Beginning to hate Dell at the moment. First I'll give what my point of view was, then what actually happened that I didn't learn till later:

----POV----

I ordered a computer, custom built from Dell. 2090 somod dollars. With the graphics out the -wazoo- and all the stuff I -crammed- into it, it was a really good deal. Now, I told them that the dollar amount could only come out around 700 or so at a time, so that it would be payed over a series of a few days.

It got delayed. Several times. Then, out of the blue, after I said I wanted it, they canceled it. When I called, they told me that they would basicly just redo my order.

Later, I check my statement at the ATM, and see:
Balance 2100
Available 10

So for three days I'm pissed, thinking that they charged me AGAIN for my computer, but that the 2000 bucks from the other one was coming down, right? So when I see my account is back up to 2100+ bucks, I'm happy. I go on vacation, buy a few things, then suddenly I'm told that my card isn't valid, and get a call from the bank that says on the 12th, Dell charged me for a computer

Those rotten bastards! They charged me AGAIN!! So i call them up and demand my money back, as I am now -1300 bucks in the -hole- They say they are paying me, but my bank sees no money and I can't get out of the hole until I get a lone ELSEWHERE to get out of it.

---What happened---
So after some investigating... what happened when I saw the 2100 balance, but 10 available, Dell had decided to freeze that portion of my money. Then they gave it back... ONLY to take it out as payment for my computer a whole MONTH AND A HALF after I placed the order, not back when I placed it. So even if they DO send the money (which they probably won't) I still have to pay for this computer.

---Conclusion---
I'm boned is basically what it comes down to. I have to survive now off of a quarter tank of gas, when I'm used to filling up once a week or every two weeks, depending on what work wants me to do, which is going to make getting to work really hard.

So now, I'm trying to get money to put into either ANOTHER bank and -pray- that I get a loan to pay off the other bank and get it all situated on -that- end... or some other way of raising 1300+ bucks.

I could say something cheesy like: I'm opening commissions now! :D :D :D
But I know that no one will commission me. Yea, I have commissions open, and if you want to place one, go ahead, but for the probable 2 of you that do read this, don't feel like ya have to.

However, on a similar note: If I don't get the money soon, the higher ups I work for are going to be pissed because I need to buy things for my uniform, which I can't do with no money, and the bills might go un-payed for a while. Plus the bank might do something if I can't get it cleared with in 30 or so days (read: not gonna happen)

Any advice is appreciated, so are commissions or perhaps just money thrown at me. If it's the latter though, let me know and I'll consider it a loan or something and try to pay it back when I can :<

For those of you who read this far: Sorry for the rant but felt like I was going to explode if I didn't at least write it down >.o;

So yea, I get back from AC, only to have to turn around three days later and have to go on a business trip. Get back, FA's down so I move my computer to a friends, AWAY from my scanner. Now it's up, but I'm getting a new computer, as well as leaving for ANOTHER business trip... so I'll probably scan when I get back so you can see the art/sketches I did while at AC. Only three, but then again that was alot more then I'm used to drawing over three days, due to work and such. Yay!

The only other thing is I've been debating changing the name here. Not like many people actually watch me any who, so it wouldn't be that bad of a thing. Probably register my actual fursona name, then start migrating things over that way, leave a pointer message here or something... just the whole 'fayte nobono' was a phase I think and so going back to my other name... wonder if anyone would care xD

Bah, I hate having to come up with titles, probably the hardest thing about these journals -.-;

Got into contact with one of those local fur things, and been hanging out with  Carenath (not much to his corner of FurAffinity, but thought I'd link regardless :P) and that little niche of the woods. I uh... I know there's others, but I don't know your names (I'm -horrible- with them) and what not. Now if work would just let me take my time off... thing's will be fine and dandy. They have a policy where you can't file for it till your one or two weeks out from leaving so... yay.

If anyone does see this, don't suppose they could drop me a good line in which to get in contact with someone for badges? Still need to get one made for the con :/

So yea, not really my tablet found so much as my pen to it. what does this mean exactly? I can start drawing again! Woo! I already have part of my char sketch up, but still debating if I want it to be PG rated (as it is right now), or if I want to add ... ... 'more' to it for others to use for 'that' kind of purpose. Doubt anyone wo reads my journals care, but it wouldn't hurt to ask anyway. But yea... soon there'll be actual artwork slowly starting to filter in here when I'm not being mind-numbingly deep in RP on my MUX or WoW (yes, I rp on there >3)

Kind of official now I guess, after spending 1k bucks on it, but I'm going to Anthrocon. Yay... though I had to book at the double-tree so... yea -.-;

Alright, I just finished talking to one of my very dear and very close friends. Since I've been in the 'fan-dom' I guess you could call it, I've kind of floated between names. For a while I distanced myself from 'Sjach' because it's back for many a reason, but it's what everyone who's ever seen my face in real life have come to call me. After talking to her, she basically convinced me that I am indeed Sjach (or that is my core personality) while the others are characters. See, my fursona has characters too! I just could never tell which one was 'me' as it were, and which ones were the characters. I'm not renaming the user account here... that would be silly. But for now, so that all know... Fayte, Kirimadd, Kashtir... all of them, they are the characters. While nice to play on occasion, The 'me' that is my 'sona' is Sjach.

What does this mean? Probably nothing... I just never wanted to be known as one of those guys always changing. I've associated a bit of spiritituality with the whole fursona thing. Couple of my friends I 'infected' think so too... but I'm away from them, being in the Military. So it's not like I can just talk to them whenever, unfortunatly. Anywho, one of the closer friends, the one that taught me about certain things about myself, we had a nice long talk. Yea, 'Dar-Dar' is kind of a pet name, but my fursona's name, the one I more closely relate to, would have to be 'Sjach'.

You might be asking: What's up with the 'Dar-Dar'? Well, only certain people get to call me that, and THEY know the correct times to use it. Kind of like a nickname that just kind of stuck. Sjach was the same way, both names where GIVEN to me. I didn't choose either of them, but they stuck. These others seemed fake. Never could tell why... it was because they weren't... 'real' as it were, I guess. So yea. I'll try and post up the bits and peices of my new 'sona' when I get them. I'm already knee-deep in a char-sheet, but I still have to get a scanner e_e

I don't seem to get any views. Even when I write a journal, like the before and all that, I seem to get no response. I think I've had a total of 1 response to all of my journals, and maybe 3 to all of my artwork. Just wanted to know if it's because of the lack of smut, or updates... or what?

Sadly, I know for a fact that I'm not going to get any responses, so this is all probably a moot point, but if you do read this, please help me get some info. It just... kills my wanting to draw really since it just plants ideas in the back of my head that I suck D: So... uh.. do I? This is a serious question... I know I'm on the like far end of things... but just need to know if it's my technique, or the fact that I'm not uploading new artwork every week/day or so? I don't care if I'm famous or not, I just don't want to be wasting people's times, yanno?

... It's one of the hardest things I have/want to do.

I would like to get a commission of my char... however it seems that alot of the artists that I watch and all that don't take commisions. Don't get me wrong, It's their right and I respect them for it (and some because they're too buisy rl) but...

I don't know. I guess I tend to be a bit to nieve or 'innocent' or what-have-you... not to mention I have no idea of what I want the pose and all that to be u_u.

So, like, anyone have any suggestions on how to ask for commissions? I don't wanna sound like an ass and be like: Uhh... <desc> have fun! and then just wait for it to finish... but I really do have a slump u_u. Wish sometimes I could just be like some of the others and be able to know exactly what to put... or have them just wow me. I don't know u_u.

On a second note: I'm currently out of drawing. My computer went KABOOM and is now being fixed, so no drawings on my end u_u.

Ok, not sure if I said this anywhere, but for those looking at my artwork, that's not my normal style >_>. Right now I'm experimenting with taking pictures of people and turning them into their '-sonas'. Not only that but anime-izing them. So the top that you've seen, maybe the head and a few things are actually free-formed sketched. The rest of it is not 100% traced, but more or less traced and observed from the original photograph.

Just wondering what people's opinions where? I do draw, yes, but I haven't uploaded any on HERE yet. That kobold picture itself is somewhat sketched and then the muscles where taken with much liberty xD, but for the most part the outline of the body was taken from an actual photograph then morphed.

I do this in Photoshop, insert picture, draw on another layer, then remove the original picture, then another layer and work with it from there. Just wondered what you guys actually thought >_> I actually suck balls at drawing unfortunately, but I do this in hopes of getting better, but then I look at all the other artists out there and... Don't know. Maybe I'm insecure and just need the re-assurance... don't know >_>.

By now everyone knows that guy claiming about being a real artist, that doesn't even have his own art (apparently). This was the rant that I post that, as of posting this journal, have yet to get a rebuttal. Read at your own warning :P

I have actually studied art, learned a little bit from it here and there... and I do have to say that you are right in some aspects, and not in others. An artist would truly, as someone pointed out earlier, someone whom expresses themselves through some type of media.

I know what your saying, that the title in of itself of artist cannot be awarded because of those that have not learned the history and techniques much like that of a lawyer. Like one can be a lawyer in a court case (as in for themselves), they are not entitled the title of lawyer.

But they are. They are recognized as lawyers while whomever is doing it. A more correct way of saying what I believe you are saying, is no one can have the occupation of Artist unless one has had the training before-hand. While yet, this still leaves the fact that one can have the title of Artist, it is only as so long as they keep themselves in their art. If I never showed any artwork in my life again, I could -hardly- be called an Artist, much like a lawyer couldn't be called a lawyer without work.

Now lets look at the 'Lawyer', 'Doctor', and 'Artist' side:
law·yer –noun
1. a person whose profession is to represent clients in a court of law or to advise or act for clients in other legal matters.
2. New Testament. an interpreter of the Mosaic Law. Luke 14:3.

3. to work as a lawyer; practice law.

With the above you can see the first definition, you are right. One must practice law in order to be inherent of the title 'Lawyer'.... if it weren't for that second definition. Now granted, as it pertains to art, if one does not study art (by looking at others, or in some way trying to get better), then you are right, they cannot call themselves Artist, much like a Lawyer (by the second definition) cannot call himself a Lawyer unless he sits down and works at the Mosaic Law.

Again, it starts off that one cannot be a doctor without having gotten that degree, and yet again, towards the end of that (I cut out the irrelevantly parts about fishing lures), merely by practicing medicine, or the 'folk magic' entitles one to the title of 'Doctor'.

1. a person who produces works in any of the arts that are primarily subject to aesthetic criteria.
2. a person who practices one of the fine arts, esp. a painter or sculptor.

Again, finishing up with artist, it is someone who merely practices something that looks good (a person who produces works in any of the arts that are primarily subject to aesthetic criteria) or that is pleasing to the senses.

Finaly the word: Practices, so that one cannot say that it merely means by doing in their work environment:

So yes, while Person A who draws a cruddy piece of artwork, and gets it put on the fridge is NOT an artist, if he continues to draw said crappy drawings, learning from his own drawings (or even other things), and it continues to be aesthetically pleasing to SOMEONE, s/he is an artist, and entitled the title of Artist. I am an Artist, for I have studied the various histories, and I have learned from other artists and every single piece of artwork that I put onto paper (digitally or analog) I learn something from it. ANYONE who draws, sings, dances, or whatever... any one of them whom who draw not only to appease people whom may not care about them, yet they draw, and learn SOMETHING... ANYTHING... is entitled to the title of artist.
