~ ~ ~ Hiatus Ending Soon, Maybe
General | Posted 11 years agoI may start becoming more active here on FA again towards the end of July.
I've been working on some stuff, I haven't made nearly as much progress on my projects as I'd like, but that's what working is for!
Also, I'm going to be getting the FA Music group thing up to speed once I'm done with my first set of goals! Yay!

~ ~ ~ Compliments for the people I know from FA (Plz read)
General | Posted 11 years agoThis is for everyone that I've met from FA.
>>Proceed
I don't spend a lot of time trying to meet new people. I'm terrible at it, despite trying way to hard.
When I DO come into contact with people, I scare them away. Mannerism, disposition, not getting normal people, etc.
It doesn't help that most furries completely suck as people.
*ahem*
But anyway....
There's been a bunch of you guys (mostly musicians), that have really always surprised me.
You guys and gals are so kind, polite, and down to earth.
It's always awesome to hear from you, it's always great to talk to you.
It's kind of astounding that I've met SO many cool individuals. Especially in this place.
And it's also nice to talk to furries that aren't completely despicable human beings. (Not that being a furry does anything to one's behavior, but anyway)
Thanks so much for existing.

General | Posted 11 years agoI'm tired of shoe-horned multiplayer, sequels, generic shooters, space marines, indie/AAA games that are pretty much the same game over and over, sequels, sexism, poor writing, etc. etc. etc.
I mean, when Microsoft comes out and says "this Halo game is going to be exactly like it was 10 years ago", and that's considered a highlight of the show, well, fuck, I hope you can see one of the huge problems right there.
And yes, I like Halo and Call of Duty and Ass Creed and Smash Bros. Even though they're complete shit.
But I'm tired of shit. I want something else.

~ ~ ~ Forthcoming hiatus
General | Posted 11 years agoFun facts:
I got a new job as an IT admin.
I recently bought Ableton Live 9 (standard).
So with these two new things, I'm basically going to stop shit-posting worthless WIPs in an effort to gain views and get people's attention.
Instead, I'm going to pull back and really start working on my sound again.
I finally wanna make that fucking EP, but I don't think my music is up to the standards it needs to be.
So I'm making an effort to improve my productions. I'm really trying to learn my synths (something that's already paying off), and I'm going to learn how to legitimately play the piano. I'm going to improve my mixing mastering techniques.
Also, with my new job, I'm definitely going to attempt to pay for those plugins that I frequently use.
I might also be saving up for a pair of those Rokit G6's.
But in the mean time, I can make do with what I got.
So it's off to work!
Thanks for you support, everyone! I means way more than you could imagine!
^-^
P.S.
I'm not going to be messing with FAMusiciansUnited to much, on account of my refocused efforts.
I might hop on there every so often and add new stuff, but that page isn't where it needs to be, and I don't think I'll fix that any time soon.
I'd rather make music.

General | Posted 11 years agoWondering if you guys wanna give any feedback or not.
I've got like 2 journal post and not much else to show just yet.
I plan on adding a 'table of content's' section that will either be linked in a journal, or it will be all on the main page of the site.
Got any ideas? Feedback? Any and all are suggestions/comments are DEEPLY appreciated.
http://www.furaffinity.net/user/famusiciansunited/
I liking finishing the shit I start.
It feels good.

~ ~ ~ Caving into desire; going to release older tracks soon
General | Posted 11 years agoSo I've basically written enough music to fill out a +30 minute album, so I'm going to go ahead and start working on getting that together.
It won't feature anything new, and given that I lost a lot important assets in a recent system restore, I won't be able to alter/rework any of the tracks.
And it'll be for free. ^-^

~ ~ ~ Starting an FA Music Group, who's with me?
General | Posted 11 years agoRead this:
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/...../#cid:39776189
I got to thinking about how much things suck for the furry music communities, and I decided that I wanna try and change something
And then, and idea came to me.
And I want to start a new music community, either here on FA or elsewhere.
Obviously, a music community can be many things: it can bea big popularity contest run by people of questionable taste and lazy commitment, it can be a legitimate version of the same concept (seriously, check this out) , it can be producer's forum, a tutorial site, etc. etc.
So the question is, what the fuck kind of group do I wanna make?
Great fucking question!
I wanna make a place where people can come to ask for help, share music, get advice (i.e. constructive criticism and critique).
ON THE FLIP SIDE: one of the saddest things that the furry Fandom is about how there is NO COHESION, in terms of musical awareness. I think we all know about NIIC and Renard... But I think that's probably it, for many of us. And that's sad, in my opinion.
I'd really like a way to do both, but if both concepts fight against each other.
But let's get this conversation started.
I'm tired of how shitty things are. Let's change that.

General | Posted 11 years agohttp://www.amazon.com/AKG-K44-K-44-...../dp/B001K3ENEA
For the price, they sound great. (note: they were $79 around July of last year, but AKG is clearance-ing them out, I think)
Everything is flat and dry, which is exactly what you need when writing music. The response range is kinda dissapointing, (20Hz to 18 KHz, I believe), but that's minor. Also, you really don't need a pre-amp for these.
They also feel freaking great resting on your head for hours.

~ [Gets 100+ watchers, writes less music] // Ask Me Anything
General | Posted 11 years agoActually, I've been working my ass off this past week
I went through a horrible battle of writer's block (again.....)
I'm really getting myself back in the grove.
Also, I'm writing more pony tracks lately.
It's really challenging and lots of fun!
But seriously, ASK ME ANYTHING.
Because I don't talk to the FA crowd enough!

~ ~ ~ Did I forget to watch you? Let me know!
General | Posted 12 years agoHey guys, I understand that a lot of you follow me with the expectation/hope that I'll follow you back. A lot of times, I forget to do so -_-
Which is totally cool! I'd love to follow people's stuff, but a lot of times I forget that I didn't actually hit the 'watch' button.
If so, please let me know!

Please like/follow/watch me on any of these platforms, if you guys want!
Also, I'm ALMOST at 100 watchers!

~ ~ ~ Pay Walls Will Kill Your Audience (IRL example)
General | Posted 12 years agoFans want to support artist who produce content they attach some sort of value to. The exchange of money for music is now considered a mutual exchange, where the money spent will go on to support the artist, to allow said artist to continue what they do.
http://bandittheraccoon.bandcamp.com/
This guy's music isn't bad. It's soundly produced and is probably something a DnB fan would probably like, but $7.99 is too much for an album by a someone whose music isn't very grabbing on the first listen.
Establishing a Pay Wall could easily block a significant amount of potential audience members who might actually really like an artist's music, if they had the chance to listen to it. This isn't the wrong way to promote yourself as an artist, but this is the far-reaches of the internet.
Things work differently here.
You could charge $8 or $10 or whatever for an album once you have recognition, once you've built a fan base and have a group of people that would gladly support you. But the best time to charge $10 for an album is when you make music worth paying for.
IMO

Bangin' trance stuff:
Longing
It Was Worth It
Tracert 1.0

Chill:
The Accident
A House for Two
Found and Lost

I also released an album a while back, that best encompasses my older sounds:

General | Posted 12 years agoSO yea, I've been pretty absent here lately.
Explination: Life+
I left my home to move to the city in another state, I recently got a job, I met a really wonderful girl, and video games (goddamn Steam sales will bankrupt you). That's really it.
Girl Stuff-
The girl I recently met is really wonderful. We have a lot of like-interest and I really enjoy spending time with her.
Music Stuff-
I've been, my to my chagrin, neglecting music writing. I am thinking about just going ahead and slightly tweaking existing songs and releasing those in an EP (or album, which would consisted of pretty much everything I've made under Fayyette) along with some slight advertising here on FA. Nothing major or drastic.
THANK YOU SECTION-
Thank you guys for BEING there, for listening to my stuff, commenting, faving, always checking out the new stuff I post. It means the WORLD to me.
I actually regret not being proactive here on FA, listening to YOUR tunes, giving feedback and support. It's a behavior I plan on changing.
Also, if I ever have the nerve to sell music, I'll make sure everyone here gets the music for free. (Because nobody likes paying for music, that's why)

General | Posted 12 years agoI'm already talking with a few people but I'm in a desperate search to find top-tier graphic artist.
I plan on paying with $$ and I want to get the highest quality stuff I possibly can.
Any suggestions is nice.
SPECIFICALLY, I'm going for a Hatsune Miku kinda style

General | Posted 12 years agoThis journal is attached to this song
So, what you're hearing is what I would call functional. It's decently produced and edited (though I admit I kinda rushed things), but this song in particular is not satisfying my personal expectations. I like it but there is a bar that has not been crossed, IMO. (Looking into re-writes, tho)
The EP is happening, but until I'm happy with the included material, it will not materialize. I'm not about to advertise a free EP here on FA that contains just-average music. I'm after quality; as is everyone else.
Please know that I'm not trying to draw sympathy from you; as an artist I haven't matured to the point I want to be at.
But I'm not stopping. I'll get there, one day. You'll hear about it when I do, for sure.

~ ~ ~ Possible EP out by the year's end (...maybe...)
General | Posted 12 years agoDespite having some weird CPU issues with Sylenth, I'm thinking about writing a small EP and advertising it heavily by the year's end.
Granted, I've been in a odd sort of writer's block, so, this plan might not happen. My standards are just eating up my confidence.
So, yea. We'll see.

So I'm shooting for more experimentation, which really just translates into shorter songs that deviate from what I've been doing.
