILL be careful with leveling, cause the Espers from later will give you more stat gains. And again: Random Encounters, making this kind of tricky.
I could name other examples, like Junctioning/Drawing Magic in FF8, or the Sphere Grid in FF10, or I could even go outside the Final Fantasy franchise, but the point remains the same:
These games introduce something, which makes the game a bit more complicated in a bad way.
-I could just dash through the dungeon, kill everything in sight, but it would be more beneficial to avoid battles
-I could crush the enemies as fast as possible, but the game wants me to instead use this mechanic
-Yeah, I keep winning every fight no problem, but I won’t win if I keep this character low-level, so I better use him/her anyway
These games force us to play a specific way, or rather, punish us for NOT playing how the designers wanted us to play. Naturally this is a rather broad range of games, and the examples I mentioned are not equal. Some stuff is of no consequence, you can catch-up, or if not, then the drawbacks are only minimal. Still, I felt like mentioning it, just cause it’s something that I noticed.
Whatever, silly thoughts!

About losing some of the former spark
General | Posted 7 years agoPerhaps it is pointless of me to bring it up, but I had been reflecting on some things, so I’ll write this anyway.
I was looking over some pictures on FurAffinity, and among them was one of someone’s super buff fursona. Very run of the mill, and yet for some reason I stopped and wondered “Didn’t I used to dream of having such pictures in my gallery?”. Back when puberty was a thing in my life, it all felt so great, big, major, important, but not so much anymore.
Oh look, here, I just spend 70$ on a picture. Guess I can put it in my gallery now, and …. Have some power fantasy? I would surely have ideas for images, but some of the ones that I could potentially be super interested in would be entire scenes, comics, which would cost so much, that I’d rather keep it, even if I have the funds.
Of course, there’s the whole argument of me being capable of drawing myself. I could just do everything on my own, but then I think of my comic. Sure, I certainly feel kind of burned out on it lately, but even then, comparing the option of comic VS yiff, I’d still go for the comic, cause it just feels more fulfilling.
It might sound like a contradiction, because my comic will be read once and likely forgotten afterwards, while an older spicy picture would reside in my gallery, it would be found by plenty of people and all that, but I feel like I’d get much less pleasure from it. Making people laugh or smile with my comic feels like a real major achievement, while making someone happy, or should I say … horny, with a yiffy picture feels like shooting fish in a barrel. It would only really be something to do for myself, my own happiness from it, which I don’t exactly feel would be the case.
This whole mentality makes me feel like an outsider to the furry fandom, as I seem to be committing the act of heresy.
-not caring about yiff images of your fursona
-not engaging in roleplay
-not going to conventions
-not wanting to take part in orgies
-not being afraid of spending the rest of one’s life without having sex
True, granted, I still get aroused, and I do occasionally get some wild sexual fantasies, but they are very fleeting: “Yeah, sure, last night I had a wild fantasy of having sex with a God-like entity, but I have to get up and work on my website”. I get the feeling that to a lot of furries, that whole realm of fantasy might be their goal, what they dream of becoming a reality, but to me, it’s just a short moment of time-out before going to bed.
I don’t know, maybe this is a good change? Maybe it means I’ve matured, or maybe it means that I’m losing that youthful spark, that some people hold onto their entire lives. I don’t know, but I also don’t really feel like it would prevent me from being happy.
Just felt like saying that. Thanks for reading!

Games crash when plugging headphones in/out
General | Posted 7 years agoAmong other computer related issues, I have a re-occuring problem with several video games crashing when I plug the headphones in or out. This has not been a problem on my old laptop, it only began to be an issue ever since I switched to a desktop.
I blame the general setup, when the speakers of the monitor qualify as an entirely different sound source than the headphones, and when the game losing its previous sound source, there's an error and it crashes. I was wondering if there was some way to prevent this from happening

My opinion on the FFXIV Blue Mage reveal
General | Posted 7 years agoFeel free to skip this one. What I am about to write is surely of no interest to a majority of my followers, as it related to Final Fantasy XIV, a MMORPG that I enjoy playing. A MMORPG set in the Final Fantasy franchise, utilizing a lot of jobs featured in other games of the franchise. One of my very favorites was Blue Mage, a unique job that used spells and abilities that originally belonged to monsters. Being an all rounder job, a lot of people assumed that the job would never make it into FFXIV, as the game works with concrete “roles”, and by that I mean: Tank, Healer, Damage Dealer. However when Stormblood introduced Red Mage, which always was a sword-wielding mix of white and black mage, many started to wonder if the developers wouldn’t think of a way to include Blue Mage. And yes, indeed, as the next expansion was teased at this year’s Fan Festival, it was revealed that Blue Mage was coming, and more shockingly, we won’t have to wait for it till the expansion, we’ll already get it in January 2019. It felt like Square Enix was giving me a birthday present. My beloved job enters the game!
However details about the job were revealed during the next day, and the whole entire playerbase seem to have been split in half over their opinion about Blue Mage, as one half is now utterly disappointed and upset, while the other remains optimistic.
To explain: They say that Blue Mage is “limited”. This means that Blue Mage won’t be allowed into Roulettes of any kind, Roulettes like the ones you do daily, where you’re matched with random players and go into dungeons or trials. It shall be a job leveled through soloing, with the EXP gained being increased significantly to make this a legit method for EXPing. It shall be the first combat job with a significantly different playstyle from the rest. Plenty of people do not like this.
I’d like to begin my opinion on this by stating a simple fact that has to be remembered: There will always be people that like an addition, and those who don’t. People being accused of other being dumb sheep who like everything, or dumb haters who are never happen. There is always a lot of drama about anything. If Blue Mage were to be a standard job, then whichever role you’d assign it, people would have reasons to complain:
-Tank? Bah, but it’s a mage! Blue Mages never wore armor! And just how many defensive spells did Blue Mage have?! This is so wrong!
-Healer? Come on! Not that many people play healers! Besides, Blue Mage only had a few supportive spells! Don’t waste such a classic on them!
-DPS? Damage Dealer? Yeeesh, we have too many of them already! Cut it out! You wasted such an opportunity, by turning an all rounder into a dumb DPS!!!!
The way I see it, Red Mage had the benefit of just being a mix of healer and damage dealer. You could easily just use a few offensive White Mage spells, and give RDM a cure and a resurrection spell, and bam, you got it!
Blue Mage poses a risk, where they are also known for some abilities of a tank. They are even more of an all rounder! Games like FFXI even made them out to be flexible, only given the ability to equip a limited number of spells at a time, and specific combinations giving you different passive skills, which made the job very unique, but also hard to balance, and during searching parties, you had little knowledge of what the Blue Mage that you might recruit will be like. Could be someone who learned all the spells, someone who knows the job real well and can utilize it perfectly, or someone who doesn’t have neither.FFXIV makes this even more of a challenge, given how higher level dungeons are locked out to players who don’t have strong enough gear, and that most abilities are obtained by leveling, only a few being behind the completion of quests. This gives players much more certainty that when a player appears, they’re at least fairly ok prepared, and got at least of their needed utilities. With Blue Mage, you’d have to question the player’s entire spell collection…. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE JOB LAUNCHES!
So here’s the 2 possible approaches to take with the job the way I see it:
-simplify Blue Mage as much as possible. Turn him into a blue colored Red Mage. Make it just another job. Ignore all the lore of the job, and just have it be another mage, and players can just feel like they are a Blue Mage based on the name and spells
-try to make it as true to the original idea of the Blue Mage as possible, and simply create balance by not allowing Blue Mage into regular normal parties with other players
They went with the latter, and I see 2 groups of people who hate this:
-people who did want Blue Mage in the game, had an exact image of how it’d work in the game (most likely a blue Red Mage), and this clearly does not match it
-people who may have not wanted Blue Mage, but hate the idea of this direction, of creating content for people who solo
To address the first point: I feel like wanting just another job, which is basically the same as another, but just with minor differences is a path that cannot lead us far. We have so many variants of jobs already. It’s becoming harder and harder to come up with something new, and so we got this bold new choice. One that could potentially solve a lot of questions about the implementation of other complicated jobs into the game.
I did actually meet a few people who were in agreement about this, seeing the benefit of this experimentation, however they claim that Blue Mage is not suitable for this role, and it’s something more suited for an Onion Knight. Which is a fair point, but for one….. I have not heard a single person clammer for an Onion Knight, nor a Mime… Blue Mage was actually requested, and does have that element of being flexible. So to me, it makes sense to have this be the guinea pig for such an experiment. Not Dancer, Time Mage, Geomancer, or… Gunblade-tank, whatever, but Blue Mage.
As for the second: Yes, I understand, it’s odd to see this kind of progression, and it feels kind of risky to split it up, where Blue Mages could be very restricted from participating in a lot of the content. Would the Devs be forced to create content for this job specifically, or would this in the end just be a job for solo stuff like Beast tribes, and no real use outside of it? A job to just do things solo, cause barely anybody would form parties with them?
I admit that my biggest concern is the prospect of someone trying to “main BLU”. Going through the story, you’d get a mission requiring you to go through a dungeon or trial, then you would have no other option than to use some other job. That is a worry of mine…. However that’s what it is: a worry. It’s not a fact, it’s not set in stone.
I see a problem with how fierce the arguments get, where both sides yell at each other, dismissing their arguments with “That’s just speculation! You don’t know that!”, which is extra silly for someone making loud remarks, cause….. IT’S ALL SPECULATION! We don’t know anything! It could go either way! You can’t dismiss something as a speculation, when your own words are speculation.
I admit, I’m slightly more positive on the issue, because I predict 4 possible Scenarios:
-The job gets made and proves to be good, fun, and played by many people, opening the door for more flexible jobs
-The job gets made, does… ok, but does get its restrictions on content removed, perhaps by specifically dictating that specific skills are for specific roles, and you could dictate what role you currently are, or some other means, which would dictate the direction of future flexible jobs
-The job proves to be bad, and gets turned into the stock mage that many people wanted from the start
-The job proves to be bad, stays that way, and nobody will play it
Only the last scenario is truly bad, and it’s …. Having a job that nobody plays. How does that hurt the game’s community? I feel like even that is not all that horrendous! Quite frankly, I feel like there’s even upsides to this, I mean people talk all sort of trash about content like Diadem or Eureka. A lot of talk about how nobody plays the former, and predictions of how nobody will play the latter in a few years. WELL, Blue Mage is designed to be soloed, so even if it’s a flop, if in 5 years someone decides to play it, they will be able to. They’ll be able to solo it. To me, even if it is to be trash, puts it in a better position than a lot of content.
Listen, I don’t want to take away anyone’s right to not like this change, but I know how much backlash this game got in the past after announcements of certain things (I mean… remember how White Mage was supposed to be DEAD with Stormblood????), and that made me remember to not judge things before they arrive.
TRUE, I won’t deny that my joy and excitement were now replaced by cautious optimism, but I see potential in this, as many others do. So I’m just saying “we’re going to have to live and see”. Could be good, could be bad, but even if bad, it could get fixed, and even the worst possible outcome is no end of the world. At least that will stop me making what-ifs on the possibility of Blue Mage coming over, heh.
That’s my 3 cents.

The Birthday day is to-day
General | Posted 7 years agoHey, it's November the 17th again, so it's time for my Birthday. It's the 31st one this time. Life feels weird, like everything is moving around, while I seem to stand still, but that's not here or there. I have to try and get my act together.
Thank you everybody for sticking with me, and being there for me in times of need. You are all amazing people.
By the way, wish
hasani a happy birthday too. We both celebrate it on the same day!

General | Posted 7 years agoThere's been something on my mind: Freedom is looked down upon in recent times. I don't mean that in the end of "not being imprisoned or enslaved", I'm talking about "the right to act, speak, or think as one wants".
Before I start properly, I wish to note that I am not writing this with the idea of criticizing a particular political view. What I say can apply to any ideology and comes with extremism. Even if what I complain about might, in the current age, apply more towards one side, I merely wish to criticize the methods used, not the system of beliefs itself.
Of course the “right to act” does not include criminal activities, full freedom can never be achieved in that regard, however the right to speak or think should be a given. Yes, possibly if you do say something that someone finds offensive, but it used to be a very rare thing to happen, because you could just move on with your life and ignore stuff.
But as a new generation grows up, they see things differently. If someone says something they don’t like, then that is grounds for removing that person from whatever position they held.
Many major websites are now all about deleting content, removing, silencing people who are deemed as offensive. Now of course I know plenty of people will say that they have to! People say such offensive and hateful things! However I noticed a lot of issues with this approach.
People do not want to give the person a chance to apologize or explain themselves. If you get accused of something, then you need to be punished. Taking the possibility of innocence into consideration would be unjust! Someone said something, so it must be true!
I often see situations where someone is accused of something, and the crowds don’t questions if it is true, nr what the exact offensive thing was. The accusation is enough, OUT WITH THEM! We do not need proof! Bah, we don’t even want proof of anything! It was said, so it is the truth!
It’s never a matter of someone just moving on their lives, not following someone anymore, no, if someone anywhere says something someone else doesn’t like, then it is to be removed. Even if there is a crowd of people who don’t think there’s anything wrong, the loud minority has to be right.
And naturally we have some hypocrisy, where certain people can get away with really offensive stuff, because IT WAS JUST A JOKE, LOL, I wasn’t literally talking about raping baby corpses, but I mean, that guy who called me a dum-dum, now that’s offensive and genuine hate!
And yes, of course, I don’t blame people for giving me some glares now, cause it sounds like I’m trying to criticize a good cause, and I’m just out there to defend nasty people. But let me put this into perspective.
Here we talk about social media websites, services, major corporations, perhaps TV stations and the like. Tell me: Are these trustworthy people?
Do people think of Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, in a positive light? I keep hearing people call him “the real life Lex Luthor”. People keep talking about how evil Google or YouTube are, just being all about the money, screwing over regular people, favoring big corporations! Or what about TV stations? Last I checked, TV is met with the lowest trust it ever had! People call them liars and greedy cheaters, but when they say that someone is a bad person, many instinctively say “Yes, that must be true. This person must be evil, and he/she has to be removed for our safety. There is no way that can be an exaggeration. These people and organisations who lie and deceive people are surely speaking the truth, and are not manipulating the facts around for their own benefit. I trust the moral viewpoints of these immoral people”
I talk a lot about this, because I see major problems with this approach. I’m certain that some people see the hypocrisy, they see the problem, however they excuse it, permit it to happen, “for the greater good”. Once again, I do not want to disregard what you are fighting for, but I wish to warn you what a slippery slope this particular stance is.
What if what you fought for becomes a reality, but you have some issues. I’m not saying you’ll realize that you are in a dystopian world. I just mean that things won’t turn out as great as you hoped. Maybe you see how other people have it better, while you feel that things haven’t improved at all for you, and you want to speak out that something isn’t exactly right. Well…. You’ll be silenced, because your viewpoint clashes with this perfect ideology. People will proclaim that you’re a hateful bigot, and everyone will believe it, and dismiss you.
Sure, I’ve heard tons of people proclaiming that “all voices shall be heard, everyone will have a right to speak”, but how true can that promise be, when you already silence people for thinking differently? Is your defense that you’d listen to the complains of the good people on the “right side”? Well, sorry to say, but I certainly know a ton of people who were on the “right side”, and suffered consequences for not “obeying things 100%”. This is exactly what leads to oppressive and tyrannical governments.
I hear a lot of people proclaims that they “won’t repeat the mistakes of the past”, when they already are…. And it shocks me how people ignore it, or permit it “for the greater good”. They wish to let go of freedom, for the sake of being protected from some boogeyman, a boogeyman that I never saw, whom never did anything to me…. But the other side? The supposed good guys? They certainly rubbed me the wrong way several times….. The constant excuses that they do bad things with “good intentions”, and that the supposed bad guys are doing good things, just to deceive me… I’m not buying it any longer!
You may think that by giving away your freedom, you are offering up your blood for a more noble cause, to bring greatness to the world, but I assure you, history has time and time again taught us, that exchanging freedom for the supposed security, only leads to misery, and people should not forget that.

Combustion Titlescreen revealed
General | Posted 7 years agoUrgent graphics card issue
General | Posted 7 years agoI have a friend with a problem: He updated his Windows 10, and all of a sudden, the computer doesn't want to launch. We thought that it could be related to bootres.dll, but after checking much much more stuff, it turned out that his graphic card (GTX Titan) has problems with this new update. He launched the Safe Mode, and managed to roll back, before the update, but things still are not working. He tried to reinstall the graphics card, but it does not work. Even in Safe mode, his computer does freeze during the installation, and nothing moves forward.
He did a clean reinstallation, but there is always a crash when installing the graphic card drivers. Whatever drivers he uses, it keeps crushing.
I want to ask if anybody has a clue as to what could be done to fix this issue.

Programming related issue
General | Posted 7 years agoI would like to get some input from people about something sort of programming related:
I was working on some list of techniques that can be learned by characters in a particular video game (as in: having learned one technique is required to learn another), hence why it's in the form of a list in a tree structure. However the game goes more complex, as all characters have classes, 16 overall, and it's declared upfront that some characters cannot learn certain techniques, which makes it kind of complicated to present, and I'm unsure about how I should present it.
1) Just a list, right next to a table, which would show who can learn what
2) 16 seperate lists for each and every class (this would give better overview on what you can learn with all of your characters that you currently have, but would make it more of a hassle, if your goal is to just learn a particular technique)
3) Turn some of these above into a Google Docs document that anybody could download to their machine and fill it out themselves. I'd use some data to have one technique be referenced elsewhere, have it all be connected.
4) Create a website, where the player is able to click on checkboxes to tell which techniques have already been learned, and which haven't, and then maybe tell the player which characters could help them learn further techniques, AND/OR make a check, which of the current characters in the party could let the player learn which techniques. To keep the data contained, instead of creating accounts for everyone, there'd be a password system, where people can just copy and later paste the password somewhere to quickly load that initial state..... not sure how to do that yet, but it sounds doable to me.
Thanks for the help, I am asking around to avoid doing too much work when I could keep everything real simple.

Simulating intense computer work
General | Posted 7 years agoMy laptop seems to have a problem with the fan. After a bit, it gets loud. When I have a modern game turned on, it just takes 30 minutes for it to get nasty. HOWEVER when I send it to a technician who spend THREE weeks with it, he just cleaned the fan and returned it, saying everything is fine.
HOW would one present very quick evidence that my laptop releases worrisome sounds after some time, so that the person actually checks that? Is there some software to simulate intense work?

Headphone issue
General | Posted 7 years agoI've got myself a new computer, and I had some issues with the sound. The monitor has build-in speakers, and with them it does work all right, but the quality leaves a lot to be desired, so I did use my headphones, however I noticed that I hear a silent screeching sound sometimes when nothing is on, or that when playing certain games there's a bit of silent static around. All of this is in the background, so when a lot of things are playing loudly, I don't hear it (either it's being drawn out, or cause it doesn't play then).
I tried to test this with a different, older pair of headphones, but the problem persists. I thought that it could be a driver problem. Going into the device manager, I notice 3 under sound:
-2 from NVIDIA
-and one is just a compatible device with High Definition Audio
All have quite up to date drivers, and only the last is from Microsoft.
Could anyone offer some advise?

About feminism
General | Posted 7 years agoHere's a question that I won't go too deep into:
Is feminism a movement that has never ever changed from its inception, or has it been changing with time, and so it can truly be split into waves?
And if it can be split into waves, is it fair to take issue with the way a particular wave went/goes about things?
And if it isn't fair, is it because all are equally good, despite being different, or is the logic that the newest one is supposedly "the best" ?

Twisted modern idea of morality
General | Posted 7 years agoIn recent times I noticed a certain tendency. As you look online, especially on social media sites, you see tons of people posting, sharing stuff to keep reminding everyone of their stance and beliefs. It is something that some label as „virtue signalizing”, and I do believe that the demeening phrase is often deserved.
„So many poor children in Africa, starving! Oh this is so sad!”
Me: Yeah, it is... so? What will you do about it? Are you going to donate to some charity? How is you sharing this post going to make any bit of difference?
„If you don't like or share this post, then it means you hate gay people!”
Me: …. why would I care about the opinion of someone who calls me as homophobic for not clicking a button on some stupid post?
„I'm promoting this new show, cause it features a deaf character, and I think it's about time we get a show that represents these people!”
Me: Why? How does a show that has a deaf character help deaf people? How does it make their lives easier?
„It raises awareness!”
ah yes, that word „raising awareness”. Look at me, I'm just liking and sharing thing, preaching a message to the choir. Telling people to like and share my post, so more people can be aware that such people exist, and do nothing more! I'm a real hero!!!
You know, I mostly care about what my friends and close ones think of me. I try to be supportive, helpful to them.... it doesn't always work. I'm clumsy and dumb, but at the end of the day, that's what I want to achieve. I want those around me to like me for who I am, and hopefully think of me as a friend who's there for them. Everybody else who just follows me on social media can think of me what they want. I appreciate the support, but I don't feel like I should be striving to look pure in the eyes of people with whom I'll most likely never interact with.
However I now see so many people who are not concerned with being seen or feeling like good people for their actions towards individuals that they know, but through actions or more properly said IN-actions towards target demographics. Empty and hollow signs of support, just to look so virtuous. It really reminds me of celebrities giving money to charity or making big speeches lecturing people to do things which they themselves don't do. But of course, just point out how dumb this all is, and all of a sudden you're a hater, because only a hateful bigot would want to offer legit help.
Just felt like writing this out there. Thank you for your attention.

Drawing Anniversary
General | Posted 7 years agoIt occurred to me that I had my 13th anniversary of the day that I began drawing just yesterday on Wednesday, September 4th. For years I kept thinking I should do something incredibly special for that day, considering how 13 is my lucky number, but I actually ended up doing nothing, and forgetting about it, as I was on vacation, visiting some of my friends............
OH WELL!!!! :p
OH WELL!!!! :p
Issues with playing videos
General | Posted 7 years agoGot a problem: My brand new computer, which is super quick, does have issues with playing videos, whenever its a video file or a YouTube video, it tends to have small short hang-ups, where sounds stops playing for a second, and I know that when I use a lot of processing power, it leads to the sound and picture getting out of sync, and I need to pause, so it can catch up. I'm not at all sure what's going on. Does anyone have any ideas?
I object to Political Correctness
General | Posted 7 years agoFor those unaware, recently the film director James Gunn, probably recently most known for directing the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, was fired by Disney for several jokes he wrote on Twitter long ago about raping children. Years ago, the company found out about them, he apologized, but some journalists dug them up again, and this time there was no backing out. Fans of his work like me signed petitions to get him re-hired. Since then there’s been news that it’s not happening, but they might use his script, now some speculation that it could happen… I myself hope for the best, but am prepared for the worst.
A friend of mine said that the firing was deserved, because James Gunn was in high support of the firing of Roseanne for her messages, saying that ABC has every right to fire her if they deem what she said offensive….. And a few weeks later, with Disney deeming something James Gunn wrote offensive and firing her. My friend said it only seems fair, and James should be more than happy to accept that.
I admit that at the time when I heard him say that, I was really was scared of losing the chance to see the third movie in a movie in a franchise that I adore so much, but I have since calmed down. YES, the movie will likely still happen, so… I’ll live.
People are upset at this whole thing, and I hear individuals on the left blame it all on right-wingers or the alt-right specifically. Oh, it’s them, they did it! They are coming after one of our own! Which… ok, let’s assume that’s the case, it’s the right-wingers… Isn’t this them using your own logic? I have seen all the arguments being used… frick, I used some of them myself:
-James Gunn apologized already - Oh really? So when someone apologizes for saying something, you accept it? Forgive and forget? You never dismissed someone’s apology and demanded punishment regardless?
-That was from 10 years ago! - So you promise that you’ve never ever ever hunted someone down for something done in the long distant past? You never ignored the fact that people change?
-He was joking! He wasn’t serious! - Context matters? Once again: can you claim that you’ve never deemed something to be so offensive to where context does not matter?
-He was being vague, he wasn’t talking about an individual, he just said baby for shock value! - Oh really, then I assume you are perfectly ok with jokes about raping women. What? It’s vague! About a WOMAN! Not someone specific
AGAIN, I used some of these myself, but you know why I have a firmer ground to stand on when I use them? I NEVER DEMANDED ANYBODY TO BE FIRED FOR ANYTHING OF THE LIKE! I am not a hypocrite when I say these! I can’t say the same about many of the people signing the petition.
I’m no longer as liberal as I was, because of this new focus on political correctness (amongst other things). I hate the idea of a world where people who don’t meet the moral standards are to be fired immediately with no chance of defending themselves.
Naturally the most hypocritical of the bunch outright say that these new rules were put into place to fight right-wingers and not left-wingers, which is outright admitting that it’s not about protecting the innocent, but rather using them as a means to fire people they don’t like. Just shameful.
If this is indeed the work of some right wingers, then they are just using the same tools that are used against them, which I can’t deny is fair. AND YET, despite all the talk about it being the right, pushing everything towards that side, screaming that its them, them them….. I still did see a few liberal voices say that, even if we feel regret about this, we should take this as a lesson:
We should never write offensive things, if we do, there will be consequences.
Wise words, aren’t they? The rules of what is politically correct and what isn’t, are always the same, right? They never ever change! Now and 100 years ago? Exactly the same! People never change, never say anything dumb accidentally. If you are sorry about something, then you wouldn’t do it in the first place!
Tell you what, I have another proposition: Let’s throw Political Correctness under the bus!
Let us stop with this witch hunt! I do not care about some joke someone wrote ages ago! There are so many people guilty awful actions, but here we are, hunting down people for words. For supposedly hurting someone’s feelings. GEEE, somehow, despite all the talk about sadness, depression and sorrow, all I see, is a bunch of loud angry furious dogs.
I realize this is going into a slightly different direction, but I still want to say it:
I remember how there was a time when I used to be shy…. Well, shy-ER than now. I was so quiet and nervous to where people suspected that I might be mentally handicapped (I’m not kidding). I was so madly nervous of speaking up, and making someone upset.
I did end up talking with a few people over the years who had this whole mindset of political correctness, always explaining how the words that I used are offensive, or that me appreciating something is bad, because it’s “problematic”.I even tried to bring up how uncomfortable I’m starting to feel, but all I got to hear was… that I have to learn! I should just get that certain topics and words are taboo, because they might hurt someone’s feelings, and if I actually want to have friends, I should act this way. It then hit me, that these people would prefer if I became like the old me. Afraid of speaking up, hiding in the corner, avoiding eye contact, afraid of having everybody hate me. That did not give me any friends, happiness or anything good in the end. Besides, I know my real friends, who don’t care about any of that. This is why I choose to keep them close, and those who wish to control me, saying that I have to talk and act in a specific way, or else they won’t like me, as far away from me as I possibly can. Life is too short to waste with such dreadful people.
