Anyone know artists currently doing icon commissions? I'm able to pay between $5 - $15 for some.
(so I guess, fairly cheap, I don't have much disposable income at the moment)

I've spent the last 5-6 days sleeping and curling up like a baby as I rode through bad mouth/tooth pains. Which... by now should be old hat for me. But it never feels any less painful, even as one tooth is pulled or simply stops hurting, and another flares up. :< So needless to say, I've gotten a whole lot of nothing done recently. Trying to rectify that.

Goodness knows my stomach is starting to turn because of it. So much for quickly emptying what was left of the little bit of Nutella I've been rationing. Blehhhh. lol

I sorta burned out doing any normal sized images. That is, waist-up or full body pictures. I can still draw busts/headshots well enough. And I can draw chibis just fine. But every time I try to draw anything more than that, it looks like crap and I get frustrated by it. Mostly because, not only do I have some things I want to draw for myself that I wish to be more than headshots, but I still have commissions to finish.

Any suggestions for getting back into the grove with more than busts and chibis?? 8|

In the mean time, I'll be entertaining myself with those things I can draw. So expect to see some stuff of that sort.

I'm really just curious, because I'd rather not make like ten different kinds right off the bat and throw them out there.

I honestly wouldn't mind doing things like this, because I desperately need the money. But I'd like to get some opinions first.

I'll be frank. I'm stressed out and having breakdowns right now. The last few days have been headaches and tears. And I'm trying to figure out what to do. Now, in the past, I've never taken enough commissions to bother recording the neglible amount of money I have made. (I'm aware that I should report that, but I've never worried about it because I've always had another job. So a random $11-$30 didn't seem that big of a deal.)

I am thinking about doing commissions, as best as I can anyway, as a full time job. But, the thought of paying taxes when I don't quite understand how it works as a freelancer, has me stressed out. I see a lot of people taking commissions, doing character actions, you name it, in great numbers. And it never seems like they are worried about paying their taxes the next year, blahblah.

My only other option (and I am already looking) is to get a normal job and just forget about the whole full time commissions thing. I'd still be willing to do them as a side thing, though, yes, they would take longer. Because I'd have to divide my work and play up so that I wasn't completely dull. lol Or burnt myself out.

So my question to others who do a lot of commissions, How do you save up to pay your taxes? How do you go about it in general? How are you able to afford to pay them?

If anyone is interested in potential FREE art at the moment (before I open commissions, hopefully next month) I need one or two OCs from here. Here's all you need to do for me so that I can do some commission examples using your lovely characters. Depending on how many I get, I may pick and choose. But if I only get one or two, then obviously I will use them.

Character: (provide me with a reference link or two)
Color: (provide me with ONE color, the character will be drawn in it)
Pose: (optional, but if you have one in mind let me know)
