To commemorate that, we're also reducing FA United 4 pre-registration prices by 10% for the next three days. Want to see FA v3.0 live, and be the first to see it? Now's your chance. You can save up to $15 on the cost of admission (and coupled with hotel rooms at the Marriott $10 cheaper than last year, there's no better time to do so!).

FA United 4 - Drawing Closer!
General | Posted 15 years agoDealer invoices and paperwork have gone out to all those interested in getting a Dealer's Table for FAU. Check your e-mails! =3 If, by chance, you're interested in a Dealer's Table and haven't contacted us/been contacted, send an e-mail to dealers2011@faunited.org. There aren't many tables left, so hurry!
In addition, we've sold out of near 50% our hotel block (at 5 months out, that's not too bad for a lil' con like us!). As a reminder, hotel rates at FAU 4 are $10 cheaper than they were last year. We've got pretty much the entire hotel to ourselves, so... =3

General | Posted 15 years agoWe are 'd. The Mt Laurel Marriott loves us so much, in fact, they've lowered our room rates from $119 to $109 a night!
That's a $30 savings over the course of the con (or for those alcoholics in the audience, about 5 cocktails worth of savings!)

The site for FAU:4 will launch October, 2010 at http://www.faunited.org.

FAU3 will take place at the Mariott on Rt 73 in Mt Laurel, NJ on May 28-30, 2010. This hotel is in a much nicer location than Newark (you can even see some trees!), with easier access to local food and attractions. Oh, and there's even a water park!
And yes, that's right -- 2010. We pushed FAU3 back to 2010 due to the economy. We saw where it was going, and felt a small con in 2009 would be a high risk.
By the way -- folks following faunited on Twitter heard it first! :)
We're still thinking of doing something small in 2009 (the much-rumored FAU2.5), but it's still in the planning stages.
In the meantime, we're still transitioning our website and email to a new host. So if you have any questions, send us a note here or a message on Twitter!

It's Alive!

I know, I know...it's been awful quiet over here. Never fear, though! FA: United is alive and well, and we'll be making some announcements about the convention shortly.
In the meantime, I wanted to post an update here as there have been some concerns. The website says it's suspended, yes... just a bit of a glitch as we transition our hosting. We'll have a new site up soon.
Until then, there's lots of ways to keep up on FA:U news!

First Look at the FA United 2008 T-Shirt
General | Posted 17 years agoLast year's shirt for FA United was universally declared to be all sorts of awesome, and I think it's safe to say that the 2008 shirt is even better.

What better way to celebrate the Power of Rock than with a rock concert t-shirt? Now, we're not giving away the full monty yet -- Fluke's incredible design will grace the front of our shirt, but the back won't be revealed until the day of the convention.
Also, we're still looking for contributions to our conbook. Artwork, poetry, short (1pg) stories, haiku, we'll take it all! We can't guarantee that everything we receive will end up in there, but we'll do our best. Send submissions to dragoneer[at]faunited.org - or just send us a note on FA.

More formally known as the Annual Anthropomorphic Literature and Arts Award, the Ursa Major Award is presented annually for excellence in the furry arts.
Blotch is up against Heather Bruton, Baron Engel, Sara Palmer, and Georgi Valchev in the "Best Published Illustration" category. We think Blotch's is the best one hands-down, but then, we've got an obvious bias.
You've got until April 20th to cast your vote!

Dealer Registration is Live!
General | Posted 18 years agoIt's been a long wait, and lots of you have been asking, so we're proud to announce that dealer registration for FA United 2008 is now open!
Last year's dealers had a great time, and this year should be even better. We've got a bigger and more convenient area, and more tables available. Plus, we're bringing back the FA Bucks!
A full table (6 feet long) can be yours for the weekend for $70, or you can take a half table for $40. That price includes Groupie-level registration for the rest of the con as well.
If you're interested in a table, or if you want to know more, send an email to dealers@faunited.org. We'll reserve a table for you, and answer all your questions!
