A new Year
General | Posted 18 years agoSo... a new year has just begun, let's hope it'll be a good one?
This is a busy period but I'm growing hopeful, it's being more proficient then I thought it would be.
Still I shall have to wait till I give my first exams, I hope I'm prepared enough, but I really don't know.
Still I'm not producing mush furry art, the reason being, I am currently working on a (non-furry) commmission, and it's rather important that I finish it quickly.
In addition lately I'm having troubles finding inspiration so...
...I'll thbbleplod another day.
Don't ask.
Really.

Paleolithic anthropomorfic art
General | Posted 18 years agoSome time ago I was wondering since when mankind created anthropomorfic art and I couldn't think of anything before ancient greece.
Lately I found out that there are examples of anthorpomorfic art (although few) date back to paleolithic times :O
There's a statue -found, I think, in germany somewhere near Hohlstein- picturing a man with a lion's head (admittedly it may picture a man with a mask) which is over 30.000 years old (aurignacian period!). Here's a picture: http://www.landschaftsmuseum.de/sei...../Kunst-Pal.htm
Also according to Gourhan in palolithic symbology, the horse was associated with man and bison with woman (please note that Gourhan's studies refer mostly to the Franco-cantabric area).
:O

not emoing?
General | Posted 18 years agoI was reasoning, in order not to be an emo while being depressed, there are two possibly ways of conduct, you can either say nothing about it, or pretend you are not.
In my experience these are the only two solutions I was able to came up with.
Also, spartans were voyeurist.

Lone
General | Posted 18 years agoWhat's worse, to be alone in a park at night, or to be alone in a room which is currently holding approximately 300 people?
Phem would say, the second one.
It's not cool nor neat to be the "lone wolf"

Therapnon
General | Posted 18 years agoOn the muddy river of Therapnon, near its delta, there once lay a city. It wasn't a great city, just a bundle of houses huddled togheter. Here Lived mostly fishermen and farmers, it has no strategical location, nor important source of income, but still, lord Xanathos wanted it wiped out.
"It will just be an ammonition for those who plan to stand in my way" he told his warlord, shrugging, before giving the signal to attack.
The ground shook under the hoover of the approacing death.
In that moment a woman was giving birth to a child, in a hut, upstream. Her husband, the night before, heard some soldiers talking about the attack in the nearby city of Humunt, and he rushed home, and moved his wife to his father's farm. The woman was crying and wailing, and between the screams she said "I'm sorry to have brought you in this awful world".

Mirror
General | Posted 18 years ago"each one of us wears a number of masks according to the situation, it is in our nature.
Come glance through my masks, and you will see a hollow core and a mirror, for I am all of my mask and neither."
Gah, exams coming soon, no time to draw at all @_@
