Hey everyone!

The winter olympics have started, and it's a special one for me...

Someone I know (or rather, knew) is competing, Kwame Nkrumah-Acheampong, the snow leopard.

I used to work with him a few years back, no one really took him seriously when he said he really enjoyed skiing and wanted to do so competatively.

He learned to ski on an indoor slope just a few minutes from where I live, here in Milton Keynes, didn't qualify for the 2006 winter olympics, but he's made it to the 2010s! It was awesome to see him in the parade at the opening ceremonies :)

And he qualified on ability too, this isn't just some "take pity on the country who only sent one guy in" qualification... He won his spot, fair and square!

Seriously, please... He's in the Men's Giant slalom on Feb 21st and the Men's Slalom on the 27th.

Watch for him!

Okay, seriously...

It's freezing outside, that nasty kind of wet cold that gives frost overnight, but then just hangs as an icy mist as you try and get to work (When you cycle, it's really nasty)...

Argument with Mum made me late for work... and it was one of those stupid ones (You know the kind that ends in "You know, that argument would wash when I was maybe twelve... I'm thirty two now, get bent."

Work sucked in that way that work tends to.

College started tonight, and they're teaching something I used to do for a job... So on eight and a half hours of boring of work... Wolf dinner down and drive (now in the snow) to college for another 3 hours of boring.

So... in a day of all this dreary bitchworthy news, why am I laughing?

Well, the whole family had an equally shit day, actually... But something arrived in the post this morning... Just dance on the wii...

Li'l sis and Dad were too chicken... or perhaps too damn English to dump their inhibitions in the bin... So it was just me and Mum who put aside our differences and decided to break out the silly.

Seriously, there is nothing like bouncing around in a living room with a low ceiling, flailing like a pair of windmills on castors in a hurricane for a half hour... It utterly blows away frustration... and will lay waste to the surrounding area.

I think I can repair the lampshade... And we're having a rematch tomorrow after Mum's had a chance to practice...

Seriously... if they sell enough copies of this, cities will fall just on the strength of bodies colliding with the scenery. This is one game where they are -SERIOUS- when they say you should have ample space!

Oh boy...

So yeah, Beatles Rockband hit the shelves a few days ago... and I thought "meh! I've always been more of an Elvis fan anyhow." And I walked on past...

I even went so far as to grumble about the fact that it was the beatles instead of a mix of music from the 60's... and state that I probably wouldn't bother with the game...

And then a few days back, someone reminded me of just how many of their songs I enjoyed too... And I caved.

So the game started off a little dissapointing, as I'm a bad player, I was expecting more of a marked effect when I messed notes up and stuff, but the tune pretty much keeps going regardless... Or maybe I just have no ear for music and couldn't tell...

So yeah... To say I've been enjoying it is an understatement... But watch out... Kids my age possibly all grew up on the Yellow Submarine...

The opportunity to join in... However badly was just somehow magical.

Just for a few minutes, I was sitting there plugging away on a 3/4 size plastic imitation fender stratocaster toy guitar, with a big grin on my face bellowing away to "A little help from my friends" like a six year old thirty two year old :)

I have to say I was wrong about the game... It's a heck of a lot of fun and the music is awesome :)

Not often, but when it hits, it hits hard.

The best way I've found is through my tarot cards... I ask them how my characters are doing... Sometimes they tell me a story.

~Do you type or write by hand?
I type exclusively... I'm too prone to scrapping things otherwise.

Yes, but I often delete stuff that I don't like.

Many many times :)

Yes... I had people tell me they laughed at one of my funny stories... That's all the award I need.
Although, actually, I once wrote a story for a fanfic contest... But that was because the person organising it tried hard to get some writers in.. and only had one other submission. I felt bad for the other guy.

I'm afraid I favour happy endings... I HATE cliff-hangers... Utterly. I... Well, sad endings, if well written can be wonderfully done, but tend to hit me badly. I don't like 'em as they leave the characters in pain.
